After its initial success in 2014, Sea You ‘Beach Republic’ continues to sell out each year, drawing ravers from all around the world to its undeniably scenic lakeside location in Tunisee, just outside Freiburg. This year’s edition takes place on 18th + 19th July, with seven stages again featuring some of the scene’s foremost house and techno talents.
The line-up features a host of esteemed DJs and live acts such as Eats Everything, Matador, Fisher, Maceo Plex, Amelie Lens, Giorgia Angiuli, Lexy & K-Paul, Paul Kalkbrenner and Reinier Zonneveld, while the likes of Boris Brejcha, Claptone, Kid Simius, Kobosil, Marika Rossa, Mausio, Monika Kriuse, Neelix and Younotus are equally likely to attract passionate ravers from across the globe.
Spread over a whopping seven stages and featuring over 100 artists, Sea You Beach Republic will also feature a chillout area, numerous water activities on the lake (incl. free water-skiing and wake-boarding options) as well as a fashion & beauty lounge. What’s more, the beautiful Lake Tunisee (with Germany’s famous Black Forrest in the background) is sure to prove a perfect accompaniment to the top class sounds on offer. Sundown Festival is storming into 2020, announcing its first names for what promises to be the festival’s biggest year yet. Heading back to Norfolk Showground in Norwich across three days this September and following a mammoth 2019, this year’s event looks set to close the summer in style, with camping, weekend and day tickets on sale this Friday.
Known as one of the world’s biggest party starters, the unstoppable Sean Paul is one of two headliners to be announced for Sundown 2020. Arguably the most iconic dancehall artist of all time, the crossover superstar will be treating Norwich to an unforgettable headline set, with the arena set to shake to the likes of ‘Get Busy’, ‘Temperature’, ‘Breathe’ and legendary features including ‘Rockabye’, ‘Cheap Thrills’, ‘Boasty’ and many more. Needless to say, this is going to be one of the biggest moments of the summer.
One of the leading voices in confessional hip hop, award-winning UK rapper-turned-superstar Loyle Carner is guaranteed to bring an electrifying headline set to Sundown Festival. With expert craftsmanship and remarkable lyrical resonance, not to mention hits for days across his two studio albums, Carner has become one of the hottest festival bookings of the past few years, with his headline performance looking set to be nothing short of spectacular.
Bringing her smooth reinvention of turn-of-the-century Soul, R&B and British pop music, Sundown Festival is delighted to welcome Raye to the Main Stage in 2020. Forging her path in the UK pop scene, the soon-to-be superstar will treat fans to hits including ‘You Don’t Know Me’, ‘Decline’ and countless others. Also joining the Main Stage line up will be superstar in waiting Becky Hill, whose recent smash ‘Wish You Well’ has stormed into the charts, ready to go off when Sundown comes around this September.
Joining these pop sensations at Sundown Festival will be Fredo and Bugzy Malone who took 2019 by storm with an expert mix of vital and refreshing cuts, with the latter setting pulses racing after his recent collaboration with Aitch, while Fredo and Dave’s ‘Funky Friday’ defined summer 2019. Famed for master lyricism, their infectious jams will be perfect at this summer’s closing extravaganza. Meanwhile, Jay1 and Jaykae will be bringing Midlands-infused grime to the masses, and the main stage will be hosted by KISS all weekend.
BBC Sound Of winner Ray BLK will also appear on Sundown’s main stage, and dance legend Example will return to Sundown with unforgettable classics ‘Changed The Way You Kissed Me’ ‘Kickstarts’ and more, a firm favourite of the festival. The Manor and Wilkinson will also bless the main stage with their presence, with more names to be announced.
In addition to a huge Main Stage lineup, Sundown Festival will continue to provide a haven of genre-defying performances from the very best in drum and bass, house and techno.
The Friday Campers Party will feature Holy Goof, Hybrid Minds and Young T & Bugsey. Taking over the Castle Stage, Defected will be in attendance with the full crew plus special guests Sam Divine, Low Steppa, Ferreck Dawn, Endor and Jess Bays.
Building on previous collaborations at the festival, renowned bass leaders UKF will see the iconic Shy Fx, party starters My Nu Leng, dubstep legend Flux Pavillion, Notion, Bou and Harriet Jaxxon take to the stage for what promises to be a legendary takeover.

Ultra Music Festival officially announced that the 2020 edition will be postponed till 2021, effectively cancelling this years event.

