Rita Ora rocketed to fame in 2012 with more #1 singles in the UK Singles Chart than any other artist last year, with singles Hot Right Now, How We Do (Party) and R.I.P from her debut album Ora all hitting the top spot.
Rita joins the already confirmed and previously announced line-up of main stage headliners Jessie J and Example, along with JLS and DJ Fresh, with Rinse and Hospitality hosting Stage 2
Sundown Festival spokesperson, Dion Clements comments: “Being able to announce we’ve added the amazing Rita Ora to the line-up at Sundown Festival 2013, along with Jessie J, Example, JLS and DJ Fresh having already been announced, is just awesome! Rita’s another big artist who brings a real buzz with her”
Example will headline the main stage on Saturday, back by massive demand after the Kickstarts, Changed the Way you Kissed Me and Say Nothing singer whipped-up the crowd to huge acclaim at Sundown’s inaugural festival in 2011
DJ Fresh – the man behind hit dance tracks Gold Dust, Louder and Hot Right Now – is the second artist to be confirmed for Saturday’s main stage line-up
Sunday’s main stage headliner is none other than one of the biggest female singers in the UK today… the sensational Jessie J is coming to Sundown Festival 2013! The Do it Like a Dude, Who’s Laughing Now and Nobody’s Perfect singer – whoseDomino video has racked up more than 100million views on video sharing site YouTube – has been repeatedly called for, by Sundown Festival audiences, to perform at the huge end-of-summer event
Also announced for Sunday’s main stage is the biggest UK boyband of a generation, JLS, whose hits like She Makes Me Wanna, Hottest Girl in the World and Beat Again have seen the four-piece capture the hearts of millions across the UK
Sundown Festival 2013 will see the addition of a second outdoor stage, Stage 2, which will provide a House, Garage, Dubstep and Drum ‘n’ Bass edge to the event. Hosting that stage on Saturday will be Moda Black, whose top house tracks Knee Deep in Louise, Hurt You and the aptly titled Sundown have firmly established them as one of the UK’s most exciting record labels for progressive electronic music
Hospitality, the live event arm of hugely successful Drum ‘n’ Bass label Hospitality records – which itself is home to artists such as High Contrast, Netsky, Danny Byrd and Camo & Krooked – will host Stage 2 on Sunday
Sundown Festival spokesperson, Dion Clements comments: “With the huge strides taken by Sundown Festival in quickly establishing itself as one of the UK’s best live music events to end the summer season, Sundown 2013 is set to expand even further on previous years. Example absolutely smashed it as part of the line-up two years ago, to the extent we all felt a little bad for the artist that followed in the running order… so this time he will headline the first full day of Sundown. Jessie J has been the single most requested artist, by Sundown fans, yet to appear, so we’re absolutely ecstatic about bringing her to the Sundown main stage to headline the Sunday”
Dion adds “With our unique mixed offering of the top urban, pop and dance acts, Sundown caters for a massive range of tastes in the music spectrum, bringing together a truly diverse music audience for one huge weekend”
Sundown Festival will take place at the Norfolk Showground on Saturday 31 August & Sunday 1 September. For more information, or to book tickets for the event, visit www.nationalboxoffice.co.uk, or call 0871 224 1112 / 1113
All ticket types are on sale from 1000, Friday, 8 February – tickets, booked in the first 48-hours only, can be snapped up at the same price as last year
Electronica supergroup Moderat, the adroit fusion of Modeselektor and Apparat will release the follow on from their highly acclaimed self-titled album that saw them voted no. 1 Live Act in 2009 by RA readers. The Berlin production trio will debut new material with a very special live performance at Eastern Electrics, set to coincide with the worldwide album release date. A meteoric rise to success has seen Maya Jane Coles become one of electronic music’s most sought-after talents, and with her hotly anticipated debut album dropping later this year, the pint-sized producer is only just getting started. International superstar DJ Sasha will be making his first EE appearance as will Soul Bros, a heady union of Soul Clap and TheMartinez Brothers. After stand-out performances at last year’s Festival and NYE, MK, Maceo Plex, Miguel Campbell and Huxley will all be welcomed back for 2013.
