Field Day partner up with Trangressive Records

Celebrating its first decade, the modern music company Transgressive will be partnering with Field Day in 2014 for a series of DJ hi-jacks across both days featuring a host of its artists plus members of the Transgressive team.

Taking over the decks across all stages during 20 slots during the weekend, audiences can expect the full colour and diversity of Transgressive's uniquely curated roster – whether Leeds rockers Pulled Apart by Horses, modern pop impressarios Mystery Jets, or brand new talent such as Marika Hackman and Thumpers. The full line-up is listed below.

"Eat Your Own Ears and Field Day have had a long history with Toby and Tim and Transgressive over the many, many years. They have built an incredible roster of acts and are always forward thinking and inspirational in their approach. So it's a real pleasure to host and welcome some of the brilliant Transgressive artists, some familiar, some brand-new, to Field Day to play special DJ sets across the stages." Tom Baker – Field Day

"Field Day has created some of Transgressive's favourite ever live music memories – including Foals' first ever festival headline appearance in its second year. When we were mapping out parties, festivals and events for our 10th Anniversary this year, it felt like an obvious choice to present something with Tom and the Field Day team. However, we wanted to do something a bit different – so thought we'd turn some of our artists into DJs for the weekend. A few of our crew will also have a go to try and make people dance. We'll all see you there." Toby L – Transgressive

Transgressive Records at Leeds Festival

SBTRKTSBTRKT aka Aaron Jerome is already playing a DJ set at this year’s festival, but will close the Alternative Stage in Leeds with a live set.   Famous for remixing the likes of MIA, Basement Jaxx, Mark Ronson and Underworld, he has just released his eponymous debut album.   This is a rare opportunity to see this exemplary artist, or perhaps not, as he is usually performing from behind the tribal masks that have become his trademark.   Dancing will be obligatory …

Winner of the Guardian First Album Award for his debut‘Lucky Shiner’ GOLD PANDA aka Derwin Panda  has been one of the most acclaimed new artists of the last 12 months.   He started by building up a library of

Gold Panda

original, dizzyingly eclectic electronic music incorporating a disparate mix of influences and source material. The results were gleaming instrumental hip-hop tracks saturated with bright colors and sublimely chopped-up vocal samples.

THREE TRAPPED TIGERS recently released their debut album ‘Route One or Die’ which NME described as “…the sound of imagination itself”.   The type of electronica put forward by the London trio defies classification but we call it music to enjoy yourself to and this will definitely be happening in the tent.

“Ice cold fucking synth music” is how BECOMING REAL describes his sound, we say it’s like a strand of early grime music he’s stretched, warping it into ever more pretty, frightening, ghostly shapes.  From starting out in a school band playing covers of Sonic Youth, Toby Ridler has evolved into one of the darkest new artists coming out of London.  You’ll be scared, but you’ll enjoy it!

Just some of the artists confirmed for this year’s festival – which takes place on on Friday 26th to Sunday 28th August at Little John’s Farm in Reading and Bramham Park in Leeds – include:  MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE, THE STROKES, PULP, MUSE, BEADY EYE, JANE’S ADDICTION, 2MANYDJS, THE STREETS, UNKLE Sounds, SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO,  MIGHTY MIGHTY BOSSTONES, DESCENDENTS, PETER DOHERTY, THE HORRORS,  and THE MIDNIGHT BEAST.  On the Alternative Stage you can also find MARK THOMAS, RUSSELL KANE, TIM MINCHIN, HENRY ROLLINS, LEE NELSON, MARK WATSON, THE RUBBERBANDITS and ANDREW O’NEILL.
