Sam Paganini unveils first singles ‘Bianca / One’ from the upcoming album

Bianca / One: https://soundcloud.com/sam_paganini/sets/sam-paganini-bianca-one
Date: 30th JulyLabel: Jam
Italian techno powerhouse Sam Paganini is teasing the release of his new album later in the year with two very different standout singles from it, ‘Bianca’ and ‘One’. They land on Jam on July 30th and give a fine taster of what to expect from the full length.
For nearly 25 years, Paganini has been leading the underground scene from the front and headlining every major club and festival in the world, from Berghain in Berlin to Output and Cielo in New York and Fabric in London. In that time, the Italian has also released on influential labels like Drumcode, Plus 8 and Cocoon Recordings and is never far from the top 10 of the Beatport techno charts. As well as club-ready EPs, he has always showcased his fine studio craft on immersive full-lengths like 2014’s Satellite, 2017’s Zenith and 2020’s Reflections
Those albums evolved his famously percussive and harmonic sounds and explored downtempo and breakbeat as well as techno. ‘Rave’ from the Satellite album became an instant classic that has been viewed more than 43 million times on YouTube and stayed for more than 18 months in the overall Beatport Chart after being number 1 for over two months. Next to making techno, he has toured Italy as a drummer with a rock band and had a UK Club Chart #1 ‘Zoe’ under his Paganini Traxx alias in 1996.

The sublime ‘Bianca’ is an emotive track that is dedicated to Sam’s daughter, who was a newborn baby when it was written and is now seven months old. It has celestial chords reaching up to the heavens and is driven by silky breakbeats with a heart-aching vocal that really brings light and hope. This majestically light and airy track is sure to bring real spine-tingling emotions to any dance floor.
‘One’ is all about taking you to the heart of an intense party. The pulsing synths and sci-fi chords bring cosmic energy to a rubbery baseline and prodding drums that never get up. It cannot fail to get you locked into the moment and lost in the music.
These are two very different but equally vital new singles from a real techno mainstay.

Spartaque joins forces with ODYSSAY for stunning new track, My Religion

Release Drops 16th July via CODEX label

Artist: Spartaque ft. ODYSSAY

Title:  My Religion

Label: CODEX

CatNo: CODEX127

Label: CODEX

Release Date: 16/07/2021

Tracklisting: Spartaque & ODYSSAY – My Religion

Vitalii Babii, aka Spartaque, has been championing his take on the techno sound for well over a decade now, making a concentrated effort to carve his own definitive path in the electronic music landscape. Hailing from Ukraine, the tenacious musician is wholly dedicated to his craft, with heavy touring and an ever-flourishing discography to match. With an early interest in house music at the age of 16, it was only a matter of time before he began to hone in on his passion. Reaching a pivotal point in 2007, he was chosen by Virus Music after winning a mixing contest to perform at the Ukrainian Global Gathering, the country’s first music festival. This opened many a-door for the accomplished talent, and set a precedent for the upward trajectory of his career both in the studio and behind the decks. Proficiently polished through and through, Spartaque’s unparalleled knack for producing intensely raw and organic techno is few and far between in the modern dance music domain, as he now stands as one of the most influential figures on the circuit.

Spartaque’s latest is a collaboration with ODYSSAY, who he links up to great effect on a big new single for CODEX that will blow any dance floor part. The thumping My Religion is a hard hitting and heavy melodic techno track with immovable drums. The wall- rattling percussion, thunderous claps and scintillating synths all add up to a tense and alluring groove, and the beautiful vocals from ODYSSAY really reach out to the listener and give it that extra edge. This is powerful music that will make an indelible mark no doubt.

This iconic venue will reopen its doors to drinkers, diners and ravers on Friday, July 23rd 2021, playing host to techno heavyweight Darius Syrossian, followed by legendary House DJ Mark Knight on Saturday, July 24th 2021.

Proudly taking over an extensive corner plot on Princess Street, Manchester, this clubbing mecca is currently undergoing a £200,000 revamp courtesy of new owners Jorge Meehan and Brian Murphy. This entrepreneurial pair are renowned in the industry for owning and operating shindigs such as Wile Out Festival, Southern Sunset Festival, Social Avenue, Milton Keynes Reggae Festival, Acropolis and many more. With over 20 years of combined experience, they will be turning their expert attention to breathing new life into Joshua Brooks, bringing this historic venue back to its former glory with an extensive ‘back to brick’ refit.

