deadmau5 returns to London to headline South West 4 2017

Visionary. Pioneer. Geniu5. These are some of the words that have been used to describe your Sunday night headliner.  Deadmau5 is regarded amongst the elite of electronic music artists that have ever stepped foot on the planet. Back in London for the first time in three years, Sunday 27th August 2017 will witness the Mau5’ return to London following his last appearance in the city which witnessed him dominate the SW4 main stage in 2014. Fast-forward to 2017 and he is back with a vengeance with a brand new album and ready to tour the globe with jaw-dropping and stunning production levels. With a 22 date US tour on the horizon and a brand new residency on BBC Radio 1, there is no doubt that one of the greatest producers on the planet is on a mission to demonstrate why he is #1!

An absolute titan of house and techno, Marco Carola is the undisputed leader of a hugely competitive scene. The man from Naples has been championing his sound across the globe for many years now and his hugely popular Music On parties have captured the imagination of the dance music community. His weekly summer residency at the world famous Amnesia Ibiza has seen him regularly break attendance records at the huge Balearic venue. His dominance is so much so that he has now started his own festival in the clubbing city that is Amsterdam as he continues his world domination. We cannot wait to welcome the one and only Marco Carola back to SW4!

ALSO JUST ANNOUNCED (A-Z):
DUSKY LIVE, GARETH EMERY, MATADOR LIVE, NICKY ROMERO, PAN POT, THE MARTINEZ BROTHERS & ZINC VS CRIS LORENZO

Leaders of the UK underground, BBC Essential Mix of the Year contenders, DJ Magazine cover stars, headliners everywhere from Berlin's Panorama Bar to London's Fabric, Dusky's story so far is one of constant forward motion and universal appeal. The London duo are deep in preparation for their new LIVE tour as they set to embark on a series of sold out shows across the country showcasing their latest productions. Their vocal & synth-led productions have allowed them to standout amongst a plethora of hugely talented acts around them. Dusky Live, Clapham Common, Sunday 27th August. This will be special…

Born in Southampton, Raised in Manchester, based in L.A, Gareth Emery’s tour schedule doesn’t look too dissimilar to that. Always jet setting from one side of the world to another, Gareth is one of the hardest working DJs out there.  His last visit to the capital witnessed a sold out show at the world-famous Roundhouse in Camden as an army of Gareth’s fans descended to the North London venue. A regular at London’s longest standing weekly night, The Gallery at Ministry of Sound, he knows the lay of the land and will absolutely smash Clapham Common to pieces come August Bank Holiday!

Matador’s formidable LIVE show has been a constant talking point in dance music as the Irish man has been working tirelessly to perfect his energetic sound. A regular guest at Richie Hawtin’s ENTER party, he has been performing extensively in Ibiza and at Enter events all over the world from Brixton to Amsterdam and farther afield in Los Angeles and Miami. Now looking to take his career to the next level, Gavin Lynch aka Matador is definitely one to watch for 2017 and we are eagerly awaiting his performance on the beautiful landscape of the Common!

Nicky Romero has stamped his authority in the electronic music scene with the Dutch maestro considered to be one of the leading exponents of the high octane sound that has dominated many parts of the world in recent years. A consistent over achiever in everything he does, Nicky is used to playing to thousands of reveler’s worldwide as he sells out clubs from Europe to Asia. Bank Holiday Weekend will no different as thousands of Londoners descend onto the Common.

Since their inception in 2005, Pan-Pot have become a dominant presence in modern techno, an ascent mirrored in the rise of their home label Mobilee records to the top tier of electronic music. Tagging themselves as “the dark side of the force,” Pan-Pot have melted minds, warped perceptions and reinvigorated the dance floor with their heavy, unorthodox sound. We cannot wait to welcome this techno heavyweight back to Clapham Common for what’s sure to be a bold and uncompromising performance!