Adding to the already robust techno constitution are some of the scene’s most influential innovators in the form of “The Baron Of Techno” himself, Dave Clarke, Ovum head honcho Josh Wink, Moon Harbour founder and resident of infamous DC10’s Circoloco Mathias Tanzmann, Luke Slater’s alter-ego Planetary Assault Systems and genre main-stays Raresh and Deetron.
Honouring not only the cutting edge in house and techno, but celebrating it’s heritage, Eastern Electrics 2013 will see a rare UK performance from one of house music’s most influential production duos and true pioneers, Masters At Work. With a career spanning almost two decades ‘Little’ Louie Vega and Kenny ‘Dope’ Gonzalez are celebrated for an eclectic body of work, instrumental in helping shape the course of electronic music and earning them the ‘Outstanding Contribution’ Award at the US Dancestar Awards at the Miami Winter Music Conference 2002.
With over 40 more artists still to announce including some of the biggest names, making for a total of over 100 artists, playing 24 parties over 3 days in 1 epic location.

The full line-up pretty much consists of every artist I've ever wanted to book, my only worry now is how we're gonna top this next year! – roll on the summer!”

Expect to hear hits from the band’s extensive catalogue as well as tracks from their current Number One double album ‘Opposites’. With a recent NME Award nomination for ‘Best British Band’ and ‘Best Live Band’, 2013 is set to be an incredible year for Biffy Clyro. Reading & Leeds Festivals, the biggest rock festivals in the UK, are the perfect place to witness the band in action.
One of the most successful alt-rock bands of all time, System Of A Down make a welcome return to Reading & Leeds. The band have only played a handful of gigs since they reformed in 2010, but they are back in the UK to play the Main Stage at the 2013 Festivals, which is sure to be a highlight of the weekend.
Reading & Leeds are excited to announce that recently reformed festival favourites Fall Out Boy will take to the Main Stage in a UK festival exclusive performance. Their live shows are always anarchic and tend to include a few irreverent turns. Their performance at the Festivals this summer will feature songs from across the band’s entire career and will be unmissable.
Foals have played Reading & Leeds Festivals three times before, working their way up from the smallest tent, to this year taking their rightful place on the Main Stage. Recently nominated for ‘Best Track’ (‘Inhaler’) and ‘Best Live Band’ at the NME Awards, their Reading & Leeds performance will be one to watch.
Since 2012 Jake Bugg has scored a Number One album with his self-titled debut, received nominations for ‘Best Album’ and ‘Best Solo Artist’ at the forthcoming NME Awards and is shortlisted for ‘British Breakthrough Act’ at the BRITs. Catch him on the NME/Radio 1 Stage at Reading & Leeds this year.
British metalcore dons Bring Me The Horizon have been destroying huge crowds for almost a decade. The band’s shows on the Main Stage at Reading & Leeds Festivals will crown a year in which they went stratospheric, as well as give fans a chance to hear new material from their highly anticipated forthcoming album ‘Sempiternal’.

Chagstock is one of the Westcountry's best-loved festivals. Set in 45 acres of farmland on the northern edge of Devon's beautiful Dartmoor, Chagstock is renowned for its stunning location, diverse line-up of artists and family-friendly atmosphere. Chagstock showcases the very best music, food and entertainment that the Westcountry and the UK have to offer.
Returning after the stunning sell-out success of last year's event which featured memorable performances from KT Tunstall, Fun Lovin Criminals, Seth Lakeman and Alabama 3 amongst many others, Chagstock retains its traditional 2-day format in 2013.
As introduced last year in recognition of the tough economic climate for families, all children under 12 can attend for free (ticket is required). Chagstock's capacity is once again capped at just 5,000 tickets to ensure that its intimate, family-friendly atmosphere is maintained.
