Loads more acts announced for Sundown Festival 2016

With headliners Chase & Status and Jason Derulo already announced alongside a supporting cast including the arena conquering Years & Years, pop princess Jess Glynne, UK rap stars Krept & Konan and grime don Kano already announced, Sundown Festival is announcing even more names for its biggest year yet.

Joining the huge main stage lineup is one singer who is no stranger to big crowds. Having paid her dues on the road as a singer for Sundown favourites Rudimental, Anne Marie is going it alone and is taking the pop world by storm. Switching from heartfelt ballads to party bangers seamlessly its no wonder she topped MTV’s prestigious Brand New list. She’ll be joined by none other than undisputed legend of UK R&B and rap, Ms Dynamite who since bursting onto the charts in 2002 with hits like ‘Dy-na-mi-tee’ has carved a career that younger artists would kill for.

Having expanded to three stages this year, the second and third stages will be hosted by some of the biggest brands in the dance and club worlds with Defected, UKF, Ministry Of Sound and Drum & Bass Arena all hosting their own huge lineups at the festival. Joining the party are grime ‘Golden Boy’ Elf Kid, house master Lee Walker, pioneering DJ and producer Matt ‘Jam’ Lamont, Audio Rehab boss Mark Radford, bass duo Diskord and an amazing Dillinja set.

Everyone packing their tent and making a weekend of it will be treated to a very special opening party on the Friday night from one of the most high profile DJs in the country today, Radio 1’s Danny Howard.

With the festival going from strength to strength, tickets are going fast for the best closing party of the festival season! Returning to Norwich for the fourth year running, Sundown Festival is the definitive closing party of the festival season. What better excuse for one more dance in the sun at the end of a busy summer?

First three phases for South West Four 2016 announced

Almost forty acts complete our line-up so far and with many more to be announced across eight stages, we’re confident that this next move will cement our position amongst Europe’s elite even further.  As ones to never back down and accept the norm, phase three will continue to build the greatest line-up found anywhere in the UK this summer….

JUST ADDED TO SATURDAY 27TH AUGUST

Having just single-handedly sold out one of Europe’s most iconic venues with almost ten thousand fans losing their minds to his unmistakeable methods at Alexandra Palace, Andy C returns to South West Four in the form of his life. This year he’s back, but on a whole new level as the uncompromising turbine of sound will take to the outdoor main stage to play in total darkness for the very first time.

CULTURE SHOCK

Responsible for developing drum and bass’ most promising breakthrough talent into the genre’s greatest artists over the years, RAM simply stands in a league of its own. From releasing seminal, timeliness classics to hosting international arenas and residencies, the imprint’s success is second to none. Last year saw them host a stage in one of the festival greatest ever highlights, this year they’re back with even bigger attack as they host one of our gargantuan 10,000 capacity stages.

Hailing from Belgium and firmly marked as one of Europe’s top talents, Netsky [Live] has confirmed South West Four as his only London festival performance of 2016 and will headline the stage. Championing the underground with standout crossover abilities, we’re extremely pleased to announce that Nick Douwma aka Sub Focus will also join this illustrious drum and bass line-up. His relationship with RAM has seen him grow into the global phenomenon he is today and with a reunion on the horizon at SW4, this is huge. Rising from South London, Wilkinson has confirmed that he will return to South West Four for his exclusive homecoming performance on Saturday 27th August. After headlining a RAM NYE 2015 to a sold out Brixton Academy, the demand for his return is unbelievable.

Circus Records founder Flux Pavilion has chosen South West Four as the exclusive date for his the full debut of his mesmerizingly immersive live show. After providing the capital with a ground-breaking performance at Ministry of Sound in Dolby Atmos last weekend, we can officially reveal that he joins us the stage’s very special guest. Mastering an uncompromisingly original and emotional sound, the Dutch trio of Noisia are renowned for their unparalleled technical skill and instantly recognisable techniques and also join us. Camo & Krooked have enjoyed an incredible rise to the top of the ever-changing world of electronic music thanks to their unparalleled inimitable style of fusing boundary-pushing sounds. After proving their position at the top of the scene for over a decade, the Austrian duo return to SW4 for another exclusive date.

