Already established as the UK’s premier venue for American roots music, and featured in The Guardian’s Top Ten Small Festivals 2010, other artists set to appear include festival favourites OTIS GIBBS (Billy Bragg’s favourite protest singer), Downton Abbey’s ELIZABETH MCGOVERN and her band EVE SELIS, as well as international roots stars CORB LUND and EMILY BARKER.
Running between Friday evening and Sunday afternoon, Maverick is set on a restored Victorian farm which boasts a spacious, pastoral campsite and tipi village, and a recognised family-friendly atmosphere.
As well as music, the festival also showcases film, dance and workshops. Add in award-winning local ales, lager and cider and a range of regional food and you have a “master class in how to put on a friendly, well organised, perfectly-sized festival where music is still the main attraction.” [Shades of Blue]