Simon Ford from Chagstock Festival says, "After last year's sell out success – our first ever – everyone involved in Chagstock Festival is committed to making 2013 our best year yet. We know times are tough for people so we are keeping our prices at last year's levels, meaning a whole family can spend the weekend at Chagstock for less than the price of a single adult ticket to some of the corporate music festivals. We look forward to seeing first-timers and regulars alike at Chagstock 2013"
This year's fancy dress theme will be 'Circus'

A travelator of epic proportions, this easy access, fun ride will grant even the weariest of BoomTown legs access to the whole site ensuring that all the adventures the Aladdin’s cave of BoomTown has to offer are a mere hop, skip and a magic carpet ride away… Also new for BoomTown 2013 will be the unveiling of the epic 15 metre high Lion’s Den Mayan temple, the sizzling streets of the brand new Barrio Loco and the Arcadia Spider moving even further into the depths of the DownTown district…
Never ones to keep the sky as the limit, BoomTown Fair will this year play host to a gargantuan 300ft moving carpet ride to escort rambling residents up the, often fearful gradient, of the affectionately known ‘hippy highway’. Due to the increase in the number of districts and big changes to the city’s layout, with the Lion’s Den, Oldtown, The Town Centre and Mayfair Avenue moving out of the bowl and up to the top, the ever caring Town Mayor plans to introduce a flying carpet for residents and tourists alike to take the strain off their dancing shoes and soak up the breathtaking vista of the BoomTown’s cityscape. Boomers can purchase a weekend pass for a mere £10+bf to use this easy-breezy form of transportation, ensuring that the important energy is saved for sampling all the serious fun BoomTown has to offer! Tickets are limited so be sure to get a ticket now to make achy legs a thing of the past, and BoomTown teleportation the way of the future!
Another mystical treat for the BoomTown faithful this year is the discovery of the mega Mayan temple, known as the Lion’s Den. For the past few years the worshipers of the Lion’s Den, the reggae capital of BoomTown, have been skanking it out in a cosy, beat-a-licious, tent temple, but now reggae fans across this land can worship their reggae gods in a temple fitting for their Rastafarian rulers! The recent unearthing of gigantic temple has meant that the Lion’s Den sunshine tunes and daylight dancing can be moved to its rightful home amongst the great and the good of roots reggae culture! For the full video of the unbelievable unearthing of such an ancient discovery head to BoomTown Discovery Channel here
With the recent announcement of the city split and the confirmation of the new permanent residential districts of BoomTown, some inter tensions have arisen: The Mexican mariachi’s of El Barrio Loco are staking claim to being THE new party hotspot in town… with the influx of ‘Ciro Baile’s’ explosive and energetic circus mixed with back to back fiestas, side-show shenanigans, spicy senorita’s and sensational salsa showdowns, the gauntlet has been thrown down and it’s up to the great BoomTown public to decide! Other more established areas refuse to allow such an outlandish statement to be made and the disgruntled folk of DownTown have awoken their mega monolithic monster, the Spider of Arcadia and instructed him to stomp his way through the seedy streets to stake his claim in the centre of DownTown to whip up the residents into a frenzied state ready to battle it out for the party crown – they may be Down, but they certainly not out… Keep an eye out for all the upcoming election debates on BoomTown’s facebook page.http://www.facebook.com/boomtownfair1?fref=ts
“After listening to the overall consensus of the BoomTown massive from last year, it was clear that what people really wanted was a device to ensure less time spent marching up the hill and more time spent on dancing! So the people have spoken and we have listened! We’ve pulled out all the stops to make this happen and are stupidly excited to be the first festival in the UK to have a Ski-lift running though our festival!”
Lak Mitchell and Chris Rutherford – BoomTown Fair Head Honchos
With so much going on behind the city walls of BoomTown in these normally sleepy winter months, it’s easy to forget that there is the whole musical line up still to be announced! Well, fear not as this has never been far from the Town Mayor’s mind and he is busy putting the finishing touches to the first musical morsels to be announced next Thursday 7th February!
Bringing you a multitude of acts over the 3 days starting Friday evening and delivering through till Sunday! Saturday alone will have at least 10 acts on Main Stage to keep you in your dancing shoes all day – Wiley will be performing his number one hit ‘Heatwave’, band of the moment LAWSON will be taking to the stage and the evening will be topped off with a LIVE performance from JLS, the perfect weekend.
