MINISTRY OF SOUND ANNOUNCES THAILAND DATES FOR 35TH ANNIVERSARY WORLD TOUR

Ministry of Sound continues its 35th Anniversary World Tour this June with two Thailand shows featuring Darius Syrossian, Riva Starr and Jesse P. The tour arrives at Illuzion Phuket on June 26th before heading to SEEN Beach Club Koh Samui on June 27th for a second event in an open-air beachfront setting.

Headlining is Moxy Muzik founder Darius Syrossian, known for his groove-led approach to house and techno, alongside Italian house mainstay and Snatch! Records boss Riva Starr. Jesse P completes the lineup.

Ranked No. 9 in DJ Mag’s Top 100 Clubs poll, Illuzion Phuket has become one of Asia’s most prominent large-scale nightlife destinations. The 5,000-capacity venue sits at the centre of Patong’s Bangla Road nightlife district and is known for its multi-room layout, high-spec Funktion-One and L-Acoustics sound systems, and international programming featuring some of electronic music’s biggest names.

The second show takes place at CLUB SEEN Koh Samui, a retro-inspired beachfront venue on Chaweng Beach that has built a reputation for its day-to-night format, combining poolside sessions, sunset programming and international guest DJs on the island shoreline. 

The Thailand dates follow Ministry of Sound’s recently announced Bali residency at The Stage in Seminyak, which will host the same trio on June 25th, continuing the brand’s expanding run of Asia-Pacific events as part of its year-long global anniversary tour.

WYCHWOOD FESTIVAL UPDATE: Headliner withdraws from Friday night slot

With just two days to go until the 20th edition of Wychwood Festival, organisers have announced Friday night headliner Craig David Presents TS5 is no longer able to perform.

The last-minute withdrawal sees the UK garage and R&B icon Walking Away from the festival – one can only assume due to how busy he is on Thursday and Friday and Saturday…

Posting online, Wychwood said:

“We are disappointed to announce that Craig David Presents TS5 is unfortunately unable to join us at Wychwood Festival this year due to circumstances beyond anyone’s control. We sincerely hope to welcome Craig to Wychwood in the future.

“Our team has been working flat out behind the scenes to make sure Friday night remains every bit as special as planned and we are thrilled to announce that the phenomenal Sophie Ellis-Bextor is now stepping up to headline Friday night.

“Sophie was already set to bring the disco to the main stage, and now she will officially close the night with a sequin studded headline performance. We’re deeply grateful to Sophie and her team for rearranging plans at such short notice to make this happen.“

Despite the disappointment many will feel at losing an iconic headliner in Craig David, there have been more than a few comments describing his booking as “Not very Wychwoody” so not everyone will be upset with the change.

So the baton passes to Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Queen of the Kitchen Disco, riding to the rescue upon a Disco-ball of pop brilliance (you’d imagine) to bring her sequin-studded disco to light up the night.

With a remarkable music career spanning over 25 years, Sophie has achieved five Top 10 albums and eight Top 10 singles. Her iconic hits include “Take Me Home,” “Get Over You,” “Heartbreak (Make Me a Dancer),” and “Murder on the Dancefloor”—which enjoyed a massive resurgence after featuring in the film Saltburn, now boasting over 11 billion global streams.

So could the Friday rejig open the doors to an exciting last-minute addition? With an already stacked lineup featuring the likes of Kaiser Chiefs, Levellers, Everything Everything, Maximo Park, Feeder, Boney M, Newton Faulkner, Chesney Hawkes and many more, Wychwood organisers’ little black book is clearly full to the brim with contacts – so watch this space!

ATEEZ Announced as BST Hyde Park Headliners for UK Exclusive Show

Australia’s cult CLOSER Festival is set to make its European debut this summer, as influential underground talent SPEZ brings the concept to Bosnia & Herzegovina for the first time with an inaugural edition in Livno taking place from 24th-26th July 2026. Next to world class music, this cultured escape offers a mix of natural beauty, wild horses, lake swimming and plenty more.

Founded as an extension of SPEZ’s wider vision through Warg Records, CLOSER has previously established itself in Australia with legendary events across Sydney, Perth and Melbourne. The move into Europe marks a bold but natural next step for the project: Livno holds particular importance as SPEZ’s hometown, so ensures the festival is underpinned with a strong personal as well as cultural context.

Set against a striking natural backdrop beside one of Europe’s largest man-made lakes and beneath the Kamensko mountain range, the fully camping-based festival will welcome 5,000 attendees with multiple camping options available. The blissful site will feature swimming access, lakeside bars and restaurants with a dedicated wellness and social space called “Ritam Kahve” (or “The Rhythm of Coffee”), where traditional Bosnian coffee will be served each morning ahead of carefully curated musical programming.

