We are delighted to welcome back Resident Advisors' No.1 DJ Seth Troxler, since entering the scene Seth has ignited the world of house and techno with a barrage of critically acclaimed vocal jams. Under the label 'Visionquest' Seth, Shaun Reeves, Ryan Crosson and Lee Curtis have made some groundbreaking music, their most recent remix being a track from David Lynch's debut artist album. Together their 'Visionquest' project has spawned the most exciting new record label in dance music today.

Dubfire also makes a welcome return, after wowing the crowd's at the EXIT 10th Birthday with a legendary back to back (click2click as they called it) set with Richie Hawtin. This time around the Grammy-winning recording artist Dubfire will have the decks all to himself, ready to take the EXIT crowd on a journey with his renowned, seamless sets.

Pan-Pot have become a dominant presence in modern techno, an ascent mirrored in the rise of their home label 'mobilee records' to the top tier of electronic music. They are "the dark side of the force", they've melted minds, warped perceptions and reinvigorated the dancefloor with their heady, unorthodox sound. All we can say here in Dance Arena mordor is hell yeah, bring it on.

We love techno and we know you do too so we've also got Matador live twisting your tiny little minds. We won't tell you his real name because it's not as scary as Matador but we'll tell you that his journey into techno first began when listening to early DJ compilations, 'Dave Clarke's World Service', 'Richie Hawtin's Decks Efx 909' and various others. "Deep, Dark, Chuggy, Warped, Trippy, Driving… once it?s interesting, I'm on it" he states, so you can only imagine what he's going to be doing. 

For deep house lovers we introduce Subb An b2b Adam Shelton, from sultry and atmospheric sounds to the acid-drenched and techy, the pairing of these two will be something worth salivating over.

Apollonia are the next big thing! They are a collaboration of three of Paris underground's hottest exports, Shonky, Dan Ghenacia and Dyed Soundorom who are gearing up for a back2back2back showcase spectacular. They are Circo Loco's favourite French trio, playing at the Ibiza club DC10 all summer and now we too will get a taste of that sweet honey. DJing together with one-vinyl-each, back2back concept for the full duration of the show… Boom!! And who said vinyl was dead?!

Last but certainly not least we have the first lady to be announced, Deniz Kurtel a striking and uniquely gifted producer, her first releases were the 'Whisper' EP and her remix of No Regular Play's 'Owe Me' on Wolf + Lamb and recently she has released her 'Yeah' EP and remixed the single 'Fables & Fairytales' by N/A on Crosstown Rebels, and her debut album 'Music Watching Over Me' solidified her as 'one to watch' and we're looking forward to seeing what she's got up her sleeves.

Thom Yorke’s Atom For Peace to headline Exit Festival

Joining Thom on the Main Stage will be Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea, longtime Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, drummer Joey Waronker of Beck/REM and percussion virtuoso Mauro Refosco. This will be a once in a lifetime opportunity to see such highly acclaimed artists performing on stage together in the unique setting of the Petrovaradin Fortress at EXIT.

THE RE:VOLUTION CONTINUES…
Having already announced the addition of the zero (fifth) day of the festival and a collaboration with world's biggest bass culture brand UKF, EXIT 2013 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting editions to date. Taking place from 10th -14th July in the magical Petrovaradin Fortress the 2013 edition will be extended to five days, offering even more value for money, adventure and excitement. 

So far the eclectic line up of acts include; Atoms For Peace, DJ Fresh Live, Friction & MC Linguistics, SKisM, The Prototypes, Inspector Dubplate, Brookes Brothers and Dub Phizix & MC Strategy. And this is just the beginning, more headline acts will be announced very soon.

In 2013 EXIT will introduce the zero (fifth) day of the festival, which will be held both at the Petrovaradin Fortress and in the city of Novi Sad. In addition, EXIT 2013 will see many conceptual upgrades in regards to the previous festival editions.

We always want to improve the festival and give more to our audience. Music will still be main focus of the festIval, but new concepts will add to the festivals carnival spirit and atmosphere said Ivan Milivojev, the managing director and one of the founders of the festival. 

In addition, we are opening the festival to ideas from all around the world. As one of the leading group of creatives in this part of Europe, our intention is to set up the festival as platform for quality creative and social initiatives, and help their realization in the festival and beyond – said Dusan Kovacevic strategic director of the festival and one of the founders.