The brothers from the Bronx have been nothing short of a sensation in the electronic music scene in recent years. The Martinez Brothers’ burst onto the scene at the early age of fifteen and have been one of the leaders in the global house music scene since then. Holding a residency at the world-famous DC-10 since 2011, their high-energy performances and in-depth-knowledge of house music have made them favourites across dance floors worldwide. The brothers will be making their SW4 debut this summer and their unique ability to guide the crowd through a musical journey like no other means they are the perfect addition to what’s already shaping up to be a huge house and techno line up at SW4 Sunday…

When you put together one of the most respected artists in the UK scene with another that is carving his own way to becoming the same, you get Chris Lorenzo back to back with DJ Zinc. Zinc has been one of the most prolific and talented artists in the scene for over two decades and his recent tour schedule means he’s definitely not looking to slow down. On the other hand. Lorenzo has received huge critical acclaim for his new album and is destined for great things. We can’t wait for this world-exclusive back to back which is sure to blow the roof off!

SW4 2013 Review – Sunday

This year's South West Four or SW4 as its more commonly known as celebrated its tenth year anniversary and had a spectacular lineup to match.

Closing out Sunday night on the main stage was headliner Example.  His presence on stage with his live band brought a continued wave of euphoric energy over the grounds of Clapham Common as he kicked off his set with 'Kickstarts'.  Bouncing around the stage like an energiser bunny and fresh off a main stage performance at Glastonbury, the sold out 30,000 crowd filled the main arena to wave their hands in the air to tracks 'Won't Go Quietly', 'Stay Awake', 'Watch the Sun Come Up', and his new single 'All the Wrong Places'.  Complete with a massive laser display and pyrotechnics showering the Clapham Common grounds, Example sent out this years SW4 in style!

Example @ SW4

The UKF hosted main arena also had massive sets from SW4 favourites Knife Party, Dutch DJ Nicky Romero, Drum and Bass master Andy C, American Trap sensation Baauer and special guest, the one and only Steve Aoki.

Having recently started a trend of spraying champagne and throwing cakes into the crowd, we were waiting in anticipation for Steve Aoki to hit the stage to see what crazy antics he would bring to the London.  Kicking off with his new track, it didn't take long for Aoki to balance himself up on the DJ booth to present to the crowd what looked like an M&S chocolate cake.  Pointing a finger out across the crowd, he takes aim and tosses the cake high into the sky, as the crowd disperse to avoid being literally cake faced, the cake splats onto the ground spraying up onto those unfortunately enough to "get a piece".  Steve Aoki then topped his set off by running out to the barriers with a bottle of champagne to spray those that were front and centre to complete an entertaining performance.

Steve Aoki @ SW4

Earlier on in the day in the Together Arena the iconic Soul II Soul drew an packed out crowd to see Jazzy B and the rest of the troupe.  Jazzy B got on the mic to say "Its great to be on this side of the river" as the north Londoner's treated the crowd to tracks like 'Keep on Movin', 'Back to Life', 'Get a Life' and more which kept the fans grooving throughout their hour long set.

The Bedrock arena had special guest and legendary German DJ and producer Sven Vath get the mid afternoon crowd bopping their heads with a typical Vath set full of techno house goodies that you can't help but shake your ass to!  Vath is still one of few DJ's that performs with Vinyl and its a pleasure to see this against all the digital DJ's these days.

SW4 2013

Also up in the Bedrock arena is flight shy Eric Prydz whose also another SW4 fan favourite.  Featured regularly over the years, Prydz never disappoints.  His electro infused big room house sound has served him well over the years and this years set at SW4 was one of the best ones yet.

Closing out the Bedrock tent and performing in a Skull like custom made DJ booth is Alex Ridha, who is more famously known as Boyz Noise, a german electronic music producer who brings his lively and innovative live show to SW4.  His innovative mix of different genres of music with electronic music makes it easy to understand why he is in huge demand and why his live sets are praised around the world!  His energy transcends over the packed tent to ensure that everyone is treated to a special show.

