Tennents Lager reveal lineup for T Break 2014 at T in the Park

Tennent’s Lager put out their annual call in March for Scotland’s unsigned acts to submit their demos to T Break in the hope of landing one of 16 highly coveted slots on the T Break Stage at T in the Park, and today they announced who will be taking to the legendary T Break Stage this summer.

Tennent’s Lager have been proudly supporting Scotland’s grassroots music scene through T Break for the past 19 years, providing the country’s freshest unsigned talent with the chance to showcase their material to fans, musicians and music industry insiders alike on the biggest platform for unsigned artists at T in the Park – the
T Break Stage.

T Break’s judging panel is made up of 14 of Scotland’s most respected and influential music industry experts who listen to each and every track submitted before coming together to deliberate their shortlists. The judges then decide on the final 16 acts – who will potentially follow in the footsteps of this year’s T in the Park headliner and formerT Break band Biffy Clyro – to make up the T Break 2014 line-up.

Simon Neil, Biffy Clyro front man said of their T Break performance in 1999“It was probably one of the biggest moments of our lives, even now looking back, that first time you feel like a real band is phenomenal…that was literally the break, T gave us the break”

So, with that said, the 16 acts that will play the T Break Stage this year are:

Atom Tree
Birdhead
Blood Relatives
Deathcats
Fat Goth
Medicine Men
Model Aeroplanes
NAKED
Scary People
Secret Motorbikes
TeenCanteen
The Moon Kids
Tisoki
Tuff Love
Vladimir
We Came From Wolves

George Kyle, Head of Sponsorship at Tennent’s Lager said: “We are delighted with the line-up again this year, every year we’re amazed with the volume of fantastic entries T Break receives.  We are immensely proud to continue to support Scotland’s grassroots music through T Break and I believe that former T Break band Biffy Clyro’s headline slot on the Main Stage this summer is testament to the importance of this support and to where it can lead”

Dave McGeachan, Senior Promoter from T Break partners DF Concerts sits on the judging panel. He said: This is an incredibly strong year for Scottish music and the talent coming out of Scotland’s grassroots music scene in particular is of a very high standard.  I feel we’ve managed to get a really great representation across many different genres with this year’s selection and I look forward to seeing some excellent live performances over the weekend."

Paloma Faith and more added to Osfest lineup

Paloma Faith, The Hoosiers, From the Jam, Bay City Rollers and Toyah have been added to our existing lineup which features the very popular boy band Union J, Grammy award winner Foxes, number one hit artist Conor Maynard, current high-flyers Neon Jungle as well as Nina Nesbitt and Luke Friend.

mplimented by some EXCITING new additions.

Born in Hackney, London, Paloma who’s latest single ‘Only Love Can Hurt Like This’ is currently in the official top 10, is half Spanish and half British. As an ex magician’s assistant, trained contemporary dancer, St Martin’s alumni with an MA in theatre directions, a performer in burlesque shows and an actress, she has been mixing artistic media throughout her short adult life.

The fascinating singer-songwriter Paloma will be performing a unique DJ Set at Osfest, a brilliant DJ, Paloma plays a mixture of guilty pleasures from the 90's RnB and recognisable old soul.

Carly Woodward, Event Director says “The charismatic Paloma Faith is cutting edge on both the stage and the DJ scene, we are really looking forward to her performance, what an amazing way to finish Saturday Night!”

Osfest are also delighted to have the re-formed the Hoosiers on the line up, Sam Swallow of the Hoosiers admits “We came back to it for a very simple reason: we started enjoying writing songs again.” The Hoosiers multi-platinum success of their 2007 debut album, The Trick to Life, includes singles such as ‘Worried About Ray’ and ‘Goodbye Mr. A’.

Osfest festival goers will be transported back to the late seventies as From The Jam, featuring former The Jam bassist Bruce Foxton and Russell Hastings, will be performing all their classics including “Going Underground”, “Town called Malice” and “That’s Entertainment”!  LES McKeown and the Bay City Rollers will be performing "Bye Bye Baby" which was their first UK Number One in May 1975 and the infamous Toyah Ann Willcox will entertain us with "It's a Mystery"!

