The Avett Brothers, Destroyer and more for Green Man Festival

There is no harmony like brotherly harmony, and few do it better than North Carolina’s incredible Avett Brothers.

avett brothersDiscovered by the legendary Rick Rubin, siblings Scott and Seth Avett will keep the Green Man family vibe going in the beautiful Brecon Beacons this August.

Major label debut I and Love and You, produced by Rubin, is packed with raw emotion and naked honesty and finds the brothers poised to breakthrough to the wider audience their songwriting deserves.

The unbridled energy of their self-styled “punkgrass” live show is a must-see – expect raw emotion, some stomping singalongs and the odd snapped banjo string!

Destroyer – aka multi-talented master craftsman and arranger extraordinaire Dan Bejar – headlines the Far Out Tent at Green Man on Saturday.

The Canadian’s ninth album Kaputt is an opulent, lyrical, game-changing masterpiece – elaborate, funny and funky early ‘80s pop songs brought to life by an eight-piece touring band. With a flurry of five star reviews and comparisons to Roxy Music and David Bowie, this astonishing record has rightly been hailed as “a retro dance soundtrack for disco fans”.

Josh T. Pearson’s acclaimed solo debut Last Of The Country Gentlemen is quite possibly the bravest album you’ll hear in 2011.

A collection of seven songs drawn from the lessons of what he describes as “a rough year”, this is personal, powerful, painful, music to melt the heart of the most hardened cynic. If you managed to catch Josh’s spellbinding appearance on Later With Jools Holland last month, you will be licking your lips in anticipation…

Alessi’s Ark is the stage name of West Londoner Alessi Laurent-Marke, whose 2009 debut was produced by Bright Eyes member Mike Mogis in Conor Oberst’s own studio. Now the prodigious 20-year-old is back with the follow-up Time Travel, released last week on the ever-excellent Bella Union.

Matthew And The Atlas have played in some of the UK’s most iconic venues thanks to a support slot last year with Mumford and Sons – not least the Green Man Boat party! Led by gravel-voiced singer Matt Hegarty, the band are now emerging in their own right as one of the brightest stars on the UK folk scene.

Cowbois Rhos Botwnnog – brothers Iwan, Aled and Dafydd Hughes – continue the family theme. Formed in 2006 between the predominantly Welsh-speaking villages of Botwnnog and Llaniestyn in the Lynn Peninsula, the band’s beautiful, rootsy, country-tinged sound is quickly attracting an ever-growing following.

You can discover Cowbois Rhos Botwnnog and scores of other amazing, upcoming new acts lovingly hand-picked by Green Man himself in the Brecon Beacons from August 19th to 21st.

And if you’re lucky, we might even have some more exciting news on the welcome return of one of Green Man’s very good friends up our sleeves for a rainy day…

Don’t miss out on tickets to Green Man 2011.

russell kaneThe first headliner to be announced for 2011 is Russell Kane, a multi-talented writer and performer who has firmly established himself as one the best comics in the UK today. Next on the bill is national treasure Arthur Smith. Lock Up Stage lineup announced for Reading and Leeds Festival 2011

Mike Davies, presenter of The Punk Rock Show on Radio 1 and curator of the stage commented “2011 is the year that Punk Rock broke out… again. There are so many great groups around and I truly believe that we have managed to get 24 of the best bands possible to play on the Lock Up Stage. It’s guaranteed to be the best weekend of the summer.”

The Reading & Leeds Festival take place on Europe’s biggest dual site, Little John’s Farm in Reading and Bramham Park in Leeds.   Held Friday 26th August – Sunday 28th August 2011, this is the most exciting weekend of music and fun held anywhere in the world.

Many more names are still to be announced as well as the full line-up for the Festival Republic Stage, BBC Introducing Stage and The Alternative Stage.

LOCK UP STAGE

Saturday 27th August at Reading Festival / Sunday 28th August at Leeds Festival

Since forming 21 years ago, THE MIGHTY MIGHTY BOSSTONES have toured the world and taken their self-created ska-core sound to millions of fans. Arguably the founding fathers of this scene, they’ve continued to entertain countless fans with their high-energy live shows fronted by the inimitable Dicky Barrett.

