It is a very welcome return for Regina, who first played the Garden back in 2005 when she was just starting out. Now lauded as one of the most talented songwriters of her generation there is precious little that the Russian born songstress hasn’t achieved. Her music has graced television and film around the world and won her a multitude of fervent admirers including Barack and Michelle Obama for whom she performed at The White House in 2010.

Regina says:

"I'm so excited to return this summer and play The Secret Garden Party! Whenever I'm gone for a while I really start to miss the UK!

It's amazing to get to play this festival again. It is full of people who are really passionate about music. Thanks for having me!"

Regina Spektor

Also confirmed are Swedish indie-rockers the Shout Out Louds. Having just released their fourth album ‘Optica’ to much critical acclaim the Stockholm- based quintet are famed for their mesmerising live shows and multi-layered harmony. Spanning ten years their musical CV includes a globetrotting tour with The Strokes and a single release on a record made entirely of ice – you really can’t get cooler than that…

Watch out for American folk-starlet Lissie who has collaborated with the likes of Band Of Horses, Robbie Williams and Snow Patrol; synth-toting troubadour Youth Lagoon; UK buzz band Temples and Willy Mason to name a few.

And in other news….

ACTION CAMPS, THEATRE, PARTICIPATION

This summer’s theme ‘superstition’ brings all kinds of strange and bizarre action camps into the Garden, each one lovingly programmed by fellow gardeners and promising to captivate, charm, hypnotise, enchant and enthrall you. Here are just a few of the many, many camps you’ll find at the party this summer…

Open up the doors to discover what may be lurking behind. Located in a land of beasts Monsters Inkwill provide hours of daytime entertainment for Gardeners. Draw out your inner monsters and rid the Garden of your beasts.

But if the monsters unnerve you why not channel your creativity at The Bohemian Artists’ Studio – the aficionados of festival life drawing, return once more to Secret Garden Party. Strike a pose and be forever immortalised on canvas by our virtuoso artistes at an evenings’ entertainment worthy of the most refined and discerning of reprobates.

Tongue of toad and eye of cod; be sure to visit the Witches of Odd. Enter the witches’ lair into a world of magic, spell chanting, potion mixing, join in on a traditional binding spell and make a wish for your inner most desires to come true or even cast a spell to determine the fate of other gardeners.

Perhaps you might stumble across the unlucky No.13 Club, a very superstitious 80’s neon micro disco, perfect for a moment of superstitious solitude. Release all inhibitions and dance your heart out.

After years of burying all you Gardeners, Funeral Camp makes an epic return as the Cult of the Sturdy Virgins. Their ritualistic death methods have enhanced their own supernatural powers through the manipulation of dark energies.  WHATEVER your gripe… they have the answer. Visit their Supernatural Hospital Camp, they’ve assured us their occult practises and ceremonies have been tried and tested. Enhance your spiritual deficits resulting in sense of alleviation.

ARTFUL BADGERS

Emerging from the mists of the deep dark Badger Woods the Artful Badgers underground campaign for world domination begins in earnest this year, as they march out roaring, to take on the new beautifully landscaped Amphitheatre. Here all manners of wild and unprecedented badger antics will pepper a program of their most diverse live music line-ups to date.  Occult ceremonies, animal dance, pagan circus, bizarre performance art and wild fire shows, join their in-house team of immersive theatrics and ecstatic dancers to bring the woods alive with the shadows of joyful woodland creatures.

The Feral Fever DJ Stage will boast some of the most spectacular laser shows ever seen under a leafy canopy, with wild beats from an extraordinary line up of mystery superstar DJs.  Heady Balearic rhythms, deep dance floor journeys and old school uplifting classics will be brought to life by a crystal clear system, our thumping dance crew and the flying wonders of aerialists suspended from our old man oak tree.  Journeying on sound doesn't get better placed than this.

Badger Bingo returns to the homely bar space and the warm twangs of the northern bingo caller will make you at home in an appropriate realm of wrongness. And the lonely hearts need not go home empty handed amongst all the ecstatic joy, as Badger Dating returns to spread the Badger Love and help you break through any blocks to your eternal happiness with another.

