Circa Waves to headline LeeFest

LeeFest Presents: The Neverland continues to take flight, with the magical land welcoming Circa Waves as Friday Night Headliners to its kingdom of kaleidoscopic dreams.
 
Emerging as indie-guitar music’s brightest lights, Circa Waves have rapidly become one of the most acclaimed young bands in the country with their infectious sunshine-drenched indie-pop. Liverpool’s favourite sons have enjoyed a huge 12 months which included the release of debut LP “Young Chasers” and a celebratory UK tour.  Circa Waves will be making their UK Festival Headlining Debut at LeeFest Presents: The Neverland, as another exciting chapter in the band and festivals ascendancy unfolds.
 
Speaking about their landmark performance, Circa Waves frontman Kieran Shudall says:
"So excited to headline our first festival! It's going to be big. It's going to be awesome. The Neverland won't know what's hit it."
 
They’ll be joined on the bill by art-rock pioneers Everything Everything whose critically acclaimed recent LP “Get To Heaven” drew plaudits from across the musical spectrum for its daring electronic edges and the distinctive vocal range of frontman Jonathan Higgins. With three revered albums in their back pocket, their set at LeeFest Presents: The Neverland will showcase one of the most creative names in modern British rock. 
 
Hotly tipped, garage rockers VANT and cult drum and bass hero DJ Marky + MC GQ bring their unique styles to The Neverland, with the latter taking to theElectric Circus & Innersoul curated evening at Skull Ridge with A.Skills and more. Skull Ridge will also welcome acclaimed club night Percolatepresenting an incredible evening in the Ridge with chameleonic DJ Midland and Horse Meat Disco amongst others. These all join an extensive lineup of new musical talent, continuing the revered LeeFest tradition of bringing through and championing the brightest names in music. Alongside Saturday night headliner Lianne La Havas, the weekend sees performances from Ghostpoet, Shura, Roots Manuva, The 2 Bears, Submotion Orchestra, Little Simz, Loyle Carner, Formation, Clean Cut Kid, Spring King and many more.

Nelly and Kano to headline Strawberries and Creem Festival

Cambridge’s new independent music festival, Strawberries & Creem, has just announced its headliners for 2016 – revealing legendary US rapper NELLY and UK grime sensation KANO as the acts topping the bill.

With four UK number 1 hits and 13 UK top tens, Nelly is one of American hip hop’s biggest crossover successes – and will headline the event in Cambridge on Saturday June 11th with an exclusive UK festival performance.

Fresh from releasing his hotly anticipated new album ‘Made In The Manor’, Kano is one of the most respected grime MCs of all time – and will join this year’s Strawberries and Creem line-up as a second headliner.

The eclectic mix of music acts on offer also includes veteran reggae selector David Rodigan MBE, comedy UK garage crew Kurupt FM (of BBC3 fame), pioneering grime MC D Double E, the recognisable grime personality Big Narstie and electronic producer duo Snakehips who recently achieved global recognition with ‘All My Friends’ (108m hit on Spotify).

Pete Tong and Wstrn join T in the Park 2016 lineup

BBC Radio 1 tastemaker and long standing presenter Pete Tong and Radio 1 Xtra breakthrough act WSTRN will join already announced Annie Mac, Danny Howard, Alesso, Oliver Heldensand Hannah Wants to complete the Radio 1 Summer of Dance line-up on the Friday of this year’s T in the Park. There are few individuals in the world of dance music who can claim the kind of influence Pete Tong has had over the last twenty years. As the voice of BBC Radio 1’s prestigious dance programming, Pete has held a commanding presence over the industry for more than two decades. His unique position has earned him a reputation as the global ambassador of dance music. With an unparalleled ear for new talent, Tong has become the leading tastemaker of the electronic generation. While he’s known publicly as Pete Tong the DJ, behind the scenes, he’s an industry icon and will be sure to keep the party going at this year’s T in the Park.
 
