On Friday 22nd July, On The Beach has invited Fatboy Slim to headline its festival grounds – situated on the hallowed beach where it all began. The global music superstar’s return to his home turf, Brighton Beach, is set to be the liveliest event of the year – and your only chance to witness the inspiration behind those spine-tingling scenes from two decades ago!
On July 13th 2002, UK music history was made when 250,000 ravers flocked to Brighton Beach for a party unlike any before or since. Widely regarded as the UK’s answer to Woodstock, the legendary event brought the whole city to a standstill, turning the entire beach into a writhing mass of happy smiling faces. Dancers clung onto anything they could just to get a better view of the maestros Fatboy Slim and Midfield General as they served up the now-seminal soundtrack. The official mix compilation still remains a cult favourite two decades later and the mythology around the event has only grown in the years since. It’s impossible to understate the immense legacy left by Big Beach Boutique.
As an artist, Fatboy Slim’s contributions to dance music over years are second to none. From underground hits to mainstream chart toppers, he has sold millions of records around the world, holding the Guinness World Record for most Top 40 hits and winning nine MTV Video Music Awards and two Brit Awards. Just as famous for his explosive and super-sized live shows as he is for his music production, be it headlining Glastonbury, closing down the London Olympics or even playing at the House of Commons, Fatboy’s household-status doesn’t just come from the radio, but from the memories inspired in generations of hedonistic party goers. Simply put, there is no one quite like Fatboy Slim.
The return of Big Beach Boutique is set to be one of the year’s most memorable parties and if you want to be first in line for tickets to this monumental celebration, then make sure you sign up at http://www.bigbeachboutique20th.com/ to be a part of the exclusive pre-sale, beginning at 10am on Wednesday 30th March. This huge news comes on top of the already announced On The Beach weekend shows, featuring Carl Cox and special guests playing on Saturday July 23rd, and drum & bass pioneers Andy C, Sub Focus, Wilkinson, Shy FX, Dimension, Friction and Harriet Jaxxon playing on Sunday July 24th
It’s almost time to return to the world’s most celebrated dance floor as Amnesia announces its epic Opening Party for the 2022 season. On May 21st, the best house and techno DJs on the planet return to soundtrack the official start of the Amnesia season with the likes of Marcel Dettmann, Nina Kraviz, Eats Everything, Jamie Jones, Maceo Plex, Seb Zito, Archie Hamilton, Marco Faraone, Caal, La La, and debuts for Lilly Palmer and Patrick Mason who have never played the club before and are part of a new wave of talent brought in by Amnesia for this year. The party kicks off at 6pm on a special stage and runs until midday the following day.
There is no party quite like the Amnesia opening. It is a famous first dance for music lovers all over the world, so it never fails to have a special energy and wild atmosphere. This year, the first proper opening party since before the pandemic is sure to be more special than ever and the start of a summer like no other, especially as there are some new tech developments for this season that will personalise your experience inside and outside the club and will connect you to a new world.
As such all the stops have been pulled out to make for a heavyweight line-up of talents from all points on the house and techno spectrum, with new stars, returning legends and everyone in between all set to play.
For chunky and stripped back techno, Marcel Dettmann and Lilly Palmer will keep you dancing, while the always explosive Nina Kraviz will mix up everything from acid to breaks to IDM like no other. Bombastic sounds will come from low end lover Eats Everything who plays back-to-back with fellow big room maestro Marco Faraone, who is one of techno’s most essential selectors. Then there is the always on point Amnesia favourite Jamie Jones and the groove-driven, garage, breaks and dub house mixologist Seb Zito and plenty of cutting edge tech house from contemporary favourite Archie Hamilton.
There will also be some magic from La La, the alter-ego of Lauren Andrew, a DJ and curator from Glasgow, now based in London and making big moves after a huge set on Boiler Room and headline gigs all over the UK. Fellow fresh talent Patrick Mason hails from Germany and like La La is all set to take over this summer with his forward thinking techno. He is a Berlin based Creative Director, Designer, Illustrator, Model and Influencer with a huge following and is one half of the hybrid live techno duo SRVD and a regular face at Berghain, one of the world’s most iconic techno clubs.
An extended set from Ellum Audio boss Maceo Plex will find him go deep into his own melodic and cosmic techno world, long time residents Mar-T, Caal and Pyramid mainstay Luca Donzelli know the club and crowd like no other so are sure to thrill, and there will be more from Mason to ensure you can’t stop dancing.
This one will be talked about for a long time, so make sure you are a part of it.

UNUM is a close-knit, tastefully curated musical hideaway between sweet smelling pine forests, sweeping sun kissed beaches and set against a dramatic mountainous backdrop. The music plays out over three very different stages all with their own unique look and sound and the most iconic of them all is the Pines Stage, where DJs play 24 hours a day.
That means dancers are treated to spine-tingling sunset sessions as the sun fades away between the trees, and then epic sunrises as the pines are backlit by a glorious ball of fire to start a new day. This makes it one of the most special and atmospheric places to party in all of Europe for those who like classy house and techno.
And there is plenty of that once again in this third year with tasteful hosts including After Caposile, Deset, Half Baked, Outcast, Secret Society, Trommel, Watermelon, You&Me and Zone who will all bring their own know-how and seductive sounds.
The latest wave of names to be playing include techno mainstays Tobi Neumann and Paco Osuna, red hot new school house, brakes and electro innovator Gene on Earth plus tech house titans from across Europe including East End Dubs, Boris Werner, Butch, Joey Daniel, Josh Baker, Andy Baxter, Ilario Alicante, Jamie Roy and many more.
The scene is now set for what will once again be the most boutique and music-centric house and techno gathering in a truly blissful location.
