The next name to be added to our Saturday lineup is a DJ who has formed an unbreakable bond with South West Four over the past decade; Carl Cox. An irrepressible force who continues to push the boundaries, Carl has performed at every club and festival imaginable over the past 25 years. A veteran of acid house and a true champion of techno, Carl has continued to exercise his ability of entertaining the ever evolving electronic music scene. Boasting one of the largest fan bases in dance music, Carl has visited each and every continent during the past twelve months, delivering deep, driving yet uplifting grooves every time. This includes Ultra Music Festival, Tomorrowland, Electric Daisy Carnival and Stereosonic, whilst his Space Ibiza residency aided Carl in being crowned ‘Best Techno DJ’ in 2012’s Ibiza DJ Awards. Thepioneer will return to the White Isle in 2013 where his night will reclaim its position as one of the most popular weekly nights on the planet.

Swap the wellies for high heels and replace the poncho's for shirts and you have the launch night of T in the Park. With artificial grass, wooden picnic tables and fairy lights the venue had been turned in to T in the Park, with a roof. The opening act was Fatherson (http://www.facebook.com/fathersonband ) who have played at T in the Park the last two years and opened for the likes of Panic! at the Disco, Feeder and Twin Atlantic. Ross Leighton, vocals of the band has a soft controlled voice that captures the room and with songs that don't contain awful cliché lyrics like a lot of bands, it was a pleasant breath of fresh air.
The next band on the stage were Vigo Thieves who were gracefully in sync with one another and had such an effortless presence that demanded your attention. After listening to some of their songs on their Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/vigothieves) I would say their recorded tracks do their live performance no justice. After selling out one of their dates for their ep launch in King Tuts Glasgow I can tell they'll definitely have a warm welcome from their fan base at this years T in the Park.
Geoff Ellis, one of the founders of T in the Park explained that last year when many UK festivals were shut down due to bad weather conditions, that T in the Park was never at such a risk thanks to the hard work and determination of all staff sorting out the grounds. It's possible for this reason, among the amazing line ups and crowds that gather year after year that T in the Park for crowned "International festival of the year" at the Pollstar Awards in LA earlier this month. With 2013 being T in the Park's 20th anniversary you can expect it to be even bigger than last, but will you be there? Tickets go on sale on Friday 22nd of February at 9am. U-Roy revolutionized the musical style of Reggae in 1969 through Toasting. "toasting" rapping over "versions" of popular songs remixed by King Tubby. Considered one of Jamaica's first Deejay stars, "U-Roy raised the art of toasting to new heights. He didn't just spit a few phrases here and there, he rode the riddim from the starting gate to the last furlong". The instigator Rap in the world!! U-Roy working with Duke Reid created a "version" of the Paragons' "Wear You to the Ball" which became the first ever "toast" record to make an impact back in 1969!! The Jamaican reggae living legend is back on the worldwide stage with a brand new album: Pray Fi Di People after 10 years of absence in the studios! This album confirms again the Jamaican toaster’s talent with a roots sound which followed his time and which is claiming peace respect and music’s universality.

What better way to celebrate the historic 50-year milestone of 007 than at a very special James Bond Themed Gala Evening. Now a British institution, Ian Fleming’s suave spy first appeared in Casino Royale and most recently in the award winning Skyfall. Now in homage to the great man, the Henley Festival will celebrate with a bold, blockbuster variety show featuring West End singers, James Bond style stunts, a guest star presenter, professional dancers from BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, plus surprise guests, to be announced in the coming weeks.
Bond films have consistently delivered memorable and award winning sound tracks and these stirring melodies will be at the heart of the grand Shaken & Stirred. The Music of James Bond evening, with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the heart of proceedings performing classic tracks from an array of Bond films; such as Diamonds Are Forever, Goldfinger, Live and Let Die,Skyfall, and many more.

