Unless you’ve had your head buried in the sand for the last five decades, the godfather of theatrical rock needs no introduction, and needless to say, organisers are delighted to have such a prolific and legendary artist join the BLOODSTOCK line up. Festival booker Vicky Gregory comments:
"As Bloodstock organisers but more importantly Huge fans of Alice Cooper, we are thrilled to have such an iconic artist close proceedings on the Sunday night! We have been after Alice for a number of years and are extremely excited to see him grace the Ronnie James Dio stage and guarantee this will be a performance not to be missed"
An ALICE COOPER concert is always a memorable event, and there are few artists out there capable of putting on such a thrillingly entertaining show. BLOODSTOCK attendees are in for quite a treat if the recent shows are anything to go by. From the moment he takes to the stage as a giant spider your senses are assaulted with fireworks, mock executions, simulated sex (with the dead of course), snakes, monsters and zombies, asALICE delivers hit after hit from his decades long career.
With a back catalogue that includes timeless classic such as “Schools’s Out”, “No More Mr Nice Guy”, “Welcome To My Nightmare”, “Hey Stoopid”, “Feed My Frankenstein” and recent single “I’ll Bite Your Face Off”, ALICE’s set at BLOODSTOCK will be impossible to not enjoy, and will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of the festival’s history for many years to come.
With a world class headliner already in place and two more to be announced – as well as over 100 bands from across the world of hard rock and metal – there is no festival offering better value, with four day weekend camping tickets available at just £90 if booked before 15th December.
BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR 2012 takes place at Catton Hall August 9th – 12th. Four day camping tickets for next year’s event are available now at bloodstock.uk.com for just £90 (plus booking fee) until 15th December.
With Early Bird tickets SOLD OUT the 2012 line-up is sure to excite, including the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Jamie Jones, Annie Mac, Pearson Sound, Erol Alkan,Claude Von Stroke, Skream, Skrillex, Four Tet & Caribou and many more confirmed to appear. With increased capacity, added parties and more, Hideout 2012 is cementing its position as the biggest new European dance festival in the calendar; truly giving Ibiza a run-for-its-money as the hottest destination in the world for electronic and dance music.
Having completely sold out of all 7,000 tickets for this summer’s inaugural event and due to the extreme demand electronic music fans across the UK
and Europe, Hideout Festival capacity in 2012 is being increased and a fourth venue is being added to the festival. In addition to Papaya,Aquarius 1 and Aquarius 2 dance fans will also be able to experience their favourite artists, producers and DJs in Kalypso, Zcre Beach’s most infamous nightclub, right next to the sea and surrounded by palm trees adding an exciting new dimension to the festival layout. In addition to this, to accommodate the extra capacity, Hideout Festival will now have even more apartments available in the town of Novaljia and surrounding areas – just down the road from the action and right next to all the bars, pubs, restaurants and the beach.
In line with the festival’s rapid expansion, the team behind Hideout Festival 2012 are pulling out all the stops with the music programme and are proud to present what will be one of the biggest line-ups of dance and electronic artists anywhere in the world. Sound Channel and The Warehouse Project are delighted to be welcome Chilean minimal tech genius Ricardo Villalobos, who will be making his debut at Hideout Festival next year. Joining Ricardo in the minimal tech and deep house corner are Crosstown Rebels contingent including Jamie Jones andDamian Lazarus both of which appeared at last year’s Hideout. Robert James is returning this year to resonate the Hideout airwaves with his underground house and techno joined by forward thinking Soul Clap who will bring their creative genius to the shores of Croatia as they remix to the rising sun.
Also confirmed for debut appearances at Hideout Festival 2012 is one half of Magnetic Man, Skream and Artwork, and drum ‘n’ bass legendsHype and DJ Fresh, none of which needs any introduction, while dubstep superstar de jour Skrillex has confirmed to make a very special appearance at Hideout next year. Jack Beats will be back once more, the multiple award winning DJ duo made up of Niall Dailly (DJ Plus One of Scratch Perverts fame) and Ben Geffin (The Mixologists), will no doubt cause dance floor mayhem.
Elsewhere in the line-up some familiar faces return to Hideout Festival 2012 having debuted at this year’s inaugural event. Annie Mac, Erol Alkan, Julio Bashmore and Andy C have all been confirmed for next year’s bigger and better festival while Hideout Festival is excited to be welcoming for the first time the much-loved purveyors of eclectic electronic Four Tet & Caribou, Norwegian ‘space disco’ pioneer Prins Thomas, David Kennedy’s Pearson Sound, dirtybird records founder and all-round nice guy Claude VonStroke and New Boston upstart Kyle Hall.
French icon, Brodinski is set for Hideout Festival 2012, bringing with him his eclectic taste in everything electronic; unlike his Parisian piers, Louis Brodinski encompasses all from noisy techno to heavy house, ensuring clubbers will never know what is coming. After much success in the Drum and Bass game, Camo and Krooked will hit Hideout Festival this year, the two producers are now opening their minds up to a whole lot of their past influences, exploring deep house and techno, Hideout Festival is most definitely in for a treat. Adding once again to the experimental feel of Hideout Festival 2012 is Maceo Plex, who is on a mission to bring feeling to the electronic genre, pioneering a totally new sound his presence ensures Hideout Festivals credentials once more.