The badger continues to help you break through on all levels, presenting mystical afternoons of their trademark WILD workshops: including Shamanic Journeying, 5 Rhythms Ecstatic Dance, Mask Making and Dance your Naked Truth: a small graze on the surface of our deeper shamanic selves – where better to explore that than in the warm womb of the woods.

All in all, the badgers intend not only for you to never leave the underworld of the badgers once you have entered, but that when you eventually do, you will be so thoroughly grounded, feralised, expressed, refreshed and enthralled that there will be no other way to put it than to say, "I got seriously badgered this weekend!'. Bring it on.

FEAST OF FOOLS

Roll up! Roll up! Roll up! Stroll around our fayreground imaginarium where Alkhemysts ply their trade & tricksters work their craft, where tattooed ladies rub shoulders with tarot readers & circus lads & bearded ladies vie for your attention. Come m’dearios & taste our wares… feast your eyes on our Hoochie Coochie girls, wet your whistles at the Honeymoon Tavern & be merry with our Tarts & Tramps. The legendary Feast of Fools has unleashed a delicious taster line-up for this summer.

The Burning Man Project has shown us the way when it comes to installation art in the Garden; free from the gallery and as interactive as possible. Once again, the Secret Arts Foundation has embraced this concept whole-heartedly and for the party this summer have pledged to fund and support art which is interactive in its approach, participatory in its social stance and emotive in its realisation.

This summer the Garden will be alive with interactive art created by some of the finest contemporary artists from across the Globe. There will be plenty of unique pieces commissioned especially for the party for Gardeners to discover, climb over, crawl under and dance around.

In previous years Secret Arts has championed projects such as the towering robots made from scrap; street art from Europe; shrines from San Fransico; Cartoon Confessionals from Tony Husband; giant floating islands that defied the laws of physics; tunnelled labyrinths; flocked treesand of course the infamous lake stage installations…. including a pirate ship; a blimp; a dragonfly; figure heads of the ages and many more…

Work is already in full swing for this summer’s art installations. More information on this summer’s incredible artists and collectives coming soon.

This video, filmed for Secret Arts during the weeks in the run up to last summer’s party, gives us a sneak peak into just a fraction of the hard work and love which went into last summer’s art installations.

FAMILY GARDENERS

There are lots of things for young Gardeners to see and do at the party too. There are family friendly action camps, theatre, art works and fairground rides dotted throughout the garden, as well as a dedicated kids camp which provides a fun, creative haven for young Gardeners.  Some of our favourite workshops taking place in Kids Camp this summer include Aunty Dots magic science experiments & weather casting, Bling Your Thing craft space, supernatural Stick Men making, Mr Wolf Shadow Puppets and pizza making.  There will also be plenty of theatre from the likes of the Flying Seagulls.

Frank Ocean, Rita Ora and more added to T in the Park lineup

LA collective Odd Future (OFWGKTA) are one of the freshest, most inventive hip-hop groups around, and three of their finest lyrical talents Frank Ocean, Tyler, the Creator and Earl Sweatshirt will add a dose of West Coast swagger to the T in the Park line-up this July. After first making an impression on the charts as a songwriter for acts including John Legend and Beyoncé, Frank Ocean emerged into the spotlight when he hooked up with Odd Future. The self-released nostalgia, ULTRA.mixtape, plus gems like Novacane and Swim Good cemented his reputation as a star in his own right and caught the attention of  Kanye West and Jay-Z, who he went on to collaborate on their Watch the Throne album. Critics across the globe heaped praise on his debut studio album Channel Orange, and 2013 got off to a winning streak when he bagged both a Grammy and a BRIT Award. His T in the Park debut this July is not to be missed.

Fellow Odd Future member (and the collective’s leader and co-founder) Tyler, the Creator is also Kinross-bound this July. The rapper, writer and producer extraordinaire began making music with fellow collective members Earl Sweatshirt, Left Brain, and Hodgy Beats in 2007, and since then their loyal following has rapidly grown to become a world-wide fanbase. The rapper’s T in the Park set will showcase material from his forthcoming album Wolf – the follow-up to 2011’s acclaimed GoblinLP – which is released next month.

At only 18 years old, Earl Sweatshirt is Odd Future’s prodigal son and a hugely talented lyricist and performer in his own right. Following a brief hiatus the rapper is back and at the top of his game. He wowed a packed crowd of critics and tastemakers alike at SXSW last week, and anticipation for the release of his forthcoming album Doris is reaching fever pitch.

