Saturday

kelisThe Parklife Weekender throws open its gates this coming June to officially start the summer. Saturday 11th June at Platt Fields park welcomes pop chameleon Kelis to The Parklife Weekender main stage. Having successfully turned her hand to pop tinged with everything from hip hop to rock, Kelis’ latest offerings have been produced by dance king pin David Guetta and spurred the top five hit Acapella. With the ever expanding popularity of the dubstep scene Katy B has been well know for her collaborations with the likes of Magnetic Man, her appearance on The Parklife Weekender’s main stage is part of her rapidly rising profile as an artist within her own right. Laying on a set of glittering soulful electro will be Fenech Soler, preceded by up and coming Manchester locals Dutch Uncles. katy bThe very much in demand DJs and Moda promoters, Jaymo & Andy George and Warehouse Project resident DJ Krysko also perform. Saturday’s main stage headliner will be announced very soon.

The first of seven arenas, each hosted by Parklife’s many club land friends over the weekend will be ‘Chibuku presents’. Headlined by Berlin’s Electro DJ extraordinaire and label boss; Boys Noize, the arena also sees a live set from Fake Blood who returns to Manchester following a standout set at last year’s event. Experimental glitch outfit Modeselektor join forces with internationally renowned design collective Pfadfinderei for what promises to be a truly unique offering. Expect extra sass and attitude from electro duo Spank Rock and Amanda Blank. DJ Medhi and Riton’s Chicago House loving double act; Carte Blanche, DJs Doorly and James Rand complete the Chibuku offerings.

In an all-new 1,500 capacity arena, Simian Mobile Disco’s Delicatessen in association with Resident Advisor sets up shop in Platt Fields. The arena plays host to a headline set by Swedish techno frontrunner Adam Beyer and naturally the SMD boys take to the decks too, for what will no doubt be a typically pleasingly diverse set. Also on the Delicatessen counter will be acclaimed minimal techno DJ James Holden and old school tinged house/jazz hybrid producer Moodymann. Completing the SMD lead arena will be a live set of minimal techno, this time on a very new school trip courtesy of Irish duo; Psycatron and original Simian member Alex Mac’s Magnets.

Crosstown & Friends will enjoy an increased capacity arena for 2011’s festival. The electronic music empire brings three of its own artists to the table in Jamie Jones, Damian Lazarus and Art Department, representing some of the finest house and minimal techno around. Crosstown invite friends Seth Troxler, Robert James and Clive Henry to the decks for more of the best sub genres of house and techno be it deep, tribal or underground.

Now Wave also have the benefit of a roomier arena for 2011. Headlined by NYC’s masked rapper DOOM the arena sees a set by disco troupe Hercules & Love Affair. Following a number of appearances as a Warehouse Project resident DJ in 2010, Jamie xx is one of the most recognised remixing artists of the moment and joins The Parklife Weekender line up. More dupstep will be on offer from DJ and label boss Kode 9 alongside vocalist Spaceape and Matthew Dear who will present a glittering live set of electro with hints of his glitchy techno roots. Now Wave’s line up is completed by Space Dimension Controller and Chad Valley as well as a DJ set from the Now Wave boys themselves.

Offering the best in hip hop, old skool, breaks and drum ‘n’ bass, Ape x Metropolis join forces for what could be Saturday’s most banging arena. Having remixed The Prodigy, Dizzie Rascal and Pendulum, Sub Focus headline with a live set. Joining them will be dubstep duo Nero, fresh from their nomination for the BBC’s Sound of 2011 poll. Ape x Metropolis also welcomes one of the underground’s finest DJs, Caspa & Rod Azlan, Breakage live featuring Jess Mills and the dancehall addicted Toddla T with MC DRS. Last but by no mean least for The Parklife Weekener’s Saturday, Hospital records’ ‘Hospitality’ arena will be headlined by RAM Recording Studio co-founder Andy C alongside MC GQ. Hospital’s own High Contrast brings his liquid funk sound into the fold followed closely by label mates London Elektricity. DJ Fresh goes back to back with The Brookes Brothers and also taking to the decks will be Belgian DnB producer Netsky. The Hospitality arena also features their very own Danny Byrd whose track ‘Ill Behaviour’ was on heavy rotation on Radio 1 towards the end of 2010. Completing Hospitality are Alix Perez, Nu:Tone featuring Natalie Williams, duo Camo & Krooked and MCs Wrec and Tonn Piper.

