Says Ubi Hernandez, Music Director and Partner, “We’re extremely excited to be back at what’s become our home – The National Hotel Pool Parties during Miami Music Week. After a highly successful 2019 campaign featuring shows by MK and his Area 10 brand, Descend Records and more this year we’re buzzing to be welcoming two new additions in the form of Ibiza powerhouse ANTS and the esteemed underground crew Shadows run by Magdelena. Our lineups were pretty stacked last year, but this year we’ve really outdone ourselves and we look forward to unleashing some massive lineups soon. We look forward to seeing you poolside!”

Things kick off with a special Miami Music Week 2020 opening pool party on Wednesday, March 18th. It sees local Miami label Descend Records continue to ride a strong wave of momentum and return after last year’s showcase with label boss ALX alongside very special guests from Second State, Filth on Acid and Form, as well as techno maestro Julian Jeweil and Oscar L.

Then it is Thursday, March 19th when dub house legend MK presents The Area 10 Pool Party. This one sold out last year and sees the Detroit house hero return with another huge line up featuring himself plus Repopulate Mars main man Lee Foss, frequent collaborator and the voice of house, Annabel Englund, tech house trendsetters Leftwing:Kody, plus KC Lights, Martin Ikin, Nightlapse, Weiss and a very special guest to come.

Friday, March 20th is a much anticipated US Debut show for Magdalena, whose Shadows party has made a huge splash in Ibiza in recent times. As such this is a real coup for the crew and will feature the melodic house and techno star herself plus former Dynamic label mate and fryhide founder HOSH plus more Ibiza talents in the form of Audiofly, while Oona Dahl and Bryan Estefani also line up with one special guest to come.

Last, but certainly not least, ANTS Ibiza takes over the Miami Music Week 2019 Closing Party at The National Hotel on March 22nd after another headline making season in Ibiza with deeper, darker and more underground vibes which will surely make for an unforgettable experience which only ANTS production can provide. If you’ve been to their parties in Ibiza then you already know what all the hype is about. All the legendary party’s main players are in town with Andrea Oliva, Francisco Allendes B2B Franky Rizardo, Ilario Alicante, Joris Voorn and Matthias Tanzmann B2B Martin Buttrich all bring the best in tech house and techno.

NEW DANCE MUSIC FESTIVAL ‘ACROPOLIS’ TO FEATURE AT UNIQUE MEDIEVAL CASTLE IN DERBYSHIRE.

JBM Music continues to push the boundaries of the UK events industry, announcing their eagerly anticipated new festival, ‘Acropolis’, set to take place at the medieval location of Tutbury Castle; the first ever techno event to be held in a castle within the UK.

Located on the banks of Staffordshire, the ancient monument of Tutbury Castle possesses a rich legacy which stretches back many centuries, with Mary Queen of Scots even held prisoner in the iconic venue during the 16th century. Packing people into the historic location – overlooking the River Dove in the Derbyshire hills – ‘Acropolis’ will see party goers descend on the Castle across 10 hours of madness on Saturday 2nd May.

With the inaugural edition of Acropolis sure to go off with a bang, the finest all-star billing of underground dance talent has been assembled to play at the extraordinary landmark location, with ‘We Are The Brave’ founder Alan Fitzpatrick, and larger-than-life Bristolian Eats Everything both in attendance. They’ll be joined by eclectic selector Enzo Siragusa, hugely popular Mancunian production trio Mason Collective, and dynamic Londoner PAWSA, as well as full range of TBA support.

Founded by British duo Jorge Meehan & Brian Murphy, behemoth events business JBM Music continues to rapidly grow, following a mammoth 2019, in which the company staged 64 huge music events and festivals across the country, booking a remarkable 328 artists for a combined total of more than 53,000 people. With 2020 promising to prove the biggest year to date for the fast-evolving events brand, JBM Music will introduce 7 brand-new festivals this year, with Acropolis Festival serving as one of the most innovative and highly anticipated to date.

