French born DJ David Guetta and Trinidadian-American rapper Nicki Minaj took to the stage of Wireless Festival last night and did not disappoint. Due to travel issues Nicki had missed her spot but had mutually agreed with David that they would share the set. David Guetta started on stage with a number of classics including dance and hip hop tubes which got the crowd dancing and singing along. David constantly remind the crowd of his love for for London and wasted no time in letting off the fireworks, smoke and even confetti. Throughout his performance David engaged with the crowd, hyping them up for both his performance and for what was up to come.
About 20 minutes into his set David teased the crowd with a song he and Nicki had recorded together. However it wasn't for a further 20 minutes that Nicki Minaj finally graced the adoring crowd with her presence. Nicki wasted no time in getting started and had the crowd eating out of the palm of her hands. David and Nicki performed one song together and then Nicki was left to take over. Nicki jumped straight into songs off of her latest album The Pink Print. Including only and anaconda. Both of which she performed with backing dancers both male and female which sent the crowd wild. Nicki moved on to older songs from previous albums including Pink Friday.
Nicki continued to engage with the crowd asking her 'fellow West Indians' if they had prepared any Ox tail soup or Curried Goat for her. She continued on to joke with the crowd and fully engage with them throughout her set, whilst continuing with songs both old and new.
All in all it is safe to say that although Nicki had missed her own set, she made up for it with the performance she provided for her fans. She did not fail to deliver an amazing set, with amazing song choices and a positive vibe despite the complications she had finished. It is safe to say that Nicki Minaj was a perfect way to end the weekend and Wireless Festival 2015.

With the former Hard Rock Calling Festival boasting some of the biggest acts in music history, the newly relocated pint-sized Calling Festival brought a seemingly placid crowd to London's Clapham Common on Saturday 4th July.
Oasis icon Noel Gallagher saw to it that the crowd weren't disappointed, bringing forth a selection of tracks from High Flying Birds' latest album and a number of 90's classics including 'Champagne Supernova', 'Fade Away' and 'Whatever'. Happily engaging with his fans in classic Gallagher fashion, the crowd of midsummer anorak-wearing, Paul Weller haircut-donning post-mods showed their gratefulness by launching cups of overpriced festival beer (or similarly coloured liquid) into the air.
Whilst there was no hope of brother Liam surprising fans with an appearance, Noel brought the festival to a close in style with 'Don't Look Back in Anger'.

