To celebrate Egg London’s newly refurbished club there was only one thing for it, a private knee’s up that was done in style.
Guests of the club were welcomed with champagne on arrival with access to a free bar for the full duration of the press party. With the drinks flowing well and the DJ mixing the tunes, it was a good atmosphere in the newly revamped loft space.
The last 12 months has seen the club expand their dance floor spaces and make grand improvements in sound across the venue. They now boast the installation of the world’s first flipside sound system. The loft space has definitely expanded its dance floor, with emphasis of the more space on the dance floor the more it could be filled up with people looking for a good time.
Just next to the floor was an easy accessible outside space for people to socialise or catch their breath and cool down. Seating around the perimeter of the loft space was positioned in a relaxed style with the lighting also making the venue easy on the eye.
As the loft space started to fill up, it was time for some food as boxes and boxes of freshly made pizza were brought around to all those that needed to line their stomach for the long night ahead. A nice touch and something that was very welcomed by all those attending.
The line-up for the night was one not to be missed. Once the free bar was used to its full potential and the pizza had settled, it was time to wonder downstairs. Yousef’s Circus party was just getting into full swing where also Laurent Garnier and Steve Lawler were both spinning extended sets on the two main floors respectively.
The party would go on throughout the night with the doors shutting at 8am, and the people in attendance knowing they left after having a massive night. A night well played by Egg London, a club that knows how to party in style and look after all those involved.
Examples Ultimate Weekender started off with a bang as the singer raved until there was no roof to touch with all the bouncing involved.
The intimate weekender, for fans close to Example, were treated but also tested to their limits as this type of show takes no prisoners. From the start, hits such as ‘Watch The Sun Come Up’ were majestically played with the roaring crowd obeying Examples plea to show him their ‘Piano Fingers’.
There was barely time for rest as ‘Playing in the Shadows’ was played mid-way through the set that formed a giant mosh pit in the centre of the standing area. The inevitable drum and bass / dubstep drop sent them into a euphoric frenzy.
The intensity was never given up, much to the pleasure of the raucous crowd who just wanted more and more. They were served perfectly with old hits such as ‘Won’t Go Quietly’ and ‘Kickstarts’ and some new songs from Examples 5th album ‘Live Life Living’ released June 23rd 2014.
A stand out song showcased from the new album was ‘Stay With Me’ which outlined positive vibes about the new album. Other songs such as ‘All The Wrong Places’ ‘Only Human’ ‘Take Me As I Am’ and the most latest release ‘Kids Again’ were also included in the energetic set.
The massive finish of ‘Changed The Way You Kiss Me’ that also includes DJ Chuckie’s big Synth remix allows fans to jump so high that they touch the ceiling and are left screaming a sing along as Example leaves the stage.
The show didn’t stop there however as fans flocked to The Village Underground for the after party to see the second Example performance of the night with DJ Wire. A great venue for fans of a ravey background as it set a dark and moody but yet lively atmosphere for the acts that graced the stage until 2am. Example as bouncy as ever mixed his tunes with other favourable dance songs in a 50 minute set.
Example will continue this weekend in the same format with gigs in Manchester and Glasgow. The singer will be a big festival act for the summer 2014 festival season, and will promise to give a brilliant live show and be one not to miss.
R&B upcomer Conor Maynard is the latest artist to join the Osfest 2014 lineup. They will join Union J, Wilkinson, Nina Nesbit, Wiley, Foxes, Neon Jungle, Luke Friend, Elyar Fox and many more.

Chart-topping house upstart Route 94 is on the bill, as is Tania Vulcano, an underground force to be reckoned with, and acclaimed house and techno selector tINI rounds up The Six – but this is only the beginning; Eastern Electrics Festival is curating a lineup of more than 30 acts, soon to be announced.
And now Eastern Electrics Festival can also reveal the location of its new home, Hatfield House in Hertfordshire. Coming to a stately home only 20 minutes outside of London, and only a minute’s walk from Hatfield train station, Eastern Electrics Festival celebrates the very best sounds coming from an electronic music scene that has never been so diverse, exciting or innovative. Providing a majestic setting for an inspirational lineup and rousing party atmosphere, Hatfield House is an impressive backdrop – and a solid home for one of the UK’s most revered electronic music events.
Promoter Rob Star presents the third annual edition of Eastern Electrics Festival this year: “The feedback from the event last year was so good that it made sense to stay in the Hertfordshire countryside, so we decided to relocate to the beautiful Hatfield House. It’s such a great move for us, and comes with the advantage of being right across the road from the train station, so you walk off the train and straight into the festival grounds.