Formed in North London, KING BLUES have long held the baton fusing ska, folk and punk rock. Armed with a formidable live reputation and a political backdrop the band have gone from strength to strength. The recent release of their third album ‘Punk and Poetry’ described by one magazine as the “searing soundtrack to revolution summer 2011enhances that reputation further.

THE BRONX bring their Los Angeles hardcore punk to this year’s Reading & Leeds Festival. Having formed back in the early noughties and with a penchant for eponymously naming their albums – they’ve released three, as well as the mariachi album ‘El Bronx’ this quintet return with their own sense of excitement to the stage.

2010 saw CAPDOWN reform having split two years earlier. Their return to the hardcore punk scene is a positive one and has seen no let-up in their political polemic which has seen releases on numerous independent labels over the past decade. Catch this acclaimed live outfit now in case they really call it day!

Hard to pigeonhole, New York’s LEFTOVER CRACK bring their amalgam of Ska, hardcore punk and the well documented anti -bigotry / religion / police and government stance to this year’s Lock Up stage.

Originally formed as a side project to Figure Four, Canada’s COMEBACK KID’s popularity was fuelled initially by the band’s word of mouth reputation on the hardcore scene’s bush telegraph. This soon enough saw them recognised in their own right as an exciting addition to the hardcore scene.

Another reformation, BOYSETSFIRE announced their plans at the tail end of last year having called it a day back in 2007. This post hardcore five-piece tear it up tough with a political slant that will be a highlight on this stage this summer.

The band describe STREET DOGS as having started as little more than a “poker night” for musicians, with piles of chips traded in for stacks of amps instead. However, these talented Boston musicians, fronted by ex-Dropkick Murphy’s vocalist Mike McColgan’s soon made the step up to the respected recording and touring outfit the now are. Thrilling punk rock from the experts.

Off the back of a Canadian tour with label mates NOFX,Wyoming’s very own TEENAGE BOTTLEROCKET bring their young punk attitudes to the Lock Up stage at this year’s Reading & Leeds Festival.

Recently signing a new record deal with SideOneDummy Records, home of Anti- Flag and The Gaslight Anthem, Pennsylvania’s four-piece rockers TITLE FIGHT areall set to embark on a tour of Europe so will certainly be well prepared for a full on hard-hitting set on the Lock Up stage this summer.

SHARKS are one of the names to drop on the punk scene. Having played shows with the likes of Gallows and Lostprophets amongst others, recent EP’s showcased a band that are all about their music. Expect these shows to continue the buzz that has them marked as one’s to watch.

Sunday 28th August at Reading Festival / Friday 26th August at Leeds Festival

If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, the DESCENDENTS must go to sleep with flushed cheeks every night of the week. Few bands can claim to have influenced and inspired so many artists in their time. They took punk and pop into the mosh-pit in 1978 and have continued to fuse catchy melodies with raw energy ever since. These Californian legends will close the night in style.

A little bit of Dublin, via Los Angeles comes to Reading & Leeds courtesy of FLOGGING MOLLY. Traditional Celtic instruments like violin, mandolin and accordion blend seamlessly with grinding guitars and pounding drums to make the ultimate party sound.  Fronted by Dave King the seven-piece have taken their musical passion around the world and know how to fire up a festival crowd.

After an eight year break, Southern California’s FACE TO FACE return next month with their eighth studio album ‘Laugh Now, Laugh Later’, released via Antagonist Records / Century Media. Regarded as one of the seminal and most influential punk rock bands of recent times, Face To Face are a sure fire hit for this year, get there early to make sure you see this set.

Post hardcore legends HOT WATER MUSIC arrive at Reading & Leeds Festival ready to deliver a whirlwind live performance. Formed in 1994 by singers / guitarists Chuck Ragan and Chris Wolland, bassist Jason Black and drummer George Rebelo, the band have gone on to inspire a generation of music fans. Be sure to witness a huge and lively crowd for these sets.

The tale of BEDOUIN SOUNDCLASH has been filled with step after step of something special — from live shows that are as emotionally incendiary as they are monstrously entertaining to albums that have stoked the hearts and minds of thousands.   These Canadians released their latest album ‘Light The Hoizon’ last year and are sure to perform tracks from it as well as their extensive back catalogue.

