Dimensions marked a stunning start to the new chapter at The Garden Resort of Tisno last year, and in 2022 the acclaimed underground festival builds on that legacy with a 10th anniversary edition from 1—5 September 2022. It goes down with a tastefully curated list of headliners, back to back exclusives, label parties, UKG celebrations, Detroit specials, debut sets and much more. For full information and tickets, head to https://www.dimensionsfestival.com.

Croatia’s Garden Resort is nestled in a natural paradise on the Dalmatian coastline with glistening seas, a sweeping beach and pine forests forming the backdrop. During the festival weekend, it comes alive with an array of hugely popular boat parties, baking sunshine and beach-side sessions by day and star-lit skies for open air dancing at the cult Barbarella’s Discotheque by night – a famous site with views over the bay which will host a rich array of afterparties, for which line-ups will be revealed soon and passes are already on sale.

Since 2012, Dimensions is famed for its attention to production details like light and sound, as well as its hard earned musical heritage, seriously music loving crowd and diverse, community minded spirit. All of which will return once again this summer with another musical programme that covers all shades of bass, house, techno, electro, garage, disco and plenty in between.

Amongst many highlights, Detroit lands in Croatia this summer with Detroit In Effect, Marcellus Pittman and DJ Stingray 313 making appearances from the Motor City. Tiffany and Roza Terenzi go head to head alongside a Planet Euphorique partnership, Dutch crew VBX join forces with Slapfunk for a special takeover, while cult crew Dr Banana is back with friends Eliza Rose, Helena Star, Jeremy Sylvester and T Dunn for a special celebration of UKG and beyond.

Meanwhile Karenn, Sansibar, Sweely, Soichi Terada all present special live performances, Bradley Zero returns with his diverse, multi-genre sounds, and long-standing party-starters Butter Side Up are back alongside pals The Ghost, Gene On Earth, Youandewan, Huerta, Sugar Free, Truly Madly and more. Mala is back with his much loved bass-heavy selections, and after being postponed from 2021 Francesco Del Garda, LSDXOXO, Peach, Zakia, DVS1 and Malika will finally join the party.

In terms of debuts, Eris Drew & Octa Octa present a T4T LUV NRG takeover, Jossy Mitsu, Sherelle and LCY all play for the first time, Slow Life make an appearance with founders Laurine and Cecilio, and on top of that Paula Tape, Adam Pitts, Azu Tiwaline, Russel E.L Butler, Club Fitness, Jamie Tiller, Jeremy Sylvester, Marie Montexier, Quest and Vlada all arrive at Dimensions for the first time.

You can also expect thrilling sets of drum & bass from Calibre, Djrum and DJ Storm, slick minimal from scene-leaders Raresh, Sonja Moonear, Quest, Vlada, Anthea and Unai Trotti, carefully curated eclecticism from BeatPete, Jamie Tiller, Zakia, Nabihah Iqbal, OKO DJ, Jaye Ward and Ruf Dug.

On top of this are plenty of mouth watering back to backs that have come to define Dimensions with Helena Hauff b2b DJ Stingray 313, Dr Banana b2b Alec Falconer and Gene On Earth b2b The Ghost and there will be live electro from The Exaltics, Radioactive Man, DMX Krew and plenty of standout sets from the likes of Peach, Nabihah Iqbal, Saoirse, ISAbella and LCY.

The countdown is on to what promises to be a historic 10th edition of this most cultured underground music celebration. Time Warp announces 2021 USA Lineup

Returning to New York City November 19-20 at Brand New Brooklyn Venue

Featuring Âme, Nina Kraviz, Ricardo Villalobos b2b Craig Richards, Richie Hawtin, Seth Troxler b2b Special Guest, KiNK (live), Stephan Bodzin (live), Adriatique, Ben Klock b2b Marcel Dettmann, Paula Temple, Pan-Pot, Kobosil, Reinier Zonneveld (live), DESNA, Avision, mink b2b O.BEE, and Shahar

Continuing its legacy as what the New York Times referred to as a “pilgrimage event on the global techno calendar,” Time Warp today, in partnership with long-term NYC collaborators Teksupport, announced the bill for its return to New York this Fall, following a two year hiatus. its new Brooklyn location will play host to two days of audiovisual technical immersion soundtracked by some of house and techno’s top talent.