Other local artists will take to the 2nd stage and the infamous "Dance shed"; OSFEST truly has something for every musical taste.
Watch this space for Sunday’s acts to be revealed!
The list of acts for this year is looking superb and we will be releasing updates over the next few weeks – we in the Osfest office are working tirelessly to bring the BIGGEST and BEST Osfest so far… BREAK FOR THE BORDER… be part of it – get your tickets today!

At the Isle of Wight Festival 2013, the hottest acts around will be delivering a host of stunning performances throughout the weekend, including unforgettable headline sets from The Stone Roses (UK Festival exclusive),Bon Jovi and The Killers. The much loved Festival will also feature Paul Weller, The Boomtown Rats (UK Festival Exclusive), Emeli Sandé, Jake Bugg, The Script, Bloc Party, Paloma Faith, The Maccabees, Ellie Goulding, plus many more.
Commenting on his Sunday night Bestival Headlining set, Elton John said: “I haven’t played any of the major festivals in the UK in recent years, so when the opportunity to play Bestival came up I was very interested. I’ve heard that the Bestival audience comes in fancy dress and I can’t wait to see that, they must all look amazing from the stage. At various times I have worn enormous feathered head-dresses, cloaks, hot pants, jumpsuits, clown suits, Donald Duck, Minnie Mouse, French Maid, The Eiffel Tower and The Statue of Liberty onstage! Wearing fancy dress makes us all feel less inhibited so I think it’s a great way to enjoy live music.
“2013 marks the 40th anniversary of the release of the Goodbye Yellow Brick Road album, so you can expect to hear several tracks from that album. My shows always involve audience participation, singing and dancing, so make sure there is plenty of room for movement inside those fancy dress costumes!”
Taking time out from splicing the mainbrace, Rob da Bank said: “So here we are…our tenth birthday…like a small child proudly entering double figures…but here’s Bestival still wearing ill fitting shorts and running about with grazed knees giggling in the sunlight…Happy days! After 10 years of running our beloved festival, Bestival is still as psychedelically wondrous to us as the September day in 2004 when we first threw open the gates. 2013 will be a vintage year. No increase in capacity but more land, a raft of exciting changes around the site including some great new spaces and all dressed and made up in Bestival’s signature style.
“Band and DJ wise we’ve cast our net far and wide… as ever Bestival 2013 will be a magical mix of the old and the new, the vintage and classic rubbing shoulders with the ultra modern and leftfield. From one of the biggest selling artists of all time and certainly the best at fancy dress, Elton John, through the party blazing hip-hop of Snoop Dogg through amazing rare shows from the likes of The Knife, to the newest of the new bands and acts that I’m so excited about like Jagwar Ma, Merchandise and Cashmere Cat plus literally the finest selection of house and techno DJs we've ever had from Richie Hawtinand Carl Cox to Besti stalwarts Erol Alkan and Annie Mac– this will be our best Bestival yet, so don't miss out!"
Well, what can we say? In a UK festival exclusive and playing his first major festival set on home soil in many years, we’re over the moon that Elton John and his band will be headlining Sunday night at Bestival! Very probably pop music’s most outrageous son, Sir Elton Hercules John’s reputation as an incendiary live act who pulls out all the stops to put on a scintillating show filled with glitz and glamour makes him, without any shadow of a doubt, the perfect megastar to bring the magic and mayhem of Bestival’s tenth birthday to a close. After partying at the original IOW festival as a young musician in the late 60s we’re very proud that Elton finally gets to perform on the Isle of Wight at Bestival. With more than 30 albums and over 60 UK chart hits to his name, Sunday night is guaranteed to be full-on sing-along good times. We’ve already started stockpiling the platform boots, feather boas and glitter. It’s going to be a proper party!
