BST HYDE PARK TO HOST OFFICIAL GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ TITLE ATTEMPT FOR LARGEST GATHERING OF PEOPLE WEARING BALD CAPS AT PITBULL’S HEADLINE SHOW

American Express presents BST Hyde Park today announces that it will host an official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title attempt for the Largest gathering of people wearing bald caps during Pitbull’s headlining show on Friday 10 July.

The idea of a world record was championed by Radio 1 Breakfast host Greg James on air. A long-time fan of Pitbull, Greg James excitedly called for the record attempt as soon as the Hyde Park show was announced. After hearing about Greg’s world record quest, Pitbull texted him to say he was keen to be involved.

“Guinness Book of World Records, get ready for all the Bald-E’s that’ll be putting it down on July 10th at Hyde Park,” says Pitbull “Every time you put on that bald cap, you know you’re about to have the time of your lives. We appreciate the love, the commitment, and the support. More than anything, we just want to say thank you. Dale!”

The attempt builds on a phenomenon sparked by Pitbull’s devoted international fanbase, including  his recent sold-out O2 Arena shows in London where thousands of fans arrived wearing bald caps. The fan fashion tribute to the artist’s iconic look quickly went viral last year, with audiences affectionately dubbing themselves “The Bald E’s”. The movement continues across his live shows globally this year, including his upcoming European and North American I’M BACK tour dates, celebrating the larger-than-life spirit of Mr. Worldwide.

BST Hyde Park now brings this fan-led moment to its biggest stage yet, inviting audiences to take part in an official, adjudicated GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title attempt and be part of music history. Final tickets are on sale now, visit www.bst-hydepark.com

The official record comes with all-important rules, being that “all participants must wear bald caps secured firmly on the head, with hair tucked under at the front and top (hair may hang from the back),” and everyone must be together at the same time, as “all participants must be gathered together and in position simultaneously and remain so for a minimum of one minute.”

Darcey Jackson, Director of Talent at AEG Presents European Festivals says, “We’re so excited to host a [Mr] world [wide] record attempt at Pitbull’s show in BST Hyde Park – The highest number of people wearing baldcaps! We’ve broken a few world records in the past but this will really truly be the time of our lives . We cannot wait to welcome you all to Hyde Park for what will inevitably be an incredible show. Come one, come all, come bald”

Will Munford, Adjudicator at Guinness World Records says, “We look forward to Adjudicating this record at BST Hyde Park with Pitbull. What better way to be part of something amazing than coming together with other fans to celebrate your favourite artist. Best of luck to all of those taking part on the day!

BST Hyde Park reveal next headliner Noah Kahan

American Express presents BST Hyde Park announces another incredible headliner for 2025, record breaking folk-pop star, Noah Kahan, for his biggest UK show to date on Friday 4 July. Noah Kahan will be joined by special guest, Gracie Abrams, with full line-up still to come. Tickets go on general sale Friday 8 November at 10am GMT. Available at www.bst-hydepark.com

Over the past year, GRAMMY-nominated Vermont singer-songwriter Noah Kahan has exploded from his New England roots into the global mainstream, solidifying himself as one of this year’s biggest and best new artists.
Across three albums and two EPs, Kahan has garnered global renown for his singular mix of Folk, Americana, and Rock, landing more than five billion streams, a Double Platinum Certification for hit single ‘Stick Season’, and collaborations with Post Malone, Kacey Musgraves, Kelsea Ballerini, Brandi Carlile, Gracie Abrams, Sam Fender and more.

A major global success, ‘Stick Season’, a song based on the malaise he felt staying in his hometown, became Kahan’s first UK Top 10 single. Climbing all the way to Number 1 it sat atop of the UK charts for seven weeks and, in February this year, he landed the Official Chart double – as both ‘Stick Season’ and its accompanying album took the Number 1 spot on both the Official Singles and Albums Chart simultaneously. Just last month, the track has now been named as the UK’s Biggest Song of 2024 by Official Charts.