Time Warp will showcase a mélange of underground heroes from around the world, including several who’ve become central pillars to the event and its community over its storied 27 year history. Global scene shaper and recent Prada collaborator Richie Hawtin reprises his headlining role—a duty he’s carried on with diligence since Time Warp’s 1995 Mannheim debut. Chilean iconoclast veteran Ricardo Villalobos makes a return as well, this time alongside longtime b2b partner and Tyrant co-founder Craig Richards. Villalobos remains a rare delicacy stateside, but thanks to his deep-rooted ties to the Time Warp and Teksupport families, fans have been able to witness his brilliance twice in New York the past seven years.

Âme, whose Time Warp legacy kicked off in 2007 brings a slice of Berlin house to the party. Second State owners Pan-Pot also represent Berlin, along with Ostgut Ton/Berghain figureheads Ben Klock and Marcel Dettmann for a rare b2b—all three of whom were inducted into the family in 2012. Seth Troxler rounds out the list of historic talents to grace the roster. The political activist, multilabel head, and Lost Souls of Saturn member has been an annual fixture at Time Warp’s flagship Mannheim event since 2011.

Techno always takes center stage at Time Warp New York, with all sides of the spectrum covered by its all-star cast. On the melodic end, Afterlife stalwarts Adriatique are set to bring their expertise to the decks, while virtuoso Stephan Bodzin will bring a full hardware kit to the show. Industrial aficionados will enjoy performances by Paula Temple, Kobosil, and a live showing by Reinier Zonneveld. International superstar Nina Kraviz will serve up her signature high-tempo mix of techno and electro cuts, while KiNK will showcase his impressive penchant for improvisation on his array of keyboards and synths.

Time Warp’s communal ethos extends to the cities it touches, as such, New York talent will be spotlighted with local mainstays DESNA, Avision, Shahar, mink, and O.BEE on display.
Since its 2014 debut in New York, Time Warp has made the city a second home with local impresario Teksupport as its chosen partner. Its 2019 return saw fans gathered from across the nation to celebrate 25 years of Time Warp, which also marked the first large-scale underground dance music event to happen in the Bronx. The results were massive, ushering in a new era for the global brand and a bright chapter for American house and techno enthusiasts. Following a forced two-year break since, fans can expect peak energy for its grand 2021 return.

Teksupport has produced some of New York’s most unique and exciting parties of recent years. They have scoured the city to unearth new locations, throwing parties in submarine factories, navy yards, subterranean ballrooms and industrial warehouses, building a reputation for pairing raw spaces with world-class event production. Their 2021 summer season played a role in reasserting the city’s prominence as an underground dance music mecca, hosting the likes of DJ Tennis, The Martinez Brothers, Sven Väth, Guy Gerber, Dixon, Perel, and more.
Time Warp’s return to New York will follow its prodigal return to Mannheim on October 30 2021 before heading south to its Brazil HQ of São Paulo. Head to their website for more information on their international events and to sign up for tickets.

See you on the dance floor….

Underground Mainstay Jean Pierre Launches New Vinyl Only Label, Pakate

Fletch’s Actin Up EP (ft. Remixes by Franco Cinelli & Jean Pierre) Out June 18th

Artist(s): Fletch, Jean Pierre, Franco Cinelli

Title: Actin’ Up EP

Label: Pakate

Release Date: June 18th 2021

Catalogue Number: PAKATE001

A1. Fletch – Actin’ Up (Original Mix)

A2. Fletch – Want Me (Original Mix)

B1. Fletch – Actin’ Up (Franco Cinelli Remix)

B2. Fletch – Want Me (Jean Pierre Remix)

Born and bred New Yorker Jean Pierre is stepping out with his own brand new label, Pakate. The vinyl-only outlet kicks off with a fantastic first EP from FLETCH featuring remixes from Pierre himself and Franco Cinelli.

