Primal Scream and more announced for Isle of Wight lineup

Also joining the Big Top’s red-hot bill will be one of the originators of drum & bass and this week’s current no. 1, DJ Fresh, who will be appearing on Friday June 22nd. Critically acclaimed duo The Pierces will bring their irresistible magnetism to The Garden Stage on Sunday June 24th for a magical headline performance. Primal Scream have influenced countless bands and artists and been widely acclaimed by critics as one of the defining groups of the 1990s. Now the band returns to the island and takes their inimitable style to headline the Big Top on Thursday night. Topping the bill on The Garden Stage on Sunday are Allison and Catherine Pierce aka The Pierces who make a welcome return for the second year running.

Enter Shikari, Katy B and more added to Isle of Wight 2012 lineup

Tinie Tempah, Labrinth and more added to Isle of Wight Festival 2012

Tinie TempahAlso joining the line up on Sunday 24th are alternative rock band Band of Skulls and award winning singer and guitarist Joan Armatrading.

For the first time, on Friday 22nd June the Isle of Wight Festival 2012 will host a dance night in the atmospheric Big Top and headlining are the unique Groove Armada present Red Light who will bring their 4-deck, multi F-X, audiovisual DJ experience to the Festival. Watch this space, as more top acts will be announced in the New Year. Sunday 24th June sees the loud guitars and larger than life drumming of Black Stone CherrySpectorZulu WinterThe Milk and Switchfoot turn up the heat.  

Appearing on the Garden Stage will be festival favourites the Brit Floyd who are headlining on Thursday 21st June. The exceptional Crystal Castles will headline on Friday 22nd June withPenguin Prison. Headlining on Saturday 23rd June will be The Charlatans, an inspirational force in British music who will be performing their iconic album Tellin’ Stories in full. American punk rock band X and singer-songwriter Terry Reid also join the line-up.

Pearl Jam to headline Isle of Wight Festival 2012

Pearl Jam sold more than 15 million copies of their first two albums, leaping from obscurity to superstardom and will now take the headline slot on Saturday 23rd June at the Isle of Wight Festival2012. Responsible for popularising the Seattle grunge sound and style, Pearl Jam continue to combine guitar-heavy Led Zeppelin-influenced songs with Eddie Vedder's charismatic impassioned vocals. This will be a UK Festival exclusive and so make sure you’re there to witness what will be an unbelievable performance!

 The truly eclectic line up will see British glam rock band The Darkness take the headline slot in the Big Top on Sunday 24th June closing the Festival weekend. The band, who reformed this year are renowned for their elaborate stage performances, so expect a show you won’t forget in a hurry. 
 
Since they started releasing records fifteen years ago, Feeder have never been far from the charts or strangers to the stage. After a crowd pleasing performance in 2008 the band will open the Festival’s main stage on Friday 22nd June.
 
On Saturday 23rd June, Hackney boy Professor Green will bring his slick rap lyrics to the atmospheric Big Top. After recently celebrating success with the number one single ‘Read All About It’,Professor Green comes to the island for a not to be missed performance! Joining the Big Top bill is one of the biggest music success stories of 2011; Wretch 32. Sure to wow the crowd with tunes such as the chart topping, ‘Don’t Go’Wretch 32 is the perfect addition to the Isle of Wight Festival line up.
 
Loick Essien came to music almost by accident and now brings his sophisticated, smooth, accessible British urban soul style to the Big Top  on Saturday 23rd June.  Next up is Clement Marfo & The Frontline, whose inimitable sound comes from their deft ability to fuse hip-hop, grime and rock and pop in a brilliantly idiosyncratic fashion.
 
John Giddings, the Festival’s promoter, says‘Pearl Jam completes our American trilogy for this year. They have been on our wish list for a long time and we are proud for them to come to the island for the first time. Meanwhile we intend to provide plenty of other entertainment in the Big Top and Garden Stage starting with contemporary urban entertainment of Professor Green and Wretch 32.’

Kaiser Chiefs return to Isle of Wight Festival 2011

Five individuals with three hugely successful albums under their belts; Kaiser Chiefs are back! Performing ahead of Kings of Leon on Friday 10th June, the band is the perfect addition to one of the hottest weekends of the summer.

Taking place from Friday 10th – Sunday 12th June, the Isle of Wight Festival will celebrate its 10th anniversary in style. Over three days, festivalgoers are in for an unmissable weekend of music from artists including; Kings of Leon, Foo Fighters, Kasabian, Pulp, Plan B, Public Image Ltd, Beady Eye, Iggy and the Stooges, The Vaccines plus many, many more.
