Paul van Dyk added to SW4 2012 lineup

ADDED TO SW4 DAY ONE: SAT 25TH AUGUST
THE GALLERY PRESENTS ‘EVOLUTION’ FEAT. PAUL VAN DYK
MARKUS SCHULZ · GARETH EMERY
ALY & FILA · JOHN O’CALLAGHAN · RICHARD DURAND
CLAUDIA CAZACU · GARY PROUD

Paul Van DykWhilst it could be said Paul van Dyk needs no introduction, the opposite is true here. Forget the coveted Grammy, consecutive DJ Mag Top 100 triumphs, his magnificent SW4 2007 headline performance and the seminal tracks that defined a generation. As ‘Evolution’ maybe perceived, this isn’t Paul exploring a new sound away from his cherished roots. In fact Evolution inconceivably enhances Paul’s trademark uplifting trance, exacerbated by raw emotion. Fuelled by an illustrious twenty year career, that has kept PvD continually inspiring and empowering the masses. With the album track ‘We Come Together’ already sending shockwaves through club land, expect a host of bespoke Evolution material, especially re-worked for this grand al fresco gathering. A resolve to embrace the latest cutting edge technology, this will be pure dancefloor theatre, symbolic of Paul’s ‘Evolution’ in the flesh.

Markus Schulz is another artist who has continually evolved, with his custom breed of atmospheric trance, plus those darker ‘Dakota’ offerings. Hence earning the landmark title of The Gallery’s international resident, his Ministry gigs always attract a clued up, capacity crowd. South West Four will be no different, enticed by the globally revered radio show ‘Global DJ Broadcast’, which attracts millions of trance enthusiasts each week. Then there’s Markus’ critically acclaimed ‘Coldharbour Recordings’ label, pivotal to Schulz’s well documented rise to fame. Named after Coldharbour Lane in nearby SW9, it’s why Londoner’s consider Markus one of their own. Making this SW4 visit even more poignant, promised magical material from the next in Schulz’s trailblazing ‘City’ series. Entitled ‘Los Angeles 12,’ it’s the kind of broody, melodic madness which ripped up The Gallery tent at SW4 2009.

Expect a host of fresh new music from Gareth Emery, the Garuda God who headlined The Gallery’s mesmeric 2012 opening party. Charting at #13, Gareth is another of the leading artists in the Top 100 and returns this year for the first time since his storming SW4 debut in 2010. Poignant new track ‘Concrete Angel’ looks set to eclipse the landmark success of the sacred ‘Sanctuary’ and will no doubt entice all arms aloft on Clapham Common. Ever since the lush chords of ‘Mistral’ announced him to the world, an unwavering passion earmarks this as a truly standout performance.

Aly & Fila’s sun kissed trance is perfect for the glowing Clapham sunshine. Long standing friends of The Gallery, ‘We Control The Sunlight’ was voted Armin’s ASOT tune of the year in 2011 – and is now an unofficial anthem of not just The Gallery, but trance lovers in general.  New track ‘Coming Home’ is A&F’s latest sparkling sensation, typical of Aly & Fila’s much adored philosophy. To evoke a mass outpouring of joy, that constitutes almost a religious experience. So after helping to celebrate The Gallery’s 17th birthday in April, we lay out the Clapham red carpet four months later. Sure to be a stunning SW4 debut, Aly & Fila were tailor made for this tantalising trance occasion.

John O’Callaghan brought the tough, tearing beats of his Subculture label to The Gallery, towards the end of 2011. Uncompromising by nature, its John’s versatility as a producer that sets this Irish icon apart. His ability to refine these blistering bass lines with sincere vocals is illustrated in the hair-raising soundscapes of ‘Big Sky’ or the electrifying ‘Find Yourself’. More recently, John’s remix of the aforementioned ‘Concrete Angel’ has been embraced by lovers of all genres. A classic re-work, enhancing the lead melody with that JOC stamp of authority. Armin counts himself as a huge fan having personally approved John to mix CD3 of his forthcoming ASOT 550 compilation, one of the greatest honours that can be bestowed. Plus an anticipated Cream Ibiza residency for 2012, completing the JOC summer of love.