It is with a heavy heart that we inform you that The City of Miami has issued an official directive requiring that the 22nd edition of Ultra Music Festival, originally scheduled for March 20, 21 and 22, 2020 will be postponed to March 26, 27 and 28, 2021. Due to the Florida Governor’s declaration of a public health emergency and Centers of Disease Control and Prevention’s Interim Guidance for COVID-19, it is impossible for the City to provide access to Bayfront Park at this time.
We completely understand how extremely frustrating this is because so many of you are looking forward to coming to Ultra, having already made travel arrangements.
This is, however, an unprecedented issue which is not being taken lightly, and we must continue to defer to the authorities for guidance. Ultimately, there is no higher priority for us than the health, safety and physical well-being of each of you, together with everyone else involved in the production of the event.

Wednesday February 26th (a rather chilly evening), well known venue Cambridge junction welcomed Canadian musician and actorKiefer Sutherland. Sutherland is extremely well known for some major movie roles as well as playing the unforgettable role of CTU agent Jack Bauer in the very popular TV series 24.However he isn’t just known for his acting career. As you may or may not know, he is also a dedicated and talented musician with many of his songs relating to his personal experiences in his lifetime. His musical style is primarily that of traditional country music however there is a great mix of rock and roll too.
Of course that evening, he wasn’t the only act to perform in J1. The night of music was kicked off by the country music all female trio The Adelaides. The band is made up of Paris Georgia, Alicia Alba & Abi Phillips and are originally from Birmingham, UK. They are gaining more and more recognition and growing their fan basewith each performance ever since their first tour with The Only Way Is Essex beauty turned country star Megan McKenna back in 2017. The ladies took to the stage around 8pm looked radiant dressed in somewhat stereotypical but fabulousboho/country chic attire including the infamous ‘cowboy hats‘ as they performed their hits while playing their own acoustic instruments.
The ladies had a great stage presence as they interacted well with the audience as they flew through their set. During their time on stage they performed a number of their singles including their first release “Leave” as well as their latest record “I’d Do It Again”, “Sweet Temptation” (which was actually recorded in Nashville,USA, the home of country music) and not forgetting the song that had me in hysterics with its memorable lyrics, “Jelly Baby” which by the way is the perfect song to listen to after a break up to see the funny side of things during a difficult situation. The Adelaides also performed a number of cover songs which included “Hit The Road Jack”, “Sweet Dreams” and the infamous “Jolene” which we all know from the ultimate country queen Miss Dolly Parton.
These Birmingham country sassy lasses are definitely worth checking out.
As expected after the finale song of the first act of the night there was a short interval where ticket holders were left to mingle and keep their cups topped up. Speaking of cups, the venue has recently moved to a more eco friendly option when it comes to purchasing from the two bars in the room. Attendees are encouraged to purchase a plastic refillable drinking cup for a small fee to save on waste and more than likely finances too. A lot of music venues and festivals have now adapted to this idea, so it’s great to see that Cambridge Junction have jumped on board too rather than using single use materials for beverages.
Around 9pm the lights dimmed, instrumental music played and band members walked onto the stage. The last person to make their appearance was of course the night’s main act. Kiefer Sutherland!
The actor/musican was hidden for most of his opening song by his wide brimmed hat, however that really didn’t matter. The music was great, the lighting was colourful and the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement. Now I knew that the man had stamina going by his numerous acting roles that I had previously seen him in but I really didn’t expect as much energy as I had seen from him that evening. Just amazing! The musician performed a wide variety of genres, country, rock and heartfelt ballads. Before he performed each song of the night he would take a few moments to tell the audience a story or a history of just how the song came to be. I’ve not seen an act with such great communication with their audience as much as Kiefer showed during his show. He would often talk to the fans in front of him as if he had known them for years, he had also shared many personal stories about himself and his family. One of the most prominent ones was about his mother becoming incredibly unwell and him rushing to be by her side only to arrive and find her happy and filling the room with her lovable humour. It was definitely a story that tugged on the heartstrings. He also expressed his fondness for country music legend Johnny Cash.
The recording artist performed his hits “Shirley Jean”, “Going Home”, “I’ll Do Anything”, “Saskatchewan” and many more. He finished the evening with the energy fused “Agave” where Sutherland was seen regularly interacting with his band and making good use of the space on stage while generally just rocking out like the awesome guy you’d expect him to be.
On a personal note, this is the first live music event I had attended in the last year due to the fact I was expecting my second child. Now here and being rather sleep deprived I was apprehensive about feeling too tired to go to this show despite desperately wanting to go. Honestly I am so, so glad that I did. Not only did I get to stand in the same room as Jack Bauer (being a total ’24’ fan) which was awesome in itself but the music I heard that night was definitely what I needed to hear to introduce myself back into the writing game. If you ever get the chance to see either The Adelaides or Kiefer Sutherland live then I highly recommend that you take up such an opportunity.