Saturday will also feature Adandon Silence, Gold Teeth, Belly Of The Beast, Bigger Than Barry, Dawn Raid, Good Vibrations, Knee Deep, Missionary DJs, Murkage DJs, Revolver, Selectivehearing, Zutekh and many more.

Sunday

chase & statusThe Parklife Weekender’s main stage headliners on Sunday 12th June are Chase & Status; one of 2010’s most successful dance to mainstream cross over stories. Tracks from the drum ‘n’ bass duo’s album, featuring the likes of Plan B, are now staples of daytime radio. Their live set is sure to get Platt Fields park moving. Similarly enjoying cross over success, Skream and Benga, the latest additions to the BBC’s In New Music We Trust output, take to the main stage for a set of the finest dubstep. With a gig history that includes some of the most exclusive celebrity parties and fashion launches, as well as two critically acclaimed albums under his belt, Mark Ronson returns to Manchester following his Warehouse Project NYE set. Annie Mac, the maestro of all things mash-up has championed many of the Parklife Weekender’s line up through her radio show, tours and mix CDs. Her party starting set is not one to be missed. Also up on the main stage will be Labrinth, recently honoured with a BRIT award via his production work on Tinnie Tempah’s ‘Pass Out’, and hip hop loving DJ and singer Yasmin.

The Big Top arena on Sunday is crowned by a DJ set from mash-up kings David and Stephen Dewaele otherwise known as 2manydjs and the figureheads of Soulwax, a duo who have shaped the sound of electronic and cross-over music throughout the noughties. Also taking to the Big Top decks will be Erol Alkan, the force behind the much loved Trash club night Alkan’s career has exploded since the Trash days seeing his electro sets play out internationally alongside dance music’s biggest names. Next up straddling the decks, as well as a menagerie of other DJ trickery, James Zabiela will spin a set of breaks and tech house preceded by tech house DJ and rising fixture on the dance music scene; Riva Starr. Jack Beats, one part Beni G (Mixologists) and one part Plus One (Scratch Perverts), are a duo at the forefront of the wobble centric British House new wave. They complete Sunday’s Big Top along with italio duo Retro/Grade and DJ Greg Lord.

A key figure in the experimental hip hop sounds of the nineties, DJ Shadow’s live set headlines Sunday’s Thrasher arena in association with DataTransmission. Next up will be Warp Record’s young face of turntablism Hudson Mohawke and Bristolian grime merchant Joker. RinseFM’s Roska and grime/garage expert Emalkay also step up to the Thrasher stage. Bass heavy sounds come courtesy of L-vis1990 whilst ex-UK Garage MC Roska arrives at The Parklife Weekender with his afro-beat inspired record box. Also joining line up will be a collaboration between dubstep’s SBTRKT and Sampha as well as Ikonika & Optimum. Machester’s own ‘out there’ producer Illum:Sphere and Hoya:Hoya co-promoter Jonny Dub take to the decks to complete the Thrasher arena.

Also back for seconds on Sunday is the Now Wave arena presenting a headline set from indie’s cheeriest outfit, Mystery Jets. Angular electropop four piece Metronomy, indie art rock NYC residents Darwin Deez, and spacey organic club producers D/R/U/G/S make up more of the exciting offerings. Playing their synth lead indie on home turf will be Egyptian Hip Hop whilst Star Slinger blends fragile electronic sounds over vintage RnB samples. Imaginatively names boy/girl duo Keep Shelly in Athens, Warehouse Project resident DJ, Will Tramp completes the Now Wave arena to make up a hugely exciting bill of genre boundary blurring offerings.

neroReturning for second helping and teaming up with DJ E.A.S.E’s label (Nightmares on Wax), Metropolis x Ape arena offers up rising dubstep trio Nero, LA’s fidget house DJ Skrillex as well as Brazilian drum ‘n’ bass innovator DJ Marky. Similarly highly regarded in drum ‘n’ bass circles DJ Hype joins the bill as will hotly tipped DnB duo Loadstar will play alongside DnB figurehead Friction and take to the decks. The arena’s line up is rounded off by resident DJs Citizen and Mak.

They’ve hosted some of the most popular stages at Glastonbury and Lovebox so Horse Meat Disco are a welcome addition to The Parklife Weekender 2011. Tensnake, a DJ currently enjoying mainstream success with his take on 80s Italo disco boogie headlines the arena with a live set. Birmingham based Mark E brings his distinctive take on house to the table and Cutloose DJs leave The Roadhouse home armed with their well respected party throwing credentials. Naturally the HMD boys also take to the deck as will Warehouse Project resident DJ, Krysko.