London based collective WSTRN signed to Atlantic Records last year. All three members had been artists in their own right before WSTRN was born and their debut track In2 propelled the trio from bold newcomers to the status of one of the biggest breaking groups around. Both the biggest selling and the highest charting debut single from a group in 2015, In2 crashed into the charts at #4 during a four-week Top 10 run after previously hitting the top of the UK Shazam and Urban charts. They reached the final five on the BBC Music Sound of 2016 poll, and their heady stats – 19 million views on YouTube and 35 million plays on Spotify – continue to grow at an exponential rate. July will see them bring their special blend of rap, pop, hip-hop & R & B to T in the Park.
 
The first details of the Thursday campsite entertainment programme have also been revealed today. Thursday campers will be treated to live comedy and spectacular burlesque courtesy of theStand Comedy Club and Club Noir. The Slam Tent will once again open for Thursday campers guaranteeing another legendary start to the T in the Park party, and for the first time ever, theKing Tut’s Wah Wah Tent will open on the Thursday night to host the Hot Dub Time Machine.
 
The World’s First Time Travelling Dance Party, Hot Dub Time Machine has been taking festivals, theatres, rooftops and venues all over the world on a transcendent dance through pop music history since its debut in 2011 in Sydney Australia. Songs are played in chronological order from 1954 to 2015, with enormous mashed visuals all scratched live from vinyl turntables. Created and performed by DJ Tom Loud, Hot Dub is all about singing, dancing and having the best, party, ever!

Standon Calling announce food lineup for 2016

Standon Calling presents a mouthwatering food line up for 2016 curated by street food aficionado Nigel Birch. From rotisserie perfection and middle-eastern delights to Mexican and sensational coffee, this year is set to be the festival's tastiest, featuring revered traders including Le Bun and Cheeky Italian.
 
Already offering a spectacular music line up and family programme, Standon Calling turns its attention to food traders for this year's festival. Offering only the best in street and festival food as well as a new pop up restaurant Ceru Souk and London beers from Meantime. Here's a sneak peak of what to expect.
 
Le Bun 

Le Bun brings French and American cuisines together creating an explosion of flavour for Standon festival-goers' tastebuds this year. Picked up by Sunday Times' Gizzi Erskine and Jamie Oliver's production team, the food vendors have regular stints at Street Feast, National Burger Day amongst other venues.  

Spit and Roast 

Spit and Roast will bring the highest quality meat, marinated in buttermilk and fried with care and expertise. Armed with a decade worth of restaurant experience, creator Ross Gardner took the concept of simple roasted meat and sides to the streets and now sets his sights on Standon Calling.

Ceru Souk

Specialising in contemporary middle eastern delights, Ceru Souk will be creating Standon Calling's first ever pop-up restaurant as well as their own Ceru truck. Festival-goers will be able to try a vibrant and healthy, yet indulgent menu, perfect for enjoying between friends and family. 

Cheeky Italian 

          

Since 2013 Cheeky Italian has pushed to change common perceptions of Italian food. Steering away from stereotypes such as pizza and pasta they showcase twists on classic comfort foods like deep fried lasagne rolls. Their aim is simple, fun, exciting and most importantly tasty.

 Made of Dough 

            

All the way from Brixton, London Pizza festival champions Made of Dough bring proper neapolitan pizza with a nod to southern Spain to Standon. Revellers should expect wood, smoke, noise, jokes and SERIOUS Pizza. Plus, they will be offering their famous make-your-own pizza workshops.

Club Mexicana 

          

With Club Mexicana's number one goal being Mexican vegan dishes packed with flavour they certainly do not disappoint. Their menu includes vegan interpretations of meat dishes such as BBQ Pulled jackfruit and Beer-marinated seitan.

Mac Factory 

           
 

Camden Lock's favourite Mac n Cheese serve up gourmet dishes made with only the freshest ingredients, using their signature Sourdough based "Parmesan and thyme crumble" to perfectly top off the Mac. "Nothing compares to the buzz I get from serving our Gourmet Mac n cheese to large numbers of beautiful people in a rocking festival" – Graham of The Mac Factory. 