Punk supergroup OFF! from Los Angeles are Circle Jerks/Black Flag singer Keith Morris, Burning Brides frontman Dimitri Coats, Redd Kross bassist Steven Shane McDonald, and Rocket From The Crypt/Hot Snakes drummer Mario Rubalcaba. When they formed they descibed it as “an inspiring kick in the pants,” McDonald says. “One that is so vitally rebellious and anti-establishment.” They bring their ‘dark party’ to the festival.

Formed in 2010 by Jim Lindberg, for 20 years the frontman of influential Californian punk band Pennywise, THE BLACK PACIFIC play their first eagerly-awaited Reading & Leeds Festival this summer in support of their eponymous debut album.
www.theblackpacific.com

With a demo tape that ended up on many critics’ Top 10 lists, Pennsylvanian rockers THE MENZINGERS are destined to be huge and have spent the past year building support with the likes of The Gaslight Anthem, NOFX and Anti-Flag.

Currently on a whirlwind tour of the US, Brighton hardcore punks YOUR DEMISE return to the UK to blow us away with songs from ‘The Kids We Used To Be…’, their second album for legendary rock label Visible Noise.

Featuring members of Gallows, Haunts and Cry For Silence, much-touted Watford-based supergroup SPY CATCHER release their debut album ‘Honesty’ this summer and are sure to justify their hype at Reading & Leeds.

Fans of south London ska-punks MOUTHWASH will be salivating at the prospect of their festival appearances, as the band return triumphant from their first headline tour and slots with The Skints and The King Blues.

Goldfish, I Am Giant and more added to Southern Sounds lineup

Goldfish are an electronic dance music group hailing from Cape Town, South Africa. Consisting of Dominic Peters and David Poole, they create dance music containing elements of jazz and African music, combining live instruments like double bass, saxophones, keyboards, flute, and vocals with samplers, effects and synths. They have played alongside many international acts including Basement Jaxx, Faithless and Fatboy Slim. In 2008 they were nominated for Best Alternative act at the MTV Africa Music Awards and followed this up in 2009 by setting a new South African Music Awards record for most nominations (8), including Best Group and Album of the Year, clinching Best Producer and Best Dance Album.

I Am Giant are London based New Zealanders Shelton Woolright, Paul Matthews, Aja Timu and Brit, Ed Martin. Drummer Shelton Woolright is formerly from critically acclaimed triple platinum band Blindspott, one of New Zealand’s most successful rock bands to date. I Am Giant have been successfully winning fans around the globe in the short time they have been together. Last year they became the Quiksilver Ambassadors for Europe which lead to countless festivals and events including Brixton’s Skate and BMX Jam, Quiksilver’s ‘Chromataphobia’ and the Quiksilver Pro Tour in Biarritz, France.

dj yodaThey will be joined by DJ Yoda, no ordinary scratch DJ. His seminal How To Cut & Paste series showcased a tongue-in-cheek mixing style that prompted Q Magazine to declare him “one of the ten DJs to see before you die”, whilst Hip Hop Connection voted him “one of the top three DJs in the world”. Completing the main stage lineup is XFM’s Eddy Temple Morris and Rob Diverted.

Creamfields Adds Extra Day For Campers

Becoming a 3 day camping event will not only improve ease of access to the site for festivalgoers but there will also be an array of entertainment on offer within the main event site including a showcase of the Swedish House Mafia movie ‘Take One’ which charts the lives of the International DJ trio over 2 years covering 15 countries and 285 shows.
Friday also sees the debut of two ‘Silent Disco’ arenas at the festival, the first of which will be hosted by Size Matters, Steve Angello’s world famous party brand, with performances from Steve’s latest Size Records protégés Tim Mason and Third Party plus more to be announced.

Creamfields also welcomes Mixmag’s monthly party ‘That Mixmag Thing’ to host the second silent disco arena with performances from the Scratch Perverts, BBC Radio 1’s Jaymo & Andy George, Brookes Brothers, Futurebound, Clique DJ’s and more. The mag’s popular night began just over a year ago and has already seen a host of hot new electronic acts pass through its doors as well as the odd superstar DJ so expect no less from their Creamfields debut.