With John Digweed, Pete Tong, Erick Morillo, Dillon Francis, RL Grime, Friction, Crazy P, The 2 Bears and more performing on Sunday it was yet another example that its best not to mess with a formula of bringing one of the biggest dance music lineups to London every Bank Holiday weekend.  SW4 have stuck to their roots of doing what they know best, throwing a massive weekender party in a park and have had 10 years of success by doing so.   If you haven't ever been to SW4, we recommend you prepare for next year as each year just seems to exceed the previous, see you on the Common in 2014!

Cream Ibiza 2013 acts revealed including Calvin Harris and more!

Cream Ibiza returns to superclub Amnesia with a roster of world-class artists set amongst some of the best production on the planet.

As one of Ibiza’s longest running and most successful parties, the line-up for this year’s season doesn’t disappoint with Cream’s heavyweight headliners Calvin Harris, Above & Beyond, Paul Van Dyk and Laidback Luke returning for the season to make Cream Ibiza the destination for clubbers on the island.

Calvin Harris

The Main Room’s ice cannons will be blasting to the sounds of one of the biggest electronic acts in the world, Above & Beyond who are back for six dates across the season. If that wasn’t enough, long-serving Cream Ibiza headliner Paul van Dyk will be returning for eight dates this summer.

Cream are also very excited to announce that the man that started it all in Ibiza, Paul Oakenfold will be taking to the Main Room decks for this year’s Opening Party. We can’t wait to see what he has in store for this very special show.

Following the success of their performances last season, we welcome back Eddie Halliwell, Gareth Emery, John O’Callaghan, Mat Zo, Giuseppe Ottaviani, Gareth Wyn and Ben Gold to do what they do best, make you wish the party would never end.

Other new faces for this season include Russian sensation Arty whose track ‘Together We Are’ can be heard in every club at the moment plus Anjuna’s Norin & Rad and BBC Radio 1’s Jordan Suckley.

The Mixmag terrace is famed for its epic soundsystem and incredible laser lightshow so it was only fair that Cream sourced a roster of incredible artists to match. This year global superstar Calvin Harris will take to the decks for 8 dates across the season whilst Laidback Luke brings his SuperYou&Me party for 4 dates.

Along with our incredible headliners we’re also bring a host of fresh faces from across the globe to the Mixmag Terrace including Swedish phenomenon Alesso and Dutch house stars Nicky Romero and Hardwell. If that wasn’t enough the man of a ‘Million Voices’ Otto Knows makes his Cream Ibiza debut along with Moda’s Tom Staar.

Cream are also pleased to announce that some of our favourite acts will be returning to the Mixmag Terrace including Dirty South, fresh off the back of his brand new album ‘Speed of Life’, after a year hiatus from Cream Ibiza we can’t wait to see him back behind the decks. Other acts returning include Michael Woods, Chris Lake and Burns.

Full Creamfields lineup revealed including headliners The Prodigy, Avicii, Tiësto & more!

Over the past six months we have strived to deliver to you what we believe is the biggest line up we have ever seen at the festival, starting with Saturday headliners, The Prodigy.

As one of the most, if not the most influential dance acts on the planet, we’re pleased to announce The Prodigy will be headlining the North Stage on Saturday 24th August for their only UK performance this year. Expect bomb squad production, appendix churning bass and rushing keyboard hooks as you experience one of the greatest live shows of your lifetime.

The Prodigy

Headlining the South Stage on Saturday will be Avicii. After thousands watched the Swedish phenomenon smash it last year we can’t wait to see what he has in store for us this time. Whilst Avicii enjoys the fresh heights of fame, one DJ who has been at the top of his game for the past two decades is Tiësto. A performer who has transcended musical genres, Tiësto continues to be one of the World’s top DJs and that’s why we’re happy to announce that he will be returning with the Clublife South Stage on Sunday. Proceeding with our world class line-up, we welcome back David Guetta who continues his global domination with the news that he has hit the 1 million sales record for his track ‘Titanium’ ft Sia, not to mention the numerous awards he has won over the past 12 months. As ever David will be bringing his full scale production and vast music catalogue to close Sunday’s North Stage.