Rita Ora

Rita Ora made British chart history as the vocalist on one of the first ever drum and bass number one singles in the UK, DJ Fresh’s Hot Right Now. She followed this breakout success by topping the charts with her own debut album, which spawned another two number-one singles How We Do (Party) and R.I.P. A style icon, she counts mentor Jay-Z and fellow T in the Park act Snoop Dogg amongst her many fans (with Snoop hand-picking her to feature on his latest single, Torn Apart). After a stand-out performance at T in the Park last summer, she brings her sassy party anthems back to Kinross for the festival’s 20th year celebrations.

Over 85,000 festival-goers per day will descend on Kinross over 12th – 14th July for the 20th year of T in the Park, which will feature some of the world’s greatest acts, including Main Stage headliners Mumford & SonsRihanna and The Killers, plusChase and Status, Stereophonics, Calvin Harris, Kraftwerk, David Guetta, Emeli Sandé, Snoop Dogg, Beady Eye, Dizzee Rascal, Foals, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Azealia Banks, Kendrick Lamar, Disclosure, Rudimental, Haim, Chvrches, Modestep and many more.

Bastille, Chase & Status & Tinie Tempah to perform at Ibiza and Mallorca Rocks

Chase and Status and Tinie Tempah – two of the defining artists of the past 5 years coming back with new albums and bigger shows plus one of the most important guitar bands of the decade, Franz Ferdinand. Four chart-topping exceptional live acts for back-to-back headline shows in the Balearics.

Bastille, fronted by UK singer/songwriter Dan Smith, just released debut album Bad Blood and went straight to the top of the UK album charts, with No.2 single Pompeii taking over the airwaves across Europe.  A ‘must see’ live act on the festival scene this summer, Rocks is delighted to have Bastille on the bill.  Support comes from hotly tipped and indefinable Bristol mob The Other Tribe.  Championed by both indie and electronic music lovers, the band cross musical boundaries and their illustrious new single Skirts is as infectious as their live set.

Bastille
Bastille’s Dan Smith saidWe’re really looking forward to getting out to Ibiza and Mallorca for the first time. Being able to play a gig and then go to the beach will be a massive novelty, and it’ll be nice to see a bit of proper summer and try to head to some of the massive clubs as well. I hear the Rocks gigs are great and we've been told they throw a pretty decent party so it should be a lot of fun."

Having first smashed the charts with their killer hit Take Me Out and their self-titled debut album in 2002, Glasgow boys Franz Ferdinand are back, and Balearic bound. They’ve ticked off a Mercury Music Prize, BRIT Awards for Best British Group and Best British Rock Act, NME Awards, multiple Grammy Award nominations, sold over 3 million albums worldwide and are soon to release their hugely anticipated fourth studio album. This band were a huge influence on Ibiza Rocks, helping fuel the concept of promoting gigs for 'dance kids who rock and rock kids who dance.' Rocks is exceptionally proud to be bringing one of the world’s best live bands to make their debut on the famous open-air Rocks stage in Mallorca and Ibiza this summer.

Alex Kapranos said: “This is the first time we've been to Ibiza Rocks, so are looking forward to it. Paul's been and told us all about it, so we're expecting a great crowd there and Mallorca.”

Chase and Status are undoubtedly one of the most exciting and successful British bands of the past decade. Their double platinum, second album No More Idols sold over 600,000 copies in the UK alone and spawned over 2 million single sales. They were the biggest selling band in the UK in 2011, behind Coldplay, sold out tour after tour in the UK, Europe, US and Australia and played live at 36 festivals around the world last summer. Phenomenal track Big Man with Liam Bailey has provided a taster of what’s to come from their highly anticipated third album, due for release in summer.

Chase and Status said: “We’re excited to bring our live show to Ibiza Rocks again this summer – the crowds at Ibiza and Mallorca Rocks are always amazing!”

