American Express presents BST Hyde Park’s much loved classical music experience, All Things Orchestral, returns to Hyde Park for a third year as part of the Open House programme on Thursday 10 July. Hosted once more by Myleene Klass, the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra – conducted by Ben Palmer – will whisk the audience on a journey through time, celebrating Cinematic Classics and orchestral favourites to include Star Wars, Indiana Jones and a special segment to commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day.

All Things Orchestral is particularly excited to be linking with Marvel Studios to present the exclusive world premiere of The Fantastic Four: First Steps orchestral suite written by Academy Award®-winning composer and director Michael Giacchino as part of the launch of the new film.  This will offer a rare insight into the creative process of one of Hollywood’s most inventive musical voices, ahead of his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as composer.

FIRL is made up of Eos Counsell (violin, programming) and Gay-Yee Westerhoff (cello, piano/keyboards), two of the founding members of the groundbreaking classical crossover group BOND, the most successful string quartet of all time, with five million albums sold and counting. In addition to being part of BOND, both Eos and Gay-Yee regularly contribute to soundtracks for film and TV, and have recorded for and worked with some of the biggest names around. A brand new adventure for these two accomplished musicians, FIRL’s debut album Wildwood is a collection of cinematic, nature-inspired compositions for cello, violin, piano and birdsong. FIRL recently launched their debut album at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall. This record incorporates memories of the temperate rainforests of Wales (Eos’s homeland), to Japan and the deep- rooted connection with nature that we all share.

Internationally acclaimed baritone Benjamin Appl joins the line-up for All Things Orchestral. Renowned for his expressive performances and described as having a voice “that belongs to the last of the old great masters of song” (Süddeutsche Zeitung), Appl has appeared at major venues including Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, the Concertgebouw and the Elbphilharmonie. A Gramophone Young Artist of the Year and former BBC New Generation Artist, he regularly performs with leading orchestras such as the Royal Concertgebouw, Staatskapelle Dresden and the Philadelphia Orchestra, bringing a rare blend of emotional depth and vocal mastery to every stage he graces.

Academy Award®-winning composer and director Michael Giacchino, the creative force behind some of the most iconic scores in contemporary cinema including Up, The Incredibles, The Batman, Spider-Man: No Way Home and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story joins All Things Orchestral to introduce the brand-new music from Marvel Studios’ upcoming film, the cinematic event of the summer The Fantastic Four: First Steps, out in UK cinemas on 24 July, starring Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. Known for his sweeping cinematic flair and emotional depth, Giacchino’s work has earned him an Oscar®, Golden Globe®, BAFTA and multiple GRAMMY®s.

They will be joined by Ben Palmer, Artistic Director of Covent Garden Sinfonia and Chief Conductor of both the Orchestra da Camera di Pordenone and Babylon Orchester Berlin, is a leading conductor renowned for his work with major orchestras worldwide including the London and Montreal Symphony Orchestras. He is one of the most sought-after specialists in live-to-picture and studio conducting, having been personally authorised by John Williams to conduct his film scores in concert, and praised by Hans Zimmer as “a masterclass in conducting.”

Returning to compère for a third year, TV and radio presenter, classically trained musician, bestselling author and passionate campaigner, Myleene Klass has hosted major shows like The Classic BRITs, Popstar to OperaStar, The One Show and Musical Masterpieces, presented on Classic FM and Smooth Radio since 2006 and 2014 respectively, and released multiple No.1 classical albums alongside Sunday Times bestselling parenting books.

For his first ever UK performance, Riley Green is heading to the Great Oak Stage at BST Hyde Park! Riley Green has been compelling Country music fans to raise a drink, shed a tear, and, above all, celebrate where they are from, since first releasing his self-titled EP in 2018. His songs like the Platinum hit ‘There Was This Girl’, the 2x Platinum-certified heart-tugger ‘I Wish Grandpas Never Died’, and his chart-topping collab with Thomas Rhett, ‘Half of Me’, have made Riley synonymous with what Country music does best: making listeners feel something with his no-gimmick, relatable writing and classic feel. With summer just around the corner, we’re delighted to announce that Anne-Marie, Elle King and Natalie Imbruglia will be joining the queen of country pop. The UK’s own Anne-Marie’s rise to stardom has been nothing short of meteoric. A former 3x world karate champion and West End child star turned multi-platinum-selling artist, Anne-Marie has gone on to become one of the world’s most-loved and successful pop stars of our time. She’s known for her chart-topping hits ‘Friends,’ ‘Alarm,’ ‘Ciao Adios’, and ‘2002,’ and has collaborated with everyone from Aitch to David Guetta. Last year, she stunned fans worldwide when she and Shania Twain released the pop banger of the summer ‘Unhealthy’, taken from her album of the same name, which shot into the UK charts at No.2.

Multi-Platinum artist Elle King first gained widespread recognition with her debut album Love Stuff, which featured the hit single ‘Ex’s & Oh’s.’ She released her critically-acclaimed second album Shake The Spirit in 2018 featuring the lead single and King’s fourth radio No. 1 hit ‘Shame’. King’s incredibly powerful voice and signature style, with elements of rock, blues, country, and pop, means she’s impossible to miss and we are so excited to welcome her to BST Hyde Park.  

Another artist with pure star power joins this bill. Natalie Imbruglia, known for her smash hit ‘Torn’, first rose to fame in 1997 with her debut album Left of the Middle. She continued to find success with albums like White Lilies Island and Counting Down the Days. Alongside her incredible music career, she ventured into acting and TV, including a stint as a judge on The X Factor. After a hiatus, she returned to music in 2015 with ‘Male’, a collection of covers, followed by her original album Firebird in 2021. With these three joining Shania’s all female bill alongside The Corrs, BST Hyde Park is in for a very special day of music.

Andrea Bocelli announces special guests for headline BST Hyde Park show

Recognised as the UK’s most in-demand orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra (RPCO) will join Andrea Bocelli, conducted by Michele Spotti. The RPCO is a dynamic and versatile ensemble that performs a wide range of styles and genres of music in shows across the UK and around the world.

She is regularly acclaimed by both critics and audiences for her vocal agility, purity of tone, impeccable technique and hugely engaging stage presence. Sierra stands as a beacon of excellence in the world of opera, having appeared on many significant stages, and as she continues to ascend to new heights in her career, she can now add the Great Oak Stage at BST Hyde Park to that list.

Isabel Leonard, the x3 Grammy-winning mezzo-soprano hailed for her exquisite voice and profound artistry, takes centre stage once again to dazzle audiences with her unparalleled talent. With a repertoire spanning from classic operatic masterpieces to contemporary works, Leonard’s versatility and depth of expression have earned her acclaim on stages worldwide. Known for her rich, velvety tone and magnetic stage presence, she effortlessly embodies each character she portrays, captivating audiences with her emotional depth and consummate skill.

Praised as one of the most original, eclectic and visionary theatrical minds of his generation, Luca Micheletti is also an acclaimed baritone, celebrated for his powerful voice and stirring interpretations. After having studied music in his childhood, his encounter with Maestro Mario Malagnini marked the beginning of his career as professional opera singer. With a repertoire that spans the grandest operatic stages of the world, Micheletti’s vocal prowess and emotive performances have garnered widespread acclaim. Crouch End Festival Chorus is one of Britain’s leading symphonic choirs with a reputation nationally and internationally for its eclectic repertoire, innovation and versatility in both the concert hall and recording studio. Based in north London, the choir was founded in 1984 by David Temple and John Gregson. With around 150 singers on their books, they are known for a wide range of vocal skills – performing and recording specially commissioned pieces as well as the traditional classical works from the 16th to 21st centuries.
