Endless clear blue seas, gently swaying palm trees, secluded cenotes and lush green jungle. Miles of soft sand beaches, a rich melting pot of Caribbean cultures, mouthwatering gastronomy and high spec production with a world class soundtrack. These are just some of the reasons the bespoke and boutique Meet! Festival is a game changing underground gathering that has put the eyes of the world on the Dominican Republic. Its 2019 debut was the first and largest ever event of its kind, and now the festival is back with a bigger and better lineup than ever featuring Funk E, Magda, Sante, Steve Bug, Themba, Blu.A, Laura Pilarte, Lucien Le Grub, Oscar Mula on top of the previously announced likes of Camea, Franky Rizardo, Mihai Popoviciu, Danny Serrano and more from April 14 – 17 2022. It kicks off with a special opening party at the super cool Clover Club, and this week for friendship day for seven days from February 14th and for 7 days, you can get a 15% discount on studio rooms. 

It all goes down in the picture perfect and dreamlike faraway paradise that is Punta Cana in the Caribbean, with a main stage, daytime beach parties, after parties and free access to the exhilarating Aquapark for thrill seeking adrenaline junkies all rolled into one incredible weekend. Next to a lineup of internationally established DJs, live performers and an array of local acts, Meet! Festival offers endless hours of extra fun, from aquatic activities, to stunning local cuisines and the most beautiful hidden spots to chill out and soak up the stunning coastal atmosphere.

The brainchild of influential underground label Yet! Records, Meet! Festival was the first and most important event to happen in the history of dance music in the Dominican Republic. It has already helped to consolidate the local scene as an ideal place for industry professionals to enjoy a musical weekend in paradise. It is designed as a meeting place for friends old and new (hence the name Meet!), somewhere to hang out and soak up the vibes, a space to further the scene and develop new ideas.

The music will come from a carefully curated mix of local stars and international heroes, all with the view of furthering the local scene as well as bringing international tourists to the region. It will play out across daytime beach and late night parties, with a hugely impressive and well-designed main stage for evening fun, and an unforgettable closing party to send everyone home with special musical memories. Headliners include the one and only Funk E, long time minimal techno queen Magda, house master Sante, Pokerflat boss Steve Bug, Afro house innovator Themba, plus Blu.A, Laura Pilarte, Lucien Le Grub, Oscar Mula and more. Of course, this is just a second wave after the likes of stripped back techno tastemaker and Clink boss Camea, Defected’s Dutch house star Franky Rizardo, Romanian minimalist Mihai Popovici and Spanish house don Danny Serrano have already been announced.

Streaming and NFT platform Myx aims to shake up music distribution with blockchain technology

Artists will be able to Create, Collaborate, Connect and Stream on Myx

Myx is a game-changing new platform that allows artists to take back control of music distribution. Built with blockchain technology that far outstrips any other Web3 music platform out there, it bridges the gap between both artists and fans as they create, collaborate and connect on a new and level playing field. Most importantly, Myx allows earnings to go back to artists.

Myx is currently available and in soft launch phase – allowing artists ownership of their own music, distribution ownership and revenues, create NFTs for tracks, or even break down vocals, instrumentals and beats as their own NFTs. Streaming on Myx is due for launch in the second quarter of 2022.

Decentralised streaming on Myx allows artists to earn up to three times as much as Spotify from streaming their music, with uncapped revenue potential. Artists can release unlimited tracks and collections as single (1/1) or multiple edition NFTs on Polygon and have them instantly and automatically be created and listed for sale on OpenSea, Web3’s most liquid marketplace, and customise secondary sales royalties so fees are earned whenever NFTs are traded in the future.

Artists can collaborate through a revolutionary Myx feature called Pods, which allows fans to invest and earn alongside their favourite artists. It is a tool that allows for multiple owners of music to collaborate and earn together on the economics and governance of that music. For example all tracks in a Pod when streamed on Myx earns revenue, all owners of that Pods token (“media fractions”) receive the revenue proportional to their Pod ownership. The same goes with NFT sales.

Harrison $First, one of over 150 artists already using the platform and its unique Pod feature, and says, “The most fascinating thing about Myx at this stage, seems to be their pod feature. I think this will give artists the opportunity to turn their music into a high commodity asset.”

On top of this, Music NFTs on Myx include proof of authority and digital signature, and files are encrypted using the utmost security and stored with IPFS, a Web3 file storage system that helps fight piracy.