Chase & StatusTinie Tempah is no stranger to the Rocks stage and always puts on an extra special show – last time he performed he bound off stage and stunned fans by reappearing to perform from their bedroom balcony.   Since becoming the undisputed breakout star of 2010, Tinie’s career has soared. Debut single Pass Out exploded around the globe and follow up tracks Frisky, Written in the Stars and Miami 2 Ibiza all had the same effect. Debut album Disc-Overy is still regarded as one of the most refreshing and confident UK debuts of all time.  Back to headline, live under the stars, Tinie Tempah is sure to showcase new material from his highly anticipated second album Demonstration and to put on a high-energy show packed with smash hits and more surprises.

BastilleFranz FerdinandChase and Status, Tinie Tempah and The Other Tribe join previously announced actsJake Bugg, Rizzle Kicks, The Vaccines, Example, Ellie GouldingDizzee Rascal, FoalsPalma VioletsJagwar Maand Redlight on the incredible line-up of chart-toppers and festival favourites who are Balearic bound this summer.MTV UK will be the exclusive TV host, bringing millions of people closer to the action when it broadcasts the live footage on MTV Music and MTV Live HD.

The Los Angeles band reunite this year, six years after their last album and is guaranteed to be a triumphant return to the stage of all its original members who will experience Sonar by Night. DJ Nu-Mark, Cut Chemist, Chali 2Na and company are undisputed masters in the art of beats and rhymes whose countless hits are already part of the collective memory in lovers of the genre and indeed music fans in general. What a treat…

Bat For Lashes, the project by the charismatic Natasha Khan, a British singer-songwriter (with Pakistani origin) of enormous talent, and one of the most interesting voices on the international scene. Khan will present her most recent praised work “The Haunting Man”, a formidable collection of contemporary synth pop at what will be her very first Sonar performance.

Beyond being one of the pillars of dubstep, Skream has now become a more mature musician and dj, capable of mixing (like few others), all genres of today’s dance music with a master’s touch. His session at SonarPub on Saturday falls between two heavyweights Justice and Laurent Garnier, where he is sure to surprise more than a few.

Luciano has had an extensive career in some of the worlds best dj booths, demonstrating his versatility, with a style that in recent years has moved between minimal techno and percussive house. He is therefore the perfect man to close Saturday night at SonarClub.

Meanwhile, young Alvin Risk will show us his skills on the decks, which have earned him the right to include himself as part of the new breed of young producers and djs in American electronica. Not surprisingly, he will play just ahead of the Skrillex performance, the most visible face of the new revolution on U.S. dancefloors.

Also joining the Sonar Night, national maximalist and synthesizer magician Alizzz, the versatile and audacious Thug Ladies djs, as well as Barcelona dj duo Kimberly & Clarke, with a moombathon session.

The Sónar Pass, the 2-Night Ticket, the individual tickets for Sónar by Day and Sónar by Night, and the professional accreditation are now ALL on sale via www.sonar.es.

Today’s Top Rated European dance music labels at SonarCar

SonarCar, the bumper cars stage, returns to Sónar by Night as a meeting point with a reputation to surprise. It will showcase some of the most important labels and major European collectives in the current landscape of electronic dance.

50Weapons, Modeselektor’s label, has demonstrated a finely tuned taste in the selection of its catalogue. It’s showcase presents four of their latest signings: young Welshman Benjamin Damage, veterans Anstam y Phon.o, and one of the most promising artists in French electronica, Bambonou.

Rush Hour is synonymous with work of the highest quality. Number one record store and distributor, for several years it has been one of the most reliable operations on the continent. The Dutch brand will present San Proper ‘live’ and a session by one of its founders,dj Antal.

The musical programming of Italian public broadcaster Radio 2advocates the modern and daring, as the sound of the Life and Death label output who will present two of their most prominent artists at Sonar by Night: Clockwork feat. Atavism and Vaal.

Based in Barcelona, Suara have earned their reputation across the continent among lovers of quality techno dance music, resulting in some their most important flag bearers like Coyu (founder) or Edu Imbernon continuously playing on both sides of the Atlantic.

Finally, Nehuen and Cardopusher have been chosen to close Saturday night at SonarCar. Two lovers of old drum machines; they are responsible for a new national movement of house and techno with the Classicworks analog flavor. Sonar visit Japan from 5th – 8th April: The 6th and 7th being the 6th edition of SonarSound Tokyo, with the 5th and 8th of the same month being held as the 1st edition of A Taste of Sónar Osaka.

