Rita Ora added to Sundown Festival lineup

Rita Ora rocketed to fame in 2012 with more #1 singles in the UK Singles Chart than any other artist last year, with singles Hot Right NowHow We Do (Party) and R.I.P from her debut album Ora all hitting the top spot.

Rita joins the already confirmed and previously announced line-up of main stage headliners Jessie J and Example, along with JLS and DJ Fresh, with Rinse and Hospitality hosting Stage 2

Sundown Festival spokesperson, Dion Clements comments: “Being able to announce we’ve added the amazing Rita Ora to the line-up at Sundown Festival 2013, along with Jessie J, Example, JLS and DJ Fresh having already been announced, is just awesome! Rita’s another big artist who brings a real buzz with her”

Jessie J and Example to headline Sundown Festival

Example will headline the main stage on Saturday, back by massive demand after the KickstartsChanged the Way you Kissed Me and Say Nothing singer whipped-up the crowd to huge acclaim at Sundown’s inaugural festival in 2011

DJ Fresh – the man behind hit dance tracks Gold DustLouder and Hot Right Now – is the second artist to be confirmed for Saturday’s main stage line-up

Jessie J

Sunday’s main stage headliner is none other than one of the biggest female singers in the UK today… the sensational Jessie J is coming to Sundown Festival 2013! The Do it Like a Dude, Who’s Laughing Now and Nobody’s Perfect singer – whoseDomino video has racked up more than 100million views on video sharing site YouTube – has been repeatedly called for, by Sundown Festival audiences, to perform at the huge end-of-summer event

Also announced for Sunday’s main stage is the biggest UK boyband of a generation, JLS, whose hits like She Makes Me WannaHottest Girl in the World and Beat Again have seen the four-piece capture the hearts of millions across the UK

Sundown Festival 2013 will see the addition of a second outdoor stage, Stage 2, which will provide a House, Garage, Dubstep and Drum ‘n’ Bass edge to the event. Hosting that stage on Saturday will be Moda Black, whose top house tracks Knee Deep in LouiseHurt You and the aptly titled Sundown have firmly established them as one of the UK’s most exciting record labels for progressive electronic music

Hospitality, the live event arm of hugely successful Drum ‘n’ Bass label Hospitality records – which itself is home to artists such as High Contrast, Netsky, Danny Byrd and Camo & Krooked – will host Stage 2 on Sunday

Sundown Festival spokesperson, Dion Clements comments: “With the huge strides taken by Sundown Festival in quickly establishing itself as one of the UK’s best live music events to end the summer season, Sundown 2013 is set to expand even further on previous years. Example absolutely smashed it as part of the line-up two years ago, to the extent we all felt a little bad for the artist that followed in the running order… so this time he will headline the first full day of Sundown. Jessie J has been the single most requested artist, by Sundown fans, yet to appear, so we’re absolutely ecstatic about bringing her to the Sundown main stage to headline the Sunday”

Dion adds “With our unique mixed offering of the top urban, pop and dance acts, Sundown caters for a massive range of tastes in the music spectrum, bringing together a truly diverse music audience for one huge weekend

Wiley announced for Sundown

Wiley is one of the few current artistes to successfully straddle both the commercial mainstream – with hits like Wearing My Rolex,Never Be Your Woman and the UK Singles Chart #1 hit Heatwave – and the UK’s thriving Underground scene, having risen through the ranks as a top MC and maintained his appeal with Grime clubbers, while his 10-minute freestyle session for Radio 1’s Westwood show is almost legendary, having notched up millions of views on video-sharing website YouTube

Wiley’s first began MC-ing over garage and jungle tracks for pirate radio stations, before becoming one part of several ‘crews’, including Pay As U Go who scored a hit in 2002 with Champagne Dance. He later formed the Roll Deep collective, along with the likes of Dizzee Rascal and Tinchy Stryder, when they moved away from the accepted UK Garage sound towards a new sound of ‘dirtier beats’ which would later become termed as Grime

With his own record label, Wiley is said to have played a major role in the early careers of several of today’s stars, including Dizzee, Tinchy and Chipmunk

Sundown Festival spokesman, Dion Clements comments: “Wiley is an outstanding talent of the urban music scene. Highly respected in both the underground and mainstream markets, Wiley has not only carved out his own career, but had a hand in the development of other artists, several of which performed at last year’s festival, so both we (the organisers) and the audience at Sundown should be honoured to have the Godfather of Grime come and perform our Main Stage this year”