“The new venue also means that we can retain all of the attractions that made last year’s event at Knebworth so special, including the Electric City, the fairground rides, the bespoke stages and our favourite pub the Star of EE. Hatfield House ticks all the boxes for us and we're certain that this will be the first of many Eastern Electrics Festival events here. Welcome to your new EE home!”

Having announced the first wave of artists for this year’s festival including the likes of chart toppers Clean Bandit, indie legend Albert Hammond Jr and breakthrough band Wolf Alice as well as the special Leeds Town Hall show featuring a reformed ¡Forward Russia!, Live At Leeds Festival now announce a further 50 bands to the 2014 lineup!
The additions to the lineup once again promise to showcase everything from the best in up coming UK songwriting talent to hotly tipped groups from both sides of the pond!
With an emphasis on the up and coming, the festival will see Manchester-based star in the making Bipolar Sunshine bring his sublime, upbeat and original pop to the festival. 2013 saw him collaborate with the likes of Rudimental and FTSE and this is bound to be a year of even further breakthrough for the young musician. Also joining the lineup and in a similar camp of luscious, soulful pop are the hotly tipped recent Kitsuné signees Years & Years, the electro-pop trio’s recent Hype Machine topping single ‘Real’ caused waves and points to what will surely be a successful year. The elegant, fragile sounds of London via Kendal four-piece Woman’s Hour will also be bringing the painful longing of their upcoming Secretly Canadian debut album to the festival and are not to be missed whilst The Bug’s noise loving dancehall and hip-hop influenced electronica is sure to get people moving. Having been longlisted for the prestigious BBC Sound Of 2014 poll, Bristol singer songwriter George Ezra will also be bringing the tender sounds of his single ‘Budapest’ to the fest whilst fellow act to watch out for in 2014, Fat White Family will be peddling their intense brand of sleazy and visceral rock n roll.
Festival attendees with a penchant for the heavier side of things will also certainly have their tastes catered for. The Finnish apocalyptic post-punk quartet Beastmilk favour huge riffs and equal sizeable with a gothic and metallic twinge that is sure to appeal to fans of Savages and Queens Of The Stone Age alike as showcased on last years Kurt Ballou produced full length ‘Climax’. New York’s Big Ups will also be on hand to bring their frantic, abrasive 90s influenced punk to the festival. Echoes of the Jesus Lizard, Fugazi and Quicksand peppered this year’s debut full length ‘Eighteen Hours of Static’ and with a live show even more energetic than their recorded output, they are sure to be a highlight of the weekend.
Blurring the boundary between solo artist and band, Nottingham’s 18 year old Saint Raymond has a knack for layering his distinctly pop sensibilities with gritty, honest lyrics and a wisdom well beyond his years that has seen him gain a level of attention that is sure to grow. With a similar ear for a pop melody but with their feet more solidly in the indie/rock camp, Californians The Neighbourhood last year revealed their debut album ‘I Love You’ to much praise and having recently supported seemingly unstoppable group The 1975 on their sold out tour are sure to make their presence known in the UK this year. Joining these will be Leeds very own The Sunshine Underground who with a new album due will be bringing their fusion of punk, indie and electronic music to the festival!
Skream says: "I’m extremely proud/excited/over the moon to be able to say I'm hosting a tent at Bestival this year! I’ve been playing at Bestival for the last 4/5 years (I think), and to be able to say I took Skreamizm there, I'll die a happy man!"
Taking it back to the source, Skreamizm is all about ace tunes on fat soundsystems, like it should be. Bringing the unmistakably ecstatic vibes of funky little sweatboxes where the real action is, we’re over the moon that Skreamizm is coming to blow away Bollywood at Bestival on Friday 5th September. Blazing his own trail, Skream, AKA Oliver Jones’, recent Rollercoaster joint smashed disco into the future, so it’s more than fitting that he will be adding his own inimitable style to our Desert Island Disco.
Also adding his not inconsiderable presence to Skreamizm at Bestival is Chicago house leviathan Derrick Carter! Quite simply one of the greats, Derrick Carter’s sets are as edifying as they are electrifying, taking in underground house, soul, jazz and, of course, disco. His own ‘Derrick Carter Does Disco’ sessions have had dancefloor aficionados and those in the know begging for more, so this rare treat, as Derrick joins Skreamizm to dig deep into his crate of disco classics, makes it a total honour for us to welcome him back to Bestival.
Completing the Skreamizm line-up at Bestival will be current UK singles chart number 1, Route94 who has long enjoyed support from Skream, and knows his way around a massive banger or two and long-time Bestival party favourites Horse Meat Disco who will pump pure joy out of the soundsystem and into your bones.