Further culinary highlights come courtesy of  Barnaby Sykes  pies, Standon Calling's favourite Toasties and Japanese delights will also be on offer from the Yu Kyu. Other traders include Ceru truck-wraps, Original Fry Up Material, Goodness Gracious Me healthy vegan and Hippy Chippy. Borough Market legends Waffle On are on hand for a sweet treat and Carnival Coffee are back for the 9th year to deliver a caffeine kick.  

Meantime return to Standon Calling for the fourth year. One of the UK's largest and most technologically advanced breweries, Meantime have been putting a unique and modern twist on London beer styles for the past 15 years. Revellers can expect brewery fresh lager served straight from the tank alongside some of the finest lagers and ales. For the first time Meantime will give festival-goers a virtual reality tour of its brewery with a special truck kitted out with Oculus Rift.

Peter Doherty, Ghostpoet and Blossoms to headline Calling Stage at Kendall Calling

With last year’s Kendal Calling selling out in record time the festival is proud to announce even more names for 2016. Joining huge Main Stage headlinersNoel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Rudimental, Madness and The Charlatans are Calling Out Stage headliners Peter Doherty, Ghostpoet and Blossoms alongside an incredible supporting lineup.

Joining the already announced stage headliner Blossoms and needing no introduction, Libertines and Babyshambles main man Peter Doherty will be making his Kendal Calling debut in 2016 for a very special solo headlining set on the Calling Out stage. With his currently untitled, forthcoming sophomore solo album on the horizon, he’ll be treating fans and festival goers to what is surely set to be one of the most memorable Kendal moments in the festival’s history.

Multiple-Mercury nominated vocalist and musician Ghostpoet completes the trio of Calling Out headliners. Since releasing his debut album ‘Peanut Butter Blues & Melancholy Jam’ back in 2011, Obaro Ejimiwe has established himself as one of the UK’s most vital artists, not least heard on last years ‘Shedding Skin’ LP. His headline slot is not to be missed.

With the supporting lineup on the Calling Out Stage already featuring Eagulls, Spring King, Rat Boy, Sundara Karma and more the lineup is now completed by the additions of Pale Waves, Slow Readers Club, Model Aeroplanes, Actor, Fizzy Blood, Hidden Charms, JJ Rosa and The Bulletproof Bomb.

Joining an already stacked lineup on the Main Stage are The Sherlocks, The Jacques, Pins and Declan McKenna plus local favourites The Lancashire Hotpots and a special reading from poet JB Barrington.

The Woodlands Stage lineup is bolstered by the addition of Molly Warburton, Young Jack, Foreign Fox and Casanova.

Set in the stunning surrounds of the Lake District’s Lowther Deer Park, this innovative, independent festival is renowned for more than just music and festival lovers will also enjoy 4 days of arts installations, comedy, gourmet food, kid’s entertainment and a real ale festival all within the confines of what is widely regarded to be the most beautiful festival site in the UK.

Less than four months to go and BLOODSTOCK HQ is a hive of activity!  With the ‘Metal 2 The Masses’ heats well under way and finals scheduled to kick off in May, the booking team are racking up more and more bands for the UK’s best metal weekender this August!

Also joining Friday’s Sophie bill are female-fronted Dutch metallers THE CHARM THE FURY. Cream Ibiza lineup announce for 2016

The award winning Cream is preparing for another momentous summer season as it returns to Amnesia to take over Thursday nights on the white isle for fifteen parties starting 9th June through to 15th September, featuring an array of world class talent, debut performances and legendary residents.

As the longest running UK club brand on the island which celebrates its 21 year residency at Amnesia this year, the global dance heavyweights rarely disappoint and this year is no different as they deliver an A-list roster for the summer.   Terrace highlights this year include Fatboy Slim who returns to host his first every residency on the white isle, bringing with him his own patented brand of ‘party acid house’ and general good vibes.   2016 also welcomes an array of Cream Ibiza debuts from some of the most dynamic forces in music today, namely Grammy nominated Diplo, as one half of Major Lazer and Jack Ü there are few artists as versatile or successful at bridging the mainstream and underground.   Next up is one of the leading figures in the global EDM scene Dim Mak label boss Steve Aoki , plus a dance duo who have rocketed from an unknown entity to one of the most renowned dance acts in the world…Knife Party!  Other acts completing the Terrace line up include Duke, Amine Edge & Dance, DJ Fresh, Mark Knight, Danny Howard, Philip George, Camelphat,W&W, Boys Noize, Jauz, Sander van Doorn, Deorro with still more names to be announced.