The final names for Outlook Origins 2020 can now be revealed for the exciting new chapter which unfolds in the stunning Garden Resort in Tisno from July 30th to August 3rd 2020. Drum & bass icons Chase & Status and Children of Zeus are added to the opening concert, Novelist, Silkie, Coki, Goth Trad, Conducta and Sgt Pokes all line up at the main event, while 1xtra’s Jamz Supernova joins the bill and Pinch’s Tectonic and Rinse FM also get involved for their own impressive takeovers amongst many more big announcements.
Origins is all about curating cutting edge music for the real heads. It’s a more intimate version of the storied Outlook Festival, but at the same time, stays true to its roots with a big focus on sound system culture, beach parties, boat parties, after parties and more. The line-up for this mouth-watering event has been pulled together by 13 expert curators, and each has done a fine job of representing the various cornerstones of their own scenes. Elsewhere excitement is building for Deadbeat + Tikiman who will present a special live dub show, while New Zealand duo Truth return for big things in 2020. The Heatwave add some of their own much loved and hugely characteristic bounce and 1xtra’s Jamz Supernova joins the bill, while there will be more drum & bass from Technimatic, SCAR, Artificial Intelligence and J Majik.
A key part of this year’s event will be the Barbarella’s After Parties, which are available via a separate ticket on sale now as individual days, as well as part of a festival package deal and full pass. Each of these special events is powered by the peerless Sinai Sound System and will feature the likes of Dispatch and Sofa Sound going head to head for a takeover. Mala curates a heavyweight offering featuring Deep Medi family including local Egoless as well as Silkie, Sicaria Sound and a b2b from Coki and Mala, then The Bug curates his own late night get together as well as Leeds legend and dub warrior Iration Steppas.

These are Ellie Cocks and George Harrison who have now got a reputation on the European stage thanks to heavy support from Radio 1 and Mixmag, with George having recently been signed by leading booking agency NGE.
They will play the ABODE Easter Saturday special on April 11th at Tobacco Dock, which is always one of the flagship events in the year and in 2020 is headlined by huge names including Dubfire, Guti, Joey Daniel and breakout emotive house stars Meduza. What’s more, ABODE on the Rock in Malta on June 18th – 22nd is also set to sell out with headliners Jamie Jones, Michael Bibi and many more lined up for that special session the sun.

On May 9th a new party concept from KiNK launches at London’s E1. KiNK Presents Soundcheck.
An event where there is no one defining genre, where we embrace the various creative outlets of the artists on show and new exciting musical projects are given their chance to shine.
For the first time ever in one evening, KiNK will perform his notorious Live show that earned him the top spot in the final two editions of the RA Live polls, and then go on to perform a drum & bass DJ set in E1’s Dark Studio.
Whilst many know KiNK for his incredible showmanship, playful house & techno productions (epitomised best by his “Playground” LP on Gerd Janson’s Running Back in 2017), and his warm nature and popularity, what they may not know is that he has a deep love of drum & bass.
KiNK’s earliest exposure to dance music was through pirated cassette tapes that he used to buy on the streets of Sofia, Bulgaria in the 90’s. Future Sound of London and Shy FX were some of his favourites and he spent hour upon hour listening to the signature drum and bass sound that was coming out of London in the 90’s.
Anyone who’s seen KiNK’s Live show or his RA Alternate Cuts Jungle set, will know just how special this is going to be.
Joining KiNK, is another one of the dance music’s greatest figures. There are few names in the music industry that have had such a profound impact on the culture of dance music as Goldie. Founder of the legendary drum & bass outfit Metalheadz, being awarded an MBE, an actor in the Jame Bond film The World is Not Enough and Guy Ritchie’s classic ‘Snatch’, a highly regarded graffiti artist and producer of the boundary pushing Inner City Life and Timeless. His contributions to creative culture are unparalleled.
As a DJ, he’s at his best when he has time to tell his story. So he’ll be playing at Extended DJ set in the Dark Studio with MC GQ.
In E1’s Warehouse we’re thrilled to have Goldie present his newest creative project “Subjective” in partnership with James Davidson (one half of Ulterior Motive). Subjective’s debut album “Act One – Music for Inanimate Objects’ featured African rhythms, ambient Jazz, vocals from the likes of Natalie Duncan, Tyler Daley and Terri Walker. Even contributions from Jon Dixon of Detroit techno legends Underground Resistance.
Headlining support in the Warehouse is one of the most masterful disc jockeys we know. Detroit legend DJ Bone. A DJ’s DJ who earned his respect within the scene, as a DJ first and foremost, whist many others have gone down the production route. Blending, scratching, back spinning, no monitors or headphones; unrivalled in his use of the fader switch, you name it he does it and he incorporates it all into every set.
His dedication to the art of dance music and DJ’ing is so untainted and intense that the tales of his confrontational encounters with flashy booking agents and “big name” djs are already the stuff of legend. No hype or trends, just a relentless drive and passion to take the party to another level. That’s why he’s one of the few spin masters other DJs hate to follow.
The line-up doesn’t stop there though. Playing in the bass orientated Dark Studio is an artist who through his time as Om Unit, has always drawn from various influences that include hip-hop, dubstep, ambient, jungle, footwork, techno and more. In the late 2000s, Om Unit began to travel across genres and scenes in search of sonic tropes to cross-breed and re-imagine. Key to his approach has always been a desire to never settle for the destination and instead focus on what can be learnt from the journey.
In 2011, Om Unit set up Cosmic Bridge Records – his own label through which he has exercised an A&R sensibility that has created an exciting independent home for like minded artists. In 2014 he signed to Goldie’s Metalheadz, where he was given access to Goldie’s personal sample archive as the inspiration for his Inversion album.

