Isle of Wight Festival 2012 Ticket Presale

The 2 week long presale will start on Friday 30th September at 12 noon and for the first time the Festival is offering a staged payment plan for tickets purchased during the presale period only, at 2011 prices. Wightlink and Red Funnel will be selling ticket and ferry packages from the30th September at 2011 ticket prices with early bird ferry rates. 
 
If you are a Vodafone customer, you can get tickets from 28 September - 48 hours before the presale begins. Just visit vodafone.co.uk/vipfrom 9am. (The staged payment plan will also be available to Vodafone customers) 
 
For one year only the Festival is moving from its usual weekend to Friday 22nd – Sunday 24th June, to make way for the Diamond Jubilee and half term celebrations. 
 
John Giddings, Festival Promoter, says “We have been advised by the ferry companies that to run the same week as half term and the Jubilee would be problematic for our audience and production infrastructure. We have therefore taken the executive decision to move, for one year only, to 22/23/24th June 2012 to ensure a smooth journey for everyone and to get the entire infrastructure on and off the island”.

Kaiser Chiefs return to Isle of Wight Festival 2011

Five individuals with three hugely successful albums under their belts; Kaiser Chiefs are back! Performing ahead of Kings of Leon on Friday 10th June, the band is the perfect addition to one of the hottest weekends of the summer.

Taking place from Friday 10th – Sunday 12th June, the Isle of Wight Festival will celebrate its 10th anniversary in style. Over three days, festivalgoers are in for an unmissable weekend of music from artists including; Kings of Leon, Foo Fighters, Kasabian, Pulp, Plan B, Public Image Ltd, Beady Eye, Iggy and the Stooges, The Vaccines plus many, many more.

This year, the Garden Stage will see Tim Burgess & Mark Collins from The Charlatans- Acoustic Set, Andrea Corr, Ian Brodie, Tom McRae, Roachford, Yellowire, Ben Montague, James Walsh, It’s A Beautiful Day, Julie Felix, Scarlette Fever , Pronghorn, Joe Janiak, Bethia Beadman, Soul Circus, The Scarletz, Stereo Son, Bibelots, Charley Macaulay, Will and the People, The Bonfires, The Arcadian Kicks and Truly Violet showcase unique, stripped back and intimate performances of their chart topping songs.

Unfortunately Tinie Tempah won’t be joining us at the Festival this year. Tinie Tempah commented: ‘Huge apologies to my fans, due to conflicting schedule demands I sadly won’t be able to play this year’s Isle of Wight Festival but look forward to another opportunity in the future.’

 

Isle of Wight 2011 lineup additions

The Isle of Wight Festival is the first major Festival of the summer and will see headline performances from three of the biggest bands in the world; Kings of Leon, Foo Fighters and closing the weekend Kasabian. Newly reformed Pulp will also make their first UK festival appearance ahead of the Foo Fighters on Saturday.we are scientists
Joining Kings of Leon on the iconic Main Stage on Friday June 10th are The Courteeners, Band of Horses and We Are Scientists. Rounding up Saturday’s Main Stage line up are Big Country and Mike + The Mechanics.

Under the Big Top on Friday is girl-group Wonderland and London girl Edei, while The Cult play a much-anticipated performance on Saturday. Various Cruelties and Springbok Nude Girls also take to the Big Top on Sunday. Finally ABC join Boy George for Thursday at the Isle of Wight Festival 2011.

Isle of Wight 2011 announce Girls Night Out

alexandra burke isle of wight 2011Alexandra Burke released one of the hottest pop debuts of the last decade. Now her feisty and empowering voice comes to the Isle of Wight Festival, as it celebrates its tenth birthday in the beautiful setting of Seaclose park. After the success of singles including ‘Skinny Genes’ and ‘Rollerblades’, Eliza Doolittle is yet another starlet to grace the Big Top on Friday 10th June.

Imelda May has not only caught peoples attention musically, her striking style is unmistakably cool and quirky, a perfect match for one of the most fashionable Festivals going. Joining her will be Diana Vickers, who has shot to fame as a star of song, screen and stage. Her unique voice shone through on her bold yet fragile single ‘Once’, and is another great addition to the Festival.

One of the most hotly tipped names for 2011 is girl group Parade, bringing much needed excitement and glamour to the Big Top and are definitely ones to watch! Setting the bar for Friday will be Laura Steel, a vibrant, animated and electric-coloured performer; she is set to unleash her distinctive sound at the Isle of Wight Festival.

 

Tinie Tempah set to rock Isle of Wight Festival 2011

Taking place between 10th – 12th June, the line up hosts headline performances from three of the world’s hottest acts: Kings of Leon, Foo Fighters and closing Sunday night, Kasabian.

With Tom Jones, The British Pink Floyd Show, Wild Beasts, The Vaccines and Semi Precious Weapons already lined up for the Big Top on Saturday, it’s certainly going to be a weekend to remember. Join us as we celebrate the 10th birthday in style.

Facilities
Charging points for electric wheelchairs are available upon request , please ask campsite staff or stewards.
Accessible toilets will be positioned at various places around the festival including the campsite and we aim to protect them from general public use.
There is a shuttle bus between the special needs camping area and the main stage arena.
Stewards will be on hand to help with any issues that may arise during the weekend

Foo Fighters headlining Isle of Wight Festival 2011

Kings of Leon set to headline Isle Of Wight Festival 2011

It’s the only UK major festival performance with the Tennessee four piece this year. Kings of Leon’s 5th album ‘Come Around Sundown’ became their 3rd consecutive album to debut at No.1 when it topped the UK charts upon release. The second single from their album, entitled ‘Pyro’ will be released on December 6th.