Manchester’s weekly hip hop bash set up a temporary home in Platt Fields on Sunday in the Juicy & Friends arena. Circo Loco Stage lineup announced for Croatia’s Hideout Festival

Taking place at Zrce Beach on Pag off the coast of Croatia from 1st to 3rd July 2011 and boasting one of the best line-ups out there, Hideout Festival is about to establish itself as the coolest dance party of the summer, giving Ibiza a run for its money.

tania vulcanoThe indisputable First Lady of Circo Loco and Queen of DC10 Ibiza, Tania Vulcano was there when it all began on those Monday mornings back in 1999 and continues to be a beacon for quality underground music. Tania is a global representative for the brand and continent-hops every weekend to meet the persistent demand for her music. Unsurprisingly, in many ways it is Tania’s sound itself that acts as a showcase for what Circo Loco is all about.

An old school Circo Loco DJ from the early days, Andrew Grant is a former American marine that has maintained his relationship with the club and brand ever since being invited to play by Cirillo, his mentor, in 2001. This represented the start of a now 10 year association with the party, during which time Andrew assured his place as a front line combatant of the Circo Loco sound and party attitude.

One of the longest serving residents at DC10, Dan Ghenacia is still the major influence of underground electronica in France, thanks principally to his leadership of the celebrated, but now defunct, Freak n Chic label and booking operation. His acute understanding of how DC10 works, makes him a key asset to the Circo Loco parties and his swathing tech-house and abyss-deep grooves are effortless winners both on the Terrace and Inside.

Catherine Britton aka Cassy is widely regarded as the Queen of underground house and techno, if not that then certainly she’s in line for the throne. With Caribbean roots, she grew up in England and then mainly Austria, where she developed a deep love for the arts and worked professionally as a vocalist and in theatre. Making her debut at DC10 in Ibiza in 2010, Cassy enthralled the Circo Loco masses as she weaved her customary mixed bag of sounds ranging from deep house to hard techno through classic acid house, strengthening her status of one of the Circo Loco New Era.

One of the few residents for Circo Loco at DC10 who can say they play practically every single week, Garagem is as her name suggests – one of the deepest groovers that spins at the club. A deeply passionate spirit for pushing solid, underground house and garage, in its truest forms, Garagem has been resident at DC10 since 2008.Her mixed Brazilian and Romanian roots make her truly representative of the international movement that is Circo Loco.

gauthier dmGauthier DM French DJ who became part of the Circo Loco and DC10 fold in 2010, impressing in his appearances, which included the Closing Party After and the 2011 New Year’s Day celebrations. Brother of fellow Circo Loco resident, DJ W!LD, Gauthier is seen as one of the next generation DJ/producers to come out of France and is strongly associated with the prominent Robsoul Recordings, run by Chris Carrier since 2000 and recognised as one of the most respected underground house music labels around.

Sonisphere day ticket ballot scheme details + lineup

SONISPHERE FESTIVAL organisers have issued the following statement regarding day tickets for the 2011 event:

In response to an overwhelming number of requests, we have been able to secure permission to put a strictly limited number of day tickets on sale via THE POWER BALLOT scheme. Due to the huge demand for day tickets anticipated, and the limited number that can be made available, we have decided to use a ballot system as we believe it is the fairest way to ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity to obtain tickets.

Fans should sign up at www.sonispherefestivals.com/uk before 23rd May, when the ballot closes. You may apply for as many days as you like in order to increase your chances, although full weekend tickets work out much cheaper than three separate day tickets, and is the best way to enjoy all that SONISPHERE has to offer and get the full festival experience.

Successful applicants will be informed which day(s) they can purchase tickets for via email on May 25th. Each customer may purchase up to four tickets for their allocated day. Tickets will be £80/day plus booking fee.

8 weeks till T in the Park, Professor Green, Chipmunk and more added

professor greenA Brit boy bringing his unique blend of urban into the mainstream music scene is Hackney born rapper Professor Green. His debut album ‘Alive Til I’m Dead’ reached No.2 and was certified gold. Originally signed by Mike Skinner, Professor Green can count Lily Allen amongst his biggest fans and the pair secured a No.5 hit with their collaboration on ‘Just Be Good to Green.’  Times are indeed good for Professor Green, with new album ‘At Your Inconvenience’ ready for release in August.  T in the Parkers will get the ultimate sneak preview when Professor Green plays T in the Park.