There’s no doubt the legendary status, which ‘In Search Of Sunrise’ has amongst trance fans – Richard Durand’s trademark beats having propelled the series into unchartered territory. Take India as the album theme for ISOS 9. Arguably the most forward thinking ever, those Indian beats not immediately synonymous with dance floor devastation. Durand’s SW4 set is sure to contain brand new material from the forthcoming ISOS 10. With Australia the inspiration, it’s a good omen for the sun to shine from Down Under!

Our penultimate powerhouse, a warm welcome for Gallery Queen Claudia Cazacu. Her ‘Haute Couture’ sound is tailor made for the South West Four sun. Finally after last weekend’s excellent set before PvD, Gary Proud returns to London. Vandit’s hottest new recruit, you know what to expect after Saturday’s sell out ‘Evolution’ album launch at Electric Brixton.

Make no mistake. Paul van Dyk’s monumental Evolution experience is sure to lure the global trance family to Clapham. With Evolution and Paul van Dyk, this will be South West Four’s biggest ever trance arena – no matter which metric is used.

Gareth Emery, Mark Knight, 2 Many DJs, Eric Prydz, Sasha & More for SW4

Hence no surprise that ticket sales for both days have soared to record breaking levels. Further affirming the thrill enticed by these announcements so far, Saturday 'super saver' tickets have now completely sold out and increased in price, with Sunday not far behind.

With the next round of artist additions set to commence ‘Phase 2’ of the SW4 2012 lineup, tickets will soon be in even more demand. For if ‘Phase 1’ was the Clapham hors d’oeuvre, ‘Phase 2’ is the sumptuous SW4 main course. August Bank Holiday will never be the same again; Bon appétit!

ADDED TO SW4 DAY ONE: SAT 25TH AUGUST

BENNY BENASSI · GARETH EMERY · MARK KNIGHT
JORIS VOORN · FUNKAGENDA

Benny BenassiFirst up for the Saturday is the brilliant Benny Benassi. Since he gave the world ‘Satisfaction’ with his immortal anthem, the iconic Italian has added more strings to his musical bow –moving away from the misconceptions of many. Only the most creative could transform a hip hop rite of passage, into an electro house monster.  Exactly the case with Public Enemy’s ‘Bring The Noise,’ bagging a coveted Grammy award for ‘Best Dance Remix.’ A permanent fixture in the upper echelons of DJ Mag’s Top 100, Benassi’s cheeky re-work of Marshall Jefferson’s classic ‘Move Your Body’, is odds on to be the 2012 summer scorcher.

Expect a host of fresh new music from Gareth Emery, the Garuda God who needs no introduction amongst the SW4 fraternity. Charting at #13, Gareth is another of the leading artists in the Top 100 and returns this year for the first time since his storming debut in 2010. Poignant new track ‘Concrete Falls’ looks set to eclipse the landmark success of the sacred ‘Sanctuary’ and will no doubt entice all arms aloft on Clapham Common.  Ever since the lush chords of ‘Mistral’ announced him to the world, an unwavering, uplifting outlook earmarks this as a truly standout performance.

Mark Knight’s mercurial sound has not only propelled his revered imprint to world domination but represented a pioneering electronic sound. Blurring the boundaries between the mainstream and underground, it never fails to tantalise an ever increasing fan base.  It’s why the packed global itinerary of Toolroom’s top dog sells out each pulsating party weeks in advance. His headline slot at Toolroom Knight’s 5th Birthday at O₂ Academy Brixton proved one of the performances of last year, whilst Toolroom’s Miami showcase quickly became THE talk of WMC 2012. After a year’s SW4 hiatus, the Toolroom Knight is just what Clapham’s house heads have yearned for.

Also true of Funkagenda. A home grown vivacious talent, whose unchartered rise to fame has been no less impressive. That ‘Man With The Red Face’ collaboration with Knight scooped every award going, enhancing Laurent Garnier’s classic with a captivating production nous. Achieving the delicate balance between tough and melodic, this acquired skill led to specific remix requests from Basement Jaxx and Fatboy Slim amongst others. Harnessing the experience from being signed to Toolroom meant Funkagenda was able to fly the nest with supersonic speed! Culminating in his acclaimed ‘Funk Farm’ label, earning a sought after Ministry Of Sound residency. He is certainly at the front of our minds when it comes to quality house music at South West Four.