From a Student Protest to a World Renowned Festival.
EXIT Festival has come a long way in the last 12 years. Evolving from the student protests of 2000, the expression of rebellious spirit of young people in Serbia and fighting for political change and freedom. Erykah Badu, Hercules & Love Affair and more for Exit Festival 2012

First up on the Main Stage is Erykah Badu, the undisputed queen of R'n'B and Neosoul, who will performon Saturday, 14th July. A four-time Grammy winner, this inspiring American singer defined the pages of Soul music history with her outstanding voice, atypical styling and hits which include Love Of My Life, On & On, Bag Lady, Window Seat, Tyrone and Honey, and many more. From her debut, Baduizm, released in 1997, godine, to the latest album named New Amerykah Part Two (Return of the Ankh) from 2010, her musical opus has been woven through with African beats, American Blues, Jazz, and Funk.

Also on the Main Stage will be New York-based band Hercules & Love Affair who will perform on Friday 13th July. A musical project led by DJ Andy Butler is a perfect combination of disco, nu-disco and house sound. With hits such as Blind and You Belong, which featured Antony Hegarty, the leader of Antony & The Johnsons, as well as the exotic Nomi Ruiz, they have enchanted the masses. After an extremely successful debut album, released in 2008, Andrew Butler returned last year with an album named Blue Songs, carrying out his original idea of rotating cast of performers and musicians. Therefore, current members of the band include DJ Kim Ann Foxman Aerea Negrot, Shaun Wright and Mark Pistel. Polish your shoes to the maximum, these indie heroes have prepared a spectacular disco experience!

On Friday 13th July the Fusion Stage welcomes the hot British five-piece actCitizens! Their talent was first recognized by Franz Ferdinand's Alex Kapranos, who is producing their debut album, Here We Are, due for release through Kitsuné on, 28th May 2012. Implementing key elements of a good pop song, melodic vocals and music which will make your shoes dance themselves out, Citizens! have firmed their place in the music world with singles such as True Romance and Reptile. Bravely treading the untrodden paths of the genre, alone against the world, they claim not to be as serious as we could expect. Since “pop is not a dirty word“, as they often proclaim about their aesthetics in music, the only thing left is to believe them and have fun during their set!

EXIT are on a roll with more acts being announced and even more still to come.  First up are pop legends Duran Duran, who will kickstart the opening night of the festival performing on the main stage with original band members John Taylor, Roger Taylor, Nick Rhodes and Simon Le Bon. Showcasing songs from their most recent, critically-acclaimed album All You Need is Now, alongside iconic hits such as Girls On Film, Rio, Planet Earth, Hungry Like The Wolf, The Reflex, Notorious, Come Undone and Ordinary World. Duran Duran

"All of us at EXIT are thrilled beyond words that Duran Duran will be playing at this year’s festival. So many memorable hits to look forward to along with new material from their recent album should stamp 2012 as another defining moment for EXIT" said EXIT General Manager Bojan Boskovic.

Over on the Fusion Stage one of Scandinavia’s best indie bands, Little Dragon will perform on Sunday 15th July providing the best tonic in the form of Swedish electro pop act Little Dragon. A four-piece band, headed by the astonishing vocals of Japanese-Swedish singer Yukimi Nagano. Little Dragon have released 3 studio albums – with the most recent Ritual Union (2011), earning rave reviews from critics and fans alike. Rolling Stone magazine describes the album “hits a sweet spot between the futuristic soul of their debut and the synth pop of 2009's Machine Dreams“. There is no disputing the combination of Nagano’s dazzling voice and collaborations with eclectic artists including Gorillaz, DJ Shadow and SBTRKT, serve to confirm the groups rising popularity and their set is not to be missed.

More underground and serving up the finest cutting edge electronica the HappyNoviSad Stage presents the R&S Records showcase, featuring Lone, Pariah, Teengirl Fantasy Live and The Chain. The British duet, Teengirl Fantasy, have achieved numerous successes in only three years with their single from the album 7AM, named Cheaters, which was was named Single of the Year by Fact Magazine, and toured with the grand Crystal Castles.  Lone aka Matt Cutler has released four albums and 5 EPs in only five years with his most significant work Lemurian, released in 2008. The critics described the album as a sensual release with a distinctive identity. Matt Cutler is also active in a project named Kona Triangle.  Under the moniker Pariah hides the dubstep and future garage producer Arthur Cayzer, who released his single, Detroit Falls, as well as an EP,Safehouses on R&S Records. He is also famous for remixing tracks for the The xx and Erykah Badu. Alongside his colleague, James Blake, Pariah has received praises from very influential media such as Pitchfork and Resident Advisor, and is being considered one of the most important producers of Britain’s new wave of dance music, identified by many as post-dubstep. Concluding the list, we are proud to welcome another name of R&S Records’ – The Chain, aka London producers Dan Foat and Nathan Boddy.