Campers arriving on the Friday will also be able to chill out at the festival’s on-site cinema which will be showing a collection of iconic clubbing films as well as enjoying all the fun of the fair, stalls and more. The main arena site’s food and drink stalls will also be open for the new arrivals.

Access to the event on Friday is limited and only open to festival goers camping at the event. Tickets will go on general sale 10am Tuesday 3rd May.  Any existing camping ticket holders wishing to purchase a Friday ticket for £20 (standard)/ £30 (hospitality) will be contacted by their ticket agent with details on how to book.

Demand from fans to introduce a Friday opening has been high since Creamfields became a two day camping event in 2008.  Selling out in record time over the last 2 years, 2011 is already on course to eclipse last year’s success. This year Creamfields have secured one of the biggest dance line ups of the year which will see performances from the likes of The Chemical Brothers, David Guetta, Tiёsto, Swedish House Mafia, Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk to name a few.

Creamfields spokesperson comments: “We are delighted to be able to announce a third day to the festival, which has been growing year on year. Those choosing to arrive on the Friday will not only benefit from improved access into the site, but they will be able to have the pick of the campsites pitching closer to the arena site if they wish. It also enables people travelling long distances the chance to pitch up earlier, saving a long journey through the night for many”

The Big Feastival is a sensational new three day event on the festival calendar combining mouth-watering food from some of the country’s top chefs with a top drawer selection of the finest live music acts around. The Big Feastival takes place on Clapham Common on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd July, and is the first festival of its kind bringing the best things in life – friends, families, great food and drink and amazing live music – together in one place over one fantastic weekend.

The Big Feastival is a festival with a heart, raising funds for The Prince’s Trust and The Jamie Oliver Foundation to help change the lives of disadvantaged young people. Proving food is the new rock ‘n’ roll The Big Feastival combines London’s finest gourmet experience with the look of an urban village fete and a music festival vibe, creating an extra special big day out for the entire family with food included in the ticket price and best of all kids can go free.

The Big Feastival has a stellar music line up from the hottest pop stars around to some of the most loved bands of the last 20 years entertaining the masses all weekend long. Amongst the first wave of acts announced for Friday July 1st are the majestic Soul II Soul who have reunited with acclaimed vocalist Caron Wheeler and are currently recording material for a brand new album, new wave electro-pop sensations New Young Pony Club, national treasure Norman Jay, who will be on hand to curate The Good Times Bandstand and Shoom legend Danny Rampling. Saturday’s musical entertainment is headed up by one of the UKs most loved bands, The Charlatans, who will be wowing the crowds with an almost unending stream of classic hits, plus there will be Eel Pie Island residents Mystery Jets whose quirky pop will entrance one and all and Kurran and the Wolfnotes who will be adding cutting edge alt-folk action to proceedings. The first name out of the hat for Sunday is Ivor Novello Award Winning indie rockers and South London’s finest Athlete, whose uplifting life-affirming music has made them one of the UKs most successful platinum-selling artists. There is still a wealth of amazing bands and DJs to be announced in the coming weeks, so keep your eyes peeled and keep checking www.thebigfeastival.co.uk for the most up to the minute information.

Jamie Oliver commented: “The Big Feastival is something unique that we’ve wanted to try for a while. A really good festival for everyone with great music AND great food, all for charity. You can buy a music ticket to see the bands, and just enjoy all the extra free entertainment too. But the really great deal is the music and food standard ticket, with five meals from any of our fantastic restaurants included too – and I don’t just mean little mouthfuls, I mean good portions. Kids under 12 go free as well and there’s loads to entertain them like a funfair and brilliant kitchen garden.”

Charlatans Lead Singer Tim Burgess Said: ‘You can’t really argue with Shakespeare and he said that music is the food of love, so there’s always been a link between the two. Festivals were often known for their dodgy burger vans and some gigs were a bit ‘chicken in a basket’, so it’s good to redress the balance and have great bands and fantastic food in the same place.’