Size Records has become the starting block for many a DJ/producer over the past few years and at its helm is Steve Angello. As one of the most successful electronic producers of his time, Steve’s sets at Creamfields are always epic and we assure you this year will be no different. If that wasn’t enough we've also got his partner in crime Sebastian Ingrosso hosting his very first ‘All Mixed Up’ arena on Sunday. If you haven’t experienced these guys’ sets before, you better get ready because they know how to party, hard.

One DJ collective who uphold a 100% success rate for giving their audience goosebumps are Above & Beyond, famed for their interactive, uplifting performances we can’t wait to have them back at the show. Another act we’re excited to see is Paul van Dyk. Paul is a Cream legend, having played for the festival nearly every year since its inception and also maintaining a successful residency at Cream Ibiza he consistently delivers and will be back to headline the Cream Arena on Sunday.

Above & beyondFurther highlights this year include Eric Prydz aka Pryda whose February Essential Mix is still a constant on the Creamfields office speakers plus the ferocious Knife Party who will take to Saturday’s South Stage to treat us with their heady cocktail of sounds from dubstep and electro to drum and bass and moombahton. They will be joined by the DJ with the Midas touch, Nicky Romero,  who recently celebrated his first UK number 1 with the track ‘I Could Be The One’ featuring Avicii. We also have Grammy-award winner Afrojack, DJ Mag Top 100 #6 Hardwell, wonderkid Porter Robinson and Refune prodigy Alesso who is back after that amazing set on last year’s South Stage.  Also listen out for Groove Armada as they will be sure to debut some brand new tracks in the Nation Arena as they recently announced that they’re heading back into the studio. From legends to fresh faces we couldn’t believe our eyes when we first saw Madeon play, so much talent and still only 18! If you haven’t seen his ‘Pop Culture’ video on YouTube yet – look now – and don’t miss his North Stage debut.

Ensuring our stages are kept booming across both days we’ve put together a delectable line-up of stars including NERVO, Zane Lowe, Zedd, Tommy Trash, Feed Me, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Borgore, Norman Doray, Alvaro, Major Look Tom Staar, and Pegboard Nerds.

Shaking things up for this year we introduce a fresh new arena from Pete Tong. The All Gone Pete Tong arena embodies Pete’s ability to push and nurture new talent whilst still representing the artists who helped forge the scene. First on the invite list is Sasha, ready to drop tracks from his brand new Involv3r compilation release and making a welcome return to the festival after a year hiatus. Moving on from one of Mixmag’s first cover stars to their DJ of 2012, Solomun, will be bringing the sounds of his Diynamic label to the show for the first time. Completing this tasty first line-up are leading DJ/ producers Joris Voorn, David Squillace, Hernan Cattaneo, Hot Since 82 and Jaymo & Andy George. Bring it.

From ‘All Gone Pete Tong’ to ‘All Mixed Up’; the brand new arena presented by Sebastian Ingrosso, which features himself and protégé Alesso as well as very special guest Armand van Helden, Otto Knows, Mat Zo, Deniz Koyu and Carli. Whilst Steve Angello and the Size Matters posse will be raising the roof once again with acts Benny Benassi, AN21, Max Vangeli, Third Party, Tim Mason, Quilinez and Wayne & Woods.

Creamfields’ first lady Annie Mac has pulled it out of the bag once again with the line-up for the Annie Mac Presents Arena which includes a live performance from the BBC’s coveted Sound of 2013 #2 act, AlunaGeorge. The über talented duo will also be joined by breakthrough house producerJulio Bashmore whose infectious melodies are certain to provide the perfect summer festival vibe, and the extremely talented Eats Everything and his ‘Feather Fight’ cohort Justin Martin.  In addition, we also welcome rising stars Toddla T Sound and Monki and along with the man behind the ‘Harlem Shake,' Baauer.

