SXM Festival has announced the phase one lineup for its highly-anticipated return to the Caribbean island of Saint Martin / Sint Maarten. From March 9-13, the destination experience will give attendees the chance to witness many of the top names in the underground techno and house scene in one of the world’s most beautiful and culturally diverse island locales.

Since its debut back in 2016, SXM Festival has remained focused on booking lineups that showcase a mix of legendary names and emerging acts alike from far-reaching corners of the globe. Some of clubland’s most celebrated selectors and live acts descend on Saint Martin / Sint Maarten annually to play for one of the most loyal and engaged communities of music fans and global party nomads in the world. The result is a breeding ground for musical experimentation and discovery eclipsed only by the beauty of the festival’s host location.

This year, SXM Festival will once again bring together many of the top names in the European scene. Attendees can look forward to the famed zeitgeist of Chilean-born minimal icon Ricardo Villalobos, Innervisions co-founders Âme, and live performance extraordinaire Jan Blomqvist. Other standouts include Life and Death label boss Dj Tennis, veteran German producer Steve Bug, multi-instrumentalist Chloé Caillet, and Copenhagen live trio WhoMadeWho.

The lineup also features celebrated acts from around the globe including the legendary Dubfire, Canadian favorite Blond:ish, Israeli star Chaim, and Grammy-nominated producer Danny Tenaglia. Phase one is rounded out by a diverse mix of veteran and rising names like Carlita, Behrouz, Sonja Moonear, Hoj, YokoO, Amine K, Raresh, Emanuel Satie, and more.

Attendees of the 5-day and 5-night tropical dance music escape will find themselves effortlessly navigating secluded beaches, lush jungle dancefloors, stunning villas, boat parties, and beach clubs – from sunrise to sunset. This unique party format is what sets SXM Festival apart from other destination festivals, guiding attendees through an eclectic mix of music, culture, and travel throughout their time in paradise.

Guests can experience their favorite house and techno artists at a variety of unique venues filled with mesmerising decor. Any SXM Festival devotées will tell you tales of the event’s beating heart, Happy Bay. The secluded private beach nestled in the jungle serves as the main evening venue for SXM Festival and is home to the iconic Arc Main stage and the immersive Ocean stage. Other highlights include Boho Beach Cub, the perfect place to chill out and escape during the day, along with Karakter, which overlooks the Caribbean sea and provides a spectacular view of aircrafts coming in for landing at SXM Airport and is the perfect place to catch a sunset.

Those seeking the VIP treatment can select from a number of luxurious villas, and can also add private yachting, Michelin star caliber dining, and more to the package with a single click on the website booking page. VIP guests will have access to exclusive areas with lush amenities at Happy Bar. This includes table service, a chill-out area, a dedicated VIP bar and special cocktail and wine pop-up bars, and access to the famed Villa Party on Saturday.

Additional add-ons are the Satellite Parties, including the Boat Party with DJs soundtracking the epic voyage, which includes the option to set sail at sunset on the largest lagoon in the Caribbean, along with the Panorama event. The pre-sale for VIP Ticket holders for these two events starts February 8th.

The Panorama party will give attendees the chance to party at the peak of Sint Maarten’s highest mountain with breathtaking 360-degree views of the best Caribbean sunset. Fans may recognize the location from the iconic Cercle spectacle captured with Blond:ish from this very spot. The unique, sustainable venue – Rainforest Adventures / Rockland Estate – is an eco–adventure park that preserves the island’s native habit and invests in the cultural landscape of St. Maarten.

For the 2022 edition, the event will continue to build upon its deep connection with the cultural and ecological fabric of the beautiful host locale of Saint Martin / Sint Maarten. Spawned in 2019 to help encourage the prosperity and health of the island following the devastating Hurricane Irma, SXM Festival created a partnership with SXM Doet, the largest volunteer initiative in Saint Martin / Sint Maarten and the Dutch Kingdom.

Attendees are also encouraged to take a break from the party and meet the locals and other travelers, while offering their service to the island at specific, sponsored projects. Past projects have included beach cleanups, playground builds, and basketball court maintenance, with this year’s charitable action initiatives to be announced in the months to come.

SXM Festival is also dedicated to leaving a smaller footprint and helping replenish natural environments. With initiatives that include going paperless, saving energy with LED and solar lights, and eliminating plastic waste throughout the festival, it is the mission of SXM Festival to become increasingly sustainable throughout their growth. The festival also has a no trace policy: every venue is transformed to be more beautiful at the end of each event.

Whether you are a returning vet or first-timer, SXM Festival and the beautiful island of Saint Martin / Sint Maarten hold rich cultural surprises behind each twist and turn. It is truly a sum of its parts and a musical voyage of a lifetime. Come find out for yourself.

The magic in Surreal Park, Brazil, is real!

New artistic club/complex commanded by the renowned Renato Ratier had the public excited at the first events

Maybe you’ve already heard of it, maybe not. But far from here, there in Brazil, a new club [that’s not exactly a club, we’ll explain it in the end] was opened on december 26th. We’re talking about Surreal Park, an artistic complex that will go far beyond electronic music, but that started putting on some very special parties with great DJs. So, we decided to tell you a little about this place’s atmosphere and what you’ll find once you’re there for the first time — we guarantee it’s worth it!

The place

Different from traditional clubs, here we don’t have a closed, tiny space… it’s quite the opposite. The space in which Surreal Park was installed is a giant land with more than 90 thousand square meters, completely surrounded by nature, by the green of trees, lakes and hills. The parking lot is huge and right there you can already feel what’s about to come. The air is fresh, the music is already echoing and it’s already possible to see some tents that are part of the complex.