Commenting on his involvement with Big Feastival Norman Jay (MBE) said: ‘I’m really honoured to be involved with such a prestigious and worthy event for The Princes Trust and Jamie Oliver Foundation, Good food….. Good music……Good Times!!’

With what will be an unrivalled selection of delicious food on offer, The Big Feastival has a committee of top chefs – who have come together to celebrate all that is good about food in a rock ‘n’ roll environment. Committee members include one of the UK’s finest Italian Chefs and Michelin Star recipient Giorgio Locatelli, former Masterchef winner and Wahaca co-founder Thomasina Miers, The Providores and Tapa Room and Kopapa co-owner Peter Gordon, owner of Milk & Honey, the original secretive speakeasy in Soho, Jonathan Downey and founder of Fifteen Jamie Oliver. Other restaurants supplying sublime sustenance across the weekend will include Benares, Redhook, Vinoteca, Cafe Spice Namaste, Canteen, Barbacoa and Giant Robot who will present the VIP bar, with lots more restaurants still to be announced.

Wahaca Co-Founder & Prince’s Trust Supporter Thomasina Miers Said: ‘The Big Feastival appealed to us from the start as it is all about getting people into cooking, particularly with the emphasis of the charities that we are supporting this year. The Prince’s Trust is one of Wahaca’s main charities it supports so it was an ideal fit for us. I know that our chefs are going to have an amazing time too – it’s going to be so much fun! I can’t think of anything better than being outside in the summer enjoying good food whilst listening to great music!’

Peter Gordon commented: ‘The Big Feastival will be a brilliant weekend of delicious eclectic flavours, sights and sounds. The restaurants are gearing up to feed everyone the most brilliant food and help raise as much as we can. It’s going to be a laugh!’

There’s plenty more incredible attractions and delicious food on offer throughout the weekend from the likes of The British Cheese Board and The People’s Supermarket, plus there will be myriad demonstrations and masterclasses from a wealth of experts including Sophie Grigson, Recipease, Jo Pratt and Rachel Allen, so watch this space for more information.

With a whole host of chefs who will be contributing to One Big Menu that will serve up the most exquisite cuisine available at any festival all summer long, even more music acts and more attractions to be announced make sure you visit www.thebigfeastival.co.uk and follow www.facebook.com/thebigfeastival and @thebigfeastival for more information and don’t forget to tag your tweets #bigfeastival.

The Prince’s Trust

Youth charity The Prince’s Trust helps change young lives. It gives practical and financial support, developing key workplace skills such as confidence and motivation. Every year, The Prince’s Trust supports more than 40,000 disadvantaged 14- to 30-year-olds who have struggled at school, have been in care, are long-term unemployed or have been in trouble with the law. One of the charity’s key programmes is ‘Get into’ – short vocational courses that develop young people’s skills in a specific sector such as cooking or hospitality. Last year, more than three in four young people supported by The Prince’s Trust moved into work, education or training.

The Jamie Oliver Foundation

The Jamie Oliver Foundation’s mission is to educate and empower as many people as possible to love and enjoy good food. This means learning how to cook, understanding where food comes from, and recognizing the power it can have on our health, happiness, and even finances. It does this through teaching, training and employment, and also by making good clear information available to as many people as possible. There are four activities within the Jamie Oliver Foundation: Fifteen Apprentice Programme. Jamie’s School Dinners. Jamie’s Ministry of Food. Jamie’s Food Revolution

M.I.A, Bad Religion and more for Exit Festival 2011

m.i.aGiving the boys a run for their money on the Main Stage – M.I.A. will be bringing some girl power to EXIT. British artist M.I.A. will perform on Friday 8th July. Renowned for her eclectic compositions combing elements of hip-hop, electronica, dance, alternative and world music M.I.A is back and as incendiary and forward thinking as ever. After two hugely acclaimed albums 2005’s ‘Arular’ and 2007’s ‘Kala’, the global success of Paper Planes, Oscar nominations, and that Grammys performance, M.I.A returned to form with last years release ‘// / Y /’ Recorded in Los Angeles, the album features production from Rusko, Diplo, Blaqstarr and Switch, a collaboration resulting in dubstep bass and grinding industrial noise being added to MIA’s unique armoury of sounds. ‘// / Y /’ draws influence from our technologically changing world, now that our every thought and action is documented and posted for everyone to see. The album is an uncensored screen-grab of 2010 and fans can experience this new material live at EXIT.