The festival in the Japanese capital also includes new names; among those who standout are Alec Empire (powerful musician and noise lover and founder of the legendary Atari Teenage Riot) and British DJ and producer Pinch (influential cornerstone of dubstep and its derivatives from his Tectonic label).

Also, the festival adds new and relevant representatives from the Japanese scene, such as agraphDJ NobuMadeggSoichiro Tonaka and nisennenmondai.

Bat For Lashes and more added to Flow Festival lineup

One of the most admired songwriters of her generation, Bat For Lashes, is added to the Flow Festival’s lineup. The British Natasha Khan aka Bat For Lashes released her eagerly waited third album, The Haunted Man, last autumn. It is further proof of Khan's unerring ability to create a consistent masterpiece out of unique pop songs – one of them was the single Laura, one of 2012's most praised songs. The artist is known for her intense gigs, so expectations are high for her Flow performance.

Other additions to this summer's Flow are Californian Julia Holter, whose experimental pop has astounded audiences and critics and Scottish top producer and DJ Hudson Mohawke. The program also saw additions from the domestic scene with psychedelic garage rock band Black Lizard, Jaakko Eino Kalevi's bright and vibrant electro, and one of the most recent success stories of the Finnish indie scene, Aino Venna.

Flow Festival is also launching its new Magazine section online. The publication breaks the boundaries of traditional festival websites and also features content loosely related to the festival. There will be fresh insights on Flow artists and their music, texts on general cultural phenomena as well as reports on how the festival is coming together and Flow's ten-year history.

First to headline Latitude’s magnificent Obelisk Arena on the Friday will be Bloc Party, whose recent triumphant return to form has been welcomed by fans and critics alike. On Saturday evening German electronic pioneers Kraftwerk will take to the stage, this performance will be a rare chance for festival goers to witness one of the most influential bands of all time performing their highly celebrated 3-D concert. Oxford quintet Foals have proven themselves to be one of the UK’s most dynamic and accomplished bands of recent times, further supported by their Ivor Novello and Mercury Music Prize nominations and NME Award Best Song gongs. Known for creative precision, Foals are preparing a closing show to be remembered for years to come.

Bloc Party

Yannis from Foals comments on their headline appearance: “Latitude is always exciting, because they offer a very tasteful selection of acts. For our band, it’s an honour to headline alongside someone of the calibre of Kraftwerk – they can do whatever they like, they’re unique and you know they’re going to put on an incredible show. Bloc Party will be fantastic headliners too.”

Other special appearances across the music stages include exclusive UK festival performances from the heroes of the Tex-Mex sound Calexico, the sonically adventurous sister act, CocoRosie,  and the only 2013 UK live show from dancefloor favourites Hot Chip and Mark Lanegan Band. Joining them with Latitude exclusive performances will be band of the moment, Rhye, whose slinky, sensual R&B pop is currently bewitching tastemakers, the transfixing The Tallest Man on Earth, one of 2013’s most intriguing and sort after electronic acts Sohn, Brooklyn garage-maestros Yeah Yeah Yeahs and ever-evolving indie legends Yo La Tengo. In addition to these exclusives will be unmissable sets from Grammy-nominated Malian musician Bassekou Kouyate, Brighton indie darlings and NME Award Best Album winners The Maccabees, 2013 Brit nominee Jessie Ware, cult-status chanteuse Cat Power and electronic auteur James Blake.

Latitude is thrilled to announce an exciting new partnership with BBC Radio 6 Music, naming the second stage as the BBC Radio 6 Music Stage. This year the stage will host even more exciting musical treats including headline sets from Baltimore dream-pop duo Beach House in a UK festival exclusive; Portland’s greatest musical exports, indie-rock stalwarts Modest Mouse; and Mercury Prize-winning Alt-J, whose performance on The Lake Stage in 2012 was a festival highlight. Other acts set to play on the coveted stage include math-rock maestros Everything Everything, the girl currently on everyone’s lips, soul singer Laura Mvula, plus visually theatrical Swedish synth-pop duo IAMAMIWHOAMI and garage-rock perfection from White Denim both with UK festival exclusive performances; along with adventurous folk artistry from Villagers and much, much more.