And that's not all as the Elektrana Stage welcomes the Australian act Sneaky Sound System consisting of the guitarist and producer Black Angus, and the singer Connie Mitchell. Their most recent hits From Here To Anywhere, Big, Really Want To See You Again and We Love are still renowned in Oz. During their career, the band has also collaborated with worldwide stars such as DJ Tiesto, Azari&III, KiNK and many others.

EXIT FESTIVAL UK WARM UP PARTIES
In the run up to July’s festival we are partnering up with some of the UK’s most notorious clubnights to bring a taste of the festival to the UK. From Liverpool to Brighton, Leeds to Southampton, and with Manchester and London in between, we’ll be delivering in abundance a taste of hedonistic party mayhem you will simply not want to miss. EXIT Festival announce Plan B, Avicii and more!

Plan BFirst up is Plan B aka Ben Drew – singer-songwriter, rapper, actor and film director came to prominence with the 2006 release of the critically acclaimed hip hop album ‘Who Needs Actions When You Got Words’. His next project, the soul-influenced ‘The Defamation of Strickland Banks’, takes the listener on a journey of a man who finds success hard to handle and then hits rock bottom. Released in 2010, the album went on to become the fifth biggest seller of the year and continued a chart presence through 2011. Featuring crafted hit singles like ‘Stay Too Long’, ‘Prayin’ and ‘The Recluse’, awards have abounded for artist and album alike including Brit Award for Best British Male and a trio of Ivor Novellos: Ben Drew ­ Songwriter of the Year; The Defamation Of Strickland Banks ­ Album of The Year and ‘She Said’ – Most Performed Work.  See Plan B take the main stage by storm on Saturday 14th July.

This years electronic antics steps up another notch announcing one of the biggest djs on the planet right now Avicii in the famous Dance Arena on Thursday 12th July.  The lad needs little introduction as Avicii is THE rising star of the electronic music scene making the top 10 in the 2011 DJ Top 100 poll at only 21 years of age and scoring millions of fans with his 'Levels' track which reached the top 10 in 14 European countries.  Hailing from Sweden and having first emerged onto the scene in 2008 with a remix of the theme song to the Commodore 64 video game Lazy Jones, Avicii's first release was signed to Strike Recordings, entitled 'Lazy Lace.' If you don’t already know about him then you will, Avicii is definitely one to watch and his recent collaboration with David Guetta on a track called 'Sunshine' was nominated for a Grammy award under the category for Best Dance Recording. Avicii is already taking on the dance music world by storm – Guetta better watch his back!

Making a welcome return to the EXIT Dance Arena is the cheekiest cat in dance,Felix Da Housecat, a name as synonymous with house music as it is with being the moniker of one of the greatest innovators of the current Electro sound.  Regarded as a member of the second wave of Chicago House, Felix da Housecat's breakthrough 2001 album, “Kittenz and Thee Glitz”, took the dance music world by storm as his collaborations with the now infamous Miss Kittin on "Silver Screen" and "Madame Hollywood" and "What Does it Feel Like" spawned a synth club revival.  Felix Da Housecat has music in his veins and the world has recognized this with two Grammy Award nominations for the legendary DJ/Producer. Felix is one of electronic music pioneers and we can’t wait for him to dominate the dancefloor at EXIT.

Performing live on the same night is the unusually named Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (TEED) moniker Orlando Higginbottom, swinging between an overt musicality and scarily on-point dancefloor sensibility, ripping up clubs around the globe with his live show of bizarre instruments, glitter cannons and of course… dancing dinosaurs. His first two EPs (released in 2009 and 2010) have already stirred up the commotion around TEED, set to culminate this May with the release of the debut album, so brace yourselves for exclusives in the Dance Arena. Orlando’s greatest and latest adventure is the famous trip to Congo, where he worked closely with local musicians, as a producer, personally invited by Damon Albarn and Oxfam on their DRC LP project.