With people from all over the country gathering to unite in the iconic location of Tutbury Castle, tickets for this one are sure to sell-out fast, and are available on via Skiddle: http://bit.ly/AcropolisMay2

Sziget 2020 announce huge lineup

Sziget makes its first 2020 announcement as one of the world’s biggest and most diverse festival line-ups to date with Calvin Harris, Dua Lipa, Kings Of Leon, Major Lazer and The Strokes plus over seventy-five more massive names across the seven day celebration on The Island of Freedom. Sziget is the fifth largest festival in the world and takes place on 5-11 August 2020, in the heart of Budapest on Óbuda Island. Other artists locked to play include Anna Calvi, A$AP Rocky, Denzel Curry, Diplo, FKA twigs, Foals, Kaytranada, Khalid, Lewis Capaldi, Mabel, Slowthai, Stormzy and more. Tickets available now from €199 and can be bought online:  szigetfestival.com (prices due to change of 3 March 2020).

Over the years Sziget has played host to some of the most prestigious names in music, including the likes of David Bowie, Oasis, The Stone Roses, Iggy Pop, Radiohead, Arctic Monkeys, Sex Pistols and Kendrick Lamar.

The massive 80 act announcement showcases a wide variety of musical genres that Sziget has always been beloved and well known for. Ranging from stadium rock to trap, from singer-songwriter to folktronica, from funk to psychedelic pop providing the hottest names for each style. The party literally never stops across the 7 days. The festival even has a beach within the festival where you can relax and cool down under Budapest’s hot summer sun.

Returning to Sziget for 2020 is certified hit-maker Calvin Harris who boasts hit collaborations with some of the world’s biggest stars. The BRIT Award and GRAMMY recognised Scottish DJ, producer and song-writer needs no introduction having been famed for bringing a massive atmosphere to his live performances. Some of Calvin Harris’s modern dance classics include songs like Rihanna’s ‘We Found Love’, Dua Lipa’s ‘One Kiss’ and Sam Smith’s ‘Promises’ amongst an abundance of others.

Sziget will open their arms with a wide welcome back for multi-award winning Kosovo-born Londoner, Dua Lipa, after her debut in 2018. As one of the most streamed female artists in the world and now dubbed the Madonna of Generation Z, the pop sensation colossus has a multitude of futuristic disco bangers that she accompanies with jazzercise-style dance routines bringing a standout live performance. With a stack of floor-filling hits including ‘One Kiss’, ‘New Rules’ and ‘Electricity’ Dua Lipa already has two UK No.1’s at the age of 24 with no signs of slowing down those chart rulings.

Kings Of Leon are another act preparing to take to the Sziget stage for the second time after their crowd-wowing performance in 2015. Having emerged onto the scene early in the new millennium, the Nashville band have gone on to build an enormous global fan base releasing multiple-platinum selling albums and becoming undeniably one of the biggest bands in the world. After achieving critical acclaim for their first two albums (Youth and Young Manhood and Aha Shake Heartbreak), Kings of Leon have bounded to stadium status with further breakthrough albums, and cult hits such as – ‘Use Somebody’, ‘Sex On Fire’ and ‘The Bucket’.

Sziget will be graced with two performances from three-time GRAMMY winner Diplo – one solo show and one as part of the infamous Jamaican-American electronic dance trio, Major Lazer who are also set to light up the Hungarian-stage ahead of their upcoming final studio album. The genre-blending, party-starting collaborators have given the world a decade of some of the most iconic beats across music today with enormous influence on electronic acts such as Justin Bieber and Ellie Goulding. Major Lazer are famed for their highly energetic and entertaining performances – expect dancers!

Coinciding with a brand new album in 2020, New York indie legends The Strokes will be grabbing their guitars for a hit-guaranteed appearance at this year’s Sziget. Having laid low for the last decade the new album will be The Strokes’ first LP since their 2013 smash, Comedown Machine. Often credited with having spearheaded a revival of 1960s-style garage rock during the early 2000’s, The Strokes will return with a bang this year, blessing the Sziget mainstage in the process.

More than just its massive host of musicians, Sziget brings together a programme of theatre, cabaret, installations, performances and art. Set in the heart of Budapest on Óbuda Island, Sziget is a true city within the city with its 500,000+ Szitizens attending from over 100 countries each year.  Sziget invites you to explore, get lost and find yourself again on The Island of Freedom.

