All Points East announce more incredible special guests for LCD Soundsystem headline show

The phenomenal LCD Soundsystem will headline Uber One presents All Points East on Friday 23 August 2024. Supported by an exceptional line-up, with more names revealed today including Joy (Anonymous), The Kills, NewDad, Joe Goddard (Live), MS Paint, Monobloc, Dove Ellis and Nick Ward. They join previously announced special guests Jai Paul, Pixies, Floating Points, Jockstrap, Nation of Language, Sofia Kourtesis (Live), Eyedress and Vagabon. Tickets on sale here.

Joy (Anonymous) aren’t just an electronic dance duo – they’re a sonic journey, inviting audiences to lose themselves in the music and find solace in the collective joy of the dance floor. Having established themselves during the Covid-19 era by playing impromptu meet-ups on London’s South Bank, they have graduated to bigger venues and, to further celebrate the community they’ve built together, they released their second album, Cult Classics, in 2023. Described by NME as “pure musical serotonin”, Joy (Anonymous), aka Henry Counsell and Louis Curran, have since been touring the world with the record, already hinting they are working on their “next chapter”. We can’t wait to welcome them back to All Point East this August.

A minimalist duo with maximum impact, The Kills strip rock ‘n’ roll down to its rawest essence and reinvent it with each release. When they appeared during the early 2000s garage rock revival, Jamie Hince‘s eloquently jagged guitar playing and Alison Mosshart‘s ability to snarl and sigh with equal conviction created sparks. They’ve since tallied hundreds of millions of streams across albums such as Keep On Your Mean Side [2003], No Wow [2005], Midnight Boom [2008], and Blood Pressures [2011]. In 2023, they released God Games, further etching the marks they’ve made on bending genres and pushing musical boundaries. The Kills have emerged as international rock stars, setting the pace for the genre, shaping this era’s sound, and redefining what rock music can be in the 21st century.

Plus NewDad, indie rock band from Galway – alternately fuzzy, shimmery, and rumbling, NewDad put a weary, intimate spin on 1980s and ’90s alt rock inspirations. Led by the airy, tepid vocals of Julie Dawson, the group released their debut EP, Waves, in 2021 to much acclaim in their native Ireland. As their popularity grew, they followed their second EP, 2022’s Banshee, with their full-length debut MADRA in 2024.

Performing live will be Joe Goddard, best known as a member of the English synth-pop band Hot Chip. Hot off the heels of his third solo album Harmonics, due for release on 12 July, this will be one of the first opportunities to hear the new record – which features appearances from Hayden Thorpe, Alabaster DePlume, Tom McFarland of Jungle and his Hot Chip bandmates Alexis Taylor and Al Doyle.

Also announced today are experimental American rock band MSPAINT, post-punk New Yorkers Monobloc, alternative R&B singer Dove Ellis, and bedroom-pop Australian breakthrough musician Nick Ward.

LCD Soundsystem are one of the US’s most acclaimed and influential bands. Starting out in 2002 and driven by the vision of James Murphy, they released multiple singles in the lead up to their acclaimed self-titled debut – including the signature song ‘Losing My Edge’ and the timeless ‘Daft Punk Is Playing At My House’.
Their sophomore album, 2007’s Sound of Silver, garnered even more critical praise and topped multiple best-of-the-year lists, putting LCD Soundsystem firmly at the head of the neo-disco class. With tracks like ‘New York I Love You But You’re Bringing Me Down’ showing their more poignant side, the record is also home to ‘All My Friends’, named by Pitchfork as the second-greatest song of the entire 2000s.

The band became a huge live draw over the years and, after the release of their third studio album, This Is Happening, their first Top 10 album in the US, LCD Soundsystem sold out Madison Square Garden in 2011 for a farewell show. To fans’ delight, they re-formed, and returned with the vintage-sounding American Dream in 2017.
In the years that followed, the band played multiple concert residencies, including a six-night stint at Brixton’s O2 Academy in 2022. That same year they cranked out ‘New Body Rhumba’, a dancefloor-filling single with their trademark sharp edge. Last year, James Murphy explained that the band were stepping out of the usual touring cycle and recently announced 12 dates around New York City, leaving them time to also work on new music, while promising, “Maybe we’ll just play other places next year, moving around to cities we like to play, where we’re wanted, etc.”