This exciting new label will be an outlet for Jean and other friends to serve up mature and minimal sounds focused around unique designs and powerful grooves. Dealing in heady underground sounds that also work on larger dance floors, the label comes after Pierre has spent 15 years entrenched in the electronic scene. This is his way to carefully curate his own music exactly how he wants to, with three releases already lined up for 2021.

The first one is from FLETCH, a red hot UK talent who has released on the likes of Kaluki and Whippin’ Records. His opening tune ‘Actin Up’ is a slick and slippery minimal groove with real depth and freaky sound designs that make it pop. ‘Want Me’ then hits harder, with loopy house drums and squelchy synths all bubbling away beneath soulful female vocal sounds and cosmic synths.

The first fine remix is from France Cinelli who takes ‘Actin Up’ super deep, with punching kicks and rolling bass that gets you in a state of hypnosis., Closing out the package is a Jean Pierre remix of ‘Want Me’ that shows off his ability to lay down stripped back but compelling house grooves with deft sound design and a freaky atmosphere.

This is a standout first EP that perfectly sets the scene for what is sure to become a vital new label from this American mainstay.

Top 5 Acts to See at Dockyard Festival

Dockyard is one of the key events during ADE each year.
In 2019 it happens on October 19th at Havenpark and promises 12 hours of non stop high class action.
The production is next level and since 2014 it has built a fine rep.
Here we look at 5 of the best acts you need to see at this year’s event, and you can find out further information on the Dockyard Festival Facebook
Dax J
This guy has really made a huge mark in the last year or so. He plays big, brash, textured techno that is designed for huge spaces. He can either punish you or hypnotise you and is a perfect person to catch in a super electrifying main stage with all the lights and production to really make a vast impact.
Eats Everything
The big, happy Bristolian always comes correct. He mixes up big bass, heavy techno and plenty in between with the skill of a real pro. He is an expert at working big crowds but still injecting some fun  and humour so is always worth seeing.
Ben Sims
Another UK star is set to play Docklands and bring with him a whole lifetime of experience. He has a loopy sound that joins the dots between the old and the new in seamless ways. His own Machine party and label is sure to have an impact on what he plays so expect to be blow away.
DJ Bone
The Detroit star plays hard and fast. His mixing is as tight as anyones, flashing through tunes at an alarming rate. Pulling no punches, he commands the audience with forceful sounds that are timeless, absorbing and always infused with that Motor City magic.
This UK veteran plays with all the precision of someone you would expect with a name like Surgeon. He has a precise sound that is infused with futurism as well as industrialism so expect him to be in his element here.

5 Bucket-List Festivals to do Before You Die

The festival market has exploded in recent times.

You can now party anywhere in the world, in any temperatures, any setting, at any altitude. Which is great, because there is so much competition that festivals are falling over themselves to get your attention and wow you.

Many idyllic escapes now exists so here are our five favourites.

Epizode, Vietnam

After three much-talked about editions, there a special and unique atmosphere has now been created at Epizode that has quickly made it one of the most respected and essential experiences in the year. The carefully curated week-long showcase is a cultural spectacular that runs around the clock and makes you the lead role in a one-of-a-kind film, and it all unfolds on the blissful beaches of Phu Quoc, an island paradise hideaway off Vietnam’s West coast with a soundtrack from returning favourites and exciting new names such as Ricardo Villalobos, Apollonia, Loco Dice, Lehar, Lilly Palmer, wAFF, Guti, Nicolas Lutz and Craig Richards as well as plenty of Russian and Asian artists.

SXM Festival, St Martin

This festival took a year off in 2018 because of the devastating hurricane that wrecked the Caribbean island. Now it is back, bigger than ever, with the whole island’s infrastructure having been rebuilt. Stages are on beaches and jungle clearings and are truly beautiful. This year Zip, Axel Boman, Apollonia, Fumiya Tanaka, Traumer, Francesca Lombardo, DeWalta, Enzo Siragusa, Archie Hamilton, Guy Gerber, Marco Carola and more all played so expect more of the same in 2020.