Led by the famous enfant terrible and the icon of rock ’n’ roll culture Axl Rose, “G n’ R“ have been missionaries of the rockers’ freedom, accumulating sales of more than 100 million albums worldwide. Guns N’ Roses earned their recognition and popularity in the 80s and the 90s with its music, which is a blend of hard rock, blues rock, heavy and glam metal, but also with their spectacular concerts, scandals and fights. Laurent GarnierOn Sunday 15th July French electronic music pioneer Laurent Garnier joins EXIT for an unforgettable finale with his new tour entitled ‘L.B.S’.  Only three letters but several different meanings: "Laurent + Ben + Scan X", "Live Booth Sessions", "Loud Bass & Samples", LBS is a new, very club orientated project that will bring together Laurent Garnier (DJ & machines), Benjamin Rippert (keyboards) and Stephane "Scan X" Dri (machines). Straight out of the DJ booths of some of the best clubs on the planet, L.B.S offers the best of both worlds by combining the versatility and flexibility of the DJ set with the ability to experiment tracks live. Two decks, a Rhodes, several keyboards and machines will be used to create organic improvised four-hour sets guaranteed to work the dance floor and keep those feet moving. Laurent Garnier explains a little about his project "I especially want to carry on creating and exploring whether through Dj-ing or playing live. But also, get even closer to the public than we can in a festival. During the live sections of L.B.S I will be developing and fine-tuning new tracks in front of (and with) the crowd to create the live of the future, but also to test out new tracks. We’ll be taking our time, something that isn’t really the done thing nowadays!!” Laurent has always pushed the boundaries of electronic music and we can’t wait to see what this new project has in store for the 20,000 strong Dance Arena crowd.  Watch L.B.S at Nuits Sonores here for a taste of what is to come 

Saturday 14th July will see the enigmatic Canadian Azari & III take to the stage for a live performance. Having received  many rave reviews in 2011 and produced highly regarded tracks such as ‘Hungry for the Power’ and ‘Reckless (With Your Love)’, this mysterious act have been active under various pseudonyms since the mid-90s, and have experimented with every genre, from garage rock to house and disco. Numerous original tracks and remixes vary from melancholic numbers with a slice of ambient, all the way to dancefloor anthems knit together with techno. Controversies associated with the first video for ‘Hungry for the Power’ which was deleted from Youtube for explicit content only fuelled the hype around them, with the debut album named after the band itself, which was released in August 2011 on Tiga’s Turbo Recordings, earning exquisite scores from critics and fans alike.

On Thursday 12th July Brodinski will take to the decks, closing the first night of the festival. Brodinski is one of the most exciting young producers to have emerged on the scene in the past few years. His sets contain everything from hard techno, pumped up house to old school and the freshest hip hop. The Brodinski stir-up started in October of 2007, when his first single Bad Runner saw the light of day. Brodinski surfed on the waves of glory in the best possible manner – the second EP, Oblivion soon followed, for the label Turbo Recordings, which was later followed by a compilation named The Best of Everything. The next logical step for the 24-year old was the formation of his very own label, named Bromance, in November of 2011. Brodinski started this year with another boom, a remix of a track named ‘On'n'On’, by the French duo Justice.

First of the acts for the elclectic Elektrana Stage are Danish electro pop band When Saints Go Machine. The four-piece band was formed in 2007, and their debut album named 'Ten Makes a Face’ was released two years later. This all-boy electro pop band, often compared to the likes of Bloc Party and Empire Of The Sun, replaced the electro pop melancholy of the first album on their new release named 'Konkylie', with a more mature sound and energetic tones, leaning towards dance electro as opposed to the previous Scandinavian pop effect. Combining vocoder and a colorful downbreaking electro effect, though associated more with indie rock than electro, WSGM are tieing together a unique frame, creating a new echo in the history of electro pop.

Wolfmother, Gossip and more set for Exit Festival 2012

On Thursday 12th July the charismatic Beth Ditto will return to Novi Sad with the Gossip for an opening night to remember. Combing soul, punk and Beth’s incredible vocals, the Gossip have gained an army of fans worldwide with their infectious brand of powerful and seductive post-punk rock music. Their third album "Standing in the Way of Control" brought them international critical acclaim, from which “Music for Men" was the follow up release in 2009 and their first with a major label.  With hits such as "Heavy Cross" and "Long Distance Love", the Gossip will once again turn the Main Stage into an electrifying dance cauldron with their extraordinary energy.

Australian band Wolfmother will perform on Sunday 15th July with their exhilarating brand of no nonsense rock. Having been famously described as “what you’d get when Mars Volta, Black Sabbath, Led Zepplin and White Stripes collided in space” their performance will not to disappoint. In their relatively short career the band have won with a plethora of international awards, including a Grammy for their hit single “Woman” taken from the band’s 2005 debut self-titled album. Rapidly becoming a mainstay on modern-rock radio stations around the world, EXIT is excited to welcome such a globally acclaimed band to the main stage.  