Myx artist Karyuu says, “I’ve been in the industry for a long time, and I’ve never seen an idea like this before. This is finally a fresh upgrade in the industry. It’s clear to me this will be something huge, which finally brings together artists and listeners.”

Verve is a state of the art venue packed with high end technology. Laser displays take you into another dimension. The sound system is crystal clear up top and punchy down low. Across this special festival, which is easily accessible by a train that stops right outside, Verve will welcome 10,000 people, offer more than 24 hours of music and more than 30 of the world’s most innovative techno DJs to play across two indoor stages. The first is a vast main room that will soak you in high end light and visuals, and the second is a slightly smaller space for more intimate but energetic sounds. As well as the music, there will be a culinary world tour that will take you through the best tastes on the planet, while an outdoor area will be a stylish place to catch your breath and chill with a cocktail or two.

Providing the soundtrack will be Berghain mainstay, techno pioneer and unrelenting DJ talent Ben Klock. His big, concrete funk sound is famous the world over and perfect for this sort of festival. German Innellea has the ability to transcend genre with his emotive sets and futuristic sounds. Lilly Palmer brings her contemporary techno sounds after big tunes on the likes of Drumcode and Spannung Records have established her right at the vanguard. On top this comes Dutch hero and Rejected label boss Joris Voorn, long time titan Oliver Huntemann, a special set from ØOSTIL b2b The Element, local Swiss stars Animal Trainer, stripped back and atmospheric techno from SHDW & OBSCURE SHAPE, plus more from techno talents Konstantin Sibold, Pig & Dan, Denis Horvat, Miss Monique, Cattarre, Doma, Gean, Kaleiko, Marco Capone, Pazkal, Vanita.

The festival comes from the Kopflos Agency, a respected, dynamic and dedicated events management agency based in Lucerne. The agency is very passionate about electronic music and has been at the heart of the local scene and now uses all its know-how to launch this much anticipated new event.

BM Music & Events host some of the UK’s best parties, from intimate basement shows to large scale festivals and everything in between. They have recently reinvigorated Manchester’s legendary Joshua Brooks and now bring their party know-how, innovative production and carefully curated line-ups to the city’s restored chapel come music venue Albert Halls for a sizzling season of parties covering all genres.

The Garden Party Leeds announces huge 16th anniversary weekender

Now in their 16th year, The Garden Party will take over a brand new, never before used city centre venue, soon to be revealed.

Since starting in 2006 The Garden Party has had many transformations over the years, from their beginnings in The Faversham, to their beloved venue Canal Mills, they’re huge tenth birthday celebrations at The Tetley and finally to their fully outdoor venue on Globe Road last year. Though they’ve had many changes, this is their biggest glow up yet.

Not only is The Garden Party amping up their venue, but with more space comes more stages. This new exclusive venue will allow The Garden Party to offer even more to its customers, including the introduction of two main stages, completely outdoor for those sunny Garden Party days.

For one weekend and one weekend only in 2022 The Garden Party will span across the May Bank Holiday, running from Saturday 30th April – Sunday 1st May.

The winter months have been going on far too long so The Garden Party is bringing summer forward a couple of weeks. Expect the bank holiday weekend to go off with 24 huge acts, including big names such as Jon Hopkins, Hot Since 82, Denis Sulta, Skream and so many more! They’ll also have a variety of food and drink offerings on site to keep you going for the whole weekend.

After a sell out weekend last year and their venue and line up announcements on the horizon, we’re expecting to see huge excitement surrounding the festival in the coming weeks.

Kevin & Perry Celebrate 20 Years at Amnesia Ibiza

In 2000 a teen film was released which has since gone on to earn cult status amongst clubbers across the Globe largely for its soundtrack, humour, performances from Harry Enfield and Kathy Burke and its references to Ibiza’s rave culture.

It’s hard to believe that over two decades (and a pandemic!) have flown by so how better to celebrate Kevin & Perry’s 20th anniversary than to go back to where it all happened, Amnesia Ibiza.

Dancing and music are now back and 100% legal again in Ibiza so this certainly calls for a double-celebration. Join us on Monday June 6th and on Tuesday 27th September 2022 as we finally return to where the cult movie was filmed 20 years ago.