The venue will officially reopen on Thursday, July 22nd, 2021, for an exclusive press launch party with headliners Darius Syrossian alongside home-grown DJ’s Mason Collective, a dynamic trio rising through the underground music scene with their signature high energy grooves and explosive DJ sets.

The new-look Joshua Brooks will be a one-stop-party shop for musically minded Mancunians, combining drinking, dining and dancing from dusk until dawn.

By day, the revamped bar will be a home-from-home for the city’s workers, featuring comfortable seating, exposed brickwork and all of the nostalgic charm for which the venue was known.

Dessert lovers can indulge in the Pina Colada Panna Cotta with Dark Rum and Charred Pineapple or a palette cleansing Mojito Sorbet. A small plate menu will also launch in early August, featuring authentic, traditional Cuban dishes but with a modern-day twist.

As the lights go down, early evening drinkers can treat themselves at the bar to expertly crafted Cuban-themed cocktails or one of the many draught beers on offer that includes Camden Hells, Goose IPA and Manchester’s own Union Lager. The new outdoor terrace provides the perfect place for enjoying al fresco drinks and watching the world go by.

LAST CALL FOR BLOODSTOCK TICKETS!

There’s just 29 days left to BLOODSTOCK and the remaining tickets are flying, so don’t wait if you want to join the fun this year, as it’s looking very likely the event will sell out in advance. Don’t miss tonight’s BLOODSTOCK Facebook Live at 6:30pm with festival directors Vicky & Adam, for all the very latest info including safety measures for this year’s event.

With international issues continuing for some artists, DARK TRANQUILLITY have had to cancel, but we’re thrilled that the very epic LOATHE are able to join us in their place on Friday’s Ronnie James Dio main stage. Frontman Erik Bickerstaff tells us, “We are thrilled to be performing at this year’s BLOODSTOCK Festival for the first time, and to be sharing the Main Stage on August 13th alongside an incredible and eclectic lineup of heavy artists.” Not familiar with LOATHE’s atmospheric heaviness yet? Get with the programme via their video for ‘Two Way Mirror’ taken from the amazing ‘I Let It In And It Took Everything’ album.

Similarly, BURY TOMORROW have had to pull out, but we welcome WHILE SHE SLEEPS in their place. BURY TOMORROW explain, “Due to the band’s current line up situation and despite best efforts we are unfortunately unable to play BLOODSTOCK this year, we are truly gutted! We support the festival and hope everyone enjoys every minute of the weekend! We are however over the moon to confirm BLOODSTOCK have invited us back next year so we will see you all at BLOODSTOCK 2022!!” We are more than sure that WHILE SHE SLEEPS are up to the task of filling their shoes – check out ‘Sleep Society’ from their blistering set at the Download Pilot.

UNLEASH THE ARCHERS have also unfortunately dropped out and they will be replaced on the Sophie Lancaster stage by British rock squad BLACK SPIDERS, in their first ever BLOODSTOCK appearance. To whet your appetite, they just released a lyric video for the aptly-named new song ‘Give ‘Em What They Want’ from next week’s new album. We want to be back head-bangin’ in a field with all our mates! Look out for the album’s special diablo red vinyl on July 17th’s Record Store Day.

Due to LOTUS EATER splitting up, death metal bruisers FOETAL JUICE will now step into their spot, declaring, “We are absolutely delighted to be playing Bloodstock this year! It’s an incredible festival that we attend every year. The last time we played back in 2016 has still been the biggest show we have ever played. The year will absolutely kick that in the bollocks. We literally cannot wait to play this festival again!!” Get familiar with them via their latest album’s title track ‘Gluttony.’

This year’s Metal 2 The Masses scheme played out in a rather different landscape to the norm, but we applaud the efforts of the local promoters who’ve made a success of their heats despite an array of logistical issues. As such, we’re thrilled to announce 10 more winners from various areas across the country, who’ll each win a slot on the New Blood stage on Friday or Saturday.

