The Stone Roses to headline T in the Park 2016

The Stone Roses are the first act to be announced for T in the Park 2016, which will take place over 8th – 10th July 2016 at Strathallan Castle.
 
T in the Park is one of three headline concerts announced by Ian Brown, John Squire, Mani and Reni today. As well as the festival, the band will also play two concerts at Manchester Etihad Stadium on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th June.
 
A limited release of tickets for T in the Park 2016 will go on sale this Friday 6th November at 9.30am. Tickets are available from www.tinthepark.com or www.ticketmaster.co.uk or 08444 999 990, and a payment plan is available enabling festival-goers to pay for early bird tickets in four instalments.

The world famous Bondi Beach will play host to the legendary Beach boys this Saturday 14th November, for a guaranteed summer experience to remember. Typifying ‘The Sounds of Summer’, it’s a perfect match to have them performing on the beach at Bondi, which is viewed as the quintessential Australian beach, to launch the new and introduced BONDI BEACHFEST!  Confirmed as their only Sydney show, the Beach Boys are set to play ALL of their golden hits over two 1 hour sets.

One of the most influential and enduring bands in pop history, The Beach Boys have album sales of over 100 million, 32 American Platinum and Gold awards, an induction into the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame and a Lifetime Achievement Grammy award. Captained by Mike Love, The Beach Boys music defines youth and fun fun fun in the sun, evoking places where life is renewed through sun drenched days in the surf and glorious nights in the sand. Their catalogue spans over five decades and has produced a string of more than 50 timeless hits including California Girls, Good Vibrations, Surfin’ USA, Sloop John B, God Only Knows, Sail On Sailor, Kokomo, Surfer Girl, Help Me Rhonda, Barbara Ann, Wouldn’t It Be Nice, Surfin’ Safari, I Can Hear Music, The Warmth of the Sun, Little Deuce Coupe, I Get Around, Heroes and Villains to name just a few.

The Beach Boys will headline the very first Bondi Beachfest with support from the following Australian Artists:

The Whitlams are one of Australia’s favourite bands whose appeal reaches audiences of all ages and tastes. With lyrics described as having a “charming cynicism” and enhanced by an instinct for poignant melody, they have become a staple of the local music scene. 

Busby Marou, originally from Rockhampton, will entertain the crown with their melodic guitar riffs and meaningful lyrics – mandolins, ukulele and whistles, stories of travels across the globe, and the pull of home.

Also fitting onto the bill nicely is Kim Churchill, who has already accomplished impressive feats in his short time as a professional musician. He is the name on everyone's sultry lips and with good reason. Kim Churchill, the surfy dude from New South Wales, is four albums deep and hundreds of shows down and has truly found his signature sound with his latest release Silence / Win.

And Brisbane artist Sahara Beck refuses to sit still and will be on the stage for Beachfest, accompanied with just her guitar. Over the past year she has released a critically acclaimed EP, toured and played shows non-stop, had her music featured online and on television, collaborated with numerous artists, written countless new songs and released another EP – BLOOM.

Not only that, along with live performances from the Legendary Beach Boys and the supporting bands, more family fun activities have been added to the day to celebrate Beachfest!  These include:

  • A Surf Lifesaving Parade by the Bondi Life Savers which will include a March Past, Beach Flag event and Board Race/Demonstrations.

THE SURPLUS FESTIVAL 2015 @ PORTH KERRY, CARDIFF ON 3rd – 5th JULY 2015.
This was the 2nd Annual SURPLUS FESTIVAL & is a proper gathering of Souls! It's for EVERYONE & ANYONE!!
It's been described by the organisers as a festival for ALL;
TRAVELLERS, CRUSTIES, PUNX, ROCKERS, RAVERS, HIPPIES, GEEKS & FREAKS & EVERYONE in-between!
This was a REAL old-school Festival where people were uniting, re-uniting & reliving the true Festival circuit from the past.
This Festival was REAL people doing it proper!!!!
FORGET all the corporate BS, It's back to basics. Totally happy people enjoying a great festival party atmosphere, watching festival bands that have been doing it for 20years or more, along with some new up & coming bands who fit into the eclectic mix of the whole scene!
SURPLUS FESTIVAL 2015 was small enough to be personal but BIG enough to be an EVENT!!!