Planet Paradigm Announces Full Line-up For 2020

Cult favourite forest festival Planet Paradigm is back once again for third magical getaway. This one day trip goes down deep in the Groningen woods on May 23rd 2020 with the likes of Zip, DJ Masda, SIT (Cristi Cons & Vlad Caia), Onur Özer, Junki Inoue, Ferro B2B Benny Rodrigues, Abstract Division, Reiss, DJ Orchid B2B UlsT and many more all providing the stylish and stripped back soundtrack for a surreal intergalactic getaway.

VBX is hugely well respected in the underground dance world. The parties they throw in places like Amsterdam are always packed with proper music lovers thanks to the tasteful line-ups assembled. Each one mixes a crack team of residents with hot stars of the day and bona-fide legends. The team knows their local Amsterdam scene inside out and back to front and have a stylish minimal aesthetic to all they do, which means the music is always the main star. They know the best venues and put on legendary parties during ADE.

Meanwhile, once an abandoned warehouse, Paradigm is an important cultural hub located in a rural area of the northern Netherlands that has its own rich rave history. They also host their own wonderfully immersive festivals that create a space where you can be yourself and express yourself freely in a community with people from all walks of life.

Once a year these two behemoths come together to create a unique one-day opening to Planet Paradigm. This cultural phenomenon is a close-knit affair with real music lovers and has sold out each and every time. It always takes in headliners who contribute their own classy, left-of-centre sounds to help visitors reach a higher state of consciousness by triggering all six senses from sunup until way past sundown. The surroundings are mystical, too, with unconventionally designed stages such as the Forest Stage, Dome Stage, Romney Stage and Club all immersing you in an escapist realm that feels many miles away from everyday life.

Like last year’s showcase, aural and visual senses will be pleased in particular with all flavours of left leaning house, techno and electro from deep diggers like Zip and Onur Özer, Cabaret Records co-founder and Japanese favourite DJ Masda, taste making minimalists SIT (Cristi Cons & Vlad Caia), a live show from French wonderkid Sweely, mysterious Rotterdam techno talent Tafkamp, special back to backs from Paradigm and VBX legends like Ferro and Benny Rodrigues, with more from Abstract Division, Reiss, DJ Orchid B2B UlsT,Colin B2B Roy Lodder and much more.

