Today marks what should have been the start of a glorious Latitude 2020.This summer may not be as expected, but festival fans can rejoice as the multi-award-winning festival will return to the picturesque grounds of Henham Park, Suffolk, on 22nd-25th July 2021 with headliners Lewis Capaldi, Bastille and special guests Snow Patrol topping a diverse bill where music meets the arts in a full on cultural explosion.Weekend and day tickets are on sale on Monday 20th July at 9am here. Things have been a little quiet this year. It’s been tough without the music, without the laughs, without the wonder. So Latitude is getting ready to make 2021 the best year yet! Festival organisers are thrilled to announce a refreshed programme and emboldened vision retaining everything you loved about Latitude and much more.
Double BRIT Award winner Lewis Capaldi makes his Latitude debut as one of the UK’s biggest music success stories. In just one year after its release in May of 2019, Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent was certified triple platinum in the UK and has spent a whopping 60 weeks in the Top Ten. The album spawned such singles as Grace, Hold Me While You Wait, and Someone You Loved, which topped the charts in the US and the UK. It also earned Capaldi accolades on both sides of the Atlantic, including two BRIT awards and a Grammy nomination. A festival superstar, his live performances are legendary and, with the possible premiere of brand new material from his highly anticipated second album, this is going to be unmissable!!
Brit Award winners Bastille also make their Latitude debut as headliners. The cinematic performance will see the band perform a selection of songs from their three UK Top 10 studio albums Bad Blood, Wild World and Doom Days and material from their eagerly anticipated fourth album. Pioneers of hook-heavy hits such as Pompeii, Marshmello collaboration Happier, and Quarter Past Midnight, the four-piece continue to cement their reputation as one of the world’s most captivating live bands renowned for their cutting edge multi-sensory shows.
Snow Patrol make a momentous return to the Latitude in the coveted Sunday afternoon slot. The band who headlined the inaugural Latitude back in 2006, were forced to cancel their slot at Latitude in 2019 due to illness. 2021 will see the band perform back on The Obelisk Stage. This momentous performance will celebrate 25 years in the business. Expect festival-sized anthems with hits such as Crack The Shutters, Run, and Chasing Cars.
The biggest ever Tennent’s Vital just got bigger… With one week to go until tens of thousands of music fans descend on Boucher Road Playing Fields for three days of incredible live music, Tennent’s Lager and MCD are thrilled to reveal that Northern Irish legends The Undertones, the hugely in-demand rapper/songwriter/producer sensation Naughty Boy and Dublin rockers The Minutes will complete the Tennent’s Vital 2013 line-up. Organisers have also announced that the gates will open at 4.30pm each day over 14th – 16th August.
The three acts announced today complete an ultra-impressive bill bursting with the hottest acts on the planet. Tennent’s Vital 2013 kicks off on Wednesday 14th August, when Kings of Leon, The Vaccines, The Undertones and The Minutes take to the stage on the opening day. Snow Patrolplay a massive homecoming show (their only European date this summer) when they headline Day 2 of the festival, which also features Jazon Mraz, Kodaline and Foy Vance, with Avicii, Tinie Tempah, Rudimental, Naughty Boy and Tommy Trash continuing the party on Day 3.
Iconic punk/New Wave legends The Undertones are sure to receive a rapturous reception when they play Day 1 of Tennent’s Vital. The Derry band reformed in 1999 to the delight of music fans across the globe, winning over a new generation of fans with classics from their seminal back catalogue such as Teenage Kicks and Here Comes The Summer. This year marks the 35th anniversary of the release of their seminal debut single Teenage Kicks, and fans can look forward to hearing all the hits in Belfast next week.
After spending years penning and producing hits for the likes of Rihanna, Wiley, Professor Green and Chipmunk, Naughty Boy (aka producer Shahid Khan) deservedly emerged into the spotlight in his own right with the smash hit Wonder feat. Emeli Sandé. Its chart-topping follow-up La La La is currently dominating the charts as the tune of the summer, and has well and truly cemented his status as one of the hottest new rapper/producer stars around. Having co-written and produced Emeli Sandé’s record-breaking, million-selling Our Version of Events, the unstoppable pair team up once again on his hotly anticipated forthcoming single Lifted, with the Scottish songstress also lending vocals to his debut album HotelCabana, which also features a guest spot from fellow Tennent’s Vital act Tinie Tempah.