The whole festival is now shaped to smash last year’s ticket sales, with few tickets remaining as music lovers of all genres jump at the chance to see the likes of Olly Murs, Katy B, Pixie Lott, Diana Vickers, Loveable Rogues, Stooshe, Zane Lowe, Ms Dynamite, Sub Focus, Delilah, Dot Rotten, Labrinth and headliners Chase & Status Live are all rock the Main Stage over the two-day festival, with Stage 2 playing host to the likes of Feed Me Live, Radio 1/1Xtra’s Mista Jam, Funtcase, Zinc, Wilkinson and 16 Bit, presented by UKF on Saturday 1 September, and dance brand KISS will present headliner David Rodigan MBE, Sway Live, EZ, Shortee Blitz, MJ Cole and Charlie Hedges on Stage 2 for the Sunday night

Also recently announced to perform at the East of England’s most progressive music event are rising stars Ria Ritchie, Josh Osho, Parade and Intensi-T, along with Live & Unsigned winners CoCo and the Butterfields, Hatty Keane and Molly Smitten-Downes

In addition, one of the biggest model agencies in the world, NEXT Models – who represent supermodels Arizona Muse and Karlie Kloss, as well as talent including Professor Green – is set to deploy an army of talent scouts to the event later this summer to look for new faces

‘Weekenders’ (Campers) will also be able to enjoy a pre-event party, on Friday 31 August, with an exclusive, intimate set by renowned DJ, Jaguar Skills, late that night in the Warehouse, as well as being treated to further exclusive after-show parties in the Warehouse, performed by B Traits and Breakage on the Saturday night, and RATPACK on the Sunday night

A popular TV programme has also confirmed they are set to film at Norfolk’s biggest music of the year; Channel 4’s Battlefront will be filming at Sundown for the second year in a row, as they campaign to combat youth unemployment.

Josh Osho & Parade set for Sundown Festival

Newly announced for the Main Stage line-up on Saturday 1 September, are Josh Osho and girlband Parade

Josh Osho is about to make one big name for himself with the forthcoming release (on 25 July) of his collaboration with Ghostface Killah, Redemption Days. An inherently gifted singer-songwriter who has one of the finest pop/soul voices to emerge from the UK in years, Josh’s life-story is packed full of the stuff films are made of; in and out of home at 16, dealing drugs from a notorious half-way house (Ebeneezer Hotel) at 17, signing a record deal at 18 and finding himself recording with two members of the Wu Tang Clan at 19. It is true to say Josh’s life really was saved, from a darker route, by music.

Josh Osho

Parade comprises five exceptionally talented singers – Emily, Lauren, Bianca, Jessica and Sian – with one very clear mission statement; to set the pop world on fire as members of incredible girlband PARADE.

Formed away from the media gaze of a TV talent show, the girls have been working from the ground up, supporting a wealth of established names including, in 2011 alone, Shakira, Alexandra Burke, Black Eyed Peas, Westlife, Boyzone and Shayne Ward. Earlier this year they joined The Wanted on their massive arena tour and also performed at T4OTB, Wireless Festival, the Isle of Wight Festival, MTV Isle of Malta, T In The Park, V Festival and Leeds Pride

Amassing a loyal base of 40,000 Twitter followers and 30,000 Facebook likes, Parade stormed into the UK charts in 2011 with their debut single ‘Louder’, an infectious pop tune that glided into the Top 10 and accumulated more than 2.3 million views on YouTube. Follow-up ‘Perfume’ was another smash hit and also notched up a seven-figure play count online

New to the Main Stage line-up on Sunday 2 September is Intensi-T, an artist whose skill which must be seen to be believed; very much understated but extraordinarily vocal with heavy, hard hitting electro-pop beats fused with thumping bass-lines, all bellowing from his vocal cords, with just a mic and a loop pedal. Intensi-T’s stock is rising fast having recently performed with Ed Sheeran, opened for Boys II Men at the O2, collaborated with Rizzle Kicks and Sway, as well as at the Guernsey Festival and with Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts at T4’s T on the Beach event

With Olly Murs, Katy B, Pixie Lott, Diana Vickers, Stooshe, Zane Lowe, Ms Dynamite, Sub Focus, Delilah, Dot Rotten, Labrinth and headliners Chase & Status Live rocking the Main Stage over the two-day festival and with Stage 2 playing host to the likes of Feed Me Live, Radio 1/1Xtra’s Mista Jam, Funtcase, Zinc, Wilkinson and 16 Bit, presented by UKF on Saturday 1 September, dance brand KISS will present headliner David Rodigan MBE, Sway Live, EZ, Shortee Blitz, MJ Cole and Charlie Hedges on Stage 2 for the Sunday night

In addition to the line-up of top music stars performing at the festival, one of the biggest, most successful model agencies in the world, NEXT Models – who represent supermodels Arizona Muse and Karlie Kloss, as well as talent including Professor Green – is set to deploy an army of talent scouts to the event later this summer

This year, ‘Weekenders’ (Campers) will also be able to enjoy a pre-event party, on Friday 31 August, with an exclusive, intimate set by renowned DJ, Jaguar Skills, late that night in the Warehouse, as well as being treated to further exclusive after-show parties in the Warehouse, performed by B Traits and Breakage on the Saturday night, and RATPACK on the Sunday night