Highlights from the day included Swedish rockers The Hives smashing their performance before handing over the Main Stage's surprisingly small crowd to a lack-lustre Modest Mouse. Luckily New Yorkers Bleachers were able to pick up the pace and entertain with their punk-pop-esque energy and sax solos. Ryan Adams was at hand to cater to his UK fanbase whilst Wolf Alice seized the opportunity to warm up the crowd with an energetic and emotive selection of songs from their small yet undeniably impressive catalogue.
See below for the full setlist for Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds at Calling Festival, Clapham Common on 4th July 2015:
Shoot a Hole Into the Sun Everybody's on the Run Lock All the Doors In the Heat of the Moment Fade Away (Oasis cover) The Death of You and Me Riverman You Know We Can't Go Back Champagne Supernova (Oasis cover) Dream On Whatever (Oasis cover) The Mexican (Stranded On) The Wrong Beach AKA… Broken Arrow Digsy's Dinner (Oasis cover) If I Had a Gun…
Encore: Do the Damage The Masterplan (Oasis cover) AKA… What a Life! Don't Look Back in Anger (Oasis cover)
American rapper Kendrick Lamar took to the stage of wireless festival last night and did not disappoint after a long day of the crowd eagerly awaiting his performance. With the sun shining down on Finsbury Park, Kendrick wasted no time in getting the crowd up on their feet, chanting "Oh Kendrick Lamar" clapping and cheering. Kendrick started out with an old classic of his, Temptation before swiftly moved on to crowd pleasers such as Backstreet Freestyle, I, Money trees and many more from a combination of his albums. Kendrick continued to work the crowd and had them eating out of the palm of his hands. In turn the crowd continued to feed Kendricks set by singing along, dancing and chanting, the crowd and Kendrick struck up an immediate bond. Kendrick constantly reminded the crowd of his love for London leading to an eruption of cheers every time.
Kendrick connected with fans and even suggested bringing one dedicated fan, who knew all the words, up on stage. Before deciding to give her a shout out instead. Kendricks constant interaction with the crowd as well as the set of good songs he chose lead to an amazing atmosphere. Many had waited eagerly all day to see Kendrick and he did not disappoint.
All in all it is safe to say after a long hot day of waiting to see Kendrick Lamar, he did not fail to deliver exactly what the crowd wanted and it was a great way to end the day.
For one unforgettable day and night, the back garden of the quaint, scenic and peaceful setting of Temple Newsam will be transformed into an electronic, beat-heavy haven. A place where thousands of music fanatics can listen to hour-upon-hour of highly-charged techno, with a heavy-duty line-up with no trace of a weak link. This is, of course, Cocoon in the Park; so be prepared for a day witnessing a consistent view of pumping fists to the likes of Sven Väth, Dixon, Seb Zito and the almight Carl Cox – and that’s just to name a few.
I saw Enzo Siragusa play alongside tINI just a couple of weeks ago, and to say it was incredible would be an understatement. The dancefloor was packed with a typical array of sweating bodies, all of us wonderstruck with his stripped down tech house style beats that whet our appetite so well. His appearance at Cocoon at the Park should be no different, and he’s definitely one who you should get down – whether early in the day or not – to witness.
Without a shadow of a doubt, SvenVäth is, quite frankly, a legend amongst men. His style and passion knows no boundaries; it has influenced many and has truly revolutionised electronic music, so to hear he’ll be leading an army of music fanatics at Cocoon is music to everyone’s ears. Expect deep, indulging sounds and chasm of rich interludes – and more than anything, one hell of a set.
Ricardo Villalobos minimal percussion styling might not be to everyone’s taste, but at a festival like Cocoon, even the most unsold of revellers will be given the chance to see what the half Chilean has to offer. His sets have differed, sometimes containing blends of solid down to acid house, other times something completely different; but he is simply a pioneer, a DJ so different and exciting, it’s almost essential to catch a glimpse of him at Cocoon.
Carl Cox is a name that simply exhumes that dark, exciting, fist-pumping atmosphere when said out loud. You don’t need to be told of the talent; it’s almost become agiven, just common knowledge – this guy is an enigma. I don’t think I’ve ever spoken to someone who has seen Carl Cox for them to respond ‘that was average’; he delivers a spectacle of progressive, atmospheric beats to a crowd that come back, time and time again, to see him reign once again. To have him at the forefront of the Cocoon ship this year is a choice welcomed by many, and definitely a set that will be unmissable.
Cocoon in the Park returns to Temple Newsam on July 11th. For tickets, visit www.cocooninthepark.com.
With eight weeks to go until the Festival gates open, the line-up for the Alternative Stage at Reading & Leeds has been announced. Transgressive will be taking over Reading by bringing Dj-ing talent to a Silent Disco in the Alternative Stage courtesy of Alt J, Palma Violets,Peace and BBC Radio 1's Huw Stephens and Jen Long, which looks set to be nothing short of spectacular.
All of this sits alongside parties from Buttoned Down Disco and a series of extra special DJ sets from The Libertines’ Gary Powell and The Kooks’ Hugh Harris for Propaganda.

Just five short weeks ‘til they open the gates at Catton Park and the metal hoardes flood on to the hallowed turf for BLOODSTOCK 2015!
In celebration, BLOODSTOCK are releasing their day tickets at 9am on Wednesday 1st July. Tickets are priced at £60 each, plus booking fee and are available from http://www.seetickets.com/event/bloodstock-2015/catton-park/809956. If you can’t make it for the whole weekend, come join the metal party for just one day and catch one of 2015’s headliners, TRIVIUM, WITHIN TEMPTATION or ROB ZOMBIE, plus much, much more.
Following the success of 2014’s debut outing, BLOODSTOCK is delighted to announce that the Rock and Metal (RAM) Gallery will once again be part of the festival’s on-site attractions.
Showcasing a selection of art and memorabilia, the exhibition will expand on last year’s event and will feature work by BLOODSTOCK co-founder Paul Raymond Gregory, himself an acclaimed artist with an extensive body of work which includes many famous album sleeves and monolithic pieces inspired by the writings of JRR Tolkien.
Returning again this year is the amazing guitar maker/luthier, Cynosure. Working to re-define the guitar not just as a functional instrument, but as a working, playable piece of art, he will present several of his unique creations including the brand new RAM Guitar, specially commissioned by Paul Raymond Gregory. Click for more info at www.cynosureguitars.com/ or www.facebook.com/CynosureGuitars.
Renowned artist Mark Wilkinson will also have works on display. Mark is the mastermind behind many iconic albums sleeves for Marillion, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and The Darkness, amongst others. 2015 marks the 30th anniversary of Marillion’s iconic third album, ‘Misplaced Childhood’, so Mark’s inclusion in the gallery is especially timely. More of Mark’s work can be viewed at his website, www.the-masque.com.
Emphasizing the link between music, imagery and the written word, the exhibition will also feature the work of photographers and authors. Fiaz Farrelly and Alison Richards will both be displaying a selection of their dynamic rock photography, while Ramon Martos, author of ‘…And Justice For Art – Stories About Heavy Metal Album Covers’ and Alex Lewis, author of ‘J.R.R.Tolkien: Codemaker, Spy-master, Hero’, will also be represented. Ramon’s book tells the tales behind some of metal’s best-known album sleeves, while Alex’s work on Tolkien brings together Paul Raymond Gregory’s own Tolkien-inspired creations and the enormous influence that The Lord Of The Rings and Tolkien’s other writings have had on metal music.
More information on exhibitors is available at Paul’s website, www.studio54.co.uk.
Professionally hung, lit and housed in a specially constructed space, the exhibition marks a step in the long term goal of establishing a new permanent rock venue, with Paul returning to his roots as an artist & gallery owner in support of both art and music. The proposed venue in Derbyshire would include a live music space with bar, rehearsal and recording facilities, and a permanent exhibition space. A true hub for British rock and metal in the heart of the Midlands, the true birthplace of metal. Check out more on Paul’s idea here: www.studio54.co.uk/index.php/rock-and-metal-museum/
If you’re travelling to BLOODSTOCK by train, don’t forget to book your Big Green Coach shuttle bus tickets to get you & your camping gear from Lichfield City rail station to the festival site. Canadian rapper Drake finally made it back to London's Wireless Festival after a cancellation last year and it was well worth the wait! With the sun shining down on London's Finsbury Park and the crowd at full capacity, Drake wastes no time in getting into his new single Legend off his latest album 'If You're Reading This It's Too Late' and instantly reminded the crowd what they were missing. With vocals in full swing and the crowd bopping up and down, Drake trawls through his massive catalogue of tunes including, Trophies, We Made It, Crew Love, Tuesday, The Motto, Hold On Were Going Home, Started From the Bottom, Take Care, Energy and more!
In full swag mode and working the crowd into the palm of his hand, Drake connects with the fans by constantly reminding them of his love for London, his second home he pronounces. Covering the stage floor and giving the entire crowd love, Drake's showmanship is like no other! There is no ego, and its plain to see that he is as happy to be here as is the adorning crowd. With a set full of pyrotechnics and the stage transforming to a Jungle midway through, Drake is clearly in his element commanding the stage solo for the majority of his 80 minute performance.
All in all, it was quite a fitting end to what was brilliant day at the 10th anniversary of Wireless Festival, with Rita Ora, Katy B, Chance the Rapper & Public Enemy all playing amazing performances.