Shows in support of his widely adored, Platinum-Certified album, Stick Season, sold-out across North America, selling over half-a-million tickets – just a prelude to his stadium and arena dates on his sold-out world tour that followed. In 2024 here in the UK, Kahan sold-out two nights at OVO Wembley Arena, following up with two sold-out shows at the O2 Arena just a few months later. Now the singer joins the incredible list of headliners to play BST Hyde Park’s Great Oak Stage, for one of the biggest shows of his career so far.

Since making her debut in 2019, Gracie Abrams has emerged as one of the most compelling songwriters of her generation. Her debut project minor was released in summer 2020, featuring her beloved singles ’21’, ‘I miss you, I’m sorry’, and ‘Long Sleeves’. In 2021, Abrams returned with EP This Is What It Feels Like, before sharing her long-awaited debut album Good Riddance, produced by Aaron Dessner of The National.

Praised by Rolling Stone as “one of 2023’s best debuts”, they hailed Abrams as “one of pop’s buzziest young artists”. Her latest offering, the 2024 sophomore album The Secret of Us, was created soon after Abrams took the stage at stadiums across the US as support for Taylor Swift’s blockbuster Eras Tour. Don’t miss her BST Hyde Park debut next July.

BST Hyde Park shares special guests for Morgan Wallen headline show

American Express presents BST Hyde Park is excited to welcome chart-topping country sensation Morgan Wallen, headlining on Thursday 4 July. Today we’re thrilled to announce the first wave of incredible special guests, including Riley Green, Ernest and Ella Langley, with the full line-up still to come. Tickets for this unmissable show are on sale now, available at www.bst-hydepark.com

For his first ever UK performance, Riley Green is heading to the Great Oak Stage at BST Hyde Park! Riley Green has been compelling Country music fans to raise a drink, shed a tear, and, above all, celebrate where they are from, since first releasing his self-titled EP in 2018. His songs like the Platinum hit ‘There Was This Girl’, the 2x Platinum-certified heart-tugger ‘I Wish Grandpas Never Died’, and his chart-topping collab with Thomas Rhett, ‘Half of Me’, have made Riley synonymous with what Country music does best: making listeners feel something with his no-gimmick, relatable writing and classic feel. Hot off the heels of his latest EP released in April, Way Out Here, we can’t wait for Riley to bring his new music to this huge day of Country in Hyde Park.

Nashville’s most unpredictable hitmaker ERNEST is “The Charmer”, a triple threat talent and one of Music City’s on the rise artist/writers who is changing the status quo. The two-time ACM Award nominee (2024) crafts a twist-heavy verse style that’s become his signature, proving its mettle, and earning him multiple No. 1s to date. He just released his highly anticipated sophomore album, NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE, which follows up ERNEST’S critically acclaimed debut album FLOWER SHOPS (THE ALBUM).

Flexing show-stopping vocals and a razor-sharp pen, Alabama native Ella Langley spikes her unfiltered true stories with unapologetic rock ‘n’ roll grit and unassuming pop appeal. With the success of her debut EP Excuse The Mess, and with several high-profile songwriting cuts, Ella has been widely touted as an artist to watch. This year she will hit the road with both Morgan Wallen and Riley Green, and will soon unveil her highly anticipated debut album.

Morgan Wallen says, “Last fall was my first time in the UK and man, I loved it. I saw so much while I was there, and the people were incredible. To play where legendary artists like Pink Floyd and The Rolling Stones have played is a huge honor for me and my band, and we can’t wait to be back.”

One of today’s brightest stars in music, Morgan Wallen has been riding a non-stop wave of success with a string of 11 No. 1 hits and electrifying live shows with 2.4 million fans already holding tickets to his world tour. His latest single with Post Malone, ‘I Had Some Help’, was a major hit in the UK upon release, placing at No.2 in the Official Charts.

After releasing digital series Abbey Road Sessions recorded at the famous Abbey Road Studios – including five live recordings from One Thing At A Time, an unreleased fan-favourite, ‘Lies Lies Lies’, and a never-before-recorded cover of Nothing But Thieves’ ‘Graveyard Whistling’ – Morgan Wallen will return to London this July. Watch/listen to Abbey Road Sessions HERE.

