Another act making his long awaited SW4 debut in 2014 is undeniably the hottest property in house music right now; Marc Kinchen aka MK. Having been responsible for creating some of the defining sounds and biggest house tracks in the 1990’s, including ‘Burning’ and his pioneering remix of Nightcrawler's 'Push The Feeling On', MK took a break from dance music until 2011 when he remerged more prolific than before.Through his timeless productionsMK’s  renasissance has infuenced a new generation of fans resulting in his sound becoming more dominant today than it ever has been. After releasing ‘MK In The House’ for Defected in 2013, it was clear that MK was back to his very best, with his remix ofStorm Queen’s #1 single ‘Look Right Through’ becoming the pivotal track. Further remixes of Disclosure, London Grammar, Hot Natured, Haimand Paloma Faith are additional evidence of his huge demand and with continued  dominance on the cards in 2014, we cannot wait to welcome theArea 10 boss for a house music masterclass

Whether it’s causing havoc on our Main Stage or anarchy is his own arena, Andy C’s standout performances at SW4 over the years have made him one of the most popular acts that we showcase each summerUniversally recognised as one of the greatest DJs to walk the planetThe Executioner has helped to shape drum & bass for over twenty years. Repeatedly scoring awards for 'Best DJ' by the likes of DJ Magazine, National D&B Awards and the Drum & Bass Arena Awards amongst others, Andy’s long-standing contribution to the scene is unrivalled. After selling outhis upcoming ‘Andy C All Night’ event in just a few days, his huge fanbase will arrive on Clapham Common in great numbers for the next uncompromising DJ set from their hero. As one of dance music’s most sought after acts, we’re delighted that Andy has once again chosen South West Four for his exclusive London festival appearance.

Sónar continues to add new artists to its 20th anniversary event, which will take place in Barcelona on 13, 14 and 15 June. The scheduled shows by Kraftwerk (3D show)Pet Shop BoysTwo Door Cinema ClubLindstrøm & Todd TerjeVatican Shadow,Bradien + Eduard Escoffet, Hot Natured and Fantastic Mr. Foxare joined by various heavyweight additions.

These new names include outfits whose appeal is tried and tested, like the British trio Darkstar, one of the most interesting projects to emerge from low-rev dubstep, who are about to release their new LP, "News From Nowhere", on the prestigious London label Warp; and the American trio Liars, presenting their excellent new LP "WIXIW," which is much more synth-based and oriented towards electronica than their previous albums.

Among the latest names to be added to Sónar Barcelona is the new artistic duo Karenn, which brings together two masters of today's rawest techno: Blawan – who astonished us at Sónar by Night last year – and the talented Pariah; the New York trap producer Baauer, who has hit the mark this year with his formula of powerful basses and rhythmic forcefulness; the British beatmaker Gold Panda, the main man at the Ghostly International label; and the haute école funk-based tech-house by the popular American dj Maceo Plex.

Sónar 2013 also presents the performance by a unique and very special duo: consisting of Adrian Sherwood, a cult name in dub in the British Isles and the founder of the influential On-U-Sound label, and Pinch, an eminent personality on the Bristol dubstep (and post-dubstep) scene.

Two international electronica benchmarks return, in the shape of Germany's Paul Kalkbrenner, now consolidated as one of today's most popular names, who will be bringing his new album 'Guten Tag' under his arm; and the Chilean-American Nicolas Jaar, who returns to Sónar for the third consecutive year entirely on merit.

Two of the biggest names on the Spanish scene, Delorean and La Bien Querida, will also be present at Sónar Barcelona. The Basque outfit are releasing a new album in 2013, two years after the international success of "Subiza," while the project by Ana Fernández Villaverde and David Rodríguez has given their songs a considerable twist, dressing them up in dazzling techno-pop costumes for their latest album, "Ceremonia."

Two unique and irreverent artists will be visiting from the United States underground scene: Mykki Blanco, the standard bearer of the movement known as "queer rap" (a mixture of hip-hop rhyming and powerful techno basses); and Christeene, a man-woman who takes the extravagance and perversion of electronic pop one step beyond mischief by means of a highly individual sense of humour.

This batch of additions is rounded off by the showcase from the French label Sound Pellegrino, in association with the historic rap group TTC and a platform for some of today's most cutting-edge and freshest dance beats, headed by Matthias Zimmermann and the Sound Pellegrino Thermal Team; and the highly respected British hip hop and grime collective Foreign Beggars, presenting their powerful new album, "The Uprising".

Orbital to headline Slam Tent at T in the Park

DJ Yoda joins the Saturday line up and for the very first time, the Slam Tent will be open from the Friday with Sven Väth and Slam at the helm, playing extra-long sets from 5pm until midnight to bring the big club atmosphere straight into the tent across the weekend of 6th – 8th July.

OrbitalUndefeated champions of British electronic music, Orbital get back in the ring in 2012 with Wonky, their first new album in eight years.  Both timeless and contemporary, heart-warming and exhilarating, Wonky puts a vividly modern spin on their signature blend of richly melodic, deeply emotive electronica.  After seven albums and more than fifteen years together, Orbital took themselves off the scene in 2004 for five years but this only increased demand for their emotionally uplifting music, especially their legendary live shows in front of huge festival crowds.  Orbital first played T in the Parkwith a stunning set in the Slam Tent in 2002 and a decade later they return for what is certain to be one of the seminal music moments of the summer, showcasing festival-rocking anthems in the making as well as vintage live favourites such as Chime andBelfast. Revitalised, rebooted and reunited, Orbital are ready to reclaim their title as lightheaded lords of the dance arena, at T in the Park 2012.