The pandemic sadly disrupted the initial celebration plans but Kevin & Perry are springing back bigger and better as they are set to host BOTH the Discotheque and Terrace arenas at Amnesia, Ibiza.

Performing in the famous Discotheque will be the DJ that originally played during the actual filming, Seb Fontaine, the curator of the iconic soundtrack, Judge Jules and “Follow Me” track producer and DJ, Lange.

The supercharged Amnesia terrace will be hosted by Ben Nicky’s Emotional Havoc and Paul Taylor’s Retro parties!

Expect a crowd packed full of Trance & classic lovers, old school Ibiza faces and a vibe pulled straight from the 90’s/early 00’s with lasers, strobes and smoke machines!

Judge Jules – “What’s astonished me about Kevin and Perry is that its appeal spans the generations. Each track from its soundtrack is familiar to everyone between the ages of 13 and 50. Having been involved in the movie’s soundtrack, and having been in Ibiza when it was filmed 20 years ago, I could never have imagined that K&P would have such enduring musical and cultural significance. There have been a number of films covering Ibiza club culture, but none has come close to Kevin and Perry, in terms of its everlasting popularity. Going back to where it all started for the 20th Anniversary in Amnesia will be a special occasion indeed.”

Seb Fontaine – “Every time I watch it gives me goose-bumps. Working with them on the club scenes was fantastic and it was actually me djing with Kevin and Perry on fake decks. Marco Carola returns to Studio 338, this time to celebrate Music On’s birthday.

The dust has barely settled on an epic New Year’s Eve party but Studio 338 is already back with an irresistible run of parties in the first part of 2022. The Release opening kicked things off on January 29th with Luciano and now a big Music On Birthday with Marco Carola and guests Nic Fanciulli, Andre Oliva and more is to take place.

After a decade at the forefront, Studio 338 is internationally recognised as one of Europe’s leading super clubs. This run of parties backs that up and will see the whole venue open, including the vast main room with its exposed brick walls, raised podiums and wrap-around balconies all making the dance floor into an atmospheric cauldron. After two years of unforgettable sell out shows in Dubrovnik, mighty Manchester duo Solardo aim for a hat trick in 2022. In conjunction with Pollen Presents, Solardo announce their largest festival to date from September 23-27th: The pair curate their biggest ever line up with international tastemakers, showcasing some of the world’s top house and techno talent, a testament to the Manchester duo’s musical depth. The first wave of names include Marco Carola, FJAAK, Nicole Moudaber, Mall Grab, Maya Jane Coles, Vintage Culture, Nic Fanciulli, Lee Foss and many more. After multiple sell out shows at WHP, Circus Liverpool & London, Higher is now set to grow into a multi venue event across this historic city. Dubrovnik is famous for its vibrancy, with enchanting views sweeping over the terracotta rooftops, distinctive cobbled Old Town streets, numerous plazas and museums that detail the rich tapestry of Croatia’s past. Many may also recognise the city from hit series and films like Game Of Thrones and Star Wars.. It is a truly unique backdrop for a series of world class house and techno parties and this now globally renowned weekender takes place across its most essential sites, from an ancient fortress to a panoramic terrace high above the city and overlooking the piercing blue Adriatic Sea. 

Each location has its own charm and character and will be brought to life with world class sound and production. You can expect plenty of stunning views over the walled city and glistening sea, with breathtaking sunsets and sunrises every day as you enjoy beachside takeovers, pool and fortress parties and terrace sessions like no other.

House and techno duo Solardo lead the charge and since being crowned DJ Mag’s Best Breakthrough Act of 2016 and Best Duo of 2017 have never looked back. They have released on the likes of Elrow, Toolroom Records and Green Velvet’s Relief Records, have topped the Beatport charts and run their own vital Sola label. Now they bring their excellent curatorial skills to another mouthwatering Higher event.

They will be joined by a who’s who of house and techno talent from across the board, including Music On‘s Marco Carola, Berlin outfit FJAAK, Mood label head Nicole Moudaber, party starter Mall Grab, the always cultured Maya Jane Coles and global starVintage Culture, as well as plenty more from wAFF, Lee Foss, Mason Maynard, Andrea Oliva, Ben Hemsley, Eli Brown, Shermanology, Nic Fanciulli and plenty more.

Away from the music there is a rich array of culture to explore around the city, whether you meander on foot through the lime-paved streets, travel via cable car up to the fortress or simply lay back on the beach and soak up the good vibes.
