Planet Paradigm Announces Full Line-up For 2020

Cult favourite forest festival Planet Paradigm is back once again for third magical getaway. This one day trip goes down deep in the Groningen woods on May 23rd 2020 with the likes of Zip, DJ Masda, SIT (Cristi Cons & Vlad Caia), Onur Özer, Junki Inoue, Ferro B2B Benny Rodrigues, Abstract Division, Reiss, DJ Orchid B2B UlsT and many more all providing the stylish and stripped back soundtrack for a surreal intergalactic getaway.

VBX is hugely well respected in the underground dance world. The parties they throw in places like Amsterdam are always packed with proper music lovers thanks to the tasteful line-ups assembled. Each one mixes a crack team of residents with hot stars of the day and bona-fide legends. The team knows their local Amsterdam scene inside out and back to front and have a stylish minimal aesthetic to all they do, which means the music is always the main star. They know the best venues and put on legendary parties during ADE.

Meanwhile, once an abandoned warehouse, Paradigm is an important cultural hub located in a rural area of the northern Netherlands that has its own rich rave history. They also host their own wonderfully immersive festivals that create a space where you can be yourself and express yourself freely in a community with people from all walks of life.

Once a year these two behemoths come together to create a unique one-day opening to Planet Paradigm. This cultural phenomenon is a close-knit affair with real music lovers and has sold out each and every time. It always takes in headliners who contribute their own classy, left-of-centre sounds to help visitors reach a higher state of consciousness by triggering all six senses from sunup until way past sundown. The surroundings are mystical, too, with unconventionally designed stages such as the Forest Stage, Dome Stage, Romney Stage and Club all immersing you in an escapist realm that feels many miles away from everyday life.

Like last year’s showcase, aural and visual senses will be pleased in particular with all flavours of left leaning house, techno and electro from deep diggers like Zip and Onur Özer, Cabaret Records co-founder and Japanese favourite DJ Masda, taste making minimalists SIT (Cristi Cons & Vlad Caia), a live show from French wonderkid Sweely, mysterious Rotterdam techno talent Tafkamp, special back to backs from Paradigm and VBX legends like Ferro and Benny Rodrigues, with more from Abstract Division, Reiss, DJ Orchid B2B UlsT,Colin B2B Roy Lodder and much more.

RARA to host charity event with Seth Troxler at The Museum of Tomorrow in the city of Rio de Janeiro

To mark five years of fantastic parties, RARA are hosting special guest Seth Troxler for a charity event at The Museum of Tomorrow in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Feb 23rd. It will be the first ever such event at the Museu do Amanhã and is set to be special indeed.
The likes of Derrick May, Phil Weeks and Kenny Dope have all played this cult party in the past. It is an outdoor event with all the Rio magic, sun and fun loving crowds you would expect that has set up before in brilliant locations such as the Maracanã Stadium, Sugar Loaf Mountain and deep in the jungle.
This latest event finds them party for the first time at Museu do Amanhã – The Museum of Tomorrow – ,a brand new museum designed by Sebastian Calatrava in front of Praça Mauá. It is known for hosting revellers during Carnival week, and it was during Carnival week that Seth said to some of his friends that he would love to come back and play a street party in the city. Word eventually got back to the RARA crew and so now they have made that possible.
Seth Troxler is of course the dance music heavyweight who has played all over the world, was part of the Visionquest project and always bring unrivalled party vibes to his widescreen house and techno sounds.
In his words, this party will be Power to the People.

CarnaRARA will be our contribution to this incredible organism called Rio de Janeiro’s street Carnival.  Carnival Sunday, February 23rd, in the breath-taking Museu do Amanhã, which for the first time will host a musical event.  Music by the ever enchanting Seth Troxler, Rara djs and local invitees. Power to the people: in the streets, free for all, under the Museum’s front bow. Made possible by the fundraisers which will have access to the interior of the museum. We will build this event together! This is how you can help –

Japan’s Rainbow Disco Club returns to the Izu Peninsula w/ Moodymann, Batu, Anthony Naples, DJ Nobu, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Moxie and more

RAINBOW DISCO CLUB 2020 will be held from April 17-19th at Higashi-Izu Cross-Country Course in Inatori Kogen, Izu Peninsula.

RAINBOW DISCO CLUB (RDC) takes a new step forward this year as it invites festival lovers into a more relaxed environment away from the hustle and bustle of the so called Golden Week by moving two weeks forwards. Following that move, the first wave of headliners can now be revealed and include the likes of Moodymann, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Moxie, Red Greg, GE-OLOGY, Daniel Avery Antal x Hunee, DJ Nobu, Special Request, Batu, Anthony Naples, Chaos in the CBD and many more.

RDC is of course celebrated around the world for its hi fidelity sound systems and unwavering attention to detail with high class production in a beautifully naturalistic site. Once again the headliners are a mix of returning favorites and some Japan debutants who all bring their own unique sounds and skills.

First up is the superstar from Detroit, MOODYMANN, who is back to RDC for the first time in six years. Next is a key figure in modern deep house, MOTOR CITY DRUM ENSEMBLE, who makes a long awaited debut at RDC. NTS radio host as well as the owner of On Loop record label, MOXIE is going to make her first ever Japan appearance at RDC this year. Deeply rooted in the Hip Hop scene from the 80’s, GE-OLOGY goes B2B with RED GREG, a hard digging veteran who gets support from Floating Points.

Various all night long sets around the world and his Song For Alpha LP brought DANIEL AVERY to the top of his game and to his own dark drone techno sound, and  this year he is going to make his first appearance at RDC. Hosting a show on Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide FM and known for his own Rememory Music imprint, ESA is a talented South African artist. His RDC debut is already ensured to be a great match.

Making her Japan and RDC debut is rROXYMORE, who has released spirited sounds from Planningtorock, Don’t Be Afraid and more. She will bring her leftfield sound from Germany.  Of course there is also the annual come back of ANTAL x HUNEE for a sure to be dramatic closing set as well as Japan’s treasure DJ NOBU. This year he is teaming up with Timedance label owner BATU to explore new frontiers. To complete the RDC stage line up, Japanese regular KENJI TAKIMI, plus RDC residents SISI and KIKIORIX are enlightening RDC’s musical philosophy.

RDC’s Red Bull Stage is back again on a large scale this year and on the first night, PAUL WOOLFORD’s project SPECIAL REQUEST is going to fill the floor with his unbridled musical energy. New generation rising stars, LICAXXX and MACHINA, are also making appearances on the first night.

On the second night, CYK is making a much anticipated debut. This DJ collective is a strong part of Tokyo’s youth dance music scene and they are influencing many others. CYK also curated the second night of the Red Bull Stage with CHAOS IN THE CBD, deep house brothers from London, and NYC’s ANTHONY NAPLES