With his 2010 European tour boasting in excess of 100,000 attendees, Paul Kalkbrenner marked a milestone in the realm of live electronic music performance.  The tour followed his acting debut as the fictitious DJ Ikarus in the modern cult classic Berlin Calling and until then, no other musician from Germany had established himself in this genre with such overwhelming response, not just from all the dancefloors, but also in the hearts of newfound fans from beyond the club and techno scenes. Whether behind the decks or infront of the camera, Paul Kalkbrenner’s success story continues to soar and fans are in for a treat when he performs his first ever live set in Scotland, in theSlam Tent at T in the Park 2012.

DJ YodaDJ Yoda is no ordinary scratch DJ.  His seminal How to Cut & Paste series showcased a tongue-in-check mixing style that prompted Q Magazine to declare him ‘one of the top 10 DJ’s to see before you die’. From hip-hop beginnings, DJ Yoda has evolved in the past ten years using his turntable skills and diverse influences as varied as Funk, B-more, Kuduro, Reggae, Drum’n’Bass and even Big Band Swing and Country and Western to make unashamed party music. Trail-blazing into the world of audio-visual, he pioneered a new art form, using cutting edge technology to scratch and mix visuals on top of his DJ sets in the clubs. Fans can prepare for a very special set in the Slam Tentthis summer.

Gary Beck is regarded as one of the most prolific and inventive producers in the current electronic music scene. Renowned for his own unique sound, Gary is currently in high demand all over the world. Championed by many of the biggest names in techno, including Pete Tong, Dubfire, Chris Liebing, Len Faki, Nic Fanciulli and Richie Hawtin, Gary is set to release his début album on Slam's Soma Recordings in autumn this year.

Hans Bouffmyhre started off promoting his own party in Glasgow called 'Sleaze' booking and playing alongside some of the world’s best Techno acts. His own releases have gained huge support from the best in Techno, including Richie Hawtin, Dubfire, Adam Beyer, Len Faki, Marco Carola, Steve Lawler, Laurent Garnier, Stephan Bodzin, Joris Voorn and many more. At only 24, the future looks bright for Hans Bouffmyhre.

The Slam Tent is a T in the Park essential for the discerning music lover with a taste for the finest beats around.  Over the years the Slam Tent has hosted juggernaut sets from the likes of Leftfield, Daft Punk, Fatboy Slim, Derrick May, Wu-Tang Clan and Laurent Garnier to name just a few of the performance titans to play stand out sets.  With an atmosphere second to none, a whole extra night to party (Friday) and mind blowing sets a plenty – 2012’s line up is guaranteed to please, way into the night.

David Guetta returns to Heineken Balaton Sound 2012

Meet the line-up:

David GuettaThere’s no other festival in the world where David Guetta feels more at home like at Heineken Balaton Sound. No wonder, he already played stunning shows at the event for the last 4 years and is more than happy to return.

Berlin Calling star Paul Kalkbrenner is never short of creative energies – unlike the character he plays in the famous movie). He has been already headlining the biggest parties of Germany and Europe, so it’s high time for him to come and play at the lakeside event.

Sander van Doorn has always dealt with a wide range of electronic styles and already earned many awards with his powerful trance productions – clearly regarded as anthems of the scene.

You love family reunions? Not really? Just check out how the Kalkbrenners do it at this year’s Heineken Balaton Sound. You have the chance to listen to the live version of the biggest techno hit of the last few months, Sky & Sand, thanks to Paul Kalkbrenner and his younger brother. Fritz Kalkbrenner has always been involved in the German e-music scene and created his own sound, a style that’s close to his brother’s productions, but mixed with hip-hop, house and even soul elements.

Another great performer of the Balaton event will be Gareth Emery, a world famous trance DJ and producer and a regular at the biggest international e-music parties. Also in the line-up Maceo Plex, the American musician and producer, who nowadays lives in Spain and is mainly experimenting with deep house elements. You might know his earlier works as well, as he produced tech house and techno tracks under the names Meatrik and Mariel Ito.

Besides Björk we are happy to host another Icelandic super production at this year’s Sound, namely Gus Gus, playing a sophisticated and welcoming style of electronic music. And let’s not forget about Feed Me, a truly entertaining, fresh and eye-catching side project of Jon Gooch, aka Spor, representing the British drum’n’bass, dubstep and electro house scene.

Nina Kraviz is a remixer, singer-songwriter and a resident DJ of Moscow’s most popular club, the Propaganda. She is surely used to play for full houses and most probably experience the same this summer in Zamárdi. Crazy P is another great asset in the line-up, an electronic production, also using live instruments (drums, guitars) as a key part of the show. They will arrive to Lake Balaton, presenting their new album, When We On.

Tensnake, aka Marco Niemerski is a true messenger of disco’s rebirth. The Hamburg-based DJ-producer is very popular in the German underground electronic scene, inspired by house, the disco era and the 80’s electro-funk craze. Last but surely not least, we are pleased to announce Dapayk Solo, aka Niklas Worgt, representing the Berlin club scene and experimenting with many styles (like drum’n’bass, house) before arriving to the world of minimal techno in the mid-2000’s. And rightly so, as Groove magazine awarded his debut album with ‘the best of the year’ title, while Niklas became the producer of the year.

If you like what you’ve just read, please don’t forget that early bird tickets are only available until 15 April. Of course you can also buy your ticket afterwards, but it surely makes sense the think ahead.