Musically, CLOSER will present two immersive stages: a main stage hosting international artists, and a dedicated CLOSER stage focused on exciting emerging & underground talent, curated takeovers and label showcases. The featured hosts are Frazi.er’s PLTFRM, Amsterdam’s techno crew Vault Sessions, and Manchester’s Clergy Records — Cleric’s renowned imprint known for its uncompromising contribution to techno culture.

The lineup reflects a full and essential spectrum of contemporary techno with influential artists including Colin Benders (Live), Cleric, Daria Kolosova, Dax J, SLAM, Estella Boersma, Ignez, Yanamaste & more alongside a strong selection of emerging names.

Beyond the music, the festival will incorporate rare, unmissable experiences tied to the local landscape including organised excursions to see Livno’s wild horses in the nearby Cincar mountain range.

Since its inception, CLOSER has hosted respected labels such as Clergy Records and Mutual Rytm and was also recognised by the Victorian Government in 2023 as a festival of cultural significance, and is one of the scene’s most respected and discerning brands.

The DJ Harvey Revives Legendary Rulin Party at Ministry of Sound for One Night Only

DJ Harvey is set to perform his only UK show of 2026  this summer at Ministry of Sound. Forming part of the club’s 35th anniversary programme, the event, taking place on August 22nd, also sees the return of the club’s seminal Rulin series for the first time in over a decade, marking a momentous moment in the dance music calendar. 

“It’s been 35 years since Rulin MoS was launched and I was one of its resident DJ’s. To celebrate, for one weekend only we’re bringing it back. I’ve been given the keys to the club and partnered with Ministry of Sound & Rulin’s original founder. Together we’ve put together an incredible lineup, some DJs that played Rulin way back when and others that embody the free spirit and sound of Rulin today. I’m playing an open to close set in the box and cannot wait. In 35 years time you won’t wanna say you weren’t there, trust me!” – DJ Harvey 

Intertwined both with the history of the club and DJ Harvey’s career, Rulin was a defining Saturday night series that built a cult following in the 90s. With Harvey as the central resident, the hedonistic night was known for its expansive sound and eclectic crowds, playing an influential role in the culture of London’s club scene at the end of the century. 

Now widely regarded as a singular figure in dance music, DJ Harvey’s Rulin sets at Ministry of Sound marked a formative chapter in the early development of a career that would go on to achieve near-mythical status.

Known for his marathon sets that draw on a lifetime spent immersed in music scenes all over the world, Harvey is celebrated for a defining style that is uniquely his own. His genre-spanning selections frequently traverse everything from disco to rock, techno and acid, delivered with an attitude and aura that magnetise the dance floor.

Eden Ibiza has long been a home for the hottest sounds in Ibiza and this summer the legendary San Antonio venue is giving Garage one of its biggest moments on Ibiza’s most powerful soundsystem. 

Across a packed Wednesday programme running from June through to September, Eden is presenting three of the most important names in UKG culture – 23 Degrees, DJ EZ and Garage Nation. Together this adds up to the most significant showcase of homegrown British dance music the island has seen in years and forms a season-long celebration of a genre that has never been hotter. 

The series opens with 23 Degrees, a brand built around the authentic spirit of UK Garage and the community that never stopped loving it. Running every Wednesday from 17th June through to 22nd July, the residency brings six nights of pure UKG heat to Eden’s dancefloor and establishes the tone for everything that follows. July closes with the first of two very special evenings curated by DJ EZ – arguably the greatest selector the genre has ever produced. A man whose technical mastery and encyclopedic knowledge of the music are the stuff of genuine legend, EZ has assembled lineups that reflect his singular taste. The first night, on 29th July, pairs him with Seb Zito and The Menendez Brothers, for a night that pushes the boundaries of what a Garage event can sound like. While 26th August sees DJ EZ joined by the incomparable Todd Edwards – the New Jersey vocalist and producer whose fingerprints are all over the sound of nineties and early 2000s UKG and Speed Garage – also supporting on the second night is G33 from Girls Don’t Sync, known for her high-energy sets blending UK Bass, Garage and nostalgic edits with South Asian and South London influences. Then, from August through to the end of September (aside from 26th August, which is given over to DJ EZ), Garage Nation takes the reins. The iconic brand has spent nearly three decades driving UK Garage from the underground into the mainstream. They recently sold out London’s 18,000-capacity O2 Arena for the second year in a row and are now all set to make their Ibiza debut across seven Wednesdays to deliver the same irresistible atmosphere, singalong energy and crowd euphoria that has made it one of the most beloved names in British Club Culture. Terminal V Croatia unveils stage splits and Barbarella’s afterparties for 2026 edition

More than 100 artists are revealed across five days and five stages at The Garden Resort and Barbarella’s, 16th-20th July 2026, with AZYR, Ben Klock, Restricted, Hannah Laing ,Interplanetary Criminal, 999999999, Novah and among the headliners.