Finally for Saturday it’s Dutch trailblazer Joris Voorn. Commended for his ever evolving ethos, a host of radical releases have crafted a lasting legacy. A prolific producer who always strives to engulf the senses, look no further than his outstanding edit of Nalin and Kane’s summer smash ‘Beachball.’ Joris has prospered where others have failed, by enhancing the original into an underground spell of wizardry.  Also possessing magical properties, Voorn’s now legendary ‘Balance 014’ compilation eloquently combined 100 tracks into a double CD. This demonstrated a rare talent responsible for securing headline slots at We Love at Space Ibiza and Awakenings.

ADDED TO SW4 DAY TWO: SUN 26TH AUGUST

2 MANY DJS (DJ SET) · ERIC PRYDZ · SASHA
SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO (DJ SET) · EROL ALKAN

Deep breath, moving onto Sunday. You can never have too much of 2 Many DJs, the DJ manifestation of sensational production duo Soulwax.  With an inherent eclectic nature, it’s this ‘expect the unexpected’ prophecy that has wowed their devout fans.  Count Zane Lowe as one, after playing their Arcade Fire remix of ‘Sprawl II’ on his Radio 1 show. A brilliant realisation of the ‘2 Many’ concept, it re-vitalised this indie rock original with vintage disco and electro-glitch galore. It is by this ethos that the Belgian musicians headline the world’s leading festivals and club nights and with which we are delighted to present their SW4 debut this year.

Eric PrydzCrashing SW4 last year as the enigmatic Cirez D, Eric Prydz prides himself in all things house. His ground breaking ‘Mouseville’ imprint caters for those darker productions, such as the infectious hook from ‘On Off’, whereas the ‘Pryda’ label and namesake tracks encompass the more melodic side, but no less compelling. Hence with this wide ranging spectrum the Swede’s polished performances were always one of club land’s great wonders. Then ‘Eric Prydz In Concert’ came along, superseding all before in EPIC fashion. After selling out the mammoth Brixton Academy, Alexandra Palace and Amnesia Ibiza last year, it’s a privilege for SW4 to welcome Eric Prydz raw and in the flesh.

The mighty Sasha returns also, to sweep Sunday off its feet. The DJ powerhouse, whose illustrious twenty five year career incorporates some of the most memorable moments in SW4 history, is now fully entrenched into Clapham folklore. An undying thirst for innovation has meant that Sasha has always dictated the pace, since establishing himself with pioneering Renaissance and Global Underground associations. Utilising the latest technology enables Sasha to connect with the dancefloor like no other. His inimitable atmospheric sound captivated last summer’s ‘Never Say Never’ Ibiza parties, attracting four thousand connoisseurs each week!  Sasha’s transcendental synths are set to mesmerise SW4 once again.

Erol Alkan’s lasting impact on London’s club scene makes him a huge draw at SW4. As founder of trend setting night Trash at The End (RIP) and its anything goes policy, Erol has received worldwide adulation for his unique fusion of tech, electro, pop and rock. Anything that holds a beat is well within the Alkan domain, yielding classics which are sure to be SW4 favourites! Ask the loyal pilgrims who flock to Bugged Out! and Fabric on each momentous occasion.  As the immortal saying goes, Erol Alkan ‘keeps kids dancing.’

Having worked with Florence and the Machine and The Arctic Monkeys, Simian Mobile Disco are another devastating dance act joining us at SW4 2012. SMD’s spin on unconventional genres, equates to a defining festival experience. SW4 will be a perfect platform to tease exclusive material from their new ‘Delicacies’ label, best summed up by delicious new track ‘Seraphim.’ Simian Mobile Disco make their eagerly anticipated return to London, after last year’s breathtaking SW4 and Together Winter Music Festival appearances. With both occasions cultivating a riotous atmosphere, the duo are tailor made for Clapham debauchery.

Knife Party, Zane Lowe and more added to South West Four (SW4) lineup

Chase & Status, Skrillex, Carl Cox, Skream & Benga. Not only a dream for talent train spotters, but just some of the revered names providing August’s aural assault on Clapham Common. Earmarking this year as our most eclectic and engaging, an unprecedented early interest has sent ticket sales soaring. With fervent enthusiasm from all involved, this quality quintuple is most qualified to engage your senses. However that is the just the tip of the iceberg. A warm SW4 welcome to Saturday stars Knife Party and Zane Lowe. Then last but not least, Sunday’s surreptitious ambassadors of Clapham carnage; Jack Beats, Foreign Beggars, Rudimental and Dread MC.