Straight off the back of his Phonox debut alongside key players from the Innervisions roster and opening set for Sasha at E1, their resident DJ Nick Castle also joins the bill.

Platform 18 continues to reshape the Glaswegian scene with its mouth watering 2020 edition on Saturday July 4th and 5th 2020, featuring world class headliners Richie Hawtin, Floorplan, Fjaak (live), ANNA and more all playing one visually spectacular main stage in a unique urban setting.
We can now announce that local stalwart Jackmater will going the event along side techno icon Kevin Saunderson who will performing his E-Dancer show.
All this once again goes down on West Street, on the South side of the city, in a space that has only been used by Platform 18. It is a subway station car park beneath two bridges that has a raw, illicit feel that harks back to the earliest, purest days of raving. Enclosed by walls and the bridges themselves, it is a small, intense space that, in an echo of the iconic dance music phenomenon that is planes flying over DC10, has regular trains rattling by on the lines above, often adding to the electric atmosphere generated down below!
Platform 18 offer something new and fresh for Glaswegian house and techno lovers and has done since 2013. It comes from the mind of a promoter who has been putting on events for over 12 years and gives you an intimate connection with DJs: everything is set up so the raver and DJ are in sync, the selectors can join punters in the crowd for hugs and even high fives during set and they have done many times in the past, which always makes this a very special and standout occasion.
What’s more, from the beginning, Platform 18 have worked with SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health) and created the healthy slogan ‘Everyone on the same level’. Over the years they have raised around £5000 in funds but more importantly continue to create awareness around the issue with young people who may be directly or indirectly affected.
The one main stage will be decided out with visuals and more production than ever before in 2020 and this year for the first time there will be a slot set aside for up and coming local artists Systematic and Tom & Gerry. “We really want to support the future and these lads have what it takes,” says founder Ivan Kutz, who also plays the festival again this year.
Musically it is another high class affair in 2020 with techno titan and Minus label boss Richie Hawtin bringing his avant garde futurism, Brazil’s leading techno proponent and Drumcode associate ANNA, a live show from the jacking Berlin outfit Fjaak, and some true school Detroit sounds from the foster daughter duo of Robert and Lyric Hood, who imbue their timeless sounds with gospel influxes and get the floor in raptures every time they play. Add in cult underground legend Domenic Cappello, plus man of the moment Fraz.ier and you have an all encompassing soundtrack.
Platform 18 is a two-day techno bonanza unlike any other in Glasgow, and the next edition is shaping up to be the best yet.
Scotland’s Terminal V Festival has become one of the largest and most successful parties in the UK, and now the team behind it announce a bold and exciting new project: Terminal V All Nighters. Inspired by the simpler days of the 90s, when dancers picked their spot on the floor and kept going all night long, these new events will recapture the spirit and essence of those halcyon days, with a modern twist.
Launching this summer, these special showcase events will harness the power and intensity of the iconic Area V stage at Terminal V, but all night long. Of course, they will fit in between the landmark Terminal V Easter and Halloween parties that have become such an essential part of the yearly party calendar for those in the know.
Each one will start at 8pm and run until 6am on the awesome Area V Stage, with 5000 people partying hard at The Royal Highland Centre. As is always the way with Terminal V events, the line ups will feature the biggest and most forward thinking artist and brands from the worlds of house and techno. They start in August and take things back to a more stripped down approach coupled with all the next level production the world has come to expect from Terminal V.
