Carl Cox brings his friends to Exit Festival

On Friday, July 11th, the Dance Arena of the EXIT festival will again have the highest class of honour to host the famous 'Carl Cox vs Friends' night. Not only was EXIT one of the first festivals to host this concept in 2005, but since then it has been presented at the biggest world festivals, and it's made up of carefully selected representatives of the new waves of electronic music, as well as the genre's greats that tickle Cox’s fancy!

Carl Cox is coming back to the Petrovaradin Fortress to defend his title as one of the best in class, mind-shattering DJs ever, and to shatter the ground under Dance Arena gladiator’s feet once again. Everyone's memory is entrenched with his legendary b2b gig (VIDEO: http://bit.ly/1iAf7Ig) with Green Velvet in 2009 when he performed wearing a t-shirt that wrote 'Dance Arena Saved My Life.', Cox is excited for this year’s edition and said this about his colossal gig: “Cannot wait to get back and do it all over again. It was truly amazing the last time around. :) x”

There aren't a lot of things this man hasn't done yet – there's the cult residency in Ibiza that’s been going on for 13 years now; two DJ sets at the beginning of the new millennium – in two different time zones; a gig in front of 1 500 000 people at the Love Parade in Berlin… all the while spreading his venerable message of love for music and life. This year he’s bringing his group of music friends to make the loudest, biggest party that’ll last until the soothing light of a summer’s day dawn.

CARL COX vs DANNY TENAGLIA
A music ambassador, acid house veteran, techno champion and father of the British rave scene, Carl Cox, together with the best NY DJ who has more than 200 production works, the legendary Danny Tenaglia, will battle out one of the most exclusive electronic music b2b sets at this year’s EXIT! These two giants with careers that lasted longer than tree decades will definitely give the best Dance Arena in the world a new dimension of unforgettable fun.

BEN KLOCK vs MARCEL DETTMANN
Two of the hottest guys in techno at the moment, Ben and Marcel, based in Berlin, the indispensable ingredient of the scene this city helped flush out, and two of the most important names in newer history of techno music, are coming for the first time to the Dance Arena to show why their six hour sets, sometimes even twelve hour marathons in the cult club Berghain are one of the most anticipated events in the calendar of every Berlin clubber.

EATS EVERYTHING vs CASSY
This dynamic duo are going to set alight the foundations of the fortress. Eats Everything is renowned for his forward thinking underground sets, while also boasting remixes for Jamie Jones, Four Tet, Adam F and having his records played by the likes of Seth Troxler, Skream to Redlight. He was awarded 'Best British DJ in 2011' and stands to true form with this accolade. Catherine Britton aka Cassy the Caribbean-born and British-raised resident of the famous club Panoramabar in Berlin, Cassy has worked so far in her career with huge names such as Luciano, Mathew Jonson, Ricardo Villalobosa and Steve Bug. This is of the most interesting pairings, and will be a sure delight!

PLANETARY ASSAULT SYSTEMS LIVE
Planetary Assault Systems is the most influential alias of the famous techno representative, Luke Slater who's been dominating the techno scene for more than twenty years now. Luke is a master of the dynamic futuristic techno, and his last two albums under this alias were published under the important Berlin label Ostgut Ton. He’s coming to EXIT with his exceptional and dynamic live gig and is going to blow minds away both sonically and visually. We can’t wait. This year's Exit Dance Arena is set to be one of the most remembered in dance music history. Stay tuned for the rest of the line up revealed over the next few weeks.

This great announcement coincides with last week’s news that there will be a carnival theme for this year’s festival, culminating in the biggest party Oxfordshire has ever seen.

Undoubtedly this has to be one of the best stage line ups the festival has seen. I’m sure there’ll be many surprises in store when you set foot into the Rio Barnival come Saturday morning in July!”

Egg London Industry Night

To celebrate Egg London’s newly refurbished club there was only one thing for it, a private knee’s up that was done in style.

Guests of the club were welcomed with champagne on arrival with access to a free bar for the full duration of the press party. With the drinks flowing well and the DJ mixing the tunes, it was a good atmosphere in the newly revamped loft space.

The last 12 months has seen the club expand their dance floor spaces and make grand improvements in sound across the venue. They now boast the installation of the world’s first flipside sound system. The loft space has definitely expanded its dance floor, with emphasis of the more space on the dance floor the more it could be filled up with people looking for a good time.

Just next to the floor was an easy accessible outside space for people to socialise or catch their breath and cool down. Seating around the perimeter of the loft space was positioned in a relaxed style with the lighting also making the venue easy on the eye.

As the loft space started to fill up, it was time for some food as boxes and boxes of freshly made pizza were brought around to all those that needed to line their stomach for the long night ahead. A nice touch and something that was very welcomed by all those attending.

The line-up for the night was one not to be missed. Once the free bar was used to its full potential and the pizza had settled, it was time to wonder downstairs. Yousef’s Circus party was just getting into full swing where also Laurent Garnier and Steve Lawler were both spinning extended sets on the two main floors respectively.

The party would go on throughout the night with the doors shutting at 8am, and the people in attendance knowing they left after having a massive night. A night well played by Egg London, a club that knows how to party in style and look after all those involved.

Example Live At KOKO London (Ultimate Weekender)

Examples Ultimate Weekender started off with a bang as the singer raved until there was no roof to touch with all the bouncing involved.

The intimate weekender, for fans close to Example, were treated but also tested to their limits as this type of show takes no prisoners. From the start, hits such as ‘Watch The Sun Come Up’ were majestically played with the roaring crowd obeying Examples plea to show him their ‘Piano Fingers’.

There was barely time for rest as ‘Playing in the Shadows’ was played mid-way through the set that formed a giant mosh pit in the centre of the standing area. The inevitable drum and bass / dubstep drop sent them into a euphoric frenzy.

The intensity was never given up, much to the pleasure of the raucous crowd who just wanted more and more. They were served perfectly with old hits such as ‘Won’t Go Quietly’ and ‘Kickstarts’ and some new songs from Examples 5th album ‘Live Life Living’ released June 23rd 2014.

A stand out song showcased from the new album was ‘Stay With Me’ which outlined positive vibes about the new album. Other songs such as ‘All The Wrong Places’ ‘Only Human’ ‘Take Me As I Am’ and the most latest release ‘Kids Again’ were also included in the energetic set.

The massive finish of ‘Changed The Way You Kiss Me’ that also includes DJ Chuckie’s  big Synth remix allows fans to jump so high that they touch the ceiling and are left screaming a sing along as Example leaves the stage.

The show didn’t stop there however as fans flocked to The Village Underground for the after party to see the second Example performance of the night with DJ Wire. A great venue for fans of a ravey background as it set a dark and moody but yet lively atmosphere for the acts that graced the stage until 2am. Example as bouncy as ever mixed his tunes with other favourable dance songs in a 50 minute set.

Example will continue this weekend in the same format with gigs in Manchester and Glasgow. The singer will be a big festival act for the summer 2014 festival season, and will promise to give a brilliant live show and be one not to miss.