We arrived on site on Thursday nite at 2am in the morning, after a long drive, but this didn't pose a problem, we were welcomed onto the site, & the way the site was set out it meant we could get onto the site, with the car/living-vehicle, park-up & then find ourselves an area to set up along with everyone else. The nice thing being that we were all in the same living area be you in a living-vehicle,car,teppee,bender or tent. Nobody was segregated off , & it was all still part of the Festival Site! We didn't even have to pay entry or show a ticket, no hectic confusion, just welcomed, let in & tat yourself down for the weekend!
The site was a great set up, 1 big great lush field, segregated off – Living-Area & Festival Site…..simple & effective!!!

It was located on the South Coast of Wales this year @ Porth Kerry, Cardiff! There's a great 2 minute walk to a stoney beach, with lovely views over North Devon, which was accessible to all festival goers.

THE SURPLUS FESTIVAL 2015 itself had 3 main Live Music Stages & everyone there was promoting a GREEN ENVIRONMENT with SOLAR POWER & RECYCLING & UPCYCLING!!!!!

It was a Dog/Animal friendly Festival , although they did ask for a small donation of £5 which is passed on to their chosen charity!!!!

The festival was set up as a Family-Friendly event, with a kidz area, Daily Workshops, Healing areas, Stalls selling Festival wares & crafts, Walkabout Entertainers, Live Music throughout the day & night & a shed load of Food Stalls selling an array of delights to cater for people with all tastes & eating preferences.
There was an acoustic music tent, entertainment of all types, fireshows & a communal Firepit for when the music wound down & came to an end & there were still many of us wanting to carry on the festivities. People gathered every night round the fire with acoustic instruments & sang, danced, talked & socialised into the early hours, & the fire burnt all day & night througho9ut the Festival providing a place for everyone to catch up.
People were catching up with old friends & making new friends creating a wicked atmosphere of unity, peace & pure happiness!!!!!

THE SURPLUS FESTIVAL 2015 was a 500 capacity festival,& for a 3 day weekend Adult ticket it only cost £50 & £15 for Teens & kids get in FREE!

The line-up of bands was amazing……..
AOS3 , RADICAL DANCE FACTION, CULTURE SHOCK, BACK TO THE PLANET, INNER TERRESTRIALS, LACERTILLA,THE SPORADICS, 3 DAFT MONKEYS, ATONOMADS, PRIMEVAL SOUP, ONE EYED GOD, KILNABOY,AFTERKOP, BUFF, A NOISE,TRIBAZIK & many many many more bands, playing throughout the festival on the 3 stages/tents!!!!There was always something going on that would keep you & your family & friends entertained, & as you were set up so close to the festival site going back to your living area & the festival site was not a chore, also leaving your belongings in your tents, benders, teepees, cars or live in vehicles unattended was NOT a problem! – the whole atmosphere & buzz of the festival & the people who were there enjoying the event were a friendly, respectful & honest bunch of people – there were no problems or unsavoury events all weekend, & no thefts or fights or problems of any sort!!It was a refreshing, happy, fun, amazing, friendly, family atmosphere!
It was full of happy people just getting down & having what we all know as an OLD SCHOOL FESTIVAL,all enjoying it, ALL TOGETHER!!!!

SO……A BIG BIG THANK YOU goes out to ALL of the ORGANISERS, PERFORMERS, BANDS & ALL THOSE INVOLVED in making SURPLUS FESTIVAL happen & also to ALL those who purchased tickets & went & enjoyed the event!!!

Rammstein confirmed as final headliner for Download 2016

Rammstein announced as the third and final headliner for Download Festival 2016. Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden also headlining the 3 day metal fest, taking place on 10-12 June 2016 at the spiritual home of rock in Donington Park, Leicestershire.
 
Headlining Friday 10 June at the home of rock, German visual masters,Rammstein will bring their outlandish pyrotechnics and techno theatre to Donington. Always putting on a live performance of epic proportions, the Goth industrial group will no doubt open the show in spectacular fashion. Rammstein return to Donington having headlined Download, Europe’s biggest rock and metal festival, in 2013.
 
