“Anything that draws me back to London ~ and therefore to England ~ fills my heart with joy. And to be able to visit and make music… is always a dream come true…” says Stevie Nicks.

Stevie Nicks has played a pivotal role in shaping the global music scene. Best known for her iconic contributions to the rock band Fleetwood Mac, Nicks joined the group in 1975, introducing her distinctive voice, poetic songwriting, and captivating stage presence. Her impact on Fleetwood Mac’s success during the late 1970s and early 1980s, particularly with the release of the highly acclaimed album Rumours, solidified her as a musical powerhouse. This record sold over 40 million copies worldwide, making it the 5th best-selling album of the 1970s and the 9th best-selling album of all time.

Beyond her contributions to Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks has had a significant solo career that further cements her enduring influence. Hits like ‘Edge of Seventeen’ and ‘Stand Back’ showcase her versatility and unique style. Nicks’ ability to transcend musical boundaries, coupled with her trailblazing role as a woman in rock, has inspired generations of artists, including some of recent collaborators Miley Cyrus and Lana Del Rey. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Fleetwood Mac in 1998 and as a solo artist in 2019, Stevie Nicks continues to be celebrated not only for her musical prowess but also as a symbol of resilience and creativity in the ever-evolving musical landscape.

Stevie Nicks’ headline show at BST Hyde Park follows her hugely successful run of US shows, now extended into 2024.

Celebrated for her ethereal voice, poetic lyrics, and captivating stage presence, music icon Stevie Nicks will deliver an unforgettable performance at American Express presents BST Hyde Park.

BST Hyde Park announces: Kings of Leon

American Express presents BST Hyde Park is very excited to welcome back Nashville’s finest Kings of Leon to London! The multi-award winning rock group will headline at BST Hyde Park on Sunday 30 June, with special guests Paolo Nutini and The Vaccines. The full line-up for the show is still to be announced. Tickets go on sale Wednesday 28 February, 10am GMT, with an American Express presale live from 10am GMT on 23 February. Tickets are available at www.bst-hydepark.com

Kings of Leon have also just announced their brand new album, Can We Please Have Fun, their 9th studio record. The album, as its title suggests, is a document of one of this era’s great rock and roll bands cutting loose, trying new things, and yes, having some fun. Recorded at Dark Horse studio and produced with new collaborator Kid Harpoon (Harry Styles, Florence + the Machine), the album sees the band hark back to their gritty origins, while simultaneously finding new gears.

About playing at BST Hyde Park, Kings of Leon say: “We can’t wait to get back to London and play at BST this summer. It is always a blast to play in the UK and we are ready to have some fun.”

The group, made of brothers Caleb, Nathan and Jared Followill, and their cousin Matthew Followill, first shot to success here in the UK. Their debut album, 2003’s Youth and Young Manhood, became a sensation -declared by NME as “one of the best debut albums of the last 10 years”. The multi-platinum selling band has  three Grammy Awards, three NME Awards, two BRIT Awards, and one Juno Award. They have toured all over the world, selling out arenas and stadiums and headlining major festivals including Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds Festival on three separate occasions, Lollapalooza and Coachella.

Scottish singer-songwriter Paolo Nutini joins the line-up as a special guest. With a soulful voice and a gift for storytelling, Nutini’s 2006 debut album These Streets was an instant sensation in the UK, reaching Number 3 in the Official Charts amidst a flurry of critical acclaim. His second record Sunny Side Up hit Number 1 a few years later, and his third album followed suit, after which the BRIT Award nominee took a hiatus. To much anticipation from fans, Nutini returned in 2022 with Last Night in the Bittersweet, topping the charts once more.

Plus The Vaccines, who recently released their new record Pick-up Full of Pink Carnations.

The lineup for American Express presents BST Hyde Park 2024 is set to be truly spectacular, with Kings of Leon joining previously announced headliners Andrea Bocelli (5 July), Robbie Williams (6 July), Shania Twain (7 July), Kylie (13 July) and Stray Kids (14 July), with more artists to be revealed soon!

The Legendary Love Family Park returns for its 25th Anniversary

The festival has unveiled first headliners and for the first time, extends over two days

Tickets: http://lovefamilypark.com/tickets

After a much talked about return last year, one of Germany’s most prestigious open-air techno festivals Love Family Park is back once again at the stunning Rebstockpark in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. This year the 25th edition extends to two days and plays out on the weekend of August 3 and 4 2024 with two stages on each day. The first phase of headliners include on Day One Adam Beyer, Charlie Sparks, Loco Dice, Patrick Mason, Sven Väth and more and on Day Two 999999999, Alignment, Indira Paganotto, Mind Against, Miss Monique, PAN-POT b2b Sama’ Abdulhadi, Reinier Zonneveld live, Trym and more.