The mighty Dance Arena line up is also hotting up with some of the biggest and coolest names in the electronic music scene including Richie Hawtin, Miss Kitten, Art Department and Maceo Plex.

Richie Hawtin needs no introduction as one of the world’s top DJ’s and producers who is a leading exponent of the minimal techno scene and an influential player in second wave of Detroit Techno. Also known for his abstract, minimal works under the alias Plastikman and head honcho of the Minus label, Richie is always an artist to push the boundaries and he makes a welcome return to the EXIT Dance Arena onSaturday 14th July with his new and exciting LED show with visuals by Ali Demirel.

Joining Hawtin on the 14th July will be the devine Miss Kitten, who will perform at EXIT for the first time.  Having honed her skills and progressed her sound into the more leftfield, electro and electronic realm, Miss Kitten has an uncanny and intuitive sense of selection that not only flows but also maintains that primary sense of the party. As a producer with her long time partner the Hacker she produced tracks such as "Frank Sinatra" and "1982" which launched her to the electronic elite, and collaborations with the liked of Felix Da Housecat and Sven Väth strengthened her newly established status. This year, Miss Kittin is preparing her third solo album, so we can expect exclusive premieres at Dance Arena.

Crosstown Rebels sensation Art Department will make their first ever performance on the Dance Arena on Sunday 15th July. The duo consisting of Canadian techno/house star Kenny Glasgow and the biggest Canadian rising star Jonny White. Kenny’s career goes back to the 80s, when he released for Narcotic, Jinxx, Turbo as well as his own Method 11/11 label, and White’s label, No. 19, which has a discography growing at ultra-speed, currently stands at the leading place of the international scene. Separately, they have a great number of critically acclaimed releases, and currently they are recognized as the most advanced underground producers of North America.

Also confirmed for the 15th July is Maceo Plex, one of the many rising starts of the Crosstown Rebels label. After many years of prolific works on such labels as Treibostoff, Dumb Unit, Audiomatique, to name a few Maceo aka Maetrik travelled the word playing in some of the best clubs such as Rex, Cocoon, Fabric, Womb etc. Since then Maceo has begun to strip back his robotic Armor to expose a more musical and groove based side with his music shining brighter than the star Sirius and his set at EXIT will be one of galactic proportions.

EXIT are excited to announce New Order as one of the first headliners for the Main Stage. Formed after the demise of Joy Division, New Order are one of the most critically acclaimed bands of our time and have influenced the music scene for years. Combining rock and pop with electronic and dance music, and the energy of underground clubs, New Order has consistently pushed the boundaries creating a unique sound to lift and inspire. With a string of hits under their belt including Blue Monday, the best selling 12” vinyl single of all time. New Order’s music never fails to get the party started and their performance on Friday 13th July is sure to a night to remember being their first time to play at the fortress.

Over on the Fusion Stage, through the cobbled streets and ramparts Portuguese world music sensation Buraka Som Sistema make a welcome return to EXIT. Effortless blending techno beats with the African kuduro genre, Buraka Som Sistema are renowned for their energetic and explosive troupe of dancers and MCs. The band have also won an MTV European Music Awards and released their second album ‘Komba’ in 2011.

Gearing up to take to the decks in the legendary Dance Arena for 2012 are Luciano, Reboot Live, Kenny Larkin, Robert Dietz, Maayan Nidam for a special Cadenza Records showcase on Friday 13th July.  The Dance Arena, renowned for its incredible energy and set within a moat of the fortress walls. Swiss-Chilean DJ and producer Luciano who worked his way up the ranks alongside many of the initiators of the Latin Merican electronic music scene. Now living in Switzerland his mixed Chilean and Swiss identity shows in his music with a mystical blend of deep techno and electro and a colourful splash of rhythms alongside his trademark groovy and minimal beats. Reboot is another returning artist to look forward to, with another awe inspiring live performance from the German musician whose DJ sets incorporate the whole spectrum from deep minimal sounds to driving electronic-tech vibes and old school house. Kenny Larkin is one of the world leaders of Detroit techno in the electronic music industry and has mesmerized crowds across the globe for nearly twenty years with his music and he will do the same the summer in the EXIT Dance Arena. Hailing as one of Beatportals’ artists to watch in 2009 Robert Dietz has honed his musical prowess on the Frankfurt club scene to create his own hypnotic, sexy, nuanced take on electronic music. And last but by no means least is Maayan, whose global upbringing has resulted in the creation of a diverse sound that includes an ass friendly sense of the groove and a bubbling sense of funk with a wooly low end and crystalline highs.