BLOODSTOCK CONFIRM SEVEN MORE BANDS; ANNOUNCE ON SITE GAMING ARENA & CELEBRATE 100K YOUTUBE SUBSCRIBERS

As the number of months left to BLOODSTOCK 2020 reaches the half-way point, festival HQ shows no signs of slowing down with booking bands and making plans to make BLOODSTOCK’s 20th anniversary year the biggest and boldest yet! With a YouTube 100k subscriber milestone achieved this month too, there’s a brand new competition you can win weekend tickets in, as well as news about the exciting gaming arena debuting at BLOODSTOCK this year, and go on then, seven more bands to announce as well…
Brit thrash luminaries, ACID REIGN are set for a Friday slot on the Ronnie James Dio main stage!  Having rebooted the band in 2015 after a 24 year hiatus, frontman H tells us, “Anyone who witnessed our 2016 show on the Sophie stage knows exactly how much we love playing BLOODSTOCK.  There is a lot of excitement in the AR camp right now, we finally got a new album out after all these years (29 to be exact) and now we get to put a BLOODSTOCK sized cherry on the top of that cake. Can’t wait to see you all there!”  The band released that long-awaited album, ‘The Age Of Entitlement’ in August last year. Check out the video for ‘The New Low’ from that release here.
Also appearing on Friday’s main stage, are Bristol’s hardcore punk crew SVALBARD. Signed to Holy Roar Records, their topical and furious last album ‘It’s Hard To Have Hope’ surfaced in 2018, and was described by Kerrang! as “a grand declaration of war, on everything wrong with the modern world, set to a truly brilliant, visceral soundtrack.” See if you agree; watch the video for ‘For The Sake Of The Breed’ from that album here.
Goth-soaked metal newcomers, IDLE HANDS will open the main stage on Sunday!  The Portland-based band are hot off their recent US support slot to the mighty King Diamond and the release of debut album, ‘Mana’ via Eisenwald Records.  View the retrotastic video for ‘Give Me To The Night’, taken from that release here.
Swedish progressive rock collective, SOEN crash straight into Friday’s special guest slot on the Sophie Lancaster stage. Reformed by frontman Joel Ekelöf and former Opeth drummer, Martin Lopez back in 2010, SOEN are four albums deep into their career, having released current album, ‘Lotus’ in early 2019.  Investigate the sublime title track from that opus and its accompanying video here.
VISCERA earn themselves a Sophie stage slot on Saturday.  The band, featuring former members of Heart of a Coward, Abhorrent Decimation, Martyr Defiled, Nervecell, and Surfaces, blend their influences (Pantera, Meshuggah, At The Gates, The Black Dahlia Murder and Killswitch Engage) with modern tech/death and deathcore flavours.  They release their debut album, ‘Obsidian’ this Spring via Unique Leader Records, but in the meantime, take a look at the video to ‘Lamb To The Slaughter’ taken from that release here.
Edinburgh’s riff squad and former BLOODSTOCK ‘Metal 2 The Masses’ alumni, DOG TIRED also land a slot on Friday’s Sophie stage. Since landing a slot in the New Blood tent in 2014, the band have been honing their stagecraft, playing with the likes of Skindred and Raging Speedhorn.  We’re happy to welcome them back with step up to the Sophie Stage in 2020. Get a taste for their sound with the video of ‘Dagoth’s Nine’ here.
BAILER join Saturday’s Sophie stage line up.  Metal Hammer inform that “Sometimes you hear a new band that make you want to drive a motorbike through a wall. BAILER are that band.”  Discover something new and make up your own mind by checking out ‘Long Gone’, featuring guest vocals from Adam Carroll here, and catch ‘em at Catton Park in August.
Consider yourself a bit of a gamer, or always fancied a go?  This year, BLOODSTOCK is pleased to introduce the Nordic Spirit Game Arena, where you can try to beat your mates on a range of games on XBox and PS4 consoles. Prefer your games on your PC?  Don’t worry, there’ll be a couple of gaming PCs as well, plus a few arcade machines from Jagermeister and Redbull, for starters. Best of all, play is absolutely free!
There’s just two weeks left to sign up to BLOODSTOCK’s very popular ticket deposit scheme, which allows you to spread your standard weekend ticket purchase over 5 instalments.  Be sure to make your first payment of £29 + booking fees before 28th February, then after that, your instalments break down as follows: Payment 2 – £29 (debits your bank account on 27/03/20), Payment 3 – £29 (debits 27/04/20), Payment 4 – £29 (debits 26/05/20), and then your Final Payment – £29 + postage (debits 26/06/20).  Please note VIP and child tickets are not eligible for the deposit scheme. Sign up at the ticket store.
BLOODSTOCK is also delighted to welcome the 100,000th subscriber to its official YouTube channel! To celebrate the milestone, BLOODSTOCK will randomly select two winners from channel subscribers to receive a pair of weekend tickets to 2020’s event. If you’re already subscribed, you’re already entered to win! If not, head over to the YouTube channel here and sign up! All new subscribers registered before the end of February 16th will also be entered. The lucky winners will be announced on BLOODSTOCK’s Facebook page in due course.
Not visited BLOODSTOCK’s YouTube channel before? You’ll find a host of cool and exclusive content from BLOODSTOCK, including interviews and live songs (or even whole sets) of a wide range of bands throughout the years. Didn’t get to watch Parkway Drive headline the main stage in 2019? Watch it on YouTube! How about Gojira the year before?  Also on BLOODSTOCK’s YouTube! New content is added regularly; make sure you stay subscribed so you don’t miss out and be the first to see brand new, thrilling live clips from classic, explosive, and downright headbangin’ sets at BLOODSTOCK!
BLOODSTOCK’s 2020 main stage headliners are DEVIN TOWNSEND (Friday), BEHEMOTH (Saturday), and JUDAS PRIEST (Sunday). The festival also welcomes HATEBREED, PHILIP H. ANSELMO & THE ILLEGALS, SKINDRED, PARADISE LOST, LIFE OF AGONY, BURY TOMORROW, BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, DIAMOND HEAD, JINJER, VIO-LENCE, SACRED REICH, GLORYHAMMER, DARK TRANQUILLITY, BUTCHER BABIES, CATTLE DECAPITATION, BLOODYWOOD, MEMORIAM, RAMAGE INC, GREEN LUNG, BOSSK, CONJURER, ORANGE GOBLIN, THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA, UNLEASH THE ARCHERS, SAXON, SYLOSIS, TOXIC HOLOCAUST, NECTOR, WINTERFYLLETH, EXHUMED, NEKROGOBLIKON, THE CRAWLING, RAISED BY OWLS, & ANAKIM so far.  Many more bands performing over the weekend are still to be announced! This latest event finds them party for the first time at Museu do Amanhã – The Museum of Tomorrow – ,a brand new museum designed by Sebastian Calatrava in front of Praça Mauá. It is known for hosting revellers during Carnival week, and it was during Carnival week that Seth said to some of his friends that he would love to come back and play a street party in the city. Word eventually got back to the RARA crew and so now they have made that possible.
Seth Troxler is of course the dance music heavyweight who has played all over the world, was part of the Visionquest project and always bring unrivalled party vibes to his widescreen house and techno sounds.
In his words, this party will be Power to the People.