Since 1996, the LFP has been an integral part of the electronic music scene and a cultural institution in the Rhine-Main area. This year it makes its epic 25th edition as it remains a highlight for music lovers with a program that is celebrated for its mix of quality, tradition, and diversity with a lineup that reflects all the colours of the modern spectrum. The venue for all this is the Rebstockpark Frankfurt, a lush and open green space with the city’s skyline off in the distance that is very well connected to local motorways, public transport and the international airport in Frankfurt.

Last year’s first event in four years successfully took place without noise complaints and in harmony with environmental protections. The organiser reduced the capacity to 10,000 guests on two floors for the pilot project and because it went so well with great feedback from all, this year it doubles in size with 20, 000 people welcomed to the same areas as in 2023 but across two days. This minimises environmental impact and means that getting in and out remains hassle free for festival attendees.

LFP now has a long-term home that enables it to offer more cats than ever with the new two day concept on two bespoke stages with high class sound systems and cutting edge production. Once again the soundtrack comes from the cutting edge with Drumcode boss Adam Beyer, dark techno master Charlie Sparks, the chunky rolling sounds of German titan Loco Dice, brilliance from Patrick Mason, colourful sounds from the Cocoon hero Sven Väth, blistering grooves from 999999999, Alignment, and breakout Spanish star Indira Paganotto, melodic explorations from Italian pair Mind Against and Ukranie’s prog innovator Miss Monique, plus a special coming together of PAN-POT b2b Sama’ Abdulhadi, fierce acid techno from Reinier Zonneveld live and much more to come.

Love Family Park is an incomparable all-dayer that unites thousands of party-people from across Europe so make sure you are part of this celebration of the world’s finest techno and house. Tickets include free public transportation within the RMV area and last year’s sold out so get yours now for this spectacular 25th edition at lovefamilypark.com/tickets.

Fresh from the success of his latest album ‘Road,’ a concept album about the thrills and spills of touring, Alice is back, accompanied as always by his long-running live band of Ryan Roxie (guitar), Chuck Garric (bass), Tommy Henrikson (guitar), Glen Sobel (drums), and Nita Strauss (guitar).

For ‘Road’, I wanted the band to be involved in the foundation of all the songs,” says Alice. “I only see these guys when we’re on the road. So, I wanted them to be as tight as they are for the show but on all new material. When you have a band this good, I believe in showing it off, and this is my way of doing so.”

Primal Scream, one of Britain’s best-loved rock bands, will join Alice for the tour, in all cities except London.  The Glasgow band have been on an odyssey, making jangly guitar pop to brash rock n roll, incorporating acid house and psychedelia into unique records and live experiences.  Frontman Bobby Gillespie cites Alice’s shocking appearances on 1970s Top of the Pops as a formative influence.

Bombay Bicycle Club @ Cambridge Junction 10/02/2024

Back in 2008 at The Roundhouse in Camden on a Saturday afternoon at Artrocker’s all ages club was the first time that I witnessed the amazing indie rock band Bombay Bicycle Club. I always remember it being a great show and have seen the band grow over the years with becoming more successful in the music industry. They were also the first band that I got to photograph for Artrocker Magazine so they have a special place in my life.

As part of their UK tour they stopped off at Cambridge Corn Exchange on a Saturday night for a sold out show. When attending the show it was great to find refuge from the rain and to see everyone eagerly awaiting for the music. Throughout the night was DJ Chux playing music to entertain the crowd between bands.

Supporting act was Lime Garden who are an indie rock band from Brighton, consisting of members Chloe Howard, Leila Deeley, Tippi Morgan and Annabel Whittle. The band were stood across the front of the stage and performed a selection of songs. Their debut album ‘One More Thing’ is out on the 24th February across all platforms. They are also doing a UK tour in February/March.

The stage was decorated with colourful streamers (like the old ones you hang in doors to stop the flies coming in), balloons and big 3D lights saying ‘MY BIG DAY’.

When Bombay Bicycle Club hit the stage the members entered the stage and frontman Jack came out holding two confetti cannons which he shot out over the audience. First up was ‘Just a Little More Time’ which really got the crowd going. The four members were joined with other musicians playing saxophone, trumpets etc. They were also joined by Olive Jones who was vocalist for songs such as ‘Tekken 2’ and a cover of Selena Gomez’s ‘Lose You To Love You’.

Throughout the evening the band played songs from the new album and back catalogue and also ‘Fantasneeze’ which is a song from their upcoming EP.

Later in the performance the band disappeared leaving Jack to do a solo acoustic version of ‘Dust On The Ground’. The band finish with ‘Shuffle’ which is a fan favourite. Then there is an encore which they come back on stage to finish with two more songs including their most loved song ‘Always Like This’.

Its clear to see that the band love playing music and have really nailed their live sets. It will be great to hopefully see the band again in the near future and look forward to hearing their new EP.