The cutting edge Knife Party duo consists of powerhouses Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen, from last year’s headliners Pendulum. A privilege to welcome their sharp, succinct sound to SW4, following a musical direction away from Pendulum’s D&B mould. Their huge collaborative effort with Swedish House Mafia titled ‘Antidote’ debuted at number four in the UK Singles Chart, whilst their appearances at Space Ibiza and for UKF Bass Culture at Alexandra Palace have quickly proved what a sure fire hit Knife Party has become. Hinging primarily on an electronic house sound, it’s guaranteed to hit SW4 for six.

Zane LoweZane Lowe is arguably the best specialist Radio1 DJ since the late great John Peel. His award winning Radio 1 show features the hottest new music and in the process has received numerous awards. He also heads the acclaimed MTV show ‘Gonzo’ and is heavily involved in Ibiza Rocks, the party which has ripped the White Isle rule book to shreds. Having played alongside the likes of Kasabian and Oasis at Wembley Stadium, plus The Prodigy at Milton Keynes Bowl, Zane is an outstanding DJ whose enthusiastic, fast paced and sometimes rowdy style always fires up the crowd.

Then the multiple DMC Award winning DJ duo, made up of Niall Dailly (DJ Plus One of Scratch Perverts fame) and Ben Geffin (The Mixologists). Jack Beats have had an immediate and profound effect on the club scene since teaming up in 2007, producing transcendent remixes for La Roux and Florence & The Machine amongst others. Citing influences as diverse as Timbaland and A Guy Called Gerald, the two began to hone a style fusing House, Hip Hop, Drum & Bass and Dubstep with Electro and Baltimore Club. The ensuing support from major industry players like Zane Lowe and Annie Mac, has accelerated them to stardom as evident in their latest red hot production ‘All Night’.

The Foreign Beggars don’t need begging, to showcase their underground repertoire of rousing rap, dubstep and grime. The beggars’ own ‘Dented Records’ has become the cornerstone of a meteoric rise to fame, combining these urban sounds with dance music cuts. This underpins a packed itinerary of energetic live shows, widely regarded as changing the face of UK hip hop in the last decade. So no surprise the Foreign Beggars, orchestrated one of the highlights at the recent UKF Bass Culture show. Recent collaborations with trendsetters Skrillex and Flux Pavilion is further proof of a raw unrivalled talent.

We’re not finished yet, all hail rising stars Rudimental! This North London collective have given the ever changing electronic music scene a rude awakening of late. Melding soulful house with acid, disco and deeper influences, results in a rudimentary sound for rocking any festival. New track ‘Spoons’ has been serving up just this, its blissful vocals having seduced BBC Radio One stalwarts Pete Tong, Annie Mac and the aforementioned Zane Lowe. Also proving Rudimental’s unique production versatility, a hot remix of ‘Drunk’ by Ed Sheeran.  An addictive drum and bass lead is exacerbated by a vivacious melody – intoxicating all by itself!

Finally to complement a bulging bill Dread MC. Cranking up the atmosphere to dangerous levels this homegrown MC has perfected his trade performing alongside the biggest names in bass music. A talent which is effortlessly adapted to any genre, he will be performing exclusively alongside the brilliant Redlight. Makes us dread if SW4 can contain his madness!

So there you have it. Six further SW4 artists that encapsulate all genres – defying known definitions for every sonic style. Guaranteed to bring dancing delight to the Clapham faithful, there really is something for all tastes.

Skrillex to headline South West Four (SW4) 2012

Chase & Status, Carl Cox, Erick Morillo, John Digweed. Not only does this read like a ‘who’s who’ of the elite electronic music fraternity, these influential names also form the backbone of our SW4 Saturday lineup. It’s no wonder tickets have been flying, with Saturday sales up 40% on this time last year. But with Sunday feeling left out, we shift our focus to its headline act. So big, no one superlative does him justice. Sunday is no longer the day of rest…

SkrillexA warm Clapham welcome for Skrillex, his complex bass orientated sound set to rumble the hotly anticipated UKF Bass Culture main stage. Londoners are already familiar with his mystical melange, following two recent sell-out shows at the iconic Brixton Academy. The rousing reaction of ten thousand electronic enthusiasts meant Skrillex for SW4 became an absolute necessity. Hence making this even more mouth watering, an EXCLUSIVE London festival appearance! A real musical coup for Clapham, continuing South West Four’s heritage of showcasing the most revolutionary DJs. Scheduled to close Sunday’s alfresco action, Skrillex’s set will be a frenetic homage to cutting edge dubstep, electro, glitch and grime.