CarnaRARA will be our contribution to this incredible organism called Rio de Janeiro’s street Carnival.  Carnival Sunday, February 23rd, in the breath-taking Museu do Amanhã, which for the first time will host a musical event.  Music by the ever enchanting Seth Troxler, Rara djs and local invitees. Power to the people: in the streets, free for all, under the Museum’s front bow. Made possible by the fundraisers which will have access to the interior of the museum. We will build this event together! This is how you can help –

Japan’s Rainbow Disco Club returns to the Izu Peninsula w/ Moodymann, Batu, Anthony Naples, DJ Nobu, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Moxie and more

RAINBOW DISCO CLUB 2020 will be held from April 17-19th at Higashi-Izu Cross-Country Course in Inatori Kogen, Izu Peninsula.

RAINBOW DISCO CLUB (RDC) takes a new step forward this year as it invites festival lovers into a more relaxed environment away from the hustle and bustle of the so called Golden Week by moving two weeks forwards. Following that move, the first wave of headliners can now be revealed and include the likes of Moodymann, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Moxie, Red Greg, GE-OLOGY, Daniel Avery Antal x Hunee, DJ Nobu, Special Request, Batu, Anthony Naples, Chaos in the CBD and many more.

RDC is of course celebrated around the world for its hi fidelity sound systems and unwavering attention to detail with high class production in a beautifully naturalistic site. Once again the headliners are a mix of returning favorites and some Japan debutants who all bring their own unique sounds and skills.

First up is the superstar from Detroit, MOODYMANN, who is back to RDC for the first time in six years. Next is a key figure in modern deep house, MOTOR CITY DRUM ENSEMBLE, who makes a long awaited debut at RDC. NTS radio host as well as the owner of On Loop record label, MOXIE is going to make her first ever Japan appearance at RDC this year. Deeply rooted in the Hip Hop scene from the 80’s, GE-OLOGY goes B2B with RED GREG, a hard digging veteran who gets support from Floating Points.

Various all night long sets around the world and his Song For Alpha LP brought DANIEL AVERY to the top of his game and to his own dark drone techno sound, and  this year he is going to make his first appearance at RDC. Hosting a show on Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide FM and known for his own Rememory Music imprint, ESA is a talented South African artist. His RDC debut is already ensured to be a great match.

Making her Japan and RDC debut is rROXYMORE, who has released spirited sounds from Planningtorock, Don’t Be Afraid and more. She will bring her leftfield sound from Germany.  Of course there is also the annual come back of ANTAL x HUNEE for a sure to be dramatic closing set as well as Japan’s treasure DJ NOBU. This year he is teaming up with Timedance label owner BATU to explore new frontiers. To complete the RDC stage line up, Japanese regular KENJI TAKIMI, plus RDC residents SISI and KIKIORIX are enlightening RDC’s musical philosophy.

RDC’s Red Bull Stage is back again on a large scale this year and on the first night, PAUL WOOLFORD’s project SPECIAL REQUEST is going to fill the floor with his unbridled musical energy. New generation rising stars, LICAXXX and MACHINA, are also making appearances on the first night.

On the second night, CYK is making a much anticipated debut. This DJ collective is a strong part of Tokyo’s youth dance music scene and they are influencing many others. CYK also curated the second night of the Red Bull Stage with CHAOS IN THE CBD, deep house brothers from London, and NYC’s ANTHONY NAPLES