Dublin rockers The Minutes complete the line-up. Channelling raucous, high voltage garage rock ‘n’ roll with elements of the blues and gospel, they went down an absolute storm at Tennent’s Vital last year and will make a welcome return to Belfast this summer when they play Day 1 of the festival.
The countdown to the biggest ever Tennent’s Vital continues tonight at The Limelight in Belfast at the second of two official Tennent’s Vital warm-up parties. Fans can register for tickets for the warm up parties on facebook.
Tennent’s Lager and MCD are thrilled to reveal that Snow Patrol will return to Tennent’s Vital this summer to play a massive homecoming show at Belfast’s Boucher Road Playing Fields onThursday 15th August. In a major coup for organisers, the band’s headline slot on the Day 2 of the festival will be their only European date this summer. Kodaline and Foy Vance have also been added to the bill for Day 2 of Tennent’s Vital.
Snow Patrol played the very first Tennent’s Vital back in 2002, returned to headline in 2006, and now they’re set to receive a local hero’s welcome when they bring their epic festival anthems back home to Belfast this August. The five-piece soared to international stardom after releasing their chart-topping breakthrough album Final Straw, which yielded the band's first top 5 hit, Run and bagged them the inaugural Ivor Novello for Best Album in 2004. Its multi-platinum-selling, smash hit follow-up Eyes Open featured the epic Chasing Cars – a huge hit which was hailed Best Song of All Time by Virgin Radio listeners, number one song of the noughties by Channel 4 viewers and became the most played song of the decade in the UK.
Hailed Irish Band of the Decade by Hot Press in 2009, they are recipients of an impressive array of Meteor Music Awards, including Best Irish Band (2005, 2007, 2010), Best Irish Album (Final Straw andEyes Open), Best Live Performance and Most Downloaded Song (Chasing Cars). Their long-awaited return to Tennent’s Vital promises to be an epic, unmissable occasion.
Dublin four-piece Kodaline have had a phenomenal start to the year, after going down a storm at SXSW and topping the Irish single charts with the smash hit single High Hopes. The group release their hotly anticipated debut album InA Perfect World this summer, and are sure to get the crowd going when they play Boucher Road Playing Fields this August.
Northern Irish singer-songwriter Foy Vance made a big impression with his 2012 release The Melrose EP, and is set to follow it up with his new album Joy of Nothing this summer. Celebrated for his thought-provoking, powerful lyrics and spine-tingling vocals, he’s been hailed as one of the finest song-writers to emerge from Northern Ireland in recent years.
Last month organisers revealed that US rock giants Kings of Leon will headline Day 1 of the festival (14th August), with more top acts set to be revealed by organisers in the coming months.
Nicola McCleery, Head of Marketing for Tennent’s NI, commented:
“Snow Patrol are huge favourites with the Tennent’s Vital crowd – they played our very first festival back in 2002, and blew everyone away with their headline set in 2006, which has gone down in Tennent’s Vital history as a truly seminal moment. They are one of the biggest bands in the world, and we can’t wait to welcome them back to home soil. Joining them will be Kodaline and Foy Vance, who we’ve also announced today, and the second day of Tennent’s Vital promises to be very special indeed.”
The N Dubz star will make her V debut as a solo artist at this year’s festival, which takes place across the weekend of the 18th and 19th August.
The ‘Young’ singer will join headliners Stone Roses and The Killers and a veritable feast of musical talent including Snow Patrol, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Lawon, Rita Ora,Nicki Minaj, David Guetta, Tinie Tempah, Wretch 32, Ed Sheeran as well as her NDubz band mate Dappy.
The addition of Tulisa to the bill comes after the news that US folk singer Lissie will sadly no longer be appearing on the V Festival line up.
With the festival weekend drawing ever closer, fans are being asked to stay tuned for further announcements over the upcoming weeks.