Endorsements of Skrillex have come from the industry’s toughest critics. They don’t come much bigger than America’s ‘National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences’, purveyor’s of the coveted Grammys. An inextricable link to these awards and world domination signifies Skrillex’s recent Grammy hat trick as even more astounding. A haul of ‘Best Remixed Recording, Non Classical,’ ‘Best Dance/Electronica Album’ and ‘Best Dance Recording,’ is testament to a skill which stretches far beyond the DJ booth.  Affirming an unrivalled ability to create penetrating rhythms, unrestricted by one specific genre, Skrillex’s devastating industrial bass is now influencing artists on all sides of the electronic spectrum.

“If you’re going to see one DJ this year, make it this one.” From Stateside to domestic praise, equally as compelling from London’s own Evening Standard. Also chipping in, the Financial Times! “A stupidly enjoyable experience… not since the Prodigy has dance music been so madcap.” With the FT rooted far away from club land, such glowing praise earmarks Skillex as being revered by all music lovers. Especially when his immersive overlay of house, pop and R&B samples, serves to make Skrillex adored and accessible to the masses.

Techno legend Richie Hawtin keeps the appreciation coming. In February’s Mixmag Richie describes Skrillex as “the man of the moment” and as having “an energy that is extreme and undeniably engaging.”  Sentiments shared by The Prodigy, voted this publication’s ‘greatest dance act of all time.’ Hosting their ‘Warrior Dance Festival’ in Belgrade the month after SW4, the trio have handpicked none other than Skrillex as their special guest, recognising him as “the hottest act on the planet today.”

Expect the obligatory heart thumping bass lines, trashing the traditional 4/4 rhythm with a mesmeric array of stutters and stops. Plus huge gut wrenching breakdowns and chaotic riffs, complete this incapacitating package.  Set to pummel Clapham Common into submission, this is a performance guaranteed to go down as one of the greatest in SW4 history. You have been warned.

JOHN DIGWEED

“It’s amazing to be returning to Clapham this year for South West Four. It’s without a doubt a festival with one of the best atmospheres and being where it is means all my friends and family get to join me – another one of the reasons I truly love playing this festival. This year, I am back but hosting the main stage – of course a great honour and I’m seriously looking forward to rocking SW4” Carl Cox

Carl Cox

A sincere thank you to everyone who has already purchased their prized ticket to South West Four. An unprecedented demand testament to the colossal standing of Chase & Status, previously announced as Saturday’s coveted headline act.  Their influential live show has transfixed fans of electronic music worldwide, rapidly adding numbers to an ever increasing SW4 fan base.  This group of electronic music connoisseurs is set to multiply, as our Saturday headline DJs are revealed!

These are without doubt the SW4 all-stars, having buried their roots deep into Clapham Common history. However there’s more to this than just sentimental legacy. With each marking a LONDON FESTIVAL EXCLUSIVE for 2012, just one of these artists would be cause for celebration. Featuring the undisputed Kings of the four by four beat, they add to what is without doubt our most sensational SW4 Saturday ever. Not forgetting that extra hour and improved sound levels to boot. The build up officially begins in earnest…

Carl Cox can lay claim to being amongst South West Four’s most inspirational DJs. Such was the rampant success of his 2006 and 2008 headline outings, Carl returned in 2010 to host our biggest indoor arena. His ability to balance deep, driving and uplifting grooves, orchestrated a frenzied atmosphere rarely witnessed. Incorporating an unrivalled crossover formula, his performances at South West Four are widely regarded as some of the best ever seen at the festival. Be prepared to have your senses pulverised, Carl Cox is coming…

Second up is the irrepressible Erick Morillo. His smooth Subliminal Sessions sound is custom built for SW4, as demonstrated in his headline performance at South West Four’s inaugural event. Erick’s devastating debut in 2004 is fondly remembered for an intricate blend of huge house sounds, snazzy acapellas and infectious vocal cuts; a mantra on which he has forged his unwavering reputation over an illustrious career. Making this year’s performance a must see, Erick’s first London performance in over seventeen months – and his ONLY UK Festival performance this year.  Following the unequivocal success of his Pacha Ibiza residency and continued success of his legendary record label, Erick is set to bring something VERY special to SW4 this summer. Sunglasses at the ready…