CC14 ALBUM RELEASED FOR FREE DOWNLOAD IN ASSOCIATION WITH 7DIGITAL
As tradition has is it and one of its original USPs, Camden Crawl has delivered a free compilation to festival goers every year since its inception. Starting out as a series of vinyl 7”s and graduating to CD in 1995, the compilation eventually evolved to digital download in 2008 courtesy of long term Digital Download Partners 7digital. This year’s edition of the annual ‘Official Camden Crawl 2014 Album’ is as genre defying and unpredictable as its predecessors. Featuring more than 70 tracks from a selection of artists performing at June’s CC14, the album is a sonic rollercoaster ride which delves deep into the leftist of electronic fields, rises to the heavenly harmonies of Britain’s brightest new songwriters, bounces off the walls of edgy punk rock and jumps back to the beat of London’s latest urban sensations.

The ‘Official Camden Crawl 2014 Album’ is exclusively available through 7Digital:

Redfest 2014 lineup details

Check out the 8th installment of this years Redfest.  This year the KINGS of ragga metal SKINDRED headlining our main stage on Friday 25th July, who will be joined by MOBO winners Krept & Konan, London boys TOY, and Young Kato, who are currently on tour with You Me at Six.

Skindred are veritable festival veterans and famed for their intense live performances, we have absolutely no doubt that Friday night is going to GO OFF.

Skindred's Benji Webbe: 'As ambassadors of British music Skindred are more than buzzed to be invited along to headline Red "DRED" fest. All the boys in the band have enjoyed playing in Surrey and this is another chance for us to stamp down power in front of British music fans. We ain't fucking about Redfest, You're GETTING IT!'

South London hip hop duo Krept & Konan are Casyo "Krept" Johnson and Karl "Konan" Wilson, and winners of the 2013 'Best Newcomers' MOBO award.

We also welcome indie rock band Peace to our main stage as our Saturday headliners. Having received critical acclaim from publications such as The Guardian and NME in 2012, comparing them to bands like The Maccabees and Foals, Worcester quartet Peace went on to be nominated for Radio 1's 'Sound of 2013', and had Top 20 success with their 2013 album 'In Love'.

Also joining us with be Landudno boys Catfish and the Bottlemen. Playing loud, explosive, sexy rock and roll songs full of guitars and energy, CATBM took part in Radio 1's Future Festival at the beginning of the year, and have been wowing audiences up and down the UK.

We also welcome Irish folk-pop duet, and brothers, Harry and Alfie Hudson Taylor, who will be joining us along with Youtube sensation George Barnett, The Skints – back by very popular demand, along with The LaFontaines, the hauntingly beautiful voice of Lauren Aquilina, Jim Lockey and the Solemn Sun, mesmerising soul from Lulu James, rousing rock lads The Struts and Birmingham lads JAWS.

The Total Uprawr Stage

It may surprise some to find a band like Welsh pop rock gods The Blackout headlining such a billing, but with so  many crossover vibes and mashed genres going on over the whole weekend we are confident of a great reception. And a very full tent.

Our Friday night headliner is Heart of a Coward, a band that has been KILLING the metal tents at festivals such as Download, and who always bring the RAWR.

We also welcome London hardcore troupe TRC, with Heights, The Dirty Youth, Lostalone, Polar, Baby Godzilla, Astroid Boys, The Catharsis, Slaves, The First, The One Hundred, and Rat Attack also on the billing.

Completing our Uprawr Stage lineup are Skies in Motion, Fathoms, Collisions, When We Were Wolves, Aurora, Our Hollow Our Home, A Moment Lost and Set Your Sails.

V Festival Glee Comedy tent lineup announced

V Festival has today announced a sensational line up for its Glee Club Comedy Tent.  Alan Carr and Adam Hills are confirmed to headline with other acts including Paul Chowdhry, Rob Beckett and Andrew Maxwell also joining the bill.

Alan Carr is set to make a triumphant debut appearance at V Festival this year. One of the UK’s most outstanding comedians Carr has also received critical acclaim for television shows including the ground breaking and hugely popular Alan Carr’s Chatty Man.  He has won countless awards including a BAFTA in 2013.

Alan Carr said: “Can't wait to perform at V!! Watch out Timberlake there's someone else bringing Sexy Back!  See you there!”

Adam Hills is also making his debut V Festival performance this year. The Australian has achieved international success as one of the world’s best stand up comics, he is best known in the UK for hosting the critically acclaimed ‘The Last Leg.

Adam Hills said: "I'm a V virgin, and am therefore quite excited to pop my cherry at this year's festival. Since it's my first time, I'm guessing I'll make a fool of myself, be very loud, and it'll all be over much quicker than I had hoped. Unlike my actual virginity though, I'll get to lose it twice in a weekend."

