As well as blues, country, electro fusion outfit Alabama 3 and the final edition to the bill is legendary Jamaican ska institution The Skatalites, if any one band could be attributed to brining the genre out of its homeland and to the masses, it’s this ever evolving line-up of ska stalwarts! These newly announced acts will be joining the hundreds of artists already announced including headliners The Cat Empire, NOFX, Jimmy Cliff, The Wailers, Tinariwen and Bellowhead.

Quote from Augustines

We are super proud to be playing the BBC 6Music tent at Latitude festival this year. We've spent many months improving our live show so expect some nice surprises! Festivals are very unique and each one has their own little charm. Latitude 2012 was really fun for us. Not only was it slightly humorous to see the pink sheep wandering around but we all enjoyed the quaint little boat ride which we were privileged to take to get us to the stage. The great thing about Latitude is it’s vibe. It’s a big festival but there is a great sense of community and intimacy. Hopefully the weather will be as glorious as it was the last time. If you see us walking around, come and say hello…. if not, we’ll see you down the front.

Quote from Chrissie Hynde

“Latitude is turning into one of the great British festivals. The site and the atmosphere really make it a very special weekend, so of course I am particularly looking forward to playing there this year. When The Pretenders played there in 2009 it was amazing and this year should be even better. I’m very happy to be back!”

More additions for London’s South West Four

Following W&W’s jaw-dropping headline performance at The Gallery’s Nineteenth Birthday, we are thrilled to announce that the emphatic duo’s next London performance will be at South West Four. After last year’s Common assault on one of our indoor arenas, it was evident the W&W sound was too big for any tarpaulin to contain! In 2014 the Dutch masterminds will take to our hallowed main stage for the first time for another unforgettable onslaught of their melodic yetheavy-hitting sound. SW4 will also be Willem and Wardt’s final London performance of the year, adding to the magnitude of an already momentous occasion.

As the undisputed Kings of Egypt, Aly & Fila have become synonymous with their unique sound, a construction of robust bass lines embedded with tough yet melodically beautiful synths. By leading the mind and soul into a state of euphoria, Aly & Fila have fast become firm favourites at The Gallery, Ministry of Sound’s weekly club night, and for endless fans worldwide. Following Fadi’s superb performance at our tenth anniversary last year, it became clear that Aly & Fila would be returning in 2014 to entertain another capacity crowd. With South West Four marked as their next performance in the Capital, clubbers will unite and arms will raise as Aly & Fila stun Clapham Common once again.

Found at the forefront of DJ brilliance is the master of high energy, tech-driven trance sounds, Subculture boss John O’Callaghan. His relentless appetite for success, flawless production ability and precision mixing, helped establish himself as one of the trance community’s greatest talents. By combining the most uplifting melodies with dominating bass lines, John has earned his position amongst the trance elite, yet he continues to impress the electronic world with releases on Armada, Lange Recordings and his own illustrious Subculture imprint. As an Ibizan regular at Cream and A State of Trance, we can’t wait for John O’Callaghan to bring the sunshine to Clapham Common once again this August.

A leading talent in the rapidly-growing trance scene, Andrew Rayel’s orchestral background enables him to produce some of the most encapsulating and prolific sounds of recent times. After finding a secure home for his productions in the A State of Trance and Armind labels, it’s clear to see why he has been welcomed into the trance family with open arms. With studio abilities superseding many twice his age, Andrew has remixed the likes of Armin van Buuren, Markus Schulz, Tiësto, W&W and Tenishia to name a few. After spreading his sound across the globe with performances at Kazantip, Global Gathering, Ministry of Sound in addition to multiple ASOT dates, this Clapham Common appearance represents a mouth-watering SW4 debut.

Another act flourishing in the countdown to their South West Four debut is Ukranian DJ and producer Omnia. Having already made waves as a festival rocking DJ in his homeland, Omnia has recently transformed himself into a breakoutand in-demand producer on a global scale, especially after dropping a devastating series of releases that have included several Beatport #1s. Leading the charge of an evident Eastern European takeover, Omnia’s past twelve monthsinclude notable festival highlights such as Global Gathering, Ultra, A State Of Trance 600 plus Summadayze (Australia), as well as club destroying performances at Ministry Of Sound, Zouk, Papaya, Privilege and Eden. South West Fourplease welcome Omnia.