Sundown Festival spokesman, Dion Clements comments: “The latest additions to the line-up are fast rising artists in their own right, making a real name for themselves on this year’s festival circuit and we’re pleased to be a part of that growth, offering music fans a real chance to see these artists before many people may have even heard of them”

Sundown Festival: Exclusive content for Weekenders & VIPs

This year, the event’s gates will be opened to ‘Weekenders’ on Friday 31 August to pitch tents ahead of the Main Stage festivities and enjoy a pre-event party with an exclusive, intimate set by renowned DJ, Jaguar Skills, later that night in the Warehouse

‘Weekenders’ will then be able to join the masses for the star-studded line-up on the Main Stage and Stage 2 on Saturday 1 & Sunday 2 September, before being treated to further exclusive after-show parties in the Warehouse, performed by B Traits and Breakage on the Saturday night, and RATPACK on the Sunday night

Jaguar Skills

Jaguar Skills’ identity is one of the best kept secrets in clubland – opting to wear a ninja-mask at every performance – but his stock and profile have risen dramatically over the past 10 years. Revered for having entirely produced and edited a mix-CD on two mini-disk Walkmen back in 2002, Jag Skills went on to a residency at Jade Jagger’s Jezebel nights at Pacha in Ibiza and quickly progressed to DJ other Jezebel events across the globe. He now has a 10-minute mix slot on Trevor Nelson’s Saturday evening BBC Radio 1 show, having been a part of Radio 1’s ‘In New DJs We Trust’.

B Traits and Breakage are hard to categorise with a specific definition of their sound, both busting genres wide-open, with B Traits clearly influenced by old school rave, Jungle, hip hop, 90s house and UK Funky, with her recent UK Chart Single, Fever, also featuring garage vocals by Elisabeth Troy, whereas Breakage is a drum and bass/dubstep producer and DJ, evidently inspired by the original 90s Jungle Sound, Reggae and Dancehall. Both are highly respected on the club scene and both will be performing for ‘Weekenders’ only, on the Saturday night of the Sundown Festival

RATPACK are DJ Lipmaster Mark & MC Evenson Allen who joined forces back in 1985 at the birth of the warehouse/rave scene and are still standing strong 25 years later. Having worked together, with Mark doing beats over Evenson's sets, they quickly moved into the Acid House craze in 1989 which saw the Pack take a new direction

First by running their own local warehouse parties and then, when a DJ didn't turn up for his set Mark got on the decks and Evenson started to hype the crowd by singing and MCing – something which was a Taboo in those days- they unknowingly became the UK Rave Scene's first DJ/MC team, a combination which has taken them all over the World to tear up many a Dance Floor, bringing a collection of styles including House, Break-beat, Drum&Bass and Dub-step

With Olly Murs, Pixie Lott, Alexandra Stan, Stooshe, Katy B, Zane Lowe, Ms Dynamite, Sub Focus, Dot Rotten, Labrinth and headliners Chase & Status Live rocking the Main Stage over the two-day festival and with Stage 2 playing host to the likes of Feed Me Live, Radio 1/1Xtra’s Mista Jam, Funtcase, Zinc, Wilkinson and 16 Bit, presented by UKF on Saturday 1 September, it has now been announced that dance brand KISS will present headliner David Rodigan MBE, Sway Live, EZ, Shortee Blitz, MJ Cole and Charlie Hedges on Stage 2 for the Sunday night

Sundown Festival spokesman, Dion Clements comments: “For this year’s Sundown Festival we wanted to add extra incentive for people to come to Norfolk, spend the whole weekend and enjoy the full package of music on offer. I think we’ve over-achieved in that goal, with the After-Show Warehouse parties being more than just an incentive; they are events in their own rights. Jag Skills performs at almost every major festival in the UK, and now tours the global circuit… he’s club royalty! We’re also honoured to have B Traits, Breakage and RATPACK performing sets on subsequent nights. I would expect Weekenders to be prepared for very little sleep and some hardcore partying over the three days”

Sundown Festival announces KISS Stage 2

Sundown Festival spokesman, Dion Clements comments: “As we had previously announced, this year’s second stage, or Stage 2, is going to be much more dance led than last year. The Saturday night, as we know, will have a strong emphasis on Bass music, and now we’re able to announce that the Sunday night will focus on a mix of House, Garage and Reggae, with some of the biggest club DJs mixing it up under the KISS brand. Bringing the likes of David Rodigan MBE, EZ and MJ Cole to Norfolk just pushed the boundaries of the festival, and its appeal, even further“

It was also recently announced that the global NEXT Model Management will be sending scouts to the festival to search for ‘new faces’

The festival will take place at the Norfolk Showground on Saturday 1 & Sunday 2 September.
