Bloodstock announce 2016 Friday headliner

Hot on the heels of their MASTODON announcement last weekend, BLOODSTOCK are thrilled to confirm that their Friday night headliner will be TWISTED SISTER.  

Not only that, this will be the only UK show on the band's ‘Farewell 1976 – 2016’ tour, so your last chance to catch the band live in the UK, as they are set to call it a day after the untimely passing of their drummer AJ Pero earlier this year.

Guitarist Jay Jay French comments: “Our journey in the UK that began in Wrexham in 1982, ends with Bloodstock 2016!  Without the recognition that we received from our UK fans, the world would never have known nor would we ever have reached our 40 year milestone!”

TWISTED SISTER join the bill alongside Saturday’s headliners, MASTODON, plus Friday’s special guests, BEHEMOTH and VENOM.

BLOODSTOCK will be held at Catton Park, Derbyshire on 11th-14th August 2016.

Bestival 2015 was a psychedelic wonderland that brought the third Summer of Love to life! With a passionate crowd of hippies, ravers and lovers, it was four days of sun-drenched joy.

Rob da Bank says: “Thanks a million for making our Summer of Love so spectacular… It was a crazy colourful explosive ball of fun and love and music and mad things happening. With truly memorable moments and amazing new things like Slow Motion, Missy, the Carnival Parade, the Port, the Blind Tiger, the Chemical Brothers, Revolution Ride, the Love-Bot and a thousand other things I could list, I think we’ve taken it up another level this year and having such a lovely crowd was no small part of that. I’ve already got some amazing things lined up for next year, so watch this space!”

Featuring incredible headline sets from Missy Elliott, Duran Duran, the Chemical Brothers and Underworld, and mind blowing performances from Boy Better Know, Tame Impala, The Jacksons, Flying Lotus, Skrillex Annie Mac, Future Islands, Duke Dumont, Mark Ronson, Charli XCX, Action Bronson, our special guests House of Pain and so many more, not forgetting what can only be described as an utterly insane reaction to the Chuckle Brothers, it’s a been a truly vintage year!

With a mass busk, an eight metre tall Love-Bot, the return of our record breaking disco ball and our beloved I Heart Bestival sign, totally delicious food, our brand new arena Slow Motion, cuddly llamas, jaw-dropping night parades, glitter-strewn cabaret, Carnivale, fantastic comedy and most of all you, our summer-loving crowd, filling our lysergic land of awe with delight, we don’t think it could have been any better! So we want to say a massive heartfelt thank you for making it another absolute corker.

Leeds’ brand-new August bank holiday event welcomes a plethora of emerging acts for their exciting fourth stage, curated by Eat Your Own Ears & Now Wave. Saturday will see electronica 3-piece Haelos from Bow in East London perform their 2014 head-turner ‘Dust’, plus brand-new material. Joining them is the unique sounds of Whilk & Misky, a provoking infusion of techo, folk, electronica and blues, whilst Manchester’s Dutch Uncles will perform tracks from their acclaimed fourth new album ‘O Shudder’. Wrapping up Saturday is post-electro band Errors who are signed to Mogwai’s Rock Action Records label, plus a very special headliner to be announced.

 

Sunday welcomes Honne, a lo-fi, syth-heavy soul duo who will be injecting some feel-good vibes into The Garden Party along with the vintage disco sounds of duo, Formation. Joining them are Bernard & Edith, one half of Egyptian Hip Hop and whose slow and haunting vocals over lingering syths have drawn comparisons to Swedish band The Knife. Finally, Warp stalwart Lonelady will complete the fold along with a yet-to-be revealed headliner.

 

Food will feature heavily over the weekend courtesy of Leeds Indie Food Festival, featuring traders Boozy Q, Sela, The Cocktail Shack plus craft beer.

 

Other acts to feature over the weekend include Roisin Murphy, Little Dragon, Mos Def, Todd Terje, John Talabot, Julio Bashmore and more. MINT festival adds Skepta & Zed Bias to 2015 line-up

Adding to an already stelar assemblage of electronic music heavy weights, MINT Festival are excited announce some further additions to their 2015 line-up. 

Sunday the 20th September will see the unstoppable grime MC Skepta come to the Wetherby Racecourse, playing the Detonate + Jungle Jam arena alongside the likes of Sub Focus, Shy FX and Cause & Affect. 

Also on the Sunday, MINT Festival welcomes the legendary Zed Bias, an artist who has been pushing the underground bass scene forward for the past two decades. Zed will present his 'Madd Again' LIVE showcase, featuring MC's Trigga and Killa Benz, expect a big, bashy, grimey affair.  

Skepta and Zed Bias will join a wide range of electronic artists over the two day event, including Sven Vath, Green Velvet, Ricardo Villalobos, Skream, Maya Jane Coles, Todd Terry, Seth Troxler and many more.

Bestival Announces Shy FX Sound System Line-up‏

We’re very excited indeed to reveal the line-up for legendary beat supremo Shy FX’s Party on the Moon Bollywood takeover.

Bringing the action to a close on Sunday 13th September, the latest in our Bestival’s Summer of Love Bollywood takeover series, the Party on the Moon will see dancefloor lunacy provided by the Digital Soundboy don and Original Nuttah himself, Shy FX going back to back with some very special guests, who we can guarantee will send you into orbit, with microphone control courtesy of MC Stamina. 

There will also be sublime moves on the ones and twos from chart-conquering musical polymath Mark Ronson, multi-platinum recording artist Craig David presenting his much admired TS5, the Leonine be-locked Lion Babe and Chloe Martini taking on Sinead Harnett. 

From old skool tear-ups to thoroughly modern floor-spankers, Shy FX’s Party on the Moon is a sure-fire celestial end to our Summer of Love that’s not to be missed.

This is the first EVER of the FREE SPIRIT FESTIVALs!!!!and it looks like it's gonna be a belter!!!!!!

Held in aid of the HOMELESS, in support of and raising funds for CRISIS & TRUSSELL TRUST!

It's described as small 500 capacity, Family Friendly, Micro Festival, but the buzz it's causing thru

word-of-mouth predicts it should be a great event and one not to be missed, BUT remember folks

As it's name suggests, it is in whole a SPIRITUAL event! It boasts 3 music stages/tents:-

With Bloodstock 2015 gone by this weekend, we already have some major announcements for 2016!
