Taking place from 7th to 10th July with 4 days of hot Serbian sunshine reaching temperatures of 30 degrees and endless blue skies, EXIT was the perfect festival holiday destination. By day – spending time leisurely cafe hopping in the picturesque city of Novi Sad, or splashing around in the River Danube on the beach at the EXIT Village to keep cool. And by night - over 45,000 people partied at the festival to see headline artists such as; Arcade Fire, Pulp. Editors, M.I.A, Santigold, Portishead and Grinderman. Saturday was sold out for Jamiroquai’s show and the festival celebrated its 2 millionth visitor!
Wowing the crowds, Editors were ecstatic – “We went up to the festival as punters the day before our show and felt it was the most fantastic place to watch live music. When we finally played the following night, the crowd, the view and the atmosphere were even more perfect. Exit is a special place!”
While the legendary Dance Arena once again proved why it is one of the best in the world for electronic music fans with its incredible energy and an awe inspiring backdrop set in the moat of the 17th Century fortress walls. Artists such as Underworld, Deadmau5, Groove Armada, Fedde le Grand, DJ Sneak had the 20,000 strong crowd in the palm of their hands and sunrise was the perfect setting for the likes of Joris Voorn, Better Lost than Stupid, Rebel Rave and local hero’s Marco Nastic, Dejan Milicevic and Marko Miloslajvevic closing set.
“EXIT for me was, from start to finish, the perfect festival. I’ve always heard so much about it, always wanted to play there to see what it was like for myself, if it really lived up to all the hype. It was just one of the most enjoyable sets I’ve played personally as a DJ and as a music fan myself, the atmosphere was among the best in the world and the vibe and venue, they were something really unique that I haven’t experienced anywhere else. Hands down, one of my top 10 experiences so far, without a doubt”. Fedde le Grand
With 20 stages of various musical genres the atmosphere throughout was telling – there was even a zip line running through the night, a 3D stage and the view from the VIP terrace was breathtaking. But it would not be anything without the unique energy that is you – the festival go-ers! Hands down to you! Exit 2011 was indeed a truly inspiring event!!
Leading international TV channels were there to capture the essence of the festival that has been deemed one of the best in the world! Airing soon, more info to be released, be sure to catch it.
“The best festival ever on the planet, there’s none better.” Bad Religion
“We heard of Exit festival 5 years ago when Franz Ferdinand told us we must try and play it. Our headlining slot 5 years later lived up to all our expectations and more, it was a great moment when the crowd and band have that perfect link on what was a perfect evening. We hope to come again to the fortress of dreams..” Editors
“I had so much fun at Exit! It was great to be in Serbia for the first time. And to be back in front of an audience with a new band, new costumes, and NEW SONGS!” Santigold

One of the best and nicest festivals we ever played. Exit definitely deserves its high ranking in the international festival world” Kraak & Smaak
“We had an epic time at Exit this year, definitely one of the highlights of our summer season. The festival has a feel unlike any other festivals we have played, the all-nighter atmosphere and heat makes it quite something else. One of the top 5 best festivals in the world no doubt.’ Thank you Exit.” Hadouken!

Festibelly said ‘New Young Pony Club are an incredible band, not only on record but on stage too. Lead singer Ty is an amazing performer and totally captivating to watch. They’re a perfect headline act for Festibelly, with sing-along pop anthems to disco dance-floor fillers. We’re honoured to have them and pretty ruddy excited to see them in action on the Festibelly stage!’.
The punk-pop disco-rockers achieved massive international success in 2007 with hits such as ‘Ice Cream‘ and ‘The Bomb’taken from debut album ‘Fantastic Playroom. 2010 saw the release of second album ‘The Optimist’ which the NME described as “liquid nitrogen-fuelled pure pop genius”. An album full of beautifully crafted, edgier and darker disco-pop songs, it signified a dazzling progression of the bands sound, with tracks such as ‘Lost A Girl’, ‘Chaos’ and ‘We Want To’ establishing New Young Pony Club as one of the most credible and exciting bands in the UK.
Also set to make an appearance at the festival is the legendary Howard Marks, aka Mr Nice. Howard will be joining for an intimate story-telling session with tales from his extraordinary past.
Other additions include long time Festibelly-favourite James Yuill (DJ), wondrous melody-makers Channel Swimmer,Figures (James Delay & Jamie Blanco), Francis Day and more.

AREAS:
Massive In China
Like a rabbit in a raincoat in a box, Festibelly goers will be in for a surprise when they draw aside the curtains of the brand new Massive In China tent – a kaleidoscope of wrong cabaret and stand-up comedy, musically delightful soft to weird acoustic melodies, a bit of boombastic over to the light fantastic. Or get a bit vintage-crafty whilst watching circus performance and getting involved in a wonky gameshow or magic-not-magic act.
The Nest
A new treetop stage nestled amongst the giant oaks of the Festi-forest. Fear of Theydon will be curating a line-up that befits the mystical setting with luscious sounds of cosmic, disco and Balearic goodness pulsing through the trees.
Le Disco
Featuring everything from dubstep to disco, a full line-up of electronic acts will feature throughout the day and night. Taking it into the early hours Le Disco Silence will be catering for all the night owls.
Terrapin Station
An alternative to the main stage the Terrapin Station combines flavours of acoustic, folk, gypsy and jazz and is home to the notorious Festibelly Folk Off – the signer/songwriter competition where the discerning crowd will cast their vote and crown one lucky contestant Folk King/Queen, winning themselves an opening slot on the main stage for 2012.
Autumn Shift
Following up on their debut Festibelly appearance last year, Autumn Shift will be setting up to provide all manner of musical delights as well as their cosy café, live poetry, painting and massages should you be wanting to unwind after a hard day’s party.
Amazing Radio
Broadcasting live from the Festibelly site, the Amazing Radio team will be providing as-it-happens coverage of the festival, live sessions and interviews and all the latest news and info in the run up to the event.
