Queens of the Stone Age & Paramore to headline Reading and Leeds Festival

This year sees amazing Main Stage co-headliner shows from rock heroes Queens Of The Stone Age and pop-rock trailblazers Paramorewho share the prestigious stage on Friday at Reading and Saturday at Leeds in their only UK performances of 2014. They join headliners pop-punk legends Blink-182, who perform their only UK shows of 2014 on the Sunday at Reading and Friday at Leeds, and the inimitable multi BRIT and NME Award winning Arctic Monkeys who will grace the stage in an England and Wales festival exclusive set on Saturday at Reading and Sunday at Leeds.
 
With festival veterans You Me At Six returning to Reading & Leeds and Jake Bugg making a well-deserved step up to the Main Stage, the line-up is certainly taking shape! The Grammy Award winning, Vampire Weekend and multi Grammy Award-winning hip-hop duo and one of the biggest breakthrough acts of 2013, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis hit the Main Stage for what promises to be an incredible set alongside fellow Americans Imagine Dragons and Foster The People, and the UK’s Deaf Havana.
 
Over on the NME/Radio 1 Stage alongside previously announced headliners Disclosure and Courteeners are the incredible Bombay Bicycle Club,who return to the Festivals with their exceptional new Number One album ‘So Long, See You Tomorrow’, as well as catchy electronic pop groupChvrches, UK single chart toppers Clean Bandit and mysterious London hype duo Jungle.
 
This year’s BBC Radio 1 Dance Stage is shaping up to be as exciting as ever with already confirmed headliners Netsky Live joined by Australian superstar Flume and a special DJ set from drum ‘n’ bass heavyweights Pendulum.

Vampire Weekend, White Denim and more added to Bilbao BBK lineup

Bilbao BBK Live festival is proud to announce that Vampire Weekend, White Denim, Jamie N Commons and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros have been added to the line-up of the eighth edition of the event; scheduled to take place from the 11th to 13th July in the northern Spanish city of Bilbao.

Vampire Weekend

Promising to perform material from their new album "Modern Vampires of the City", due to be released next month, Vampire Weekend joins the line-up together with Texan experimental outfit White Denim, currently working with Jeff Tweedy in their next album; British blues singer song-writer Jamie N Commons and cultish 11-piece indie rockers Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. A total of four new names added to a line-up headlined by Depeche ModeKings of Leon and Green Day.

After last summer's record-breaking attendance, with performances by Radiohead and The Cure and the opening of the third stage, Bilbao BBK Live keeps growing and attracting the biggest names in music today. Previous editions of the event have included headliners such as Coldplay, Pearl Jam, Black Crowes, Jane’s Addiction, RHCP and Suede.

Lake of Stars Festival Update

Vampire Weekend DJ’s, BBC 1Xtra DJ and Presenter Gemma Cairney, BBC Radio 1 DJ Goldierocks will join FOALS and Freshlyground to headline this year’s Lake of Stars Festival.
 
Will Jameson, Lake of Stars festival director says: “It’s one of the only events offering 70 live acts from Africa and Europe playing everything from indie to kwaito to reggae and dubstep in a location that Wanderlust travel magazine hails as one of the Top Ten emerging travel destinations in the world.”
 
Known for it’s incredible DJ line up, the Lake of Stars Festival has featured Annie Mac, Andy Cato, Felix B, Ross Allen, Mary Ann Hobbs, Goldierocks, Eddy Temple Morris, MistaJam and DJ Yoda.
 
Bass player of New York band Vampire Weekend, Baio’s DJ sets have rocked clubs from across the globe from Ibiza to Paris to Sydney to Seoul. Before joining Vampire Weekend, he ran a radio station, threw sick basement shows and DJ’d parties at Columbia University in New York. This will be his DJ debut in Africa, brought to Malawi courtesy of the US Embassy in Lilongwe.
 
DJ and Presenter Gemma Cairney began her radio career at Channel 4 Radio and now hosts a regular slot on BBC 1Xtra as well being a roving reporter on the BBC’s coverage of Glastonbury Festival in 2011 and 2009.
 
Goldierocks. That’s Sam Hall; blonde-haired vixen and rock n roll talent-spotter de jour and British Council Selector Radio show host. Now most renowned for her energised ‘punk rock’ DJ appearances, invading parties and aftershows all over the world – at some point in time, Sam’s probably hijacked your fave indie/electro haunt. She’ll be coming to Malawi thanks to the British Council.
