Basking in Britain's games glory is very much the order of Beach Break Live this year. No festival goer will go untouched from the frenzy of what is set to be a menagerie of mayhem with an Olympic twist. Set on eight miles of award winning, Welsh beach with a woodland backdrop the festival has it all. Global superstars from Dizzee Rascal to Friendly Fires will grace the stages as contortionists and teams of parkour artists roam the grounds ensuring every festival goer has a truly magical and unique four days.
Beach Break Live’s early bird tickets have sold out in record time, proving that the festivals ability to provide so much more than music is popular with this years festival goers. Tickets are now priced at £109 for four days, with only £40 deposit needed, Beach Break Live is no doubt the hottest ticket around this summer.www.beachbreaklive.com

On Saturday August 4th Eastern Electrics Festival 2012 arrives at Clapham Common for a huge all-day, all-out, sunshine-fuelled party – taking the festival season by storm, and promising to be THE event of the year! Join 17,000 like-minded
Eastern Electrics people for London’s biggest summer party!
To celebrate the venue announcement, Eastern Electrics announce more additions to an already impossibly cool lineup.
Pan-Pot, Amirali (live), Sebo K, Greg Wilson, Ralph Lawson, Luca C & Ali Love (Infinity Inc), Trickski and Dusky have been added to the party – as well as so many more! Plus a live headline act And another 10 acts still to be announced!
They call themselves “the dark side of the force” and Mobilee Records’ own audio masters, Berlin duo Pan-Pot go deep with their modern techno. Bringing an eclectic mix of house, techno, funk, electronica, disco and everything in between, Amirali’s live show includes vocals, keys and a visual exploration of his weird and wonderful mind. Mobilee’s house music front-runner Sebo K merges cutting-edge tech, minimal and percussive sounds with vintage Chicago and Detroit accents. Also joining the lineup are Greg Wilson, legendary purveyor of the New York post-disco electro-house sound and one of the original mix-masters, and Ralph Lawson – 2020Vision daddy and one of the world’s best house DJs.
London-based Italian producer Luca. C and Back Yard artist Ali Love promise an exciting and eclectic set – a blend of leftfield disco, analogue house and live vocals. And rising house duo Dusky offer diversity and originality, taking their progressive sound through deep and tech house, into edgy techno territory, and mix it all up with some underground UK funky rhythms.
An Eastern Electrics favourite, Jamie Jones is part of a new guard of house and techno DJs who resonate as artists, party people, DJs, and live acts. Inspiring a deep and soulful sound since the early 1990s, Kerri ‘Kaoz’ Chandler brings a set you’ll remember. An exponent of the new house-meets-bass sound, Julio Bashmore is super hot. Joy Orbison’s house-infused bass productions make him a prime candidate for one of the most explorative sets of the day. With a groove-based house sound, and deep roots in techno, Maceo Plex is looking big in 2012.
Nina Kraviz has been steadily rising through the ranks of house and techno’s finest. Expect house and techno in all its forms, beautifully delivered to the crowd. Tensnake’s sound of the Hamburg underground combines disco, house and electro-funk – and lights up the dancefloor! Crazy P’s live show is a spectacle of deep underground electronica meets pop – and it’s one of the best shows you’ll see all year. Mannheim’s house maestro Nick Curly brings a musical sensibility to his production. And catch Hot Creations’ Miguel Campbell and resident and house music reinvigorator Richy Ahmed.
Eastern Electrics is working with some of the most progressive and creative club brands to bring it with this festival. And now they can announce that FOUND and Return to the Future vs TRIX will host their own arenas. Add to this to other arenas from Eastern Electrics, 2020Vision, Futureboogie Recordings vs Hands on Decks, Black Atlantic and Krankbrother – and you’ve got one hell of a team!
For the first FOUND event outside of its home at Vauxhall’s Hidden club, the brand will take the new breed of UK house and experimental electronic music to a bigger stage, gelling established world renowned house talents with their grass roots British counterparts pushing the progressive end of the spectrum. And two rising London party brands go head-to-head for the EE0408 VIP arena – Return To The Future with their classic warehouse ethos, against the progressive tones of TRIX –
to keep the party going throughout the day. And there’s even more still to come…
Having launched in August 2008, Eastern Electrics has since hosted three block-rocking events each year. The brainchild of two of London’s most prolific and talented club personalities – mulletover promoter and pub owner Rob Star and FOUND and Hidden man Will Paterson, Eastern Electrics is renowned for high production levels and massive genre-busting lineups.