Bad Religion will also play the Main Stage. Known for their soaring 3 part vocal harmonies, sophisticated and intellectual lyrics, including political and religious commentary, Bad Religion are considered one of the most successful independent punk acts, selling over 5 million albums worldwide. The band have released 15 studio albums, and achieved their greatest success with their 1994 album ‘Stranger Than Fiction’, which obtained gold status in the US. The same album also spawned their well known hits “21st Century (Digital Boy)” and “Infected”. In the 32 years since its inception, Bad Religion has had numerous lineup changes, and vocalist Greg Graffin has been the only constant member, although the band currently features three of the original members who will bring some hardcore, punk rock mayhem for a high voltage performance the fortress. EXIT loves to rock!

Meanwhile in the legendary Dance Arena, Groove Armada will be unveiling their new Red Light ‘Decks & FX’ show on Saturday 9th July. Over the past decade Groove Armada have become one of the most loved and biggest selling dance acts on the planet. They enjoyed huge success during their career so far with their second album ‘Vertigo’ released in 1999 reaching platinum sales in the UK and the follow up ‘Goodbye Country: Hello Nightclub’ going Gold in 2001 with the single “Superstylin” also being nominated for a Grammy. 2010 saw ‘Black Light’, their 6th studio album reaching critical acclaim and a Grammy Nomination for Best Electronic Album and 2011 now sees the duo opening a new and exciting chapter of their musical life. Festival favourites Andy Cato and Tom Findlay are back behind the decks to wow crowds once again with their new project Red Light. Expect the unexpected.

To end Saturday night’s proceedings in style will be Better Lost Than Stupid aka Martin Buttrich, Davide Squillace and Matthias Tanzmann. Each individually known for their contributions to the house and techno scene, together they are setting decks alight worldwide. From Circo Loco parties in Ibiza to poolside parties in Miami, and now to Exit Festival for Saturday’s infamous Dance Arena closing set. This going to be one hell of a closing set bordering on chaoscrazysexyfunnycoolamazinglywickedlyincredible and we just can’t wait! Also introducing the young lady on everyone’s lips, Maya Jane Coles is one of the scene’s most talented and up and coming artists in electronic music. Her forthcoming EPs on Mobilee Records, her ability to create songs and not just music for dancefloors will no doubt elevate her status even further. A bright talent with more than a couple of strings to her bow Maya Jane Coles is only just getting started. Another fresh talent for Exit will be Union who will be starting the proceedings on Sunday with their unique take on ‘crunkstep’ along with a selection of tunes that nods towards 2ManyDjs inimitable style. Taking the UK by large, rocking dancefloors and festival alike, all whilst leaving a trail of aural destruction behind them. Miss them at your peril.