 
Epic in scale and capable of touching all of the senses; a dark and spectacular fairy-tale laced with controversy and don’t-try-this-at-home theatrics, Rammstein are: Till Lindemann and Flake Lorenz, Christoph Schneider, Paul Landers, Richard Z. Kruspe and Oliver Riedel.
Rammstein said: “Download is a festival; it is not a moon landing"
 
IRON MAIDEN will make a spectacular return to Download Festival on Sunday 12 June to headline the final day of Download Festival, their only UK show of 2016. The band will fly in to East Midlands Airport on their enormous Boeing 747-400 jumbo jet Ed Force One, piloted by Bruce Dickinson and carrying band, crew, stage production and equipment over 55,000 miles around the world, visiting 35 countries on The Book Of Souls World Tour.
Bruce Dickinson comments:

'Download is a very special place for us. Not just because it’s always great to play on home turf but because there’s a truly unique vibe there, it’s the very heart of England and of Metal, so a fitting place for Iron Maiden! The crowd is always fiercely passionate and the whole band feeds off that famous Donington energy. We aim to deliver a really memorable show for our fans to close the 2016 Festival. Although this is our sixth time headlining at Castle Donington, it’s the first time we’ve been able to land Ed Force One right on the doorstep of the Festival site!.'

'We haven't decided on the set list as yet and won’t until we start rehearsing but we really look forward to playing a number of new songs live, especially as the recording was so much live. However, as it’s been a while since we saw you all, I am sure we will include plenty of older fan favourites too. I think the fans will be delighted by what we have in mind. The legendary Black Sabbath – Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler – will be returning to headline Download Festival 2016 on Saturday 11 June. 

Nearly five decades on from their beginnings in Birmingham, the band – who have been widely proclaimed as ‘The Greatest Metal Band of All Time’ – will be coming back to the spiritual home of rock at Donington Park as part of their FINAL ever tour entitled “The End”, which will see their biggest and most mesmerising production to date.

Australian dance music festival Stereosonic’s international line-up for November 2015

The incredible bill consists of hugely successful electronic artists that have dominated music, radio and streaming charts across the globe. The artists featured in this year’s festival include Grammy, Billboard and ARIA Award winners who have performed on major international stages throughout the world, and at the most prestigious clubs and festivals.

Major Lazer was the first artist announced on Sunday, 12 July 2015 as one of the headlining acts this year. Major Lazer is arguably the biggest act in electronic music, and with their incredible track ‘Lean On’ receiving over 2.5 million streams on Spotify daily and achieving a #1 chart position in Australia, they are looking forward to bringing their energetic live show to Stereosonic this year.

Joining Major Lazer on the international line-up is Armin Van Buuren, Axwell^Ingrosso, DJ Snake, Duke Dumont (live), Galantis, Clean Bandit and more.

Armin van Buuren, the five-time winner of DJ Mag’s Top 100 artist DJ poll eagerly awaits his return to Australia, remarking, “I can’t wait to be back in one of the countries I love the most in the world! Billboard Award winning artist, DJ Snake has taken the world by storm in the last 18 months, with his track ‘Turn Down for What’. The Frenchman’s debut performance at Stereosonic last year has become legendary and he is planning his triumphant return, adding, “I’m excited to be coming back to Australia and play at Stereosonic. It’s always a good time.”

Australian artists joining the bill that have enjoyed local chart success and international recognition include; Peking Duk, MaRLo, What So Not, Will Sparks, Hot Dub Time Machine, Timmy Trumpet, Tigerlily, Generik, Slumberjack and Carmada.

The 2015 line-up has consciously been curated to meet the tastes of various types of electronic music fans, with the introduction of arenas to create genre specific environments. The arenas are – Stereo, Sonic, ATLANTIS, The Woods and Beatport. They will showcase acts from various genres including commercial, house, trap, bass, trance, electronica, techno and deep house music.

Stereosonic was recently awarded 2014 Favourite Touring Festival in Australia and will return to its original festival format this year with a jam-packed one-day event. Totem Onelove Group has ensured the ticket price is great value, starting at $129.95 (plus booking fee). The ‘Good Times Embassy' upgrade tickets (does not include Stereosonic ticket) are available for $60.00 (plus booking fee) and ' The Palms' VIP tickets will be priced at $280 (plus booking fee) and are only available in Sydney and Melbourne.