After four years of innovative lineups, collaborative promotion and rammed events, it was only a matter of time before Eastern Electrics looked forward to their next step, taking the party up a level, with an event that looks set to surpass everything that’s come before it. Expect this to be London’s biggest summer party!
Also added are the beloved French songwriter Yann Tiersen, New York’s post-punk heroes, Swans, the mastermind of far-reaching Berlin techno, Monolake, and the seminal DJ-producer Hudson Mohawke, amongst others.
Flow will also host African groups Orchestre Poly-Rythmo de Cotonou from Benin and Tamikrestfrom Mali. The acclaimed Austrian artist Fennesz will perform as a part of The Other Sound concept, that showcases experimental music. More artists on The Other Sound program will be published later in the spring.
Other international additions to the line-up are Korallreven (SWE), Lindstrøm (NOR) and Africa Hitech (UK/AU). New domestic artists are Huoratron, Burning Hearts and the unique trio Unela, comprising of saxophonist Jukka Perko, singer-songwriter Yona and producer Samuli Kosminen.

This enchanted wooded and open parkland site at Houghton Hall (which has not been used for any other music festival), is without a doubt the perfect permanent home for Glade.
FEATURING…
The Meteor Stage and woodland venues – Making its debut this year, hidden in a thirty-foot deep crater with trees lining its edges and bass bins under the floor. Presented by East London underground party Uppercut, The Meteor is the first of the concept stages this year. Playing all the latest sounds of the underground, surrounded by trees and kicking off the party on Thursday. Deeper in you will find the Liquid Stage, a psychedelic adventure that lasts until eight in the morning. Deeper still you’ll come across members of the Secret Garden family, whether it be medieval bard-core ravers or feral fever badger discos. It sounds insane, and probably will be.
The Pyromid Stage – This year the festival’s central pyramid will be a stage in its own right… that is until it burns down on Saturday night in spectacular fashion. The second concept venue, this stage will house a 360 degree sound system and will be presented by London’s underground heroes Hypercolour and The Sneaker Social Club from Brighton, expect the programming to be as explosive as the structure itself.
Polyphant – The Secret Garden Party production team have given the digital arts on site at the festival a new lease of life, with artists such as Polyphant (http://www.polyphant.tv/) commissioned to design a bespoke immersive environment where he will be blurring the boundaries between architecture, light and space. More bespoke installations will be announced soon.
Remix Roller Disco–Home to every kind of remix mash up imaginable, from electro-swing to hoe-step, this venue is going to be full of fun, day and night. With some serious programming from people who are constantly pushing and blurring boundaries of musical genres in the every direction, this is going to be a sight to behold.
The Rabbit Hole – Dreamt up by the well-known Glastonbury character Hamish Guerrini (aka the White Rabbit), The Rabbit Hole is an immersive wonderland. Crack the riddle, get on your knees and go down the rabbit hole into a madcap world full of characters from the mind of Lewis Carroll. Now a legendary Glastonbury institution The Rabbit Hole is a must for both first time Gladers and seasoned veterans alike. This year the trip doesn’t just stop at the end of the hole but twists and twirls as you are transported into a club environment like no other on the planet. Expect the unexpected.
Feast of Fools Bardcore Soundsystem – The merry pranksters Feast of Fools, a long standing collective who feature at The Secret Garden Party every year, will be bringing not only their bar – The Honeymoon Tavern purveyor of finest quality British Mead – but also their eccentric band of players, performers and misfits.
Nano Venues – This year there’s a whole host of exuberant pop-up Nano venues to discover and explore. Swing by Madame Electrifies Discotech where swing meets synth and big band meets bass to party like its 1929. Drop in to The Social-i Travelling Gallery offering Ergonomic art for Odd Shaped People and a place to let your creative side flow with body-casting and clay fun. Or chill out in the communal hammock domes or unwind in the magic garden of the 21st Century Cinema.
Artful Badger – Another collective from The Secret Garden Party joins Glade this year. Introducing the Artful Badgers, feral disco denizens where the party always gets as weird and surreal as it does down right rude and dirty. If you’ve not seen these guys in action, you’re in for a treat…
New Sanctuary – This year, the Sanctuary is evolving. There will of course still be an incredible healing area, with therapists skilled in all the holistic arts – from reiki to massage, acupuncture to reflexology, gong therapy, holistic therapy and all that’s in between. We’re also introducing a spa, consisting of hot tubs, saunas, sweat lodges, changing rooms and more. All brought together in a beautiful area in and out of the trees. This will be a place to relax, indulge yourself and get seriously clean, both inside and out.