Arguably London’s finest underground house night, we are delighted to welcome Shake It! back to SW4 for the first time since 2009. Shake It! residents Layo & Bushwacka! will be joined by our favourite Frenchman Mr Laurent Garnier who headlines proceedings, bringing with him his mindblowing LBS showcase alongside Benjamin Rippert and Stephane ‘Scan X’ Dri. Garnier himself explains that while L.B.S. officially stands for Live Booth Sessions, a more fitting name would be Loud Bass and Samples and this exclusive performance is sure to be as thrilling as it is ground breaking. Tiga returns to Clapham Common this summer having previously performed at Get Loaded in the Park. On SW4 duty this time round, we’re delighted to add the Canadian’s electronic sounds to a hugely impressive Shake It! showcase. German duo M.A.N.D.Y. return to South West Four having played alongside Carl Cox at last year’s event. One of the stand out performers last summer, expect the ‘Body Language’ pioneers to be back with a bang. Completing the line-up we’re delighted to welcome Spencer Parker. Sunday’s main stage line-up focuses on the more alternative side of the dance music spectrum. The musical juggernaut that is Pendulum will close this year’s South West Four with their only London show of the year. Having fused ideas from a plethora of musical genres, we’re delighted to welcome them to the Common for a full live performance that will certainly get the rave juices flowing. In yet another London festival exclusive, Magnetic Man will act as main support. One of the most talked about electronic acts of the past two years, all eyes are on dubstep’s most loved trio. The first lady of BBC Radio 1, Annie Mac, has this year continued to take her ‘Annie Mac presents’ tour across the world with monstrous parties that have turned many a head. Add to that her hugely successful weekly radio show and you’re looking at one of the most talked about DJs of our time. As the leader of the Digital Soundboy System, Shy FX leads a tight-knit team of like-minded Soundboy soldiers. This includes the prestigious Breakage, one of the world’s premier female DJs B.Traits with MC Donaeo, DJ Marky’s MC of choice Stamina and one of the UK’s most exciting and dynamic vocal talents, Youngman. Adding more live music to the Sunday Main Stage lineup, London’s grime sensation Wretch 32 has recently shot to fame after the release of his debut smash hit ‘Traktor’. Having toured the UK extensively this year to rave reviews, we’re delighted to add him to the SW4 line-up. It’s not often you see a life sized dinosaur play electro but this is what can be expected from Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs. Beginning her music career as a DJ in London just two years ago, Yasmin has already founded her own successful club night, spun around the world for N.E.R.D., Taio Cruz and Eve and played storming sets at Glastonbury and Ibiza Rocks. Established as a world-class spinner, Yasmin is now ready to make her mark as a fully-fledged artist, singer and songwriter in her own right. Her next stop? SW4.

richie hawtinTogether returns to Clapham Common this August after its unforgettable arena at last year’s South West Four. Heading proceeding is a man that needs no introduction, M_Nus label boss Richie Hawtin. One of the leading pioneers of the techno scene across the world over the past twenty years, it’s no wonder that this man is recognised as one of the greatest electronic artists of all time. Modeselektor bring their widely diverse sound to the Together arena, as they wow the SW4 crowd with a number of genres all compressed into a style that is all of their own. Another leading name in the electronic world, SW4 welcomes Gaiser, one of the most revered artists in Richie Hawtin’s Minus collective. Sub Focus will bring his everything goes mantra to SW4 along with his usual blend of air-punching, dancefloor dismantling drum & bass. Andy C, another stand out performer at last year’s SW4, plays under the Together banner once again and the Ram Records boss will be joined by dubstep star Joker and the brain child of Drums of Death and Mumdance, Mums of Death.

We Love is the greatest Sunday clubbing experience on the planet. Flying the flag for the Ibiza institution is none other Sasha. One of the undisputed kings of dance music, Sasha returns to SW4 having smashed last year’s Main Stage to pieces. Sasha will be joined by Viva Record boss Steve Lawler. The king of Ibiza’s legendary Space terrace, Steve has been on We Love line-ups for as long as we can remember. A We Love party wouldn’t be complete without their residents Simian Mobile Disco and Joris Voorn. Simian make their long awaited SW4 debut this year, whilst Joris returns to the Common having played a storming set in John Digweed’s Bedrock arena in 2010. Completing the line-up we welcome Berlin’s Bpitch Control label boss Ellen Allien for her SW4 debut, alongside the newly solo, tech-house vibes of Technasia and British sensation Mat Playford.

cirex dOne of the most respected and seminal record labels in the industry, it is a great honour that Adam Beyer has chosen South West Four to host the next instalment of Drumcode in the capital. The uber techno lord will be joined by VERY special guest and fellow Swede Eric Prydz, playing under his Cirez D guise for the very first time. Legendary UK techno duo Slam have travelled far and wide in the past but debut at SW4 this summer with a live performance that is sure to get the pulses racing. The techno showcase continues with the brilliant Paul Ritch. His DJ sets and production have seen his popularity rise the world over, much like Ben Sims who also plays. The ‘3 deck master’ is one of the UK’s biggest techno exports and we’re delighted to have him flying the flag. Drumcode’s very own Alan Fitzpatrick also joins the line-up with a much anticipated live performance, whilst Ida Engberg completes the bill bringing her relentless passion to South West London.