Landing slots on the Friday are extreme metal 5-piece, TERMINAL SUN who win the Sheffield competition, the Essex victors are death metal squad BEYOND EXTINCTION, Somerset’s champs are melodic alt metallers, SAIL, Manchester’s top dogs are tech thrashers BEYOND SALVATION, and SEVERENTH bring home the prize for North Wales.
Snagging slots on Saturday’s New Blood stage are Hitchin’s stoner/grunge winners, BLACK ATLAS, Norwich sludgers A HORSE CALLED WAR, blackened death trio ASCARIS take the Bristol area prize, Newcastle’s goes to groove metal squad DESOLATION, while London’s victors HAWXX are also the winners of PRS’s Women Make Music award! Congrats to them!

There’s lots happening over on BLOODSTOCK’s Twitch channel and at 7:30pm this evening (13th July) the inaugural ‘BloodThirsty’ video interview podcast sees DEVILDRIVER frontman, Dez Fafara and JUDAS PRIEST’s Rob Halford talking all things metal! Tune in to watch the two legends discuss BLOODSTOCK and much more.

Brand new to BLOODSTOCK this year is our exciting gaming arena! Brought to you by our friends at Nordic Spirit, the Game Zone brings that little bit extra to an already packed, 5-day bonanza of metal. Feeling competitive? There’s a very wide array of games to play, on Xbox, Playstation, PC, retro consoles (from Atari to Sega to Nintendo), arcade machines, and more! The arena runs from 11am-8pm daily from Thursday, play at your leisure! While there’s plenty of space, do note it’s limited numbers at any one time.  If you’ve got your ticket but are yet to figure out your camping situation, let Tangerine Fields take the stress out of the weekend. If you’d rather not transport and wrestle with your own, you can rent one of their pre-pitched tents, all set to go and ready for your arrival at Catton Park. No hassle with putting it up and then taking it down on Monday morning! Check out all the size options and book online here.

Our friends at PLANET ROCK RADIO have launched a BLOODSTOCK pop-up radio station, showcasing music from many of this year’s acts like Judas Priest, Kreator, and The Wildhearts, as well as others from BLOODSTOCK’s past such as Slayer, Nightwish, Machine Head, Gojira, etc to celebrate BLOODSTOCK’s 20th Anniversary. The channel will run for 3 months and is available on Planet Rock’s premium app, the Planet Rock Radio website and via smart speakers. Fans can get a month’s free subscription to Planet Rock Premium (in addition to a 7-day free trial period) using the code ‘Bloodstock’. Start your BLOODSTOCK party early by tuning in! More info here.
BLOODSTOCK’s 2021 main stage headliners are DEVIN TOWNSEND (Friday), KREATOR (Saturday), and JUDAS PRIEST (Sunday). The festival will also feature sets from SKINDRED, PARADISE LOST, DIAMOND HEAD, THERAPY?, VENOM PRISON, JINJER, VIO-LENCE, SAXON, THE WILDHEARTS, GLORYHAMMER, BLEED FROM WITHIN, NAPALM DEATH, PHIL CAMPBELL & THE BASTARD SONS, MEMORIAM, RAMAGE INC., GREEN LUNG, CONJURER, ORANGE GOBLIN, RAGING SPEEDHORN, LAWNMOWER DETH, CONAN, SYLOSIS, WINTERFYLLETH, HACKTIVIST, THE CRAWLING, EVIL SCARECROW, ACID REIGN, SVALBARD, BORSTAL, SEIDRBLOT, MOTHER VULTURE, BLOODSHOT DAWN, EVILE, and more, with plenty still being announced. Bristol Party Lakota is UK’s First Dance Music Festival of 2021

UK’s first Dance Music Festival of 2021 gets Green Light from Government

Summer of Love festival is set to welcome thousands of partygoers to the UK’s first full blown dance music festival in Bristol since the Pandemic

Organised by the team behind Bristol’s Lakota Nightclub & Gardens, the festival is set to take place on the first weekend that restrictions are lifted: Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th July. The festival aims to unite friends, old school ravers, and like-minded people as the UK eases its way out of lockdown restrictions. The festival is set in a brand new, secret location just outside of Bristol.