Veronica Falls recently released second album Waiting For Something To Happen last week has been given five stars in the Guardian, and needless to say it is great.
Rachel Zeffira released her debut solo album The Deserters in December. The Canadian singer is one half of Cats Eyes, alongside Faris Badwan of The Horrors.
Half Moon Run is a Canadian trio that fuses restless elements of indie, pop and folk with beautiful harmonies, delicate guitar lines and a hint of warm electronica.
Sweet Baboo releases new album Ships in April. Current single Let’s Go Swimming Wild, out yesterday, is a sublime piece of bittersweet, brass-driven Welsh indie pop.
Jacco Gardner is a 24-year-old maverick psychedelic musician from Holland whose Cabinet Of Curiosities album calls to mind disparate influences including Curt Boettcher, Broadcast and Nirvana.
Teleman are an ace new London three-piece that rose from the ashes of former band Pete & The Pirates. Recent single Cristina is one of the tunes of 2013 so far.
Annie Dressner recently moved to the UK from her hometown of New York City; her new EP, East Twenties, showcases her straightforward lyrical style, sharp ear for wordplay and crisp, lilting vocals.
Site specific music, art, theatre and dance designed with a family audience come together to create a magical experience. The award-winning festival, which takes place in Cheshire each August takes families out of their day to day lives and invites them to sing, dance, play, explore and discover art together in a spellbinding natural landscape. Superstar Justin Timberlake is confirmed to headline Wireless Festival on Friday 12 July, this will be his only UK festival performance of 2013, Snoop Dogg, Trey Songz, John Legend, Miguel and very special guest Frank Ocean also join the bill. Music megastar Jay Z has confirmed his only European performance of 2013 at Wireless Festival on Saturday July 13. Emeli Sande, Rita Ora, Kendrick Lamar, Miguel, DJ Fresh/Live will also appear along with Calvin Harris who is confirmed as special guest. Having sold over 30 million albums world wide Snoop Dogg has become a true music legend. In 2010, Legend teamed up with The Roots for the critically-acclaimed, award-winning collaborative album 'Wake Up'. His new album, ‘Love In The Future’ Is out this year. Man of the moment Miguel who was recently awarded a Grammy for his US hit single ‘Adorn’ also joins the bill, he will appear Friday 12th July and Saturday 13th July. Chart-topping, multiplatinum producer Calvin Harris makes a welcome return to the Wireless Festival joining headliner JAY Z on Saturday 13 July as very special guest. Undoubtedly one of the biggest names in dance music today, he broke chart records earlier this year by becoming the first UK act to achieve seven top ten singles all from the same album, which included two number ones. He’s collaborated with the likes of Rihanna, Florence and The Machine, Ne-Yo and Tinie Tempah, and was recently nominated for Best Male Artist at the BRIT awards 2013.
Scottish singer songwriter Emeli Sande, one of Britain’s brightest music stars, will be making her first ever Wireless Festival appearance this year. Her debut album 'Our Version Of Events' was the top selling album of 2012 in the UK and included epic songs such as ‘Next To Me’ and ‘Read All About It’. After an electrifying performance at last years Wireless Festival, Rita Ora is confirmed to return. Since the release of her debut single ‘Hot Right Now’ from her #1 certified platinum album ‘Ora’ she has been an unstoppable presence in the UK Charts. Hotly tipped Kendrick Lamar, whose recent album ‘Good Kid, M.A.A.D City’ received worldwide acclaim, also joins Saturday’s bill. DJ Fresh will also be performing, the Drum & Bass/Dubstep producer and DJ has had several #1 singles, the most recent being ‘Hot Right Now’ featuring Rita Ora.

Swing/hip-hop, reggae fusion, rock n’ roll, electronic and ska sounds are all covered elsewhere in the kaleidoscopic additions to Standon Calling in the form of The Correspondents, Gentlemen’s Dub Club, Revere, Belakiss, Bibelots, New Groove Formation and Stills. Local singer-songwriter Annie Dale is also confirmed in the first of a number of Hertfordshire acts to play Standon Calling this year.

For its upcoming 19th year, the organisers of Rock for People promised a combination of proven names and new talents. The festival will take place from 2nd to the 5th of July at the Festivalpark in Hradec Kralove. The first part of this promise is fully affirmed by four names of the first confirmed bands. These are names which are very well known by the Czech audience, and bands which belong at one of the biggest hotspots this year's festival season. No need to introduce this project of DJ Marcus Füreder aka Parov Stelar and his 21st century electrified swing. Every concert, including the last one in Prague's Lucerna Bar, is hopelessly sold out. Therefore, and rightly so, Parov Stelar are at the forefront of music from the swing era. This enlarged group will bring its biggest hits to Hradec Kralove, in a show which will please the dancers amongst us, regardless of age or musical taste.
Americans PAPA ROACH will be popular with the part of the Rock for People audience who lean towards harder genres – rap metal, nu metal or hard rock. Even after twenty years on the scene, these Californian legends, led by frontman Jacoby Shaddix have energy to spare. It's not only demonstrated by their latest album, The Connection, but also by dozens of sold-out performances. They will bring their new tracks to Hradec Kralove and introduce them alongside the best of their back catalogue.
Evil tongues would say that the British group, Klaxons, gained mass favour because it created its own genre – new rave. Spontaneous shows, success at the biggest festivals, a number of highly respected and indeed, successful recordings in 'Myths of the Near Future' and 'Surfing the Void' show that this self-marketing is not so true. Klaxons are big stars among indie rockers or fans of electronic music. Their popularity will continue to grow with every step, as this year the band will release a new album for its many adoring fans.
During a live Twitter interview with Festival Director Geoff Ellis and Head of Sponsorship at Tennent’s Lager George Kyle this afternoon, it was revealed that Calvin Harris will make a return to Kinross for the festival’s 20th year. One of the world’s most in-demand DJs, producers and songwriters, the latest album from the local hero turned global megastar featured a glittering array of guest artists, including T in the Park headliner Rihanna.