Wallen’s rise to prominence has been nothing short of meteoric. Hailed by Billboard for making “his superstar arrival as a touring artist” in 2022, 11-time 2023 Billboard Music Awards-winner Morgan Wallen continues to reign as one of Country’s top touring artists. Spanning 5 countries and 3 continents, Wallen’s 57-show 2023 One Night At A Time World Tour was named a Pollstar and Billboard Country Tour of the Year and delivered the man the New York Times dubbed “one of the biggest stars in pop, period” to fans worldwide. Wallen will bring the show to BST Hyde Park for the first time this summer.

Wallen’s authentic storytelling and raw emotion struck a chord with fans, propelling him to the forefront of the country music scene. Last year saw him release his third studio album, One Thing At A Time, which reigned atop the all-genre Billboard 200 chart for 18 non-consecutive weeks, tying Garth Brooks’ Ropin’ the Wind with the most weeks at No. 1 for a Country album, and was the most-streamed album of the year on Spotify.

With over 28 billion on-demand streams, his hit songs and fan favourites, including ‘Whiskey Glasses’, ‘More Than My Hometown’, and ‘7 Summers’, have dominated airwaves and playlists. 6x-Platinum single ‘Last Night’ reeled in over 1.5 billion streams globally, becoming the most-streamed song of any genre in the U.S. across Apple Music and Spotify, and the longest running No. 1 solo song in Hot 100 history (16 weeks total).

BST Hyde Park announces: SZA

American Express presents BST Hyde Park is excited to announce that the phenomenal, groundbreaking, genre-bending artist SZA will headline on Saturday 29 June, the first Saturday of BST Hyde Park’s three weekends. SZA is joined by special guests Sampha and Snoh Aalegra, with the full supporting line up to be announced. Tickets go on sale Friday 8 March, 10am GMT available at www.bst-hydepark.com.

A distinct force in contemporary R&B, SZA has set herself apart with a vulnerable and casually poetic songwriting style and a voice conveying a multitude of emotions with subtle twists and turns. She established herself with a trio of spaced-out EPs and collaborations with the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Nicki Minaj, and Rihanna, and continued her ascent with Ctrl (2017), a Top Ten album that resulted in five Grammy nominations, including Best New Artist. These accolades proved to be no fluke, as SZA earned almost as many Grammy nominations the next year by assisting Kendrick Lamar with ‘All the Stars’, a Top Ten hit, only one in a slew of platinum singles she has scored as a headliner or featured artist. Her rich and complex second album, SOS (2022), went straight to No.1 on the Billboard 200, produced four Top Ten pop singles – including the chart-topping revenge fantasy ‘Kill Bill’ – and earned the artist three Grammy awards. On 2 March, SZA was also crowned ‘International Artist of the Year’ at the BRIT Awards 2024.

Last June, as part of her internationalSOStour, SZA performed four back-to-back nights at London’s O2 Arena, as well as nights in Glasgow and Manchester, to an incredible critical reception, with many highlighting SZA’s vocals and the stunning set design. Now, the acclaimed US R&B superstar is making a triumphant return to the capital for her BST Hyde Park debut, and we are counting down the days…

Sampha and Snoh Aalegra are also announced for this unparalleled show. From UK breakout star to global icon, Sampha has left an indelible mark on contemporary culture. The south London singer, songwriter, and producer boasts a career marked by era-defining records like the breakthrough Dual EP (2013) and the Mercury Music Prize-winning debut album Process (2017). He’s equally known for collaborations with artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Stormzy, Drake, Solange, Frank Ocean, and Alicia Keys.

Iranian Swedish-born singer Snoh Aalegra, celebrated for her soulful sound influenced by icons like Stevie Wonder and Whitney Houston, has garnered multiple GRAMMY nominations. Mentored by Prince for two years, she has collaborated with music heavyweights like Drake and Common. Her album – Ugh, those feels again debuted as the #1 R&B album on iTunes, earning critical acclaim for exploring themes of self-love, independence, and hopefulness.

SZA joins an eclectic line up for BST Hyde Park 2024 including previously announced headliners Kings of Leon (30 June), Andrea Bocelli (5 July), Robbie Williams (6 July), Shania Twain (7 July), Stevie Nicks (12 July), Kylie (13 July) and Stray Kids (14 July), with more artists to be revealed soon – so watch this space!