After signing to Spinnin’ Records aged just seventeen, the world’s eyes have been firmly placed on the next big move of Oliver Heldens. After impressing the label with his phenomenal potential, Spinnin’ signed him exclusively in 2013, making him one of electronic music’s most exciting new prospects. Last year also marked the biggest release of his career to date, with ‘Gecko’ reaching #2 in Beatport’s Top 100 chart. Having developed an outlet that bridges the gap between big-room listeners and the underground community, Heldens’ deep and techy sounds have added a new dimension to the often tunnelled world of electronic music. Add into the mix a rework of Martin Garrix’s ‘Animals’ which was heavily supported by NERVO, Knife Party, Zedd and Porter Robinson and you have another SW4 debut you simply cannot afford to miss.

South West Four 2014 will also feature the pairing of two trance forces for a highly anticipated back-to-back battle. Formed by Will Holland and Estiva, this clash will see the pair display an unprecedented level of technical prowess as they deliver a set crammed with sought after electronic sounds. As the man behind the modern trance monolith that is Enhanced Music, Will Holland has seen his profile grow enormously through unrivalled residencies at Wildchild andGatecrasher before teaming up with Digital Society to become one of the genres most influential figures. With Dutch powerhouse Estiva also landing at SW4 for the very first time, his flair for beautiful melodic trance will go hand in hand with his opposite number for an early afternoon session of sun kissed sounds.

King Charles, Ibibio Sound Machine and more added to Standon Calling lineup

Standon Calling today reveals additions not just to the live line-up but also the DJ offering for 2014’s festival, 1st – 3rd August in Hertfordshire. Regular and fan-favourite King Charles will be present yet again on stage, whilst the eclectically-eared Giles Peterson takes to the decks.

Newcomers Ibibio Sound Machine will bring a heady cocktail to Standon Calling’s live stage, infusing West-African funk and disco with modern post-punk and electro, a no doubt intoxicating affair. In contrast Fat White Family promise a raucous and often provocative rock n’ roll as one might expect from six young squatters of South London.

Across Standon Calling’s Big Top and Cowshead stages DJs including electro pioneer Felix Da Housecat lead the charge into the twilight hours. Disco / re-edit scene favourite Greg Wilson, alumni of The Hacienda will also be heading to Hertfordshire as will hip hop turntablist and scratch master, DJ Yoda. From 80s warehouse parties to modern-day DJ royalty the next name cued up for the festival will be none other than Norman Jay MBE. Jay is a renowned house music DJ whose crate confidently veers into many sounds including jazz-funk and soul.

Back on the live stages and also returning to the festival is post-rock outfit Revere, boasting their own string section. East London might be lacking in coalmines but thanks to Hackney Colliery Band it does have a vibrant funk, hip-hop and high-octane rock inspired brass band. The group performed at the London 2012 Olympics Closing Ceremony so should have little trouble rousing the boutique-sized party that is Standon Calling. Long-standing poetic rock trio The Wave Pictures are next up alongside alternative quartet Flyte. Ska-punk will be on offer in the form of Imperial Leisure and N-A-I-V-E-S are set to serve up anglo/french electro-pop sounds. Last but by no means least for the live side of Standon Calling are locals Maddox.

For night owls the festival’s dance music line-up expands further with the Lana-Del-Ray-remixing Asadinho, alternative urban heavyweight DJ Format and duo Heavy Hz, formed of playlister.fm’s Dan Lywood and Ben Bridgewater.

David Guetta will headline this year’s Tennent’s Vital on bank holiday weekend Sunday 24th August. He’ll be joined by fellow dance music icon Steve Angello. Bringing the atmosphere of some of the world’s biggest superclubs to Boucher Road Playing Fields, Tennent’s Vital fans are in for an unforgettable night of electronic music over the August bank holiday weekend.

Having recently headlined Ultra Music Festival in Miami, as well as securing a coveted new residency in Las Vegas, 2014 is already shaping up to be a landmark year for the prolific David Guetta. With numerous Top 10 singles, over 40 million fans on Facebook and 1 million UK sales of Titanium under his belt, he recently performed on the Great Wall of China and won the first ever Billboard award for Top EDM Artist. He scored another top ten hit with his recent single Shot Me Down, and with his 6th studio album due for release at the end of August, Tennent’s Vitalfans can expect to enjoy the freshest new dance anthems on Sunday 24th August.

A pioneer of the Stockholm underground turned icon of the global dance music scene, Steve Angello will also feature on the bill. From the billboard charts to the club floor, Angello is firmly at the top of his game having taken the reigns at famous stages across the globe. He boasts annual residencies for Ibiza’s most prestigious night spots, and recently joined BBC Radio 1’s impressive Residency line-up.