Professor Green said: “T in the Park was one of the few festivals that I didn’t get to play last year. I love Scotland so I was delighted to get an invite to perform. Scottish crowds go mad and they are really receptive. I look forward to bringing my band, all the hits and having a Tennent’s!”

chipmunkAt only 20 years old, Chipmunk had successfully released five top-ten hits including No.1 single ‘Oopsy Daisy.’ He proved he is indeed a ‘Champion’ of the British music scene when he released a track with Chris Brown called exactly that, the first track from his new album ‘Transition’ which will be released in April, packed with hit after hit that will be played at T in the Park.

OFWGKTA (Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All) led by the controversial, anti-establishment visionary that is Tyler the Creator is probably the most talked-about new music collective in the world right now.  Hailing from the sunny shores of Los Angeles, OFWGKTA caused quite the stir earlier this year due to the lyrics and the video of single ‘Yonkers’ and they were the talk of the town at SXSW.  Tyler’s second full length album ‘Goblin’ is due for release in May (10) and it’s set to both shock and delight fans and critics alike, in a way that only Tyler the Creator seems to know how.  OFWGKTA will undoubtedly put on a T in the Park show to remember.

labrinthAlso hailing from London is singer/songwriter and producer Labrinth.  He’s already achieved No.1 and No.2 smash hit singles ‘Pass Out’ and ‘Frisky’ in collaboration with fellow rapper and confirmed T in the Park artist Tinie Tempah, as well as his own No.3 debut single ‘Let the Sun Shine.’  Let the sun shine indeed as Labrinth wows the crowd at T in the Park.

Nominee for BBC’s Sound of 2011 and MTV’s Brand New for 2011 poll’s, London lad WRETCH 32 is most definitely one to watch this summer.   With two Top 5 singles already under his belt (‘Traktor’ and ‘Unorthodox’), there’s plenty more hits to come from this finely tuned rapper’s second album ‘Black & White,’ which is due for release in August and will be previewed at T in the Park this summer.

DF Concerts and founding partner Tennent’s Lager are thrilled to announce the addition of Professor Green, Chipmunk, OFWGKTA, Labrinth, and WRETCH 32 to the A-List line up which already includes Arctic Monkeys,ColdplayFoo FightersThe Strokes, Beyoncé, Pulp, The Script, Plan B, Slash, Tinie Tempah, Tom Jones, Jessie J and much more.

A limited number of T in the Park Residence packages are still available to buy. The Residence offers festival goers a bespoke, luxury experience where all their accommodation needs are taken care of. Guests are welcomed into an oasis of indulgence to enjoy a unique festival experience in their luxury accommodation of choice. Once they have settled into their home for the weekend, festival goers can relax in the Residence Lounge Café & Bar or treat themselves to a pampering session in the spa before heading to see their favourite bands as well as accessing the festival’s hospitality area. For more information, log onto www.tinthepark.com/residence.

Be Chilled has proved to be one of the biggest hits at T in the Park and due to phenomenal demand, Tennent’s Lager is bringing back the hugely popular, quick and slick service to the heart of the T in the Park campsite for the fourth year running.  Campers can pre order Tennent’s Lager or Magners Original Cider now atwww.tennents.com/bechilled and Tennent’s will have orders chilled and ready for collection on the campsite throughout the weekend.

At the heart of T in the Park is the music and atmosphere that continually unites the crowd and creates a weekend of memorable moments that will last a lifetime. Brit Award and Grammy winners, the best breakthrough talent, multi-million selling artists, new music icons and legends…T in the Park 2011 has them all.  Bring it on Balado.

Get Loaded in the Park add The Riles, About Group and more!

the riflesComing straight from a huge sell out show at The Coronet last week, The Rifles bring a new look band to Get Loaded in the Park. With a third studio album soon to hit our airwaves, Chingford’s finest look set for an absolutely massive summer with the first chapter written on 11th June.

In the Gigwise Arena, Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor bring his other band About Group to Clapham Common for an exclusive and rare appearance. As a Mercury prize-nominated pop star, Alexis has been responsible for bringing geekery to the dancefloor and will be showcasing tracks from About Group’s second album.

New Zealand born, London resident Connan Mockasin brings his delightful, slanted and enchanted world to Get Loaded in the Park. He has recently been creating a stir on the blogs with his track ‘Dolphin’ and will be bringing his unique blend of psychedelic pop to the party.