Summer of Love is excited to host an enormous weekend of music, impressive stage builds, festival production and dance performances. The forecast is set to be the best days of the summer, shining over what will be the first moment we are all able to dance together again. It’s going to be a time to join old friends and create history together all in one field of ultimate freedom. This will be a moment we will all be talking about for years to come!

Step aboard one of our freedom buses and let us take you on an adventure into a post lockdown destination where you will arrive at an event like no other. Attendees are able to buy £5 return bus tickets from multiple locations close to the centre of Bristol. Summer of Love’s programming was built around curating a gender balanced lineup. From headliners through to the rising stars of Bristol, they will all be stepping out to perform to thousands of partygoers across the festival’s three spectacular stages (and two more secret stages!)

Headlining the festival on the Saturday are two local superstars with global reputations for energising dancefloors: Eats Everything and Sam Divine.

Having cut his teeth as both a raver and DJ at Lakota, it is fitting to have Eats Everything champion Lakota’s first ever festival. Sam Divine, who hails from Weston-Super-Mare, has been an integral part of growing the house scene in not only the South West and UK but arguably around the globe as the “Queen of Defected”.

Top of the billing for Sunday’s lineup are Wilkinson, Sherelle and Watch The Ride. Platinum drum and bass producer Wilkinson has cemented himself as one of the most successful stars in dance music having had numerous anthems top the UK’s charts.

Meanwhile Sherelle leads a new generation of ravers, fusing cutting-edge drum and bass, jungle and footwork music to a mainstream audience with new generation disruptors. Watch The Ride is the moniker for three legendary figureheads of the drum and bass scene: DJ Randall, DJ Die and Dismantle. The combination of the three artists’ experience and extensive record collections allow Watch The Ride to consistently leave ravers craving more.

Alongside these musical heavyweights, some of the best up and coming talent in the South West will be showcasing their skills, allowing festival goers to discover the stars of tomorrow. Supporting local talent and curating a gender balanced line up were important considerations for the team when programming the festival. Whereas many festival lineups being released have been met with criticism for failing to include female artists, Lakota’s Summer of Love festival has over 50 female artists performing over the two days.

“It’s important for us to inspire women and show that a career as DJ is a realistic aspiration for young women. We also wanted to create a festival that is supportive of the wider communities within the music industry. We’re really proud of the diverse lineup we have put together for our first festival.

We believe that Bristol is blessed to have some amazing talent, both male and female, big and small from all communities. We’re confident that this event represents the diverse talent of the city and UK and will inspire the future female stars of tomorrow by giving womxn a platform to showcase their talents.”

The festival site boasts three high impact stages with massive production, as well as two smaller secret stages, encouraging attendees to wander around the festival site from stage to stage exploring all that the immersive site has to offer. And for the thrill seekers among the crowd, there will be a fairground to enjoy too.

Food is provided by a delicious selection of Bristols favourite local street food vendors, serving a variety of cuisines using the finest locally sourced ingredients. “We are trying to ensure that any impact we have on the environment is as small as possible. We think it’s essential to be conscious of your carbon footprint and should try to improve this whenever you can in your day-to-day life.”

The bars at the festival will also be plastic free, with a plastic alternative being used in place of the standard plastic cups used by most festivals.

Some 495 days after restrictions were first imposed, just like the days of old, this latest ‘Summer of Love’ is almost upon us and when it arrives, the festival will be the perfect place to reconnect and remind us of the core values we all share as humans: peace, love and unity.

Gadi Mitrani Debuts on Do Not Sit with Stunning Track, Over the Moon

Artist: Gadi Mitrani

Title:  “Over The Moon”

CatNo: DNSOTF047

Label: Do Not Sit On The Furniture Recordings

Release Date: 7/16/21

We’re “Over the Moon” to welcome Gadi Mitrani to Do Not Sit with his melodic two-track EP. A fixture in his hometown of Turkey and with releases on the likes of Kompakt KX, Tale & Tone, Seven Villas and his own imprint Love And Above, Gadi has built a name for himself on the world stage, and it’s easy to see why with his new one for us.

The title track’s organic mood weaves in and out of dreamy synths and deep rhythm, while “Rise To The Moon” invokes beautiful undertones of culture and fancy.