After last year we have made it our mission to get the acts you missed back to this year’s festival including the mighty Richie Hawtin and his unique ENTER. Arena concept. Now an award-winning night in Ibiza, ENTER. will provide a Balearic atmosphere on Sunday complimented by the beats of the mighty Loco Dice, Seth Troxler, Gaiser, Paco Osuna and Hobo.

As a much revered institution at Creamfields we’re always excited to see the line-up for the Pryda Friends Arena and this year Eric Prydz has surpassed even our expectations offering up sets from renowned techno producer Marco Carola, RA’s #10 of 2012 Maya Jane Coles plus a welcome return from Adam Beyer. We also have a debut appearance from Maceo Plex and music from Scuba, George Fitzgerald and Fehrplay.

When it comes to bass, beats and solid grooves there are two people who never let you down and that’s why this year we’ve asked Skream & Benga to curate a brand new arena for Saturday. Skream & Benga present will feature sets from the men themselves as well as a few of their friends including Ram Records founder Andy C, Redlight, Rustie, Jack Beats, Alvin Risk, Zinc, Bondax,  Clean Bandit, Kidnap Kid, Woz plus many more.

Celebrating the landmark 10th edition of their renowned label showcase with ‘Anjunabeats Volume 10’, Above & Beyond present the Anjunabeats Arena in association with Mixmag for the first time at Creamfields offering plenty of euphoric, hands in the air moments with a little help from their ‘On A Good Day’ co-producer Gareth Emery, Cream legend Paul Oakenfold and Arty. They will also be bringing the cream of the Anjuna crop in the form of Norin & Rad and Andrew Bayer.

Topping up the trance on Sunday we have the iconic Cream Arena, our longest standing arena, filled with memories, many made by these guys –Paul van Dyk and Ferry Corsten. They will be celebrating this special anniversary with John O’Callaghan, Simon Patterson, Jordan Suckleyand Adam Sheridan.

Prepare your superhero costumes as Laidback Luke returns with the SuperYou&Me Arena! Steve Aoki will finally make his Creamfields debut along with his rider of cakes, inflatables and plenty of champagne for everyone! And the party doesn’t stop there! Eddie Halliwell will be making sure you’re fired up while Chuckie and Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano will be making up the Dutch contingent supported by Tom Swoon and La Fuenta.

Whilst Skream & Benga ensure the bass is covered on Saturday, Mistajam will show us what his Speakerbox imprint has got on Sunday with a headline live performance from Sub Focus and a Creamfields debut for London boys Modestep. The raw talent in this arena doesn’t end there with sets to look forward to from Digital Soundboy’s Shy Fx plus Mistajam himself, Monsta, Killsonik, Friction, Majestic, Decibel, North Base andBitR8.

After last year’s success we’re bringing the Nation concept undercover with the Nation Arena headlined by Groove Armada, with return performances from A-Trak, Fake Blood and Jaguar Skills. Plus we’ve also got sets from emerging talent Jackmaster, Burns and Eli & Fur.

Providing beats on the harder side of dance is the Goodgreef Xtra-Hard Arena which features performances from the likes of Kutksi, Andy Whitby, Alex Kidd, the Organ Donors plus many more, and for those who prefer the finer side of life, Hed Kandi return as hosts of the Hospitality Arena.

It has become somewhat of a tradition to have the Mixmag as our official warm-up hosts for the festival and this year is no different as they bring you ‘That Mixmag Thing’ silent disco arena on Friday 23rd August with DJ Mag’s youngest covermount artist – at just 17! – Danny Avila and Mixmag’s ‘one to watch’ Deniz Koyu plus the Mixmag Allstars. If you like things a little deeper and darker then Riva Starr’s Snatch! silent disco arena is the place for you. This year Riva has brought with him some of the most exciting acts to watch out for this year including ‘Producers Producer’ Duke Dumont, Dirty Bird’s Shadow Child and more. We can’t wait for this! Finally Unit7 introduce the WRHSmusic arena armed with their favourite acts of the moment, including Russ Chimes who will be bringing his own unique brand of amped up, atmospheric and pop-savvy dance music to the silent disco as well as the brilliant Citizen.