As the new act from former Les Incompétents / Lion.Ox.Eagle.Man member Frederick Macpherson, Spector categorically tick the box labelled ‘raw energy.’ A vigorous and ludicrously good-looking five piece, they fuse rawkus energy and effortless panache.

Last but by no means least, Six Nation State are a UK based four-piece who in the past three years have supported bands such as Babyshambles. With their debut album set for release this year we’re delighted to have them on board. “For two years we lived on Clapham common so coming to play Get Loaded is a little special for us. It’s going to be a great start to the summer festivals!” Gerry del Guercio (Six Nation State)

OTHER GET LOADED IN THE PARK HIGHLIGHTS…
Having stole the show at the recent Camden Crawl, Get Loaded headliners Razorlight return to the Capital for another spectacular performance. Their set at the Crawl featured new tracks alongside the classics we all know and love and resulted in Johnny Borrell telling NMEhow he felt Razorlight’s return “feels like a new band.”

The Cribs arrive at Get Loaded having destroyed Rockness the previous night with further main stage performances from Noisettes, British Sea Power, Patrick Wolf and Los Campesinos! In the Gigwise arena Darwin Deez plays his only London show of 2011 alongside Yelle, O.Children, Babeshadow and Alpines. Finally The Flower Post host the Last.FM arena with the brilliant Johnny Flynn playing with Slow Club, Sound Of Rum, The Agitator, Beans On Toast, Dark Moon and The Joker And The Thief.

An indie and live bands showcase as strong as you will see in London this year, we hope you can join us on June 11th as Get Loaded in the Park returns in triumphant style.

Rastamouse for Lollibop Festival 2011

LolliBop are chuffed to bits to announce that Rastamouse and his crime fighting companions Scratchy and Zoomer  will be “Makin’ a bad ting good” on their way to the LolliBop main stage this year! We can’t wait!

Mel Wilds LolliBop Director says “We at LolliBop towers are squeaking with excitement that Rastamouse, Scratchy and Zoomer will be coming to this years festival – come down and join us for three days of fun!”

Rastamouse added: “Da Easy Crew vibes gonna be rockin’ LolliBop dis year.  Irie Man!

‘Give it up for Da Easy Crew’!

Sharing a bit of love and respect and skating their way onto the LolliBop stage Rastamouse, Scratchy and Zoomer will keep the little ones bopping with some ‘Hot Hot Hot’ tracks from their debut album and some cool, cool performances of songs from the show including ‘Ice Popp’.

Reggae singing superhero Rastamouse became a phenomenon earlier this year after his TV series premiered on CBeebies.

When things go wrong in Mouseland, President Wensley Dale always calls on Da Easy Crew. That’s when Rastamouse, Scratchy and Zoomer hang up their guitars and cut loose from Nuff Song Studio to find out “whaa gwaan”. More often than not there’s a mystery needs solving or a criminal to be captured. By working together Da Easy Crew always fix the problem. And if a criminal has been apprehended Rastamouse makes sure redemption not retribution is the order of the day. Whatever’s gone wrong; through love and respect Rastamouse will always make a bad thing good!

After a sell – out success in London’s Clissold Park last summer, the magical LolliBop festival is proud to have found a majestic new home in Regent’s Park!

With his laid back vibe and reggae – jammin’ sound Rastamouse joins The Zany ZingZillas who will be monkey’ing around on the main stage joined by Charlie and Lola’s Best Bestest play; get scared by Horrible Histories or see your favourite CBeebies presenters Cerrie Burnell, Alex Winters and Sid Stone introducing our fabulous acts. Fly into space with The Science Museum Live, dance the night away with Dick & Dom and Baby Loves Disco at the Ibiza style disco Minimission, or Rhumba around Itsy Bitsy Strictly style.

And there’s much much more! Facepainting, arts and crafts, comedy, Babyoke, hairdressing, go karting, pizza making workshops, Football factory, an Enchanted Forest with wizard & fairy schools, DJ Workshops and even a gorilla enclosure…watch out for your bananas! Phew!

LolliBop is THE family event of the summer with all the thrills of a festival vibe but without the hassle of camping or long car journeys! Plus once you have paid your ticket price all entertainment is free! Our fantastic three day festival extravaganza is a feast of interactive fun, where everything is aimed at keeping our pint sized festival goers happy.

We just can’t wait for you to have a taste of LolliBop!
