“I’ve heard great things about Larmer Tree Festival so it will be my pleasure to come and perform there. It looks like a wonderful setting for a great night of good music.” – Tom Jones

Born Thomas Jones Woodward in Pontypridd, South Wales, after quitting school at 15 and working in a variety of manual jobs, singing in clubs at night and marrying at 17, Jones went on to sign with Decca Records.

Although he is famous for hits including It’s Not UnusualDelilah and What’s New Pussycat, he is first and foremost an artist with a true rhythm and blues soul.  His 46-year career has gone from strength to strength, recently garnering the best reviews of his career for his two latest albums Spirit In The Room and Praise & Blame.

Knighted in 2006, Tom also performed at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee concert at Buckingham Palace in 2012. Other highlights of his long career include receiving BRIT Awards for Best Male in 2000 and Outstanding Contribution to Music in 2003, and more recently in 2010, the prestigious Music Industry Trust Award.

In 2012 Tom joined the BBC’s primetime television show, The Voice, and this year is working alongside, Kylie Minogue and Ricky Wilson, coaching talented hopefuls in their search to become pop stars.  We’ll certainly be watching this series keenly and cheering for a Team Tom winner for 2014!