Terminal V Croatia has revealed the day-by-day stage splits for its 2026 return to Tisno, with more than 100 artists performing across five days from 16th-20th July 2026. Headline names include AZYR, Ben Klock, Restricted, Hannah Laing, Interplanetary Criminal,  999999999, KiNK, Len Faki, Ewan McVicar and Novah performing across The Garden Resort’s open-air spaces, the Beach Stage, Olive Grove, The Yard and The Pier, plus the legendary Barbarella’s Discotheque.

Curated takeovers include Spanish leading hard techno brand Blackworks as well Athens-based collective Velocity, while boat party lineups from 23:59, BCCO, Dangerous Goods, E1 London, HardBeats, Music Reactions, Nordstern, Novel, Shine, Slither will be announced later in May.

The site’s easy-to-navigate layout includes beachside dancefloors, shaded woodland areas and high-spec production for a continuous day-to-night experience. Alongside the music, the festival offers the chance to explore the surrounding Adriatic coastline, local cuisine and daytime activities including swimming, watersports and island excursions.

Each day presents a distinct flow across the site, from high-energy beach sessions and sunset sets to late-night programming and sunrise after-hours. The stage breakdown reflects Terminal V’s careful balance between established headliners and emerging talent, with back-to-back sets, live performances and label showcases woven throughout the schedule.

Thursday opens with a strong introduction to the Beach Stage, where Mischluft b2b Pegassi, SPFDJ b2b ØTTA, Mija and David Löhlein set the tone alongside a mix of emerging artists. The Yard progressing harder throughout the first night with sets from KiNK, Cera Khin and Daria Kolosova b2b Fumi, Novah and Natte Visstick. 

Friday builds more momentum with Mall Grab headlining the Beach Stage alongside Bella Claxton and Bad Boombox. Over in the Olive Grove, a heavyweight techno focus comes through Ben Klock, Daria Kolosova and Alarico, while The Yard goes in tough with Restricted, Nikolina Jowi and more.

Saturday goes deeper and harder. The Beach Stage features Clouds, Faster Horses, Kyle Starkey and STÜM throughout the day, while the Olive Grove hosts a standout night run with Len Faki, SHDW and a live performance from Stef Mendesidis. With Azyr leading The Yard stage alongside Jazzy, and Vendex.

Sunday spans a wide spectrum, from the Beach Stage’s mix of Hannah Laing, Southstar and Miss Bashful to the Olive Grove’s Velocity takeover with techno mainstays including Ellen Allien, Héctor Oaks and Elli Acula. The Yard hosts a Blackworks takeover featuring 999999999, Aslo, Charlie Sparks, Moraitov, Toxic Machinery and Dexphase b2b Skryption.

Monday closes the festival with a wide-ranging Beach Stage bringing together Anetha, Ewan McVicar and Patrick Mason, while The Yard sends things off with a hard techno finale from Trym, Onlynumbers and Nicolas Julian. With the festival rolling out until sunrise!

The Terminal V Croatia after hours ritual will return for three after-hours nights, each with its own distinct sound, where dancing carries on until sunrise at one of Europe’s most revered open-air venues, Barbarella’s. The first is Friday 17th July with Alarico b2b Ben Klock, on the 18th AZYR plays a sunrise set and on the 19th, Interplanetary Criminal, Faster Horses b2b Sam Alfred, and Dr. G b2b Kim Swim.

HYPER JAPAN Festival Returns For Even Bigger And Better 2026 Edition

HYPER JAPAN Festival will return for its 2026 edition at Olympia London from 24–26 July. The UK’s largest Japanese culture festival promises an unforgettable weekend of music, food, fashion, gaming, workshops and shopping, and this year will be bigger and better than ever with over 530 exhibitors. ATTRACTIONS & ACTIVITIES
 
HYPER JAPAN Festival is bursting with interactive experiences and activities that celebrate all sides of Japanese culture. New for this year will be a dedicated gaming area, where visitors can discover the originality of Japan’s indie game scene. Emerging developers will showcase their bold ideas and distinctive gameplay in the booth, and visitors can get hands on with a curated selection of titles that highlight the creativity shaping Japan’s next generation of game design.
 