Cafés – This year at Glade, a great deal of love gas been poured into the cafes and food stalls. Places to chill, laugh…and eat cake! Cafes are the heart and soul of any independent festival, so this year Glade’s gone all out to source some of the best independent traders around. The food court will be a place to meet your missing friends, take a breather from the madness of the festival, regroup, relax and unwind. There will be a huge variety of food and drink from all around the world on offer, including many vegetarian and vegan options.
Boutique Camping – Gladers who fancy treating themselves to a little luxury over the festival can do no better than getting involved in boutique camping. With several packages on offer including tipis, yurts and even Beryl – a three bed Cornish country cottage on wheels – there is no better way to experience Glade. Private facilities, including express parking and festival tickets, come as standard, with each package.lectives & labels representing every electronic genre over 14 stages showcasing hundreds of DJs and live acts from around the globe, Glade 2012 is set to become the must-go-to festival for all lovers of underground electronic music.
With our incredible 24hr venues, you can party hard until 8am and then chill out in the Inspiral lounge 24hrs a day.
Fans of electronic music also have a lot to cheer about, as they can meet acts like Caspa, Toddla T and Camo & Crooked in Soporon, Hungary, between 27-30 June 2012.
VOLT started precisely 19 years ago, on 4 April 1993. That was the day when Zoltán Fülöp and Norbert Lobenwein – directors of the festival – organized a big party for Easter Sunday in Sopron. The event turned out to be a success, still they never thought that they will expect more than 100 thousand fans for the 20th edition in 2012. Now they do…
Of course they also didn’t think about the distant possibility to host Mike Patton’s iconic Faith No More on their event. Now it’s a reality. The band had a 10 years break before reuniting a few years ago, but their biggest hits (songs like Easy, Epic, Midlife Crisis, A Small Victory, etc.) are regularly played on radios across the globe. They are only playing some of the most famous festivals, so VOLT is proud to be on their tour list. The day of their VOLT gig – 28 June – will have an especially strong line-up with acts like Chase & Status, Simple Plan, Hadouken!, Katy B and Mac Miller also playing.
If you’re not the rocker type, you might enjoy the gig of Caspa, DJ, producer and one of the best known representatives of the London underground scene, joined by MC Dynamite and Emalkay. Caspa already played some of the biggest festivals of the world, regularly performs at London’s legendary Fabric club and even has his own labels (amongst them Storming Productions and Dub Police), releasing dubstep and grime productions.
Another important program feature of this year’s VOLT is Camo & Krooked, arriving from nearby Vienna and presenting some of the most exciting drum’n’bass productions of these days. Already mega successful in the scene, the duo plays fast and modern tunes, touching drumstep and dubstep, but also staying true to the quality traditions of the genre.
Many fans have been waiting for the first Hungarian gig of Toddla T, known as a multi-sided e-musician, DJ, producer, radio presenter and mixtape guru, arriving from Sheffield. His style is close to grime and 2-step, but also no stranger to hiphop, garage and dancehall. Toddle T shows are highlighted by great vocalists and he already recorded two successful albums, featuring hit single Take It Back.
And VOLT wouldn’t be VOLT without the greatest Hungarian bands, including the already announced concert of Ákos and also presenting Hungarian allstars Quimby and Tankcsapda, starting to develop a good name for themselves internationally. The detailed programs of the stages are expected to be online within a few days, so make sure you regularly check the festival’s official website for updates. Also keep in mind that the reduced priced Early Bird tickets are only available until 15 April.
The mighty Download Festival celebrates its 10th anniversary this year with one of its biggest and best line-ups to date. Set to show crowds the shape of punk to come, Swedish hardcore punk band Refused will make their exclusive UK festival appearance at Download Festival. Earlier this year, the band announced their long awaited reunion; this is one come back show not to be missed! Additionally, hardcore punk rockers,Gallows, return to Donington for its 10th year with their new line-up, (including front man Wade McNeil, former Alexisonfire) and a new EP.
Dennis Lyxzén of Refused: “We´re very excited to have been given the chance by the people at Download to play the festival and meet our UK fans for the first time in 15 or so years. We played an unannounced show in Stockholm Friday night, it went great and we and can´t wait to bring this show to all the people that have been waiting for the last 15 years to see us.”
Giving Donington ‘what they want’, Kids in Glass Houses will return to Download festival following the success of their third studio album ‘Gold Blood’, released last year. Alternative Brit rockers Lower than Atlantis also join the bill for what’s set to be the ultimate 10th birthday celebration. Bringing the hardcore pop punk, American natives Four Year Strong are joining the line up with last year’s tour supporters nu metal Brits, Don Broco.