The Maccabees

Latitude is the event of the summer to see the very best in new music. If leftfield music is your thing, then the i Arena is the spot. Tucked away in Latitude’s beautiful woodland area, this year the stage will provide a magically intimate setting for the headliners; gloriously chaotic rock ‘n' roll of Japandroids, warped-electro hipsters Purity Ring and psychedelic husband and wife outfit Moon DuoThe Lake Stage, curated by Huw Stephens, has played host to numerous ‘next big things’ and this year is no exception with headline performances coming from the master of beautiful folk balladry  Benjamin Francis Leftwich, London indie-pop quartet Veronica Falls and hotly tipped Manchester foursome The 1975. Other must see sets include art-noise masters Bo Ningen and Australian rave revivalists Jagwar Ma.

Melvin Benn, Founder and Creator of Latitude, comments: “As it enters the eighth edition, Latitude is now firmly established as the most artistically ambitious event in the UK summer calendar, with a line-up that goes from strength to strength each year. We’re delighted to welcome the forefathers of electronic music, Kraftwerk, to Latitude with their 3-D show who, along with Bloc Party and Foals, will headline an incredibly strong music programme that already includes some of 2013’s hottest acts. As always, however, music is just part of the experience, and our eleven arts arenas will play host to a selection of comedians, theatre companies, poets, writers and other performers that really do make Latitude much more than a music festival.”

In addition to the music bill, Latitude offers an unrivalled selection of innovative arts programming, with a line-up that reads like a virtual walk through the culture pages of a Sunday newspaper. Following the success of last year’s Pagan to Occupy theme, the arts programming this year at Latitude will tackle another idea that defines our times in 2013 as it explores Neuroscience vs. Sex: What Defines Me? in association with The Wellcome Trust. Recent advancements in neuroscience are transforming the study of the brain and nervous system from a branch of biology into a wellspring of stories to explain the people we are and the societies we form. As such, neuroscience now grips contemporary artists, writers, performers and thinkers in a way we have not seen since developments in psychoanalysis shook up creative and intellectual life in the 1950’s. Alongside neuroscience, Latitude will also explore the subject of sex, looking at the central roles that sex, gender and sexual orientation play in creating our individual and collective identities. See the wonder and feel the atmosphere of Amsterdam come to life in The Faraway Forest!

Tania Harrison, Programmer of the Arts Arenas commented: “The most exciting part about creating a programme for Latitude is that it is a playground of possibility. Sometimes it feels like eleven stages packed with artists and performance is too much, too many things and ideas to get your head round and other times I think, hell, that’s not nearly enough! It’s pretty exciting this year with neuroscientists, thinkers and speakers adding to the creative mix at Latitude.  There’s something stimulating for everyone from the fascinating to the roll around funny. I hope you like it.”

The first confirmed Late Night DJs are Guilty Pleasures for Friday night, an unashamedly glorious all-singing, all-dancing renouncement of pop music and an antidote to modern day clubbing fatigue created by Sean Rowley; Buttoned Down Disco, the largest indie dance party in the UK, coming to Latitude from Koko to rock the Saturday night, armed with ace music and glitter cannons! Trans-party collective Sink The Pink will be channelling some trendy East London realness at Latitude this year and Pandora’s Playground wouldn’t be the same without the Disco Shed pumping out big tunes until the small hours.

For 2013 The Lavish Big Screen presents the theme Revolution – Musical and visual anarchy, art mayhem and experimentation. This year at the Big Screen Lavish present an exciting selection of contemporary artists’ film and video plus live appearances by Phil Hartnoll (Orbital) and the legendary Don Letts (Big Audio Dynamite) and Harry K (Simply Dredd).

Late Junction, BBC Radio 3’s late night celebration of musical curiosities from across time and space returns to Latitude for a third year running. Filling the woods with captivating sounds, previous line-ups have featured music as diverse as Stereolab’s Laetitia Sadier, song collector and Mercury Prize nominee Sam Lee and the tape music of minimalist composer Steve Reich. For 2013, Late Junction presenter Max Reinhardt hosts another hand-picked collection of diverse, wild music in the intimate setting of The Lavish Lounge, with highlights to be broadcast on BBC Radio 3. Including Newcastle’s skewed troubadour,Richard Dawson, and from Brazil, post-tropicalia polyphonic populists, Graveola.

Latitude’s recent Best Family Festival Award is testament to the huge array of family-friendly activities available for children and parents alike. Arranged around the banks of the central Latitude lake is the incredibly enticing Children's Arena, where children are entertained all day and into the night with everything from pond dipping and face painting to helterskelter rides and theatre workshops. A real hive of activity, it’s the place where children never want to leave and parents wish they could stay!  The Inbetweeners’ Teen Area is for those kids who may just be a little too old for the Children's Arena, but still want to get involved. Teenagers can enjoy taking part in music, media and technology workshops, wildlife survival skills and assault courses suspended in the trees. Families can also choose to stay in the Family Campsite where like-minded people, early morning activities and easy access to the Children's Arena are guaranteed.

Sharon Reuben, Children’s Arena Booker said: “A riot of creativity, colour and curiosities, the Children’s Arena aims to be the best and doesn’t disappoint! With a backpack full of great ideas, we’re ready to entertain the most energetic kids. We also welcome back The Inbetweeners Teen Area, featuring the wild treetop and bushcraft activities of our friends at Greenpeace, alongside a packed programme of activities and workshops with music and media professionals, hosted by Cultureworks and Access to Music.”

Latitude and Marks & Spencer are excited to once again offer an adventurous way of travelling to the festival in 2013, with the second Tour de Latitude!  This initiative will help participants reduce their carbon footprint by cycling their way to the festival in Suffolk, whilst raising vital funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, helping them in their life-saving work supporting seriously ill children and their families from across the UK. Everyone taking part will also have their ticket upgraded at the finish point with access to the Guest campsite and facilities throughout the festival, and Tour de Latitude will transfer bikes back to the start points and provide participants with coach travel  back to where their adventure started.

Your Festival Camping Checklist!

With more and more festivals now releasing their event line ups and tickets for this summer, it's officially time to start getting excited about the festival season ahead.

To make sure you’re fully prepared for camping this year, we spoke with specialist camping suppliers Outdoor World to find out the essential kit you’ll need to survive festival camping this summer!

Tent

When it comes to picking the perfect festival tent, bigger is certainly better. Your tent is a lot more than just a place to sleep, you also need room to store clothing, food and drink, and with the British weather, it may also end up being an shelter from the rain. Be sure to pick a high quality tent that ticks all of the above boxes and is most importantly, is quick and easy to set up and take down.

Sleeping Bag
Even if you’re attending a festival at the height of British summer, temperatures are sure to still drop of an evening and a sleeping bag is essential for getting a good, comfortable and warm night’s sleep. Take a look at sleeping bags that include secure pockets to store your valuables eg. Your money and mobile phone, and we also suggest purchasing a sleeping mat to improve your comfort throughout the festival.

Camping Mallet
Essential for ensuring your tent stays put throughout the festival, we suggest purchasing a plastic camping mallet, perfect for securing your tent but also keeping your supplies lights and easy to carry. Plastic Camping Mallets are available from only 50p online at Outdoor World.

Camp chairs

This may not seem like an essential, but after a couple of days sleeping and sitting on the hard ground, your camp chairs will feel like the height of luxury. Be sure to purchase camp chairs that are easy to carry and pack away at the end of the festival, and enough to chairs for everyone to sit comfortable at the event.

Night-time light source

Have you ever tried to set up a tent at night without any light at all?  If so, you will know how important it is to be prepared and take a good light source with you. We suggest purchasing a lantern over a torch, as this will sit upright on the floor or base of your tent, or hang from the ceiling thanks to the extremely handy hook, and will light the area in an ambient fashion as opposed to the directional beam lighting of a torch. Lanterns start from only £9.99 online at www.outdoorworld.co.uk

Cooler Box
Don’t leave home without this item! Keeping your food and drink fresh and cold for the duration of the festival will ensure you’re fed, watered and ready to have fun. Cooler boxes can be pretty heavy to carry, especially when filled with all your essentials for the festival, therefore we suggest purchasing either a wheeled cooler box which you can pull along, or a cooler bag which lightweight and easy to carry.

Toilet Roll

We know it seems obvious, but you’d be amazed how many people turn up at festivals without this essential. Festival toilet roll may seem in high supply on the first day, but by day two it will be long gone, and you will be thankful for the spare toilet rolls you brought along in your trusty backpack.