Benjamin Pettit, better known as DJ Zinc will be bringing the crack house experience at Hideout Festival 2012. Hot Natured resident and part of the Hot Creations inner circle, home-grown talent Richy Ahmed is hotly tipped by our personal favourites such as Jamie Jones, making him a must see at this year’s festival. Canadian born Heidi will also be debuting this year at Hideout Festival.
Large scale parties will be hosted throughout the festival by the likes of Crosstown Rebels, Manchester’s Drop The Mustard, London’s prolificMulletover and more will join the cream of clubbing to spread Hideout into a weeklong party. Hideout Festival will see so much more than a three day electronic extravaganza, a single £99 festival ticket includes pre-parties that kickoff from 26th June and continue all the way up to 29th June, meaning clubbers can expect a week long music epidemic all for much less than a UK festival ticket.

The Boomtown architects have plans fully underway for reshaping, renovating and renewing the town for the Fair’s annual pilgrimage. With expansion plans afoot to take over some of the wasteland on the outskirts of town, 2012 will see the festival grow into its surroundings and squeeze in even more weird and wonderful shenanigans!
Boomtown Fair is unlike any other festival: the legend of Boomtown tells it was once a small but prosperous retreat now overhauled into a land of lawless rebels, with only the town official’s to uphold its former glory. The 2011 event saw the festival sell out for a third time in its three year history with the festival goers brining as much of the entertainment to the show as the organisers.
With so much packed into the small town, last year’s highlights included; majestic headliner Gogol Bordello, late night shenanigans from the Arcadia crew in their custom built roaming ‘Bug’ stage, dance-offs, marriages and body shaking bass round the clock from Bassline Circus and The Lion’s Den!
Roll up, roll up for cheap tickets for the 2012 Fair, more details about next year’s show will be revealed over the next few months so watch this space..
BLOODSTOCK has got off to an incredible start with ANVIL, PARADISE LOST, WATAIN and ORANGE GOBLIN already confirmed, and this latest announcement only serves to reinforce what the organisers have proven since it’s inception – that each year will be bigger and better than the previous one.
On the RONNIE JAME DIO main stage, Norwegian Black Metal superstars DIMMU BORGIR return toBLOODSTOCK for their only UK show of 2012, taking next year’s first Special Guest slot. Undoubtedly Norway’s biggest Black Metal export, DIMMU BORGIR are one of the scene’s leaders, seamlessly blending ferocious metal with epic classical orchestration to create one of extreme music’s most instantly identifiable sounds. Gearing up for a very special UK tour next month, the band took time out from rehearsals to tell us:
"We are extremely excited to be a part of next year´s Bloodstock festival. It will be great to reconnect with our UK based friends and fans and party up a storm!"
Joining them are hardcore metal heroes HATEBREED. Ultra-aggressive and punishingly heavy, aHATEBREED show will demand – and command – your undivided attention with their brutal, boot-to-the-teeth heaviness. This Connecticut hardcore/metal institution has been demolishing its way around the globe since 1994. Not many bands can enjoy that kind of longevity, but HATEBREED have made being a “career band” look easy, gracing countless magazine covers, performing at some of the biggest metal festivals around the world and even receiving a Grammy nomination. Says band leader/vocalist Jamey Jasta of their only UK show of 2012:
"We're all very excited to play Bloodstock. It's fast becoming one of the best festivals for extreme music and this year's line up is going to crush. We are honoured to share the stage with such awesome bands and happy that we can come and play for our UK die hards!"
Another band who’s only UK performance of 2012 will be on BLOODSTOCK’s RONNIE JAMES DIO stage are none other than CORROSION OF CONFORMITY – or C.O.C for the initiated – who bring their original line up to CATTON HALL for a very special set. Together again after 25 years, Reed Mullin, Woody Weatherman and Mike Dean reunite to bring the spirit of 1985 to Derbyshire, with tracks from their hugely influential crossover classic “Animosity”. Says bassist Mike Dean:
"How can you go wrong playing at a festival with the main stage named for Ronnie James Dio?!!!"
Over on the SOPHIE LANCASTER stage, British Black metal BruisersANAAL NATHRAKH make their only UK festival performance of 2012. Created for one purpose – to be the soundtrack for armageddon, the audial essence of evil, hatred and violence, the true spirit of necro taken to its musical extremes – ANNAL NATHRAKH have released four albums to rapturous acclaim, and boast collaborations with such legendary figures as Attila Csihar (Mayhem), Shane Embury and Danny Herrera (Napalm Death), Nick Barker (Testament, Dimmu Borgir), Joe Horvath (Circle of Dead Children), and BLOODSTOCK fellow Sethlans Teitan (Watain). With appearances on BBC Radio 1 at the personal behest of sadly missed icon John Peel, a headline set at Inferno Festival in Norway, countless placings in ‘best album of the year’ polls and album of the month awards in the press, as well as cover appearances on leading magazines such as Terrorizer on their CV, ANAAL NATHRAKH’s status as one of the leading lights in extreme metal is undeniable. Says the band of their overdue appearance at Britain’s only true outdoor metal festival:
“It's been a long time coming, but finally the planets seem to be in the correct alignment for us to disgrace a stage at Bloodstock. We will also be sicking up a new album in the run up to the festival, so Bloodstock will likely be something of a release celebration/commiseration. Horrific. Good.”
BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR 2012 takes place at Catton Hall August 9th – 12th. Four day camping tickets for next year’s event are available now atbloodstock.uk.com for just £90 (plus booking fee) until xmas.
