Darius Syrossian, Shogun Audio, Whipping with Mele, T57 + Zero, Luuk Van Dijk, Yousef and more to perform
Key to each party is the club’s subtle but immersive lighting but also the famous VOID sound system. It is perfectly tuned and tweaked to suit the venue and delivers every hi hat and kick drum as intended. The club is famously warm with exploded brick, an up close and personal DJ booth and crowds who know their music. For that reason, it offers a superior small club experience where tight connections are made between music, dancers and artists every night.
This run is another one that looks firmly to the cutting edge of house and techno with the return of Darius Syrossian’s Moxy Muzik party on Feb 4th. This one routinely sells out. On Friday 3rd, March when he plays an extended three-hour set, expect another masterclass. On Friday 10th February, the bass bins will be tested by their Shogun Audio crew and Pol & Bryson, Duskee and Monroe, then Venus Classics will bring the good times on the 11th; raw house specialist Mele plays Whip with a special guest on Friday 17th, T57 + Zero stop in as part of their UK tour on the 18th and after an All Night Long session from Luuk Van Dijk on the 24th, Circus founder and all-around scene figurehead Yousef play a special three-hour set.
Into March before Free From Sleep rolls in on Saturday 4th, with Ilan Bluestone seeing up his mesmeric melodic grooves. Friday the 10th is the always colourful Horse Meat Disco with Supernature DJs and more, and on Saturday the 11th, the local, new school hero that is Kaluki, DFTD, and Repopulate Mars associate Mason Maynard takes his place in the JBs basement.
Friday, the 17th, is the first of three consecutive All Night Long parties – the first with bass house queen Hannah Wants, the second on Saturday 18th, with longtime Fuse resident and dub house and garage-techno man Seb Zito and the third on Friday, the 24th with Dundee’s party starter Hannah Laing. The night after, it’s the fast-rising Max Dean, and the month ends with another three-hour special from Amsterdam’s slick house innovator and PIV artist Toman on the 31st of March.
Highlights in April include Just Snack with Mele and more, Rebuke, Fleur Shore, and Nick Warren all playing their one All Night Long parties, the monthly Moxy Muzik party, a set from Sam Divine, Whippin’ with The Mason Collective, Full Circle with Route 94, Retro with Paul Taylor and K-Klass and more.
There is nowhere in the country that offers an underground experience as authentic as Joshua Brooks, so get down for this next fine month of parties.

Boomtown, the 66,000 capacity festival set in the Hampshire hills, has launched its official trailer for the latest offering in their immersive storyline, Chapter Two: The Twin Trail. This can be viewed on YouTube below:
The festival takes place for five days from August 9th 2023, and is famed for its film-like sets, winding streets and high production stages and shows.
The Twin Trail follows on from last years’ Chapter One: The gathering, where the festival defined a new era after two years of cancellations. In the characteristically cinematic trailer, attendees are invited to follow the journey of The Twin Trail, which delves deeper into how a person interacts with themselves, and how they give back to the world.
Megan Clifton, Head of Narrative Design at Boomtown, said:
“Boomtown is known for satirically mimicking the society we live in, and too often our dystopian visions have come closer to reality than we ever imagined possible. With The Twin Trail, we wish to go deeper and turn our focus inwards.
“The Twin Trail represents the two paths we all have to walk in our lives; the inner and the outer path. Without addressing our inner world, learning and accepting every part of ourselves – even the darker parts – how can we address the darker parts of society?
“We know that we have an opportunity to use the fun, interactive and immersive experiences we offer to enable actual shifting of mindsets, real-world change, and for people to take something that they learnt at Boomtown home with them.”
After the success of withholding the musical line-up until shortly before the show in 2022, Boomtown will be keeping this under wraps once again, but its ‘citizens’ can expect to see some of the biggest names in hip-hop, plus worldwide artists spanning the electronic spectrum. They have already been leaving clues as to what to expect in a recent video update.
Max Golfar, Music Programmer at Boomtown, said:
“We’ll be bringing the freshest acts in post-punk, to the dons of the reggae world, through to disco divas and afrobeat royalty. As well as all of this, next year marks 50 years of hip-hop. It’s going to be insane.”
Boomtown is at the Matterley Estate in Hampshire, 9th-13th August 2022. Instalment plan tickets are available from £45.