Virtual Stage Productions will be creating a new virtual stage at HYPER JAPAN this year, featuring 30+ VTubers, iconic virtual artist IA and much more. Forbidden Planet will also be exhibiting at HYPER JAPAN for the very first time.
 
MAISON GHIBLI, the manufacturer and distributor working directly with STUDIO GHIBLI for Europe, will return this year to offer official STUDIO GHIBLI products. Target Darts Japan will also host an interactive play zone, where people can experience the precision, creativity and energy of Japanese darts culture up close.
 
 
MAIN STAGE HIGHLIGHTS
 
The Main Stage at HYPER JAPAN Festival has welcomed some of the biggest and brightest names in Japanese culture, and this year is no different. Joining the bill are:
 

  • Popular Japanese band QUEEN BEE, who have been creating a buzz with their unique and intense performances since 2009.
  • avantgardey, the viral dance group produced by choreographer akane. The group gained popularity via TikTok and Instagram, with over 5 million followers, and reached the finals of America’s Got Talent in 2023.
  • Japanese singer songwriter Eir Aoi, who is known for her powerful vocal range and outstanding expressive ability and has earned passionate support from anime fans around the world.
  • Chiaki Kobayashi, talented voice actor who is affiliated with Office Osawa and known for standout roles in the likes of ‘Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku’ and ‘The Summer Hikaru Died’.
  • Three-piece rock band THE SIXTH LIE, who have performed the ending theme for hugely popular anime ‘Golden Kamuy’ twice. The band have played all around the world, including at HYPER JAPAN in London previously.
  • Talented Japanese singer and acoustic guitarist UPIKO, who is best known for her single ‘Crow’.

 
FOOD & DRINK
 
A major highlight of HYPER JAPAN Festival is its vibrant celebration of Japanese food & drink, bringing the authentic flavours of Japan to the heart of London. Visitors can enjoy freshly made donburi, onigiri, sizzling wagyu skewers, yakisoba, karaage, omurice and more – plus bubble waffles, mochi and bubble tea.
 
This year, visitors can once again experience an authentic taste of Japan’s beloved izakaya drinking culture at the Suntory Toki Highball Bar and -196 bar, showcasing Suntory whisky and fruity alcoholic beverages. In addition, guests can enjoy the refreshing, and subtly sweet MIO Sparkling Sake, a popular Japanese sparkling sake perfect for those seeking a lighter, effervescent drink.
 
There will be more food and drinks options than ever before with exhibitors from Eggcellence (bubble waffles), KANPAI London Craft Sake, Panda Cha Tea, Mama’s Onigiri, KOFUKU (sushi tacos), Ai No Mochi, Little Bao Boy and many more.
 
HYPER JAPAN MARKET
 
The HYPER JAPAN Market will feature over 530 exhibitors this year, featuring some incredible independent artists and creators. Visitors can shop everything from traditional Japanese tableware and incense to anime figures and fashion. Plus, an irresistible range of Japanese snacks, Kewpie products, and premium sake, including umeshu, MIO sparkling sake and liqueurs.
 
WORKSHOPS
 
The workshops at HYPER JAPAN Festival offer some incredible hands-on opportunities to experience the diverse culture of Japan – from traditional Japanese confectionery making (nerikiri wagashi) to arts and crafts, martial arts to music – including free workshops on the likes of Shogi, Beyblade and calligraphy. Roundhay Festival: More acts revealed for Lewis Capaldi’s headline show

American Express presents Roundhay Festival, the newest highlight of Leeds’s 2026 summer cultural calendar, welcomes Scottish superstar Lewis Capaldi on Saturday 4 July. Today, five more exciting acts have been announced to join Lewis: Jessie Murph, Kerr Mercer, Nieve Ella, Ber and Amex Unsigned artist, Maya Lane, alongside previously announced special guests Conan Gray and Jacob Alon. More artists to be announced, for tickets visit www.roundhayfestival.com 

Growing up in a small town in the American South, Jessie Murph has emerged as one of the most compelling new voices in modern music, turning early rejection into fuel for a rapidly rising career. Blending trap, R&B, pop and raw country influence, she’s built a sound that is emotionally unfiltered and unmistakably her own. Murph first broke through with a wave of viral momentum on social media before releasing her 2023 mixtape drowning, featuring standout tracks like “Always Been You”. The project quickly established her as a Gen Z artist unafraid to confront heartbreak, identity and personal struggle head-on.

