Meanwhile, grabbing New Blood slots via the online submission process are these lucky acts.
Joining Friday’s New Blood stage are London’s LOKUST.  Their ferocious, instrumental demo single, ‘Guiltless’ (featuring Krimh – Septicflesh/ex-Decapitated) only hints at what’s to come when they release their debut album this year.  Also appearing Friday will be Stoke On Trent’s self-described “heavy as fuck” trio, HEADPRESS. Get a taster of their brutal triple attack via the video for ‘Outlines’. And joining Friday’s fray are Yorkshire UKHC squad, STREET SOLDIER. Check out the crunchy uncompromising title track from their debut ‘One Man Gang’ EP.

For Saturday’s New Blood stage, we welcome South Wales black metal collective OFNUS. Watch out for the band’s debut full length coming this Summer and meanwhile get a taster of their bleak, brutal sound.  Also featured on Saturday will be riff-laden Manchester metal trio, VICE. Their second album, ‘For The Fallen’ was released last summer – watch their video for ‘Vultures’ here

Irish doomsters SOOTHSAYER also land themselves a Saturday slot. Get familiar with their glorious, atmospheric noise via the video for ‘Cities Of Smoke’, taken from their album ‘Echoes Of The Earth’. Last, but certainly not least, Danish modern death metal squad NAKKEKNAEKKER join Saturday’s line up. For a five piece with the average age of 18, these boys have skills beyond their years. Check out this clip of their live show.

Over on Sunday’s New Blood stage, you’ll be seeing East Anglian thrashers ELIMINATION. The band’s 2021 debut, ‘Echoes of the Abyss’ turned many heads and the band are at work on its successor, due out this year.  In the interim, watch their video for ‘Icon of Despair’

Also grabbing a slot are Northern Ireland rock trio, SKYPILOT. The band’s latest album, ‘Simple Beasts’, laden with fat riffs, landed last Summer, featuring the track, ‘Octofuzz’. And Nottingham extreme noise terrorists OUTERGODS grab a Sunday spot. Featuring members of Evil Scarecrow and Raised By Owls, the band are working on a new album that’ll land this Summer.  In the meantime investigate their ungodly ‘Catacombs of Madness’.
BLOODSTOCK’s very popular club nights are also underway! Grab your mates, hit the dance floor, and perhaps you’ll be a lucky winner coming home with a free pair of weekend tickets – every club night will be running a competition! If none of these are near you, fret not, there will be more party nights at other locations through June and July revealed soon.

Decibel Open Air Announces 2023 Lineup Featuring Amelie Lens, Michael Bibi, Paul Kalkbrenner And More

Tickets: www.decibelopenair.com
Date: 9-10th September, 2023
Location: Florence, Italy
Facebook / Instagram: @decibelopenair

Decibel Open Air is back in Florence from 9-10 September 2023, after the recently sold out Easter Edition and last year’s event gathering fifty thousand attendees, with thirty percent coming outside of Italy, the legendary electronic festival is revealing the first names of their incredible lineup.

Decibel Open Air 2023 offers one the best of the electronic music acts with Moderat (live), Paul Kalkbrenner (live), Peggy Gou, Michael Bibi, Amelie Lens, Salmo (live), Lazza (live), Boris Brejcha, Loco Dice B2b Jamie Jones, Camelphat, Meduza, I Hate Models, Folamour, WhoMadeWho, Nico Moreno, Trym, 999999999, Indira Paganotto, Charlie Sparks, Klangkuenstler, Anfisa Letyago, Adiel, Daria Kolosova, Raven, Amémé, Honey Luv, Brina Knauss, Luca Agnelli, Dov’è Liana, Pôngo, Mattia Trani, Speaking Mind and many others. A huge line up with best live and dj sets, an excellent mix of techno and house and other eclectic sounds.

Paul Kalkbrenner comes back to Decibel Open Aor for the third time. Coming from the golden age of techno and turning twelve when the Berlin Wall fell, he spent his teenage years raving, before starting to DJ and collect records as electronic dance music’s first tidal wave spilled throughout the city. He realized early that DJing wasn’t for him, and has focused on producing and playing his own music live ever since.

Sitting somewhere between Detroit, London and Berlin in sound, Peggy Gou dj sets are an assured, kinetic combination of dark, pulsing house and techno, broken beats and abstract compositions.

Michael Bibi is a name that resonates with many. His sound and productions (Solid Grooves) are instantly recognizable: thanks to them he has soundtracked nights and events across the globe in Ibiza, London, New York, Buenos Aires and Tulum.

Decibel Open Air is going to be very much strengthened thanks to a huge line up and many novelties. Most of all, a new location: an area of over hundred thousand square meters, able to improve services and logistics. All the details will be revealed very soon.

Order Link

This is not the first time that Shall Ocin and Braev have both featured on the same record, after their collaboration with ARTBAT on ‘Origin’ last year. Since that last release Shall Ocin has collaborated again with ARTBAT remixing Marc Romboy and Stephan Bodzin’s Atlas on Systematic Recordings and the Argentine producer has become a integral part of the UPPERGROUND label roster, where he has performed at the labels recent showcases in BarcelonaTulum, and Israel, with more coming later this year.

For his first full EP on the label Shall Ocin teams up with the incredible Braev, on the title track ‘Broken Hearts’, where Shall Ocin creates a highly emotional track where an immersive feeling encapsulates you inside a bubble of sensory pleasure, as the haunting and heartfelt vocal from Braev hits you deep within as if it’s being sung to only you, forming a track that is touching and sentimental that will connect and stay with many for a long time to come.

On the flip side is ‘Colapso’ where Shall Ocin creates something that is aimed strictly at the dance floor. Highly charged beats combined with menacing dark synths give this an indie feel right from the get-go and the hypnotic soundscapes trigger emotions and sensations as the track progresses with its eerie almost austere and gothic feel that captures the imagination unlike any other track.

Kite Festival – 2023 preview

Kite: Self-described as ”a festival like no other’, this truly is one of the most eclectic and exciting line-ups of the summer.

Where else can you witness Dame Joan Collins as support act for the legendary Suede? Or Tony Blair’s former PR guru Alastair Campbell sit alongside former Conservative PM Sir John Major?

The music is some of the best of the summer season – Don’t get me wrong, the recently reformed Pretenders still have the swagger and great guitar rock tunes. Hot Chip are one of Summer Festival Guide’s favourite live bands. Their cover of Dancing in the Dark is one never to miss.

Elsewhere, Alison Goldfrapp is a pioneer and truly groundbreaking with her exciting art, while Grammy Award winning Candy Staton will keep everyone dancing. Baxter Dury has crafted a career of his own, offering psychedelia-infused indie rock that has found a strong cult following.

David Baddiel, Mel Giedroyc, both household names renowned for their partnerships will be firm favourites.

Shadow-chancellor Rachel Reeves will be leaving the front bench of the Labour Party to join the festivities, possibly before moving into Number 11 next summer.

Also of note, Adam Kay, best selling author of ‘This Is Going to Hurt’, will be on site if anyone needs a doctor, but after the stories he’s told, it’s probably best to stick with the first aid kit!

With access to every talk on the Ideas program as well as the world class music and entertainment across the Heavenly, Bloom and Skylark stages. this is the best value ticket of the year.

The remaining tickets are now available at https://kitefestival.co.uk/tickets/