After reuniting in celebration of their influential imprint Full Cycle, SW4 is pleased to announce the arrival of a truly timeless act. Joining the RAM stage on Saturday 27th August, we are excited to reveal that Full Cycle presents Roni Size & DJ Krust will arrive exclusively on Clapham Common. Favoured for the chaotic carnage, anarchy and disorder witnessed in his previous Clapham Common displays, it’s easy to understand why we’ve invited one of the most revered names in the game back for more of his bone-shaking beats as Friction also returns. Arguably one of the most exciting talents currently rising out of the RAM Records camp, SW4 is excited to bring Toronto’s Rene La Vice to Clapham Common for the very first time.

Fresh from releasing their debut album ‘Paradise Lost’ on RAM earlier this month, inviting Delta Heavy to join us at SW4 was inevitable. As big fans of their trademark sound at here SW4 HQ, we can’t wait to see what the duo have in store for SW4. Armed with new music and plenty of surprises, there’s no doubt this will be worth the wait! Completing RAM’s onslaught for 2016 is one of its favourite and most talented producers. SW4 please get ready for the return of Culture Shock.

JUST ADDED TO SUNDAY 28TH AUGUST

JAMIE JONES VS JOSEPH CAPRIATI

DANNY TENAGLIA • JOHN DIGWEED

JONAS RATHSMAN • CUARTERO • MAR-T

Undoubtedly one of the biggest bookings of our entire two-day Bank Holiday Weekender, this is one we’ve wanted to shout about for some time. After witnessing the coming together of two of the underground’s most celebrated DJs at DC-10 last summer, we’re pleased to reveal that Jamie Jones vs Joseph Capritai will arrive exclusively at South West Four this summer. Responsible for the greatest Ibizan highlight of 2015, the demand to see Jamie and Joseph back together behind a pair of decks is phenomenal. Each weighing in at the very top of their game, this is simply unmissable.

Considered amongst the true greats of electronic music and ranked within its most influential characters, SW4 is honoured to welcome Danny Tenaglia back for his first performance at the festival in eight years. This will form his first UK show in twelve months, making his return all the more special as he joins us for a rare performance on British soil. No artist has made an impact on SW4 quite like our next addition. Returning for an incredible thirteenth year in a row, Bedrock boss John Digweed has formed in inseparable relationship with South West Four over the years. His parties across South London have become the stuff of legend, with his unrivalled ability to create the most sought-after electronic atmospheres.

After following his progress in recent months and witnessing his back-to-back session with Sasha at Electric Brixton on NYE, we’re extremely pleased to reveal that Jonas Rathsman will make his South West Four debut this summer. Having risen through the ranks of Saved, Desolat and Moon Harbour, Cuartero joins us for his debut SW4 performance this August. Also joining us for the very first time on Bank Holiday Sunday 28th August is Amnesias long-standing resident Mar-T. Another standout Ibiza favourite, the Barcelona-born producer has spent the past twelve months releasing on Get Physical and Mad Tech in addition to 2015’s fantastic remix of Popof’s ‘Going Back’, don’t miss him.

More acts added to British Summer Time Hyde Park

Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park is putting the finishing touches to the lineups for the shows of the summer.  Today, we announce a string of incredible acts to add to two of the Hyde Park shows this July.

Florence + The Machine: Saturday 2nd July

Joining the superstar bill of Florence + The Machine on the first Saturday night of the festival in Hyde Park are Poliça, GeorgiaKelsey LuKhruangbinGabriel Bruce, Gwilym Gold and Cloves.

Electro-pop outfit Poliça are confirmed to support. With their electronic soundscapes loved by fans worldwide, last month they released their third studio album United Crushers, hinting at what to expect from their hotly anticipated performance in the park.

London musician Georgia will enthral crowds with her sassy and punchy pop. Inspired by the pioneering spirit of artists such as Missy Elliot and MIA, Georgia’s genre-busting and globally minded sound will set the stage for the headliners.

Brooklyn-based Kelsey Lu has also been confirmed. A classically trained cellist who loops her instrument and voice to make ethereal R&B pop, you may previously have seen her as part of Blood Orange’s band, but this year she’s released a smattering of breathtaking solo tracks.

Khruangbin, a Texan three-piece band, bring their Thai-inspired funk to the middle of London. Having previously toured with Bonobo and featured on his Late Night Tales mix, their vintage sound will make the perfect summer soundtrack come rain or shine.

Gabriel BruceGwilym Gold, and Cloves will all make their Hyde Park debut this summer.  Singer-songwriter Gabriel Bruce’s deep and expressive voice has been compared to the likes of Leonard Cohen and Nick Cave. He recently unveiled his stunning new single ‘Freedom’, and will release his comeback album next month ahead of his performance forBarclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park.