From there, she leaned further into her Southern roots and cross-genre instincts, releasing a string of acclaimed singles and collaborations with artists including Jelly Roll, Maren Morris, Koe Wetzel and Bailey Zimmerman. Her 2025 viral run, driven by tracks like Gucci Mane and Blue Strips, led into her third album Sex Hysteria, further cementing her reputation for fearless, emotionally charged songwriting. Defined by her powerhouse vocals, Jessie Murph continues to carve out a space entirely her own and we’re excited to have her join Roundhay Festival for its debut year.

Another Scottish rising star, Kerr Mercer is bringing his powerhouse soulful-pop to Sunday’s line-up with the full approval of Lewis Capaldi, who has helped support his nascent career and written a song with him. Mercer cites soul greats like Sam Cooke, Ray Charles and Etta James as influences and has also supported Myles Smith and Teddy Swims. His raw, emotive vocals and masterful piano work have quickly built him a fervent grassroots following and his singles “Alcohol” and “0:01” have been breaking through nationwide. Armed with a voice that demands to be heard, Mercer is poised to deliver a genuine, heart-on-his-sleeve set to grab Roundhay Park.

Nieve Ella continues her unstoppable ascent, evolving from bedroom-pop beginnings into a confident, guitar-led indie force. With her standout 2024 EP Watch It Ache And Bleed and a run of acclaimed singles, she has cemented herself as a fiercely relatable voice in modern indie music. Kicking off her new era with the single “Drive,” she explores a moodier, more nocturnal sound-expanding the sonic world first introduced on her 2024 EP. The track marks the beginning of a new chapter for the Shropshire-born songwriter, one defined by growing confidence, maturity and creative ambition. Having already impressed on major UK tours and supported artists such as DYLAN and Girl in Red, Nieve Ella continues to translate her emotionally charged songwriting into powerful, high-impact live performances.

Hailing from Minnesota, Ber (AKA Berit Dybing) celebrates finding true love and her “best life” on her debut alt-pop/country album, Good, Like It Should Be. The 12-track project, which came out earlier this year, was mostly written on a small Korg recorder in Wisconsin and Minnesota, as a “time capsule” also focused on self-acceptance and inward reflection. Featuring co-writes and production from Rob Milton (Holly Humberstone) and Bradley Hale (Bon Iver), the album includes the Chicks-esque single “Give It All Away” about realising self-power, the upbeat opener “Good, Real,” and the tongue-in-cheek country-pop “Who’s This.” 

London singer Maya Lane’s Pop Country/Folk style draws influences from the likes of Fleetwood Mac, Kacey Musgraves, HAIM and Joni Mitchell. In her short career, Maya has accumulated 3 million streams, picking up editorial playlists on Spotify and Apple music. Her singles have been played multiple times by Mollie King on Radio 1’s Future Pop show and she has received support from blogs and national newspapers. 2024 and 2025 have seen her support Far From Saints, Alyssa Bonagura, Jack Kane, Margo Price and BRELAND  on their UK and EU tours, perform at The Great Escape, SXSW London, The Long Road, BST Hyde Park and Country 2 Country at The O2, all in between her self promoted living room tours where she travels around the UK playing shows in fans living rooms! 

Roundhay Park is steeped in music history, having hosted legendary performances from the likes of Madonna, The Rolling Stones and, more recently, Ed Sheeran. This year it will host live music from some of the world’s biggest stars. In addition to Lewis Capaldi’s show, “Mr. Worldwide” himself, Pitbull brings his incredible show to Roundhay Festival on Friday 3 July. 

Lewis Capaldi’s huge show in Leeds is a fitting centrepiece for one of Britain’s most popular artists. A joyous appearance at Noah Kahan’s BST Hyde Park set last year sparked a rapturous welcome from fans. In November, Capaldi released his new EP, ‘Survive’ and the title track became the fastest-selling UK single of 2025, marking his sixth UK Number 1. Capaldi joined Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Drake, Lady Gaga & Queen in achieving six UK number 1 singles. The beloved Scottish singer played a sold-out 17-date UK arena tour recently too. The response was electric, with critics unanimous in their praise, delivering four and five-star reviews across the board.

Now, Capaldi is making his ultimate comeback performing at Roundhay Festival on Saturday 4 July and at BST Hyde Park on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 July.

Roundhay Park, one of Europe’s largest city parks, spans over 700 acres of lakes, woodlands,

formal gardens, playgrounds and the Tropical World visitor attraction. Legendary acts that have performed at the park include The Rolling Stones (1982), Genesis (1987), Madonna (1987), Michael Jackson (1988), U2 (1997) and Ed Sheeran (2019). Roundhay Festival will showcase unforgettable performances in Leeds this summer.