Iron Maiden to headline Download 2016

Download Festival 2016, the UK’s ultimate rock festival is back, announcing IRON MAIDEN as festival closing headliners on Sunday 12 June 2016. The 3 day rock and metal fest is set to take place on 10-12 June 2016 at the spiritual home of rock in Donington Park, Leicestershire.

IRON MAIDEN will make a spectacular return to Download Festival on Sunday 12 June to headline the final day of Download Festival, their only UK show of 2016. Community 2015 LDN details

This November, Community takes over the creative hub of Shoreditch and Hoxton for three days, playing host to new and emerging talent across 11 well-established East London venues and a collection of reimagined spaces. From hip hop and grime to indie, rock and electro pop, Community will showcase a genre diverse line up of acts hotly tipped for 2016. Over 60 acts have now been announced including Blonde, Petite Meller, Vince Staples, Clean Cut Kid, RAT BOY, and Hacktivist, plus many more. Community will introduce a global spectrum of acts in an urban, multi-venue event held in some of East London’s most established venues including; the Miranda at the basement of the Ace Hotel, the charismatically urban Cargo, the Tea building’s industrial basement Concrete, former public library The Courtyard Theatre, the eclectic Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen, gritty favourite The Macbeth, cultural hub the Red Gallery, the enduringly popular The Old Blue Last, renovated turn-of-the-century warehouse Village Underground, quirky Hoxton haunt Zigfrid Von Underbelly, renowned club XOYO, as well as bike shops, bakeries and butchers.

Snowboxx 2016 announce first acts

Off the back of last year’s sell out event, winter snow sports and music festival,Snowboxx announces it’s first wave of stellar acts for its 4th week long annual event in its brand new home mountain home of Avoriaz from 12th– 19th March 2016.
 
With its move to the snowy peaks of Avoriaz, France for 2016, Snowboxx is now nestled in the largest connected ski area in the world with 650km’s of pistes and the best snowparks in Europe and features its very own festival village which includes a massive main stage, après area, ice bars, tasty food vendors, festival attractions and some of the best snow brands in the Alps.
 
Snowboxx will be the ultimate festival epicenter and is accessible by skis, snowboard or foot to the heart of Avoriaz. There are also more venues and standout features on this years program which reflect the new expanded capacity, making this the most ambitious Snowboxx event to date.
 
As ever, Snowboxx has a varied and creative line up in store for 2016. The team today announce just a few big names for the first wave of acts; hip-hop legend Grandmaster Flash, former front man of The Streets; Mike Skinner, Grime’s man of the hour Stormzy, chart smashing Drum & Bass duo Sigma, and a show stopping live set from Blonde all form the beginnings of this year’s huge line up.
 
Snowboxx’s even has it’s very own nightclub; XX, which this year brings Radio One’s Monki, who will be hosting her infamous night with Monki & Friends.
 
With many more exciting acts, stages, terraces and brand partners to be announced soon, Snowboxx 2016 promises an electrifying mix of live acts and DJ’s.
 
Taking over the French resort of Avoriaz for an entire week 12th -19th March, the festival is a hive of activity and as ever, Snowboxx is about more than just the music, there is a full schedule of unique off slope festival activities on the  program, from human bowling to pro snowball arenas, Snowboxx has really thought outside the box to bring endless immersive content such as the Karaoke Cabins and Stash Park BBQ amongst many other things. With more features to be yet announced, guests can expect surprises around every corner of the resort and a truly unforgettable experience.
 
This year, to add to the already jam packed program, Snowboxx are teaming up with French festival Rock The Pistes who bring a full week of live mountain top music to areas across the Port Du Soleil region. Stages are dotted across the mountain range making everywhere a party on the festival piste.
 
Snowboxx is a great opportunity for skiers and snowboarders of all levels to experience the fantastic tree lined pistes and variety of runs that the Port Du Soleil region is famed for. Whilst festivalgoers take to the mountains to enjoy the region’s famous pistes, first-timers can get lessons on the bunny sloped or simply enjoy the activities in the festival epicenter.