Previously the front man for indie-dance band Golden Silvers, Gwilym Gold has ventured out on his own to make his own acclaimed electro-pop. Likened to Radiohead and Talk Talk by Resident Advisor, his sparse piano-led tracks and soulful vocals have brought him plaudits from across the media for latest album A Paradise.

The Melbourne-raised singer-songwriter Cloves has been received with resounding enthusiasm from LA to Paris following the release of her debut EP ‘XIII’. After being featured by Annie Mac on the New Names list for 2016 in January, this summer Cloves brings her whisky-tinged tones to London’s Hyde Park.

Mumford & Sons: Friday 8th July

Headlining the second Friday of the festival, Mumford & Sons will be joined by Kurt Vile & the Violators in Hyde Park, with more support added across the day including Mt. DesolationMatthew and the AltasModern PleasureRukhsana Merise and The Strumbellas.

Kurt Vile & the Violators’ unique blend of shoegaze and Americana, alongside their frontman’s witty stage presence, captures crowds like no other. Signed to Matador Records, the American singer and his backing band released their seminal album Smoke Ring for My Halo in 2011 and last year introduced sixth studio album b’lieve i’m goin down, which made the top 20 in NME’s 2015 Albums of the Year chart.

Also taking to the stage is British alt-country band Mt. Desolation. The brainchild of Keane’s Tim Rice-Oxley and Jesse Quin, the ensemble has already toured with Mumford & Sonson their US tour and this summer they will bring their beautiful folk-pop harmonies to one of London’s biggest parks.

Matthew and the Atlas and Modern Pleasure are two more acts confirmed to support Mumford’s headline performance. Having released their brand new album ‘Temple’ this month,Matthew and the Atlas’ dreamy blend of Americana and melancholy electronica has been described as “the British Bon Iver.”

Modern Pleasure are a Leeds based, 5 piece guitar band (Scott Johnson, vox/guitar/keys Giuseppe De Luca, vox/guitar, Adam Taylor, Bass, Sean Goodchild, Guitar and Graham Robson, drums) leading the charge in a new scene emerging from one of North England's most vibrant cities.  With an audio aesthetic perhaps more akin to the sun kissed coastal roads of California, the band's shimmery melodies and tropical guitar licks soar over uplifting vocals as they spin odes to lovers and capture perfectly the romance of youth and the adventure of summer road trips.

Rukhsana Merrise and The Strumbellas will also make their Hyde Park Debut. West London singer-songwriter Rukhsana Merrise appeared on the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury last year and has supported artists such as Laura Mvula and Leon Bridges with her folk and soul-inspired sound.

Canadian six-piece The Strumbellas have won the hearts of audiences (and a Juno Award!) with their infectious “folk popgrass” tunes. With their keenly awaited album Hope due out this month, audiences will love their poignant lyrics and beautiful songs.

Last year’s sold out debut year provided attendees with a weekend of entertainment from start to finish, all under the blossoming Sussex sunshine. Promising yet another year of sensational music, wondrous attractions and a plethora of activities for the whole family, Forgotten Fields will once again stand as the definitive British festival experience, combining the picturesque landscapes of East Sussex’s Eridge Park with an even bigger lineup than before all within the intimate atmosphere that made last year’s event such a highlight.

With headliners Suede, Kodaline and Dizzee Rascal already announced alongside a huge supporting lineup including Kelis, Maximo Park, Jack Savoretti and Sugarhill Gang now even more names have been added to the second year of the annual event.

With their long-awaited debut album now on the shelves, Eliza and the Bear are surely set for a stratospheric rise. Songs like ‘It Gets Cold’ and ‘Lion’s Heart’ are festival ready anthems and their set on the main stage is not to be missed. From humble beginnings, Moose Blood have gone from DIY demos to stints on the Vans Warped Tour in the states and sold out headline tours in the UK. These Canterbury based melodic rockers are one of British alternative music’s brightest hopes and with new album Blush coming this summer, the only way is up for this impassioned four piece who headline the Horizons Stage. It would be an understatement to say that there was a buzz in the music industry about future star Isaac Gracie. His distinctive brand of folk has turned heads with good reason and festivalgoers can catch him on the Horizons Stage before he explodes to headliner status.

Also joining the lineup are psychedelic pop peddlers Beaty Heart and the 90s R&B flavoured sounds of NZCA/Lines as well as Rukhsana MerriseMolly WarburtonJudasThe Blazing ZoosGillbanksYonakaRhainMathagunn andThe Au Revoirs.