Citadel is London's brightest new festival, a day which looks set to encapsulate the perfect summer Sunday afternoon – bursting to the seams with live music, fine dining, debates, comedy, dancing, arts, craft, boutiques and much more.
From the creators of the award-winning multi-arts Wilderness Festival, Citadel boasts an impressive musical programming headlined by Ben Howard and Bombay Bicycle Club…however, the event looks set to offer much more than your standard music festival.
In between performances from the likes of Nick Mulvey and Neneh Cherry, duck in to the Sunday Papers Live, grab a Bloody Mary and nestle into a comfy sofa to listen to talks and debates from some of the UK's finest minds. Politician Tessa Jowell, activist Maajid Nawaaz, satirist Jolyon Rubinstein and journalist Ben Judah are amongst the speakers at the special edition of this much-loved gathering.
It wouldn't be the ultimate summer Sunday without a lazy lunch. Richard Turner (of Hawksmoor, Meatopia, Pitt Cue Co. fame) will host a series of lovingly crafted long table banquets with slow roast shoulder of lamb, chocolate tarts and crudités all on offer.
London's finest dining institutions will also be onsite to satisfy stomachs, and there's some-thing for everyone – from Le Bun's French-American cuisine to Constancia On The Road's Argentinian steaks – via Voodoo Ray's tasty pizzas. Wash it all down with cold beers from Meantime Brewery and Kozel.

Some of the best London comedians on the circuit will feature on the billing – from rising acts to esteemed performers. Expect to witness some real gems ahead of their Edinburgh performances as well as handpicked upcoming acts. You chuckled at them here first…
Make sure you pay a visit to the Park Bandstand, hosted by Continental Drifts and Global Local, which will feature a melting pot of traditional music, from folk ceilidhs to hoedowns. It's set to be an incredibly lively pocket of Citadel, with swing dancing, brass bands and sets from bands such as Perhaps Contraption, The Brass Funkeys and Cut A Shine.
Dust yourself off and get stuck into our Sunday Sports Day, which features nostalgic fa-vourites with a twist…think Musical Sack Races, Disco Dodgeball and Rum Relay Rac-es complete with cheerleaders, mascots and spoof medal ceremonies. You can also gath-er your friends and register for The Ultimate Victoria Park Volleyball Championships. Be warned, this is not your usual Sports Day…expect the unexpected, from theatrical pitch invasions to inebriated referees.
If you prefer your games more leisurely than lively, take in a spot of croquet, badminton and Giant Jenga whilst you sip a cocktail. It's the taking part that counts…
Your little ones are welcome at Citadel too…arrive early in the afternoon to make the most of family-friendly games in the Park. From 12-2, the Rock ’N Roller Disco will host a Kid’s Disco, and from 12-2 the brilliant Arcola Theatre will host a Kid’s Sports Day, with sack races, space hoppers and much more.