Envision Festival, Costa Rica

Envision is a four-day wellbeing and music festival held on a beach on Costa Rica’s Pacific coast with the rainforest as a dramatic backdrop. Lee Burridge, Bedouin, John Acquaviva, GRIZ, Sabo, Tycho, Nicola Cruz, Trevor Hall and many more will all play, and there is plenty of yoga, natural remedy workshops and astrology to enjoy next to the music.

Groove Island, Island of Catalina

Groove Island is a game changing, truly one of a kind new event in the paradise of Catalina Island. It takes place on September 27th – 30th and offers a wealth of music, activities, great accommodation and plenty more, zip wires, a gold tournament, the worlds largest ballroom dancing hall, a wine mixer, hiking, natural beauty on the mountains bays, beaches and sea. and DJs include Andrew Rayal, Mark Knight, Shiba San, Chus & Ceballos and many more.

Burning Man, Las Vegas

There is no line up for Burning Man but anyone who is anyone from the worlds of house and techno play. It goes down in a sandy Nevada desert which becomes huge pop up city where money is replaced with bartering and art installations litter the site, which also features giant stage structures such as the iconic Robot Heart. This is one culture gathering that genuinely changes peoples lives.

Download Festival: last minute larry guide!

DOWNLOAD 2019! Are you a last minute larry? Have you just drunkenly spent your wages on a weekend ticket because your mates are going, but have no idea what you need? Ok, so – you’re probably screwed in all honesty. The weather is tracking to be vile (cue Drownload jokes) and if you haven’t sorted out a tent and sleeping bag you need to leg it to a camping shop immediately. For everyone else, here’s your last minute mini checklist for the DL2019 weekend!

  1. Rain poncho – yeah these come in clear, or funky colours… but everyone wants to swish about like a Dementor in the rain right?
  2. Absurd leggings – Sure, you’ll never have occasion to wear these ever again but they’re comfy, and they afford you ample lunge-ability for appropriate headbanging stance. Oh and Whitesnake are playing so you’ll be paying tribute to a better time, when hair and dreams were bigger.
  3. Wellies – Don’t pretend you’re too cool for wellies if it’s raining. Your mates aren’t going to be sympathetic to your self-induced trench foot.
  4. Inflatable guitar – hear me out. It’s a multi-use item in my opinion. Obviously you’ll look rad/tragic rocking out with it, but it can double as a waterproof/comfortable arena seat that folds back up to pocket size. Can also be used to smash the bonce of any friends who dare to snooze.
  5. Battle jacket – Ok, not essential buuuut… how else are you meant to proclaim your love for Nickelback? Extra points for covering it past festival wristbands, instead of keeping them on your wrist, you filthy bastard.
  6. Beanie hat – Categorically the best way to retain heat at night. Cover in studs if you’re precious.
  7. Bandana – Stylish, tames greasy day three hair, can be used over the face when entering offensive portaloos.
  8. Tissue packs – Small enough for the pocket and in a handy water resistant pouch for when you spill your beer all over yourself trying to throw horns at Slayer.
  9. Power bank – We all used to make it work without mobile phones back in the day, just meet back at the Dog right? But you’ll probably want to use your phone camera to capture some memories of your pal Dave mud surfing naked soooo, keep that battery charged for those magical moments.
  10. Sun cream – Yep. The forecast sucks. It doesn’t matter. For some inexplicable reason, Download is THE festival where you can get simultaneously burnt and soaked. I don’t know how or why. It’s just how it is.
  11. Foldable drinks sac – Download is going green, which means a ban on water bottles/single use plastics. These lil babies are about a quid from Sports Direct and will roll up in your pocket while you’re not using it. Also good for your ‘walking whisky’ between the campsite and the arena.

So, grab your stash, prepare yourself for mud and madness… see you at Donington!