Afrojack, Die Antwoord and more added to Sziget

Sziget Festival is a non-stop music and arts festival with hundreds of program offered every day for its 7 days. This time some new names have been added to the line-up such as Afrojack, Die Antwoord, Skunk Anansie, Troyboi and many more. Sziget is held on a lovely green island in the middle of Budapest between 10-17 August. Advance round 1 tickets are available until 5th May.

Sziget aims to represent as many genres and art forms as possible. This is the place where contemporary circus and EDM are neighbors and where the to-do list of visitors is just endless. New names
Grammy Award winning Dutch DJ and producer Afrojack, will definitely make a great party at Sziget, as well as the South African rap-rave group of Die Antwoord. The Canadian-born, LA based duo of DVBBS will definitely bring their high-energy presence behind (and on top of) the deck at Sziget. Szitizens can celebrate the anniversary of the birth of Punk; 40th anniversary with Marky Ramone's Blitzkrieg, while Skunk Anansie will return to Sziget with a great live show. Troyboi, one of South East London's most closely guarded secrets has recently emerged from the shadows and is set to take the music industry by storm, now coming to the Island of Freedom. Moreover ZEDD, Russian-German Grammy Award winning musician and DJ is also coming as well as Carnage.

In 2015 a total of 441,000 Szitizens attended the event, representing more than 95 countries and this probably makes Sziget one of the most multicultural festivals in the world. Hundreds of acts and programs will be announced in the forthcoming months, now starting with eight names, representing different genres and keeping the music line-up as colorful as always.

Pharrell and more will join Stevie Wonder at British Summer Time Hyde Park

Following the announcement that Stevie Wonder will take to the stage in Hyde Park to perform his masterpiece Songs In the Key of Life in its entirety, Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park are excited to announce three spectacular new additions to the Sunday line-up.
 
But fans should act quickly as this amazing show is nearly sold out and the last few tickets are going fast.
 
Considered to be one of the world’s most prolific producers and performers, Pharrell Williams is the first new addition to the Sunday billing. The force behind so many incredible smash hits, including Kelis’ “Milkshake”, N.E.R.D.s “Lap Dance” and of course 2014’s Grammy-Award winning and feel-good track of the year “Happy”. Pharrell has worked with music legends from Britney to Justin Timberlake, Daft Punk to Snoop Dogg, and will be sure to drop it like it’s hot this summer.
 
Of Stevie Wonder, Pharrell has said – "Stevie Wonder was a fixture in my life as a child. His music is probably the closest thing to auditory transcendence."
 
 
Joining Stevie and Pharrell on the main stage is soul-singer extraordinaire Corinne Bailey Rae. The BRIT-nominated and two-time Grammy-Award winning artist rose to prominence with her breezily beautiful singles “Put Your Records On” and “Like A Star”, and has since released two albums, her multi-million-selling eponymous debut and the Mercury Prize-nominated The Sea. With her brand new studio album The Heart Speaks In Whispers out for release on May 13th, Corinne’s uplifting and charismatic performance – described last week as “mesmerizing” by the Evening Standard – will be the perfect soundtrack to a Sunday evening in Hyde Park. 
 
Corinne Bailey Rae says, “I have been a fan of Stevie Wonder my whole life and saw the 'Songs In The Key of Life’ show at Madison Square Gardens. I cried, I danced and I had massive smile on my face throughout the show. It’s a dream come true to be asked to join Stevie Wonder when he brings this amazing show to Hyde Park, and also to be on the stage with Pharrell, who is a huge inspiration to me, and KING, who are my friends and musical collaborators.”
 
Also taking to the stage with their “nu-soul” sound is Los Angeles-based KING. The trio is composed of sisters Paris and Amber Strother and Anita Bias, whose whooshing synths, spiraling harmonies and detailed songwriting create a truly unique and jazzy sound – one that has been compared to the likes of Solange Knowles and Estelle. 
 