Sander Van Doorn, Boyz Noize & more added to SW4 lineup

ADDED TO SW4 DAY ONE: SAT 24TH AUGUST

MARCO CAROLA · SOLOMUN · SANDER VAN DOORN

Having been on our hit list for many years, South West Four is delighted to welcome one of planet Earth’s greatest DJs, the magnificent Marco Carola, for our colossal 10th Anniversary festivities. The much loved Italian’s epic journeys through deep techno have caused widespread mayhem over the years, particularly his lengthy sets on the Amnesia Ibiza terrace as part for his Cocoon and Music On residencies. The latter proved to be the talk of the White Isle last summer, with Italy’s finest export since going onto headline festivals across the world such as Timewarp and Awakenings. We couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome him to London… SW4 style!

Always ranking high on any DJ list that matters, Solomun is one of the most in-demand DJs of recent times. Named 2012 ‘DJ of the year’ by Mixmag, the Hamburg based producer has been making huge waves with his unique and modern blend of techno and house. The Diynamic imprint which he founded has allowed Solomun to spread his name yet further, which is set to be elevated to a whole new level this summer via amajor Ibizan residency soon to be announced. Making his SW4 debut this year, Solomun is simply a must see.

Sander Van Doorn is a force to be reckoned with. Synonymous with trance, electro and techno, Sander’s rise to superstardom over the past ten years is testament to his raw talent and dedication. Through classics such as ‘Grasshopper’, ‘Punk’d’ and ‘Riff’, recent hits like ‘Nothing Inside’ and massive collaborations and remixes of The Killers, Lady Gaga, Artic Monkeys, Robbie Williams and Depeche Mode, Sander has developed his own sound which shrugs off the confines of genre typecasting. With a tour schedule that sees him play to more than a million fans each year, we look forward to welcoming Sander to ourhallowed turf, as he leaves his mark on our 10th Anniversary.

ADDED TO SW4 DAY TWO: SAT 25TH AUGUST

BOYS NOIZE [LIVE] · NICKY ROMERO · BAAUER

Returning for the first time since hosting a Boys Noize Records Arena in 2010, SW4 is extremely excited to welcome back the inimitable Boys Noize for our 10th Anniversary. Bringing to Clapham Common his hotly anticipated ‘Skull’ live show in a full UK festival exclusiveBoys Noize will display the kind of talents that resulted in Rolling Stone Magazine voting him amongst the top 10 ‘DJs who rule the Earth’ in 2012. Famed for pushing electronic music to the very limit, his latest album ‘Out of the Black’ has gained acclaim from critics and peers alike, whilst his new project alongside Skrillex called ‘Dog Blood’ has been setting the world on fire. His live show is going to be an unforgettable experience… you have been warned!

Another artist making his SW4 debut this year is Nicky Romero, who entered the 2012 DJ Magazine Top 100 Poll at number 17 – the highest new entry. Recently, he launched his own ‘Protocol’ brand – involving arecord label, club night and radio show which has gathered huge momentum in a short space of time, reaching over twenty million listeners worldwide each week. Not bad for a 23 year old. Last year Nicky worked with Calvin Harris, Rihanna and Avicii; it’s worrying to think what 2013 will hold. One thing is for sure; Nicky Romero is set to conquer the planet. His next stop? SW4!

Brooklyn’s prodigal son Baauer has been causing quite a stir of late. You would be hard-pressed to find someone who hasn’t heard Harlem Shake or been caught up in the madness that ensues in each video. The man behind the Shake certainly has more feathers to his bow, having remixed the likes of Nero, The Prodigy and fellow trap-heads Flosstradamus, as well as claiming the #1 spot in the iTunes America Chart. In 2012 he signed with the LuckyMe family, whilst his latest offering ‘Higher’ with famed hip-hop producer Just Blaze, looks set to repeat the success of ‘Harlem Shake’. Watch out world; Baauer has landed.

Baauer