Always in demand in London, having headlined at All Points East’s first year in 2018, LCD Soundsystem never disappoint, and we cannot wait to welcome them back to Victoria Park this summer.

Andre 3000, Lianne La Havas + more special guests announced for Loyle Carner at All Points East

London’s celebrated music festival Uber One presents All Points East is excited to welcome the revered artist and inimitable live performer Loyle Carner, coming to Victoria Park on Saturday 17 August. Loyle co-curated the East, West and North Stages, and will be joined by an incredible supporting line-up revealed today: including André 3000, Lianne La Havas, Flying Lotus, Cymande, Glass Beams, berlioz (DJ set), Nubya Garcia, Songer, Lola Young, MRCY, Dana and Alden and Bricknasty.

These huge names are in addition to previously announced special guests Nas, Ezra Collective, Sainté, Joe James, ENNY and Navy Blue.

Best known as one half of the hip-hop duo OutKast, alongside rapper Big Boi, the legendary André 3000 is widely recognised for his unique and innovative approach to music, incorporating various genres into OutKast’s sound, including hip-hop, funk, soul, and jazz. André 3000 gained fame in the 1990s as OutKast released a series of critically acclaimed albums, such as ATLiens and Aquemini. The duo came into prominence with their 2003 double album Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, which featured the global hit single ‘Hey Ya!’ and showcased André’s versatility, blending elements of R&B, funk, and pop.

Last year, André 3000 shook the musical world with the release of New Blue Sun. His first solo debut album and first musical release in nearly two decades saw André 3000 switch out the singing and rapping he was known for with Outkast, to defy expectations with experimental flute playing. Co-produced with percussionist Carlos Niño, it also featured contributions from keyboardist Surya Botofasina and guitarist Nate Mercereau. Many of those featured on the record joined André for a run of US shows earlier this year, marking his first tour outside of Outkast – and we are extremely excited that he’s now bringing this show to the UK.

All Points East will be his first UK show in a decade and the first place to hear the brilliant and critically-acclaimed instrumental album. Of the new surprise record, Pitchfork said “The rapper and now flautist’s debut solo album is an 87-minute devotional to new age, ambient jazz, and spiritual discovery. It’s beautiful, demanding, and among the most fascinating artistic left turns in recent memory.”

English singer/songwriter and guitarist Lianne La Havas arrived in the early 2010s with a mostly acoustic and hushed hybrid of alternative folk and soul. Influenced by the likes of Lauryn Hill and Nina Simone, she found success with the release of her debut album, Is Your Love Big Enough?, which reached No. 5 in the UK and earned her a nomination for the BBC Sound of 2012 poll. She has continued to refine her increasingly distinctive style with Blood (2015), a No. 2 UK hit nominated for a Grammy, and her third LP, Lianne La Havas (2020).

Steve Ellison, known to the world as Flying Lotus, is a Grammy-nominated musician, filmmaker, and founder of the Brainfeeder label. A sonic and visual storyteller, we’ve heard and seen the sights and sounds of the worlds he’s built over the course of six genre-redefining studio albums, a collection of surreal music videos, and through his own film projects like the experimental horror comedy anthology Kuso. In a revitalised LA music scene that saw hip-hop, jazz, a burgeoning beat culture, and electronic music co-mingling, Flying Lotus was at the centre of it all – he lent his talents to transplants too, collaborating with and influencing friends and fellow iconoclasts including Mac Miller and Donald Glover, all the while bringing the sounds of the LA scene from the fringes to the mainstream.

Described as “spiritual…versatile…smooth, sweet and very different”, no-one has yet to sum up the unique sound of Cymande in one simple word or phrase. Nyah-Rock, Afro-Rock, even Calypso Rock have been used to categorise their music, but Cymande is just simply Cymande. Formed over 40 years ago by Steve Scipio and Patrick Patterson, the band was made up of nine self-taught Caribbean born, London based musicians. Cymande, who continue to reach new audiences and are being embraced by yet another breed of fan, are currently working on new music to be released later in 2024 – let’s hope All Points East gets a first listen!

Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, Glass Beams have attracted attention not only for their swirling riffs – a mix of hypnotic Western psychedelia and the style and instrumentation of Indian music – but for their striking on-stage personas as well, hidden behind gold-plated masks. It wasn’t until shortly before the release of the group’s second EP, 2024’s Mahal, that the band’s leader chose to make his identity known: songwriter/guitarist Rajan Silva. As the founding member, Silva formed a trio with two as-yet unidentified musicians to form Glass Beams.

This special Saturday in Victoria Park will also see a DJ set from the mysterious berlioz, plus a performance from one of the progenitors of 21st century British jazz, Nubya Garcia. Also on the bill is Songer, Lola Young, MRCY, Dana and Alden, and Bricknasty.

Loyle Carner has graced massive festival shows and venues across the UK and beyond in 2023, with the Wembley OVO Arena in London a career standout. This was followed by a string of packed out festival appearances over the summer, including a headline slot at Glastonbury’s West Holts stage,  Primavera Sound and most recently, the legendary Royal Albert Hall. All Points East follows a string of rapidly sold-out shows across the capital, and will be a continuation and evolution of his esteemed live performance legacy.
With multiple Mercury and Brits nominations, NME Awards and appearances in global brand campaigns, Carner has had an undoubtedly meteoric rise to the top, culminating with his critically lauded 2022 album hugo charting at No. 3 in the UK album chart.

Known for immensely engaging live performances and collaborations with other notable acts, Carner played a significant role in the UK rap scene’s growth and evolution. His impact on music, his dedication to important causes and his continued contributions to the industry have solidified his reputation as a respected and influential figure in British music. With over 790 million global streams – 338 million from the UK – over 657,000 album sales, more than 40 million YouTube views and over 800,000 social media followers, Loyle Carner continues to stake his claim as one of the most accomplished British rappers in history. The All Points East performance is his only London live date for 2024 and is going to be his biggest yet.

All Points East announce The Postal Service and Death Cab For Cutie – 2024

Uber One presents All Points East is excited to announce the next co-headline acts for 2024: The Postal Service and Death Cab for Cutie will be coming to Victoria Park on Sunday 25 August, plus many more acts to be announced. This will be The Postal Service’s first appearance in London for over 10 years, so All Points East next summer will be an incredibly special celebration of two groups who defined an era and are held in the hearts of music fans across the world.

To celebrate two decades of Give Up and Transatlanticism, The Postal Service and Death Cab for Cutie have joined forces for an unprecedented 20th anniversary co-headline tour. Now heading back to London, this show will continue the huge anniversary celebrations. Each night, Benjamin Gibbard, the co-founder of both bands, will pull double duty performing with The Postal Service – comprised of Gibbard, Jimmy Tamborello, and Jenny Lewis – as well as with Death Cab for Cutie (alongside Nick Harmer, Dave Depper, Zac Rae, and Jason McGerr). The extraordinary show will see both iconic groups performing their seminal 2003 albums in full.

Death Cab for Cutie has made an enduring mark on the indie pop scene and helped to define the emo genre of the early 2000s. Gibbard’s emotive, introspective lyricism helped shape a generation, and with multiple GRAMMY and MTV nominations, he remains a consistent influence for many indie fans and bands.

Having released a remarkable 10 studio albums, the group are a staggering force with breadth on their side. Their latest album Asphalt Meadows was released last year to critical acclaim, with SPIN Magazine calling it “Their best album in years.” Gibbard can still unlock that creative sensitivity that spread across many of their earlier albums, and this is proven in this latest record.

The Postal Service will be returning to London for the first time in a decade, 10 years on from their last anniversary tour. Consisting of singer Ben Gibbard, producer Jimmy Tamborello of Dntel, and backing singer Jenny Lewis, Give Up achieved platinum status in 2003, and has since garnered a cult following.

Tamborello and Gibbard first worked together in 2001 on Tamborello’s Dntel project. From there, the duo continued to collaborate via mail – where they got their name – with Tamborello sending instrumental tracks and Gibbard adding guitars, vocals and lyrics. The results were packaged into the group’s only album, Give Up on the Sub Pop label.

The project was a cornerstone of both musicians’ enduring success, and it is for this reason that its legacy lives on 20 years later. It’s an honour to have both groups for this very unique and special performance at Uber One presents All Points East next summer.