With Forgotten Fields focus on the whole festival experience and not just the music, this year sees Home Of The Unknown bring a stage of incredible activities, fun and games to Eridge Park. From Gospeloke which sees you bringing home your favourite tunes backed by a full gospel choir to Musical Bingo, dating game Blindfold Date, the Day Of The Dead themed Dance Of The Dead, quizzes from Last Man Standing and Sounds Familiar and much, much more. Home Of the Unknown will be a one-stop destination for those wanting to experience the other side of festival life!

76-16: From Eric’s To Evol (A celebration of Liverpool’s counter-culture) – Saturday 23rd July
For the last 40 years the punk-indie attitude has been prevalent in Liverpool and has led to the creation of some of the most influential cultural movements the city has ever seen. These are movements that have connected not just with the people of Liverpool but with the world. LIMF showcases those key venues, artists and scenes with live performances from the legendary BuzzcocksPete Wylie and CLINIC and more to be announced soon. This is the inter-generational story of Liverpool’s underground music scene and how it has  redefined itself in terms of music, fashion and popular culture over 40 years!

Music Director Marc Jones comments, “Liverpool has always had a small but very important underground music scene. In 1976 Eric’s opened its doors and punk exploded into life, thanks bands like the Clash, Ramones and Sex Pistols who all played Eric’s! In many ways Eric’s has been as influential to Liverpool as both the Cavern and Cream have been and out of this scene came a set of Liverpool bands that went on to dominate the 80’s…bands like Echo & the Bunnymen, Wah! Heat, Teardrop Explodes, OMD and Frankie Goes To Hollywood. It’s a great tradition that has been continued by the likes of the Lomax, Zanzibar, Evol and the much missed Korova. It’s a great story and one we will be telling at this year's Liverpool International Music Festival through a unique live show demonstrating how it has redefined itself in terms of music, fashion and popular culture over 40 years!”

Roots, Rock, Reggae – Saturday 23rd July
It has been over 50 years since Millie Small reached number 1 in the UK with "My Boy Lollipop", and introduced Reggae to the British mainstream. Subsequently that first generation of settlers and their offspring carved out their own brand of reggae here in the UK and redefined the global image of the genre as a whole. From the birth of Lovers Rock, to the driving sound of roots reggae and the interpretation of vocal reggae, the British reggae sound added a considerable amount to the music scene.

This project will see award winning BBC Radio DJ Seani B (himself a Grammy nominated Reggae producer) curate a collaboration between British reggae artists Christopher Ellis, Carroll Thompson, Sweetie Irie and Kiko Bun.

BBC Radio 1's DJ Seani B comments, "I'm honoured to bring "Roots, Rock, Reggae" to such a prestigious festival as LIMF. Reggae has brought many amazing moments to the music scene in the UK, and continues to do so. I'm always amazed by the reaction it get on my weekly BBC Radio 1Xtra show every Thursday. I'm pleased that some of my talented illustrious friends who have helped shape that history of the genre will be joining me in Liverpool – from the son of an icon, Christopher Ellis, the queen of Lovers Rock, Carroll Thompson, to a man who has helped push the sound of reggae to bands such as Damon Albarn's Gorillaz, Sweetie Irie, and the sound of the new generation, Kiko Bun."

Yes Indeed!: A Celebration of Forgotten Merseybeat Pioneers – Saturday 23rd July
A uniquely curated live performance, where contemporary vocalists and musicians reimagine works by the forgotten pioneers of Merseybeat. Working with a range of emerging and established Liverpool artists, Yes Indeed! will reinterpret and update works by the Black pioneers of Merseybeat, celebrating and unearthing their legacy.

The project will encourage cross-generational collaboration, bringing specially commissioned interpretations of these largely forgotten sounds to a new audience at LIMF’s “It’s Liverpool” stage on Saturday 23rd July. Helmed by the soul band The Equation, and featuring an enviable stable of vocalists, including XamVolo, Mersey WylieLevi Tafari, Edgar Summertyme, Amique, MiC LOWRY and Esco Williams, join us as we delve into Liverpool's untold musical past, channelled through its soul-infused artists of the present.

Musicians from some of our city’s most storied groups will join Johnny to play a show encompassing songs from Love’s three seminal LPs, including ‘Forever Changes’. This will be a once in a lifetime celebration of a very ‘Liverpool’ trans-Atlantic love affair.