Finally a progressive philosophy which continually pushes the boundaries, John Digweed embodies South West Four. 2012 will be his seventh consecutive SW4 gig, more than any other artist. Hence responsible for providing a plethora of memories, with 2009 the most poignant. A back to back set with Sasha brought sumptuous sounds and a sea of smiling faces. A trait also attributed to his mighty Bedrock imprint, providing tunes that have defined a generation. Furthermore the recent return of Bedrock’s monthly club night has succeeded in rejuvenating midweek clubbing in the Capital. Increasing the magnitude of this eagerly anticipated appearance, John will also be bringing something quite special to SW4. Already in the pantheon of electronic artists, SW4 2012 will elevate John Digweed to stratospheric heights.

Just the tip of SW4’s iceberg, the following weeks will herald further awe inspiring announcements. Guaranteed to delve deeper into an immersive electronic experience, South West Four 2012 is shaping up to be an essential part of your August bank holiday weekend.

sven vathSven Väth will bring his world famous techno imprint Cocoon to SW4 for the very first time this summer, as he celebrates his personal milestone of 30 years behind the decks. His infectious, vibrant and fun loving attitude is sure to attract the crowds to his arena, which boasts a line-up featuring some of the finest names in underground music. This includes the incredible Loco Dice who over the past few years has seen his stature rise to become one of the most devastating and respected DJs on the planet. Adding a live element to proceedings we’re delighted to welcome Tiefschwarz. Whether it’s in the studio or in the club, this duo constantly turn heads with timeless productions, remixes and live performances. Also playing live is Guy Gerber. The Israeli tech-house star is no stranger to the world’s biggest events, so the green grass of Clapham Common will suit him down to the ground. The legendary Josh Wink returns to the Common this summer after his sensational performance at last year’s SW4. He is joined by Cocoon’s very own Tobi Neumann and the UK’s hottest rising underground house star Tim Green. We can’t wait.

above and beyondGlobal trance sensations Above & Beyond are set to take their Group Therapy album showcase across Europe this summer with festival appearances across the continent. But none get the juices flowing more than their arena at SW4 2011. The trio will be joined by fellow trance giant Ferry Corsten. A mainstay in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs poll over the past ten years, Ferry is a true international DJ having worked with and played with, the biggest talent on the planet. He’ll be joined by Radio 1’s Judge Jules who is no stranger to SW4 having played on numerous occasions. The Judgement Sundays head honcho remains one of the world’s most in demand DJs with bookings coming in from the world’s

leading clubs. AVA Recordings label boss Andy Moor also joins the line-up alongsideAnjunabeats stalwarts Super8 & Tab, Mat Zo and Jaytech. Boasting an arena full of the biggest names in trance, we’re in for a treat as The Group Therapy Arena brings some power packed melody and euphoria to South West Four.

Arguably London’s finest underground house night, we are delighted to welcome Shake It! back to SW4 for the first time since 2009. Shake It! residents Layo & Bushwacka! will be joined by our favourite Frenchman Mr Laurent Garnier who headlines proceedings, bringing with him his mindblowing LBS showcase alongside Benjamin Rippert and Stephane ‘Scan X’ Dri. Garnier himself explains that while L.B.S. officially stands for Live Booth Sessions, a more fitting name would be Loud Bass and Samples and this exclusive performance is sure to be as thrilling as it is ground breaking. Tiga returns to Clapham Common this summer having previously performed at Get Loaded in the Park. On SW4 duty this time round, we’re delighted to add the Canadian’s electronic sounds to a hugely impressive Shake It! showcase. German duo M.A.N.D.Y. return to South West Four having played alongside Carl Cox at last year’s event. One of the stand out performers last summer, expect the ‘Body Language’ pioneers to be back with a bang. Completing the line-up we’re delighted to welcome Spencer Parker. One of Europe’s leading house DJs, his unique style is in major demand so we’re delighted to have secured his services this summer.