Hailing from across the pond, electronic producer Porter Robinson has also been added; storming onto the dubstep scene, he joins the lineup alongside Riverside rapper T. Mills. Other new additions include the likes of theatrical rock troupe, Fearless Vampire Killers, female fronted Kobra & The Lotus, German power metallers, Edguy and American blues rock band, Rival Sons, fresh of their UK support tour with Black Stone cherry. Sheffield superstars Black Spiders also return to Donington, following their Download debut in 2009.

ADDED TO SW4 DAY ONE: SAT 25TH AUGUST THE GALLERY PRESENTS ‘EVOLUTION’ FEAT.PAUL VAN DYK MARKUS SCHULZ · GARETH EMERY ALY & FILA · JOHN O’CALLAGHAN · RICHARD DURAND CLAUDIA CAZACU · GARY PROUD
Whilst it could be said Paul van Dyk needs no introduction, the opposite is true here. Forget the coveted Grammy, consecutive DJ Mag Top 100 triumphs, his magnificent SW4 2007 headline performance and the seminal tracks that defined a generation. As ‘Evolution’ maybe perceived, this isn’t Paul exploring a new sound away from his cherished roots. In fact Evolution inconceivably enhances Paul’s trademark uplifting trance, exacerbated by raw emotion. Fuelled by an illustrious twenty year career, that has kept PvD continually inspiring and empowering the masses. With the album track ‘We Come Together’ already sending shockwaves through club land, expect a host of bespoke Evolution material, especially re-worked for this grand al fresco gathering. A resolve to embrace the latest cutting edge technology, this will be pure dancefloor theatre, symbolic of Paul’s ‘Evolution’ in the flesh.
Markus Schulz is another artist who has continually evolved, with his custom breed of atmospheric trance, plus those darker ‘Dakota’ offerings. Hence earning the landmark title of The Gallery’s international resident, his Ministry gigs always attract a clued up, capacity crowd. South West Four will be no different, enticed by the globally revered radio show‘Global DJ Broadcast’, which attracts millions of trance enthusiasts each week. Then there’s Markus’ critically acclaimed ‘Coldharbour Recordings’ label, pivotal to Schulz’s well documented rise to fame. Named after Coldharbour Lane in nearby SW9, it’s why Londoner’s consider Markus one of their own. Making this SW4 visit even more poignant, promised magical material from the next in Schulz’s trailblazing ‘City’ series. Entitled ‘Los Angeles 12,’ it’s the kind of broody, melodic madness which ripped up The Gallery tent at SW4 2009.
Expect a host of fresh new music from Gareth Emery, the Garuda God who headlined The Gallery’s mesmeric 2012 opening party. Charting at #13, Gareth is another of the leading artists in the Top 100 and returns this year for the first time since his storming SW4 debut in 2010. Poignant new track ‘Concrete Angel’ looks set to eclipse the landmark success of the sacred ‘Sanctuary’ and will no doubt entice all arms aloft on Clapham Common. Ever since the lush chords of ‘Mistral’ announced him to the world, an unwavering passion earmarks this as a truly standout performance.
Aly & Fila’ssun kissed trance is perfect for the glowing Clapham sunshine. Long standing friends of The Gallery, ‘We Control The Sunlight’ was voted Armin’s ASOT tune of the year in 2011 – and is now an unofficial anthem of not just The Gallery, but trance lovers in general. New track ‘Coming Home’ is A&F’s latest sparkling sensation, typical of Aly & Fila’s much adored philosophy. To evoke a mass outpouring of joy, that constitutes almost a religious experience. So after helping to celebrate The Gallery’s 17th birthday in April, we lay out the Clapham red carpet four months later. Sure to be a stunning SW4 debut, Aly & Fila were tailor made for this tantalising trance occasion.
John O’Callaghan brought the tough, tearing beats of his Subculture label to The Gallery, towards the end of 2011. Uncompromising by nature, its John’s versatility as a producer that sets this Irish icon apart. His ability to refine these blistering bass lines with sincere vocals is illustrated in the hair-raising soundscapes of ‘Big Sky’ or the electrifying ‘Find Yourself’. More recently, John’s remix of the aforementioned ‘Concrete Angel’ has been embraced by lovers of all genres. A classic re-work, enhancing the lead melody with that JOC stamp of authority. Armin counts himself as a huge fan having personally approved John to mix CD3 of his forthcoming ASOT 550 compilation, one of the greatest honours that can be bestowed. Plus an anticipated Cream Ibiza residency for 2012, completing the JOC summer of love.