Pharrell Williams, Corinne Bailey Rae and KING will all join Stevie Wonder to form an incredible line-up for the day of soul and R&B. The hot new additions to the line-up follow the announcement that Stevie Wonder will perform his masterpiece Songs In The Key of Life in its entirety, for a truly epic, must-see show from one of the most prolific artists of all time.  
 
Hugely acclaimed in the US, Songs In The Key of Life Tour has run for 18 months, having been extended many times due to phenomenal public demand.  Coming to the UK for the very first time, there is extra reason for celebration because 2016 is the album’s 40th Anniversary year. 

First acts announced for this years Moondance Festival

Found presents Moondance Festival unite with some of the UK's most prestigious, independent promoters to celebrate the pioneers of dance music, showcasing the best in old skool, drum & bass, garage, house, jungle and grime. Taking place at a new location, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in east London on Sunday 18th September 2016, Moondance Festival will be one of the first electronic music events hosted on the iconic site.
 
Following four sold out festivals at Finsbury Park, the promoters who have been behind these festivals feel it's time to take you on a new adventure to an exciting, previously unused London site…
 
Created for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park will now provide a unique location to host Moondance Festival. Covering 560 acres, the stunning Park includes 6.5km of waterways,15 acres of woodland and eight permanent venues, all situated within a 10 minute walk from Stratford International station.
 
Celebrating 21 years in the industry, the main stage will be hosted by Moondance, who have assembled a lineup that spans some of dance music's most influential figures. Highlights include a headline set from US house and garage producer Todd Terry, leading house and techno artist and dance music pioneer Joey Beltram. A Guy Called Gerald will play an exclusive 'Evolution of dance music' Live set from acid house to jungle, with further performances from infamous figures of club culture including live sets from Altern8, Angie Brown, DJ Phanatasy with SAS, Channel One, General Levy and Ratpack vs SL2.
 
As the biggest garage brand on the planet, Garage Nation are also to host an arena. Drawing on 18 years of experience, they have assembled a lineup that includes seminal garage act Artful Dodger and DJ Luck & MC Neat playing a special collaborative performance.  Oxide & Neutrino, Mike Delinquent and DJ Cartier are also set to appear, as well 90s garage pioneers Sticky and Scott Garcia playing as Foundation.
 
Award winning drum & bass promoters Breakin Science will be ramping things up in their arena with a headline set from Virus Recordings' Ed Rush & Optical. Showcasing Ram Records will be Hamilton & Frankee plus from the Playaz camp Sub Zero, as well as performances from Mampi Swift, Shadow Demon Coalition, New Breed Crew and the return of U.N.C.Z.
 
Elsewhere in the  Park, old skool vanguards Epidemik have recruited some of rave culture's most legendary figures with a headline set from Fabio & Grooverider with MC MC, Slipmatt, ,Billy Daniel Bunter, plus an electrifying Shut Up & Dance showcase featuring Ragga Twins & Peter Bouncer, DJ Sy and Uncle Dugs vs Nicky Blackmarket.
 
Jungle Mania and Roast join forces to host an arena that will satisfy even the most hardened of jungleists. Congo Natty alongside Tenor Fly & Congo Dubz will take top billing with further highlights including Dillinja & Randall, Micky Finn, Kenny Ken, Bockie, Bryan G & Jumpin Jack Frost and a jungle classics set from Shimon.
 
Bringing classic house jams to the party, Promised Land have secured Chicago house legends Fast Eddie and Marshall Jefferson to headline their stage. Further sets will come from the likes of Alison Limerick, Nicky Holloway, Terry Farley, Brandon Block & Alex P, Huck Finn and more.
 
 
With plenty of surprises still to come, Moondance Festival's final two arenas are still to be revealed as well as further headline acts to be announced for the main stage and Garage Nation arena.
 
Promoting the same egalitarian and unifying ethos that underpinned early dance music culture, Moondance Festival will have no VIP arena, with festival-goers free to enjoy every stage throughout the day.