With Sunday night well and truly taken care of, we are beside ourselves with joy to announce that the Doggfather himself Snoop Dogg will be wowing the Bestival main stage crowd as our Saturday night headliner! Hip-hop icon, pop culture phenomenon, izzle speak don and quite simply one of the most gifted spitters ever, Snoop Dogg’s live show takes no prisoners with his laidback flow capping an almost endless catalogue of super-fat beats. With a forthcoming album produced by Major Lazer and some of hip-hop’s biggest anthems under his belt, you can expect Saturday night at Bestival to blow you away.
We have, of course, got plenty more amazing live acts coming aboard including the mighty M.I.A with a UK festival exclusive set and anthemic Scottish four-piece Franz Ferdinand playing an English festival exclusive. We’re also very pleased to announce the welcome return of psychedelic bliss merchants TheFlaming Lips playing a UK festival exclusive set, off the wall Swedish art-pop duo The Knife, rap music revolutionaries Wu-Tang Clan, the unpredictably chameleonic Bombay Bicycle Club playing an English festival exclusive set and neo-soulsters The Roots playing a UK Festival exclusive set.
Plus we’ll have knock-out appearances from majestic indie pop stalwarts Belle & Sebastian, beguiling chanteuse Jessie Ware, the deservingly hyped Disclosure, BBC Sound of 2013 winner Tom Odell, the incomparable Sinead O’Connor, disco overlords Chic featuring Nile Rodgers, Warp legend Squarepusher, a live set from dancefloor smashers Hot Natured, the hottest rapper in the world Angel Haze, kaleidoscopic choral collective The Polyphonic Spree, quite possibly the greatest guitarist of his generation, Johnny Marr and indie giants Bastille. In what are the first festival shows confirmed for both bands this year, we’ll have mind-bending riffs from Peace and blistering RnB from The Strypes, who have been getting everyone from Elton John to Noel Gallagher out on the town to check out their brilliant live show. We will also be welcoming next level drum n bass behemoth DJ Fresh, Dexys performing their acclaimed show “One Day I’m Going to Soar” plus a few Dexys favourites, chart bothering juggernautRudimental, woozy garage rockers The Walkmen and legendary Mancunian poet John Cooper Clarke.
And that’s not all as we will have live sets from Lissie, The Wonder Stuff, Caravan Palace, The Cuban Brothers, Matthew E White, While She Sleeps, Merchandise, Mikill Pane, True Tiger, Sexy Sushi, Is Tropical, Skaters, Lulu James, Swim Deep, Fleetwood Bac, Jaipur Brass Band, Kawa Circus, Lewis Watson, Jaws and J-Cats. And we’ve still got lots more live acts to announce!
Stepping up to the ones and twos on a mission to move your dancing shoes are a whole host of groove controllers including the Plastikman himself Richie Hawtin, techno don Carl Cox, Bestival favouriteAnnie Mac Presents, Detroit via Berlin techy house hero Seth Troxler, Mark Ronson going back to back with Zane Lowe in their A-Yo guise, new beat tzar Julio Bashmore, house doyen Maya Jane Coles, omniscient eclecticist Erol Alkan, the sublime reggae of David Rodigan presents RAM JAM, fathomless fiend Dixon, legend of the deep Kerri Chandler, trailblazer Eats Everything, Numbers featuring Jackmaster, Spencer, Redinho, Sophie and special guest Rustie, the future funky dub love of Joy Orbison, the fabled Fabio + Grooverider and a full on Hospitality Bestival takeover, hosted byWrec & Dynamite and featuring High Contrast, Danny Byrd, Nu:Logic and Fred V & Grafix.
Plus we’ll have speaker splitting action from Marcel Dettman, DJ Yoda, The Daft Punk Tribute Night in The Hidden Disco, Redlight, Bondax, Heidi, Ed Rush, Fake Blood, Jesse Rose, Justin Robertson, Andrew Weatherall And Sean Johnston’s A Love From Outer Space, Ben UFO, Cyril Hahn, Daniel P Carter, Catz N Dogz, My Love Is Underground, Cashmere Cat, Krankbrother, Ben Pearce, Dollop DJs, Alexander Nut, Roska, Bodhi, Kry Wolf, Coley From Luv*Jam, Crispin J. Glover and Bad Zuke with many more still to come.