Sunday’s main stage line-up focuses on the more alternative side of the dance music spectrum. The musical juggernaut that is Pendulum will close this year’s South West Four with their only London show of the year. Having fused ideas from a plethora of musical genres, we’re delighted to welcome them to the Common for a full live performance that will certainly get the rave juices flowing. In yet another London festival exclusive, Magnetic Man will act as main support. One of the most talked about electronic acts of the past two years, all eyes are on dubstep’s most loved trio. The first lady of BBC Radio 1, Annie Mac, has this year continued to take her ‘Annie Mac presents’ tour across the world with monstrous parties that have turned many a head. Add to that her hugely successful weekly radio show and you’re looking at one of the most talked about DJs of our time. As the leader of the Digital Soundboy System, Shy FX leads a tight-knit team of like-minded Soundboy soldiers. This includes the prestigious Breakage, one of the world’s premier female DJs B.Traits with MC Donaeo, DJ Marky’s MC of choice Stamina and one of the UK’s most exciting and dynamic vocal talents, Youngman. Adding more live music to the Sunday Main Stage lineup, London’s grime sensation Wretch 32 has recently shot to fame after the release of his debut smash hit ‘Traktor’. Having toured the UK extensively this year to rave reviews, we’re delighted to add him to the SW4 line-up. It’s not often you see a life sized dinosaur play electro but this is what can be expected from Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs. Beginning her music career as a DJ in London just two years ago, Yasmin has already founded her own successful club night, spun around the world for N.E.R.D., Taio Cruz and Eve and played storming sets at Glastonbury and Ibiza Rocks. Established as a world-class spinner, Yasmin is now ready to make her mark as a fully-fledged artist, singer and songwriter in her own right. Her next stop? SW4.

richie hawtinTogether returns to Clapham Common this August after its unforgettable arena at last year’s South West Four. Heading proceeding is a man that needs no introduction, M_Nus label boss Richie Hawtin. One of the leading pioneers of the techno scene across the world over the past twenty years, it’s no wonder that this man is recognised as one of the greatest electronic artists of all time. Modeselektor bring their widely diverse sound to the Together arena, as they wow the SW4 crowd with a number of genres all compressed into a style that is all of their own. Another leading name in the electronic world, SW4 welcomes Gaiser, one of the most revered artists in Richie Hawtin’s Minus collective. Sub Focus will bring his everything goes mantra to SW4 along with his usual blend of air-punching, dancefloor dismantling drum & bass. Andy C, another stand out performer at last year’s SW4, plays under the Together banner once again and the Ram Records boss will be joined by dubstep star Joker and the brain child of Drums of Death and Mumdance, Mums of Death.

We Love is the greatest Sunday clubbing experience on the planet. Flying the flag for the Ibiza institution is none other Sasha. One of the undisputed kings of dance music, Sasha returns to SW4 having smashed last year’s Main Stage to pieces. Sasha will be joined by Viva Record boss Steve Lawler. The king of Ibiza’s legendary Space terrace, Steve has been on We Love line-ups for as long as we can remember. A We Love party wouldn’t be complete without their residents Simian Mobile Disco and Joris Voorn. Simian make their long awaited SW4 debut this year, whilst Joris returns to the Common having played a storming set in John Digweed’s Bedrock arena in 2010. Completing the line-up we welcome Berlin’s Bpitch Control label boss Ellen Allien for her SW4 debut, alongside the newly solo, tech-house vibes of Technasia and British sensation Mat Playford.

cirex dOne of the most respected and seminal record labels in the industry, it is a great honour that Adam Beyer has chosen South West Four to host the next instalment of Drumcode in the capital. The uber techno lord will be joined by VERY special guest and fellow Swede Eric Prydz, playing under his Cirez D guise for the very first time. Legendary UK techno duo Slam have travelled far and wide in the past but debut at SW4 this summer with a live performance that is sure to get the pulses racing. The techno showcase continues with the brilliant Paul Ritch. His DJ sets and production have seen his popularity rise the world over, much like Ben Sims who also plays. The ‘3 deck master’ is one of the UK’s biggest techno exports and we’re delighted to have him flying the flag. Drumcode’s very own Alan Fitzpatrick also joins the line-up with a much anticipated live performance, whilst Ida Engberg completes the bill bringing her relentless passion to South West London.

“We are delighted to be hosting the main stage at SW4 festival this year! After throwing secret invite only raves for five years we wanted to open the invitation out to everyone, so we’ve asked some of the biggest acts on the planet to join us on stage in Clapham this summer. The main stage is always the focal point of any festival but the mindblowing acts and production we have in store for this year will take things to a level never seen before!  Prepare yourselves because we’re about to destroy the city of London!” Mark Adams (Union)