Paul Chowdhry said of his upcoming appearance: I’m gonna go in heavy at the V Festival this year. If my performance time on the comedy stage clashes with Justin Timberlake or The Killers, I’d like to apologise in advance for stealing their audience.”

Across the weekend V Festival goers will be treated to the very best in stand-up comedy with other names includingFosters Comedy Award winner Phil Nichol, Jarlath Regan and John Fothergill.  The Glee Club Comedy tent will also feature the very best in upcoming talent including Matt Richardson, Charlie Baker and Dapper Laughs.

With Justin Timberlake and The Killers set to headline the main music stages and a whole host of other fantastic acts confirmed, this year’s V Festival is set to be the most exciting weekend of the summer.

Ben Howard to headline Jersey Live 2014

The London-born and Devon-raised Ben Howard comes to the festival riding a wave of momentum that has taken the folk star from the cosy venues of south west England to festival stages the world over. Having signed to Island Records in 2011, Howard has since gone on to be nominated for the coveted Mercury Prize for his album Every Kingdom, and later going on to win the Best Newcomer and Best British Solo Male Artist at the 2013 BRIT Awards. He was also nominated for the Ivor Novello for Best Album in the same year.

Village Mentality comes to Field Day

Now in it’s eighth year Field Day returns to its beautiful leafy home of Victoria Park on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th of June in the heart of East London. We are thrilled to announce this year’s Village Mentality content for Field Day 2014.

Unique to Field Day is Village Mentality’s village green. It runs in the daytime from 1-5pm and it’s the bunting strewn, straw bale-filled heart of the festival. For 2014 the Village Green runs on both days of the weekend- offering (as ever) a wry mix of old favourite and new classic team games and DIY-style side stalls including:

Village Green Team Games – 7th & 8th June

Run the gamut of team games inspired by traditional fetes and country games but with a contemporary twist. BE PREPARED is the motto for 2014 as this year our games hark back to childhood memories with the theme of Girl Guides and Boy Scouts, Brownies and Cubs. So, whether you were a kelpie or an elf, a beaver or one of the woodcraft folk, have a pow wow, join the pack and muck into a wacky selection of team races and relays to include:

Competitive knot tying, three legged racing, dib dab dobbing, pillow fighting, tug of warring, all for prizes with bells and whistles thrown in. Go on- join in and release your inner cub…

Competitive Eating Contest

Don’t miss our eating competition taking place at 3pm on both days. Details and prizes (often a crate of alcohol!) tba. Previous years have included nettle eating and winkle picking so always a great spectacle!

Lo-fi Sideshows with Hi-fi prizes

Check out our classic sideshows like Splat the Rat, The Duck Shoot, plus a traditional Tombola and Lucky Dip. Expect to win less traditional prizes such as collectables from Field Day acts, tickets for Tate exhibitions, guest list for exclusive Field Day after parties, Rough Trade goodies and even the odd tea towel. Oh and a coconut at the Coconut Shy.

Tate Britain and Etsy craft workshops – Saturday 7th June

We’re very excited to announce that Tate Britain and Etsy UK will be teaming up at this year's Field Day to celebrate Tate Britain's latest exhibition, British Folk Art (Tate Britain: June 10 – Aug 31). Inspired by the varied and wonderful crafts involved in British Folk Art, Tate Britain and Etsy will be hosting drop-in workshops where Field-Dayers can get crafty making their very own customised wooden peg dolls and Himmelli sculptures.

So pull up a chair, grab a cup of tea from the lovely Dalston Darlings Women’s Institute or a coffee from Charlatan’s front man Tim Peaks coffee and get making!

Brass Band Action

On Saturday 7th we are pleased to welcome back Field Day stalwarts The Farnborough Concert Band of the Royal British Legion who play a mix of contemporary classics and old favourites. 50-person strong, this is your rousing weekend in the park experience from times gone by.

On Sunday 8th we are very excited to announce that Hackney Colliery Band will be making their Field Day debut. With a tongue-in-cheek, yet respectful, nod to the great tradition of British brass bands, Hackney Colliery’s influences are as diverse as the London borough that gives them their name. Mixing rock, afro-beat, hip-hop, Balkan beats, contemporary jazz and soul, they are a uniquely British take on the modern brass band sound.

Latitude announce iArena late-night line-up!

We have the latest news about the iArena lineup that will hit Latitude this year featuring some of the worlds top electronic music artists.