There’s no doubt the legendary status, which ‘In Search Of Sunrise’ has amongst trance fans – Richard Durand’s trademark beats having propelled the series into unchartered territory. Take India as the album theme for ISOS 9. Arguably the most forward thinking ever, those Indian beats not immediately synonymous with dance floor devastation. Durand’s SW4 set is sure to contain brand new material from the forthcoming ISOS 10. With Australia the inspiration, it’s a good omen for the sun to shine from Down Under!
Our penultimate powerhouse, a warm welcome for Gallery Queen Claudia Cazacu. Her ‘Haute Couture’ sound is tailor made for the South West Four sun. Finally after last weekend’s excellent set before PvD, Gary Proud returns to London. Vandit’s hottest new recruit, you know what to expect after Saturday’s sell out ‘Evolution’ album launch at Electric Brixton.
Make no mistake. Paul van Dyk’s monumental Evolution experience is sure to lure the global trance family to Clapham. With Evolution and Paul van Dyk, this will be South West Four’s biggest ever trance arena – no matter which metric is used.
When it comes to legends, they don’t come much bigger than this. He’s been near the top of your “most wanted” list since the very early days of Green Man, so we’re totally chuffed to have him headline our 10th anniversary festival!
Van formed Them in his native Belfast in 1964, his matchless R&B songwriting and vocal prowess resulting in classic cuts such as Gloria and Here Comes The Night, before solo success beckoned with the worldwide smash hit Brown-Eyed Girl.
Following the groundbreaking Astral Weeks – a mystical song cycle regarded as one of the greatest albums ever made –Van’s move to America inspired a string of near-flawless early ‘70s LPs including Moondance and Tupelo Honey.
Whether duetting with the likes of John Lee Hooker and Ray Charles, or stealing the show with The Band in Martin Scorcese’s must-see concert film The Last Waltz, few live performers can match the power and passion of “The Belfast Cowboy”.
Voted one place ahead of Michael Jackson in Rolling Stone’s 100 Greatest Singers of All Time list, Van Morrison headlines the Mountain Stage at the 10th annual Green Man Festival on Saturday August 18th.
I think I feel a Green Man moment coming on – anyone else? Here are the latest amazing acts joining Van and fellow headliner Feist in Wales’ breathtaking Black Mountains from August 17th – 19th:
Daughter create breathy, atmospherically mean and moody folk songs full of haunting melodies, a twist of electronics and ambient sweeps. Powered by Elena Tonra’s sensational voice, this London trio could be one of the finds of the year.
Bowerbirds, are real-life couple Beth Tacular and Phil Moore. Third album The Clearing is their biggest and boldest yet, with a sense of urgency and scope inspired by near break-ups and near-fatal illnesses.
Beth Jeans Houghton got her big break at Green Man 2008 when Devandra Banhart pulled her out of the crowd to perform one of her songs. Her totally ace debut album Thunder presents the Newcastle singer as a “psychedelic Boudica”. She appears at this year’s festival as Beth Jeans Houghton & The Hooves Of Destiny
Megafaun, the North Carolina-based trio psych-folk trio make a welcome return to Green Man following the release of their intricate self-titled album in the late 2011.
Psychemagik (DJ set) and Richard Norris are joining the Time & Space Machine psychedelic Sunday night whig-out in the Far Out After Dark

Colleen ‘Cosmodelica’ Murphy is an eclectic, experimental DJ and producer and all-round purveyor of the psychedelic, the Balearic, and the cosmic.
Willy Mason’s headline performance on The Lordship stage promises to be special. Plus there’s seven-piece band Revere, folker Beans on Toast, psych-rockers Belakiss, who toured with Kasabian, Welsh chamber pop duo on-the-up Golden Fable, and slick rock’n’rollers The Fabulous Penetrators.

And sliding in on Sunday, bringing with them their own brand of party-ready dub-funk-reggae-soul are Fat Freddy’s Drop.
The Time and Space Machine, Richard Norris’s latest – and trippiest – exploration of the psychedelic side of music, Norwegian synth-poppers CasioKids and engaging wonky electronic pop brothers Field Music are on the bill. Gabby Young and Other Animals returns, wilder, bolder and more irresistible than ever. MTV-tipped King Charles will thrill with his curious glam folk pop breezy sound, while ones to watch Stealing Sheep continue the psych-feel, with harmonic pop. Catch innovative three-piece folk band Yearners, see delicious ‘freak’-folkers Vadoinmessico or get lost in singer-songwriter Jenny O.’s infectious melodies.
THEME: JOURNEY TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH
