Reaching its 18th year in summer 2016, Nozstock is like a mini-Glastonbury nestled in rolling hills.
Set on a beautiful working farm in the heart of the Herefordshire countryside, the reassuringly welcoming and independent event has evolved from 50 friends gathered at the inaugural gathering and flourished into an intimate musical odyssey. Joining the dots between pop, ska, folk, funk, soul, indie, drum and bass, psytrance, house and a whole lot more, plus interactive adventure and performance for big and small kids of all ages, Nozstock is a playground for everyone, from seasoned festival goers to newbies setting out for their very first time.
Not content with changing an entire industry, Beach Break Live has also assembled a phenomenal line-up of artists, which includes the likes of Jake Bugg one of very few UK festival performances this year, AlunaGeorge, Devlin, Lulu James, Lucy Rose and Foreign Beggars. For the first time ever, Beach Break Live is also collaborating with some of the UK’s biggest labels, curators and promoters includingHospitality, Rinse FM, Digital Sound Boy, The Bedford, SB.TV, Emerging Icons and many more for what promises to be one of the most diverse music programmes this summer. From20th – 24th June 2013 Beach Break Live will take over the streets, bars, clubs and beaches of Newquay to transform the entire surfing town into the ultimate festival carnival mash up. With tickets starting at just £40, Beach Break Live promises to be the most exhilarating experience at the most affordable price available anywhere in the world. For tickets and further information see www.beachbreaklive.com
With over 700 festivals taking place in the UK each year, it is no longer acceptable to simply provide a green grass festival to several thousand ticket holders. Beach Break Live’s announcement today will transform the idea of a traditional festival format and location. Taking over Newquay to become the first UK Music Holiday, Beach Break Live has announced a plethora of entertainment including a main stage on the award winning Fistral Beach for the first time ever, secret sets in greasy spoons, feverish DJ’s in classic clubs, hidden rooftop raves, beach discos, boat parties and more. Glamping, camping and caravans will all be available for those wanting to retain some of the elements of a traditional festival while Beach Breakers are encouraged to use local businesses, accommodation and facilities wherever possible during their stay in Newquay. Revelers will be transported to a seaside heaven with pool parties, street art, circus, comedy, exclusive after party’s hosted by the likes of Hospitality, Digital Soundboy and Rinse FM, pasty parties, harbor side cinema, theatre, extreme sports, laser shows and much more.
Ian Forshew, Beach Break Live founder says:
“The festival world is changing; we need and want to bring our ticket holders more than just musicians on a stage. Beach Break Live has always had its community and the experience at its heart and over the years we have grown to become one of the biggest festivals in the UK. Now we’re playing the game changer, we’re bringing something that no one else can or will, we’re transforming not just Newquay but the whole experience, I cannot wait for what is set to be the ultimate music holiday. Imagine Rio Carnival surfing the perfect turquoise wave of Cornwall!”
Jake Bugg, the BRITS-Award-nominee and Harry Styles’ nemesis has seen a phenomenal rise to fame, not to mention critical acclaim, throughout the last year. The Nottingham born singer-songwriter has been tipped to become the sound of 2013 and Beach Break Live is thrilled to announce him as the Sunday headliner for the very first music holiday. As one of Buggs only festival dates in 2013, no doubt revellers will flock to Newquay to hear him perform live. Jack Bugg joins duo AlunaGeorge who’s recent single Attracting Flies is a sure fire hit, blending their unique melodic electro pop with lead singer Aluna Francis’s beautiful vocals.
Other artists announced today include the sultry Lulu James, London rapper Devlin, Seminal DJ Format, Scratch Perverts, and hotly tipped Lucy Rose also join the eclectic line-up, establishing Beach Break Live as a festival for new and emerging artists. Having supported the likes of double BRIT's winner Ben Howard and Ed Sheeran, Beach Break Live has always been a platform for the new and fresh, this years line-up is no different, introducing the likes of Alice Jamima whose soft vocals are set to wow crowds and Jack Wallen's easy going melodic sound coupled with his frank vocals will no doubt accompany the surfer paradise of Fistral Beach.
Beach Break Live is set to bring significant income into Newquay and is working closely with the local council, Newquay BID and all Newquay businesses, clubs, pubs and community to ensure the event is beneficial to everyone involved.
Eve Wooldridge, BID Manager for Newquay says: “We are working with Beach Break Live this year to ensure that the event is beneficial to all businesses across Newquay from hotels to retailers, we want to make sure that businesses understand the event and how they can get involved to maximise on the additional footfall that will be in Newquay for the event. The concept of the event has changed and the organisers want it to work for Newquay and we have to embrace this opportunity”

Sónar continues to add new artists to its 20th anniversary event, which will take place in Barcelona on 13, 14 and 15 June. The scheduled shows by Kraftwerk (3D show), Pet Shop Boys, Two Door Cinema Club, Lindstrøm & Todd Terje, Vatican Shadow,Bradien + Eduard Escoffet, Hot Natured and Fantastic Mr. Foxare joined by various heavyweight additions.
These new names include outfits whose appeal is tried and tested, like the British trio Darkstar, one of the most interesting projects to emerge from low-rev dubstep, who are about to release their new LP, "News From Nowhere", on the prestigious London label Warp; and the American trio Liars, presenting their excellent new LP "WIXIW," which is much more synth-based and oriented towards electronica than their previous albums.
Among the latest names to be added to Sónar Barcelona is the new artistic duo Karenn, which brings together two masters of today's rawest techno: Blawan – who astonished us at Sónar by Night last year – and the talented Pariah; the New York trap producer Baauer, who has hit the mark this year with his formula of powerful basses and rhythmic forcefulness; the British beatmaker Gold Panda, the main man at the Ghostly International label; and the haute école funk-based tech-house by the popular American dj Maceo Plex.
Sónar 2013 also presents the performance by a unique and very special duo: consisting of Adrian Sherwood, a cult name in dub in the British Isles and the founder of the influential On-U-Sound label, and Pinch, an eminent personality on the Bristol dubstep (and post-dubstep) scene.
Two international electronica benchmarks return, in the shape of Germany's Paul Kalkbrenner, now consolidated as one of today's most popular names, who will be bringing his new album 'Guten Tag' under his arm; and the Chilean-American Nicolas Jaar, who returns to Sónar for the third consecutive year entirely on merit.
Two of the biggest names on the Spanish scene, Delorean and La Bien Querida, will also be present at Sónar Barcelona. The Basque outfit are releasing a new album in 2013, two years after the international success of "Subiza," while the project by Ana Fernández Villaverde and David Rodríguez has given their songs a considerable twist, dressing them up in dazzling techno-pop costumes for their latest album, "Ceremonia."
Two unique and irreverent artists will be visiting from the United States underground scene: Mykki Blanco, the standard bearer of the movement known as "queer rap" (a mixture of hip-hop rhyming and powerful techno basses); and Christeene, a man-woman who takes the extravagance and perversion of electronic pop one step beyond mischief by means of a highly individual sense of humour.
This batch of additions is rounded off by the showcase from the French label Sound Pellegrino, in association with the historic rap group TTC and a platform for some of today's most cutting-edge and freshest dance beats, headed by Matthias Zimmermann and the Sound Pellegrino Thermal Team; and the highly respected British hip hop and grime collective Foreign Beggars, presenting their powerful new album, "The Uprising".

Featuring the best electronic talent around, the cross-genre Glade Stage is headlined by German techno-legend Sven Vath. Having enjoyed a hugely successful worldwide career spanning over 30 years, Sven is one of the founders of German techno and a driving force behind electronic dance music with his infamous Cocoon label, parties and nightclub. Famous for his marathon club-sets at Berlins notorious Dorian Grey to weekly parties in Ibiza to a non-stop global tour schedule, we are very pleased to welcome Sven to Glade.
SvenVath said of performing: I'm really looking forward to performing at this year's Glade Festival! I've heard a lot about this event, that it is a serious music lovers' festival with a great line up and most of all I'm looking forward to DJing in the great English countryside.
Joint headlining is Drum & Bass hero Andy C who presents his jaw-dropping Alive stage show. Having spear-headed the scene since the early 90s, Andy and his Ram Records label have been at the forefront of this UK dance explosion. His Alive show will see a unique audio / visual extravaganza closing the festival on Sunday. Joining these two prolific artists and rounding off our headliners is French techno don Vitalic, a man who has been decimating dance floors across the globe since the late 90s with his unique brand of electronic funk on labels such as International DJ Gigalo and PIAS.
Elsewhere on the line up we see a quality mixture of proper electronic music taking in the progressive from the sublime Robert Babicz, techno from German scene-leaders Marc Romboy and Extrawelt. Drum n Bass is represented by UK duo Drumsound and Bassline Smith whilst Rusko brings the Dubstep and Radio 1 DJ and Sheffields pin up Toddla T joins Don Letts for a dub, reggae and beyond set on Sunday.
The Glade Stage also represents live music with US sensation Pretty Lights performing alongside festival stalwarts The Dub Pistols and British hip-hop, grime and dubstep super group Foreign Beggars.
With plenty more talent performing and another exclusive headliner yet to be announced, expect nothing but the best, whatever the genre – all weekend.
The Glade is proud to call itself the UKs spiritual home of psychedelic culture and the Psychedelic Village is a celebration of this. With the mighty Origin Stage at the heart of this area playing host to Nano Records 10th Birthday Party and much more powered by glorious Funktion 1, this stage will be banging come rain or shine. This year we are more than chuffed to welcome back the Liquid Stage, which will run from dusk til dawn in our beautiful new forest area (more on that below…) and playing host to the cream of the UK scene. Providing respite from the onslaught of EDM no Glade would be complete without InSpiral who this year focus on chillout with a superb line up to make your journey complete.
This year we also welcome the team that built the incredible Ozora festival over the past seven years to join us. They will be helping with the décor and production throughout the Village and much more.
Elsewhere expect healing areas, a psychedelic cinema, World Shift, talks, art, food and so much more… Come and join us. This is going to be proper… it really is.
NEW WOODED AREA!
Thats right… weve got a lovely wooded area for you to play in this year! The wooded area will play host to two stages; the Liquid Stage and our new open-air dance floor The Meteor that lies in a crater inside the forest. More on that to follow in future announcements! Elsewhere expect hot tubs, spas and many more treats.