Headlining the late night stage on Friday will be the explosively talented electronic king and UK tunesmith Lone. Lone’s Friday night set will get the party amped up with his unique synth-soaked adventures through house, techno, and instrumental hip-hop. With props from fellow iArena artist James Holden, and Kode9, Rustie and Alex Nut, Lone is well respected as one of the most exciting young producers on the scene. Receiving critical acclaim for his dream-hop début opus Lemurian he is back with a bang for 2014, with new album Reality Testing set to drop this June.

Fuelling the crowd for Lone will be killer house music DJ and Resident Advisor recommended Leon Vynehall. New EP Music For The Uninvited has been described by RA as “one of the most eclectic and rewarding house records you’ll hear this year”. Vynehall will be preceded by Dan Shake, the first artist to be signed to Kenny Dixon's cult House label Mahogani Music label outside of Detroit in a decade. Expect the percussive rhythms of afrobeat, soul-drenched vocals and dark, dense grooves from this talented young producer. After producer, DJ and wunderkind James Holden finishes his set leaving the crowds wanting more, London based duo Voyeur will take to the stage with their dusty house music overlaid with fat house grooves. Recent signees to Kerri Chandler’s Madhouse, their debut single Blame It on the Youth was picked up by Annie Mac after tearing up last year’s legendary FOUND Street Party and the pair will bring the same summer vibes to Latitude this year.

Headlining the Saturday will be MOBO nominated Best Producer, Ericsson Best Newcomer Award Winner and UK Garage pioneer Wookie. Wookie has reproduced tracks for the likes of Sia, Justin Timberlake, Roll Deep, Ray Foxx and many, many more.  Having taken a break from the scene Wookie is back playing out his favourite 2-step tracks and mixing up his sets with different genres. With new single Higher, which sees the producer take a smoother, more house direction than ever before, the crowd will be kept on their feet throughout his set.

Building the buzz and excitement will be East-London’s beatsmith Champion who will take to the decks with his low-end basslines and dazzling rhythmic patterns. Despite only being in the early stages of his career, he is already producing music that incorporates House, UK Funky and Grime with a natural attention to detail. Champion has garnered support from tastemakers including The Quietus, FACT and XLR8R, setting him up as one of the UK’s next generation of leading producers.  Respected DJ, accomplished producer and label owner, Matt 'Jam' Lamont has been an intrinsic part of the UK Dance scene from its very inception. DJing across the globe, his skills are versatile and engaging with sets featuring House, Garage, breaks, dubs, & D&B to keep the crowd fully entertained. A champion of the British music scene, and great garage music irrespective of origin, it's no misnomer to class Matt 'Jam' Lamont amongst dance music's real pioneers. One of the most original production talents of recent times, Auntie Flo will open the iArena’s Saturday night of musical hedonism. His unique afro-futurist sound, encompassing classic house, disco, techno, electronica influences alongside afrobeat, kwaito, cumbia, South American rhythms and outsider music from all around the world offers a gateway to lesser-known strands of music.  Following on from two Radio 1 live sessions at Maida Vale and two Boiler Room sets, Auntie Flo is ready to bring his unique world dance sound to Latitude.

Headlining on Sunday will be modern UK legend MJ Cole, a hugely respected Garage artist who released some of the most important UK dance records of the past decade. His intricate, heart-wrenching garage productions did more to expose the genre to the mainstream than any other artist. Having racked up a Mercury Music Prize nomination, a MOBO Best Producer award and a Silver Disc for UK, his often soulful sound hits the mark. With a commitment to emotive, brave club music expect to experience beats and bass that will stretch your musical boundaries.

Mo Kolours will join MJ Cole in the iArena with his eclectic mix of soul, new funk and broken dubstep. Having only released his self-titled debut album at the start of 2014 Mo has already been making waves with Gilles Peterson, Hot Chip's Joe Goddard and Friendly Fires' Jack Savidge. Tipped as an essential listen by many music blogs in the past year, Latitude welcomes Ghanaian-British artist Andrew Ashong, with his psych-soul grooves. Following his first solo release on Theo Parrish’s label, Sound Signature, the title track,Flowers won Track of the Year at Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Awards last year. Ashong’s intricate tracks and layered vocals have drawn comparisons to “an R&B-influenced Richard Ashcroft” [Resident Advisor]. Opening up the dance floor on Sunday night will be BadBadNotGood, a formally trained trio who have torn up the rule book on improvised instrumental music and taken a fresh look at the jazz tradition. Renowned for their unique interpretation of popular hip-hop tracks, the three bring together jazz, hip hop, punk, and dance music into vigorous balance.  Don’t miss their raw talent and unique take on jazz.