Right at the entrance

During the entrance line, you can feel that something different awaits you. 2 giant gorillas with about 3 meters of height are on each side ‘‘welcoming’’ you. It is the beginning of several artistic installations that you will come across throughout the place.

The first stage

Right ahead, we’re already on the first dancefloor: Raw Room. With wood floors and cabin, this stage esse palco was seen as an itinerant party throughout Brazil, the idea is to be an unpretentious “escape” to relax and listen to good music, hosting artists and sounds that flirt mainly with House, Minimal and similar lines. The idea is to welcome several local labels and collectives. Seas Label, Laguna Music, Sharp Movement and Shelter 47 have already passed through there. Some international artists who have joined the local labels include Yaya, Quest, Lamache and Dyed Soundorom.

Let the bells ring!

Further on, on the left, we can see the entrance to the Bells stage, a space essentially destined for Techno and heavier aspects of electronic music. It’s a huge, very well-architected dark shed, with minimalist lighting. In addition to Renato Ratier himself, other names that have passed through there are Hito, Paul Ritch, Radio Slave, Fedele, Wehbba and Bart Skils. All of this in the first 5 nights only. At dawn, some windows located at the back of the stage function as an entry for natural light creating a magnificent visual effect, also signaling that, in a few hours, the night will end, at 7 am.

The bars and green area

Leaving Bells on the left side, we can find a food court, self-service machines and one of the 4 bars located along the complex. If you choose to go out behind the stage, you’ll come across a huge mountainous green area and see the Nomad stage tent ahead. There, you can walk, find resting spaces, take pictures in some of the artistic installations and enjoy all of this connection that nature offers.

Welcome to Nomad

After a tour of the entire venue, we finally arrive at the third and most beautiful stage of all, Nomad. Around the dancefloor, carriages signal spaces for small groups to enjoy the night. A huge circus tent covers the dancefloor, referring to the gypsy world, its mystery and romanticism. It is a totally playful, colorful space that has the ability to awaken the imagination of everyone present there. The first nights passed through Nomad were Facundo Mohrr, Sébastien Léger, Rebolledo, Crazy P Soundsystem, HOSH, Agentes Of Time, WhoMadeWho, Biesmans, Frankey & Sandrino, Jan Blomqvist, Oostil, Fur Coat, Fantastic Man and Roland Clark. Not bad, right?

The final result

Let’s be simple and direct: it feels like we’re inside a festival! But it is not a festival, it’s an artistic complex that hosts electronic music nights, but which will also host conferences and other types of events, as it’s modular and can adapt to different formats. At dawn, the place becomes even more beautiful, it makes you feel like you’re in paradise, with the sun illuminating the green, the birds singing and the music’s vibration touching your soul. It’s certainly a place that every clubber needs to visit when passing through Brazil, with an atmosphere and a different vibe that is difficult to find anywhere else in the world, a truly surreal experience.

BPM Festival Brasil

On February 25th, 26th and 27th, Surreal Park will host the first edition of the BPM Festival in Brazil during Carnival. The lineup does not disappoint, with names like Carl Craig, Dubfire, Henrik Schwarz, Joris Voorn, Nicole Moudaber, Oxia, Popof, Sonja Moonear and others all present. If you have the opportunity to attend, don’t let it pass by!

Oostil: “One of the best places on earth”
The Element: “Heaven on earth. Can’t wait to come back. The future is here”
Fur Coat: “Great Times, Awesome place”
Bart Skils: “Great Night”

Villalobos remains a rare delicacy stateside, but thanks to his deep-rooted ties to the Time Warp and Teksupport families, fans have been able to witness his brilliance twice in New York the past seven years.

Âme, whose Time Warp legacy kicked off in 2007 brings a slice of Berlin house to the party. Second State owners Pan-Pot also represent Berlin, along with Ostgut Ton/Berghain figureheads Ben Klock and Marcel Dettmann for a rare b2b—all three of whom were inducted into the family in 2012. Seth Troxler rounds out the list of historic talents to grace the roster. The political activist, multilabel head, and Lost Souls of Saturn member has been an annual fixture at Time Warp’s flagship Mannheim event since 2011.

Techno always takes center stage at Time Warp New York, with all sides of the spectrum covered by its all-star cast. On the melodic end, Afterlife stalwarts Adriatique are set to bring their expertise to the decks, while virtuoso Stephan Bodzin will bring a full hardware kit to the show. Industrial aficionados will enjoy performances by Paula Temple, Kobosil, and a live showing by Reinier Zonneveld. International superstar Nina Kraviz will serve up her signature high-tempo mix of techno and electro cuts, while KiNK will showcase his impressive penchant for improvisation on his array of keyboards and synths.

Time Warp’s communal ethos extends to the cities it touches, as such, New York talent will be spotlighted with local mainstays DESNA, Avision, Shahar, mink, and O.BEE on display.
Since its 2014 debut in New York, Time Warp has made the city a second home with local impresario Teksupport as its chosen partner. Its 2019 return saw fans gathered from across the nation to celebrate 25 years of Time Warp, which also marked the first large-scale underground dance music event to happen in the Bronx. The results were massive, ushering in a new era for the global brand and a bright chapter for American house and techno enthusiasts. Following a forced two-year break since, fans can expect peak energy for its grand 2021 return.

Teksupport has produced some of New York’s most unique and exciting parties of recent years. They have scoured the city to unearth new locations, throwing parties in submarine factories, navy yards, subterranean ballrooms and industrial warehouses, building a reputation for pairing raw spaces with world-class event production. Their 2021 summer season played a role in reasserting the city’s prominence as an underground dance music mecca, hosting the likes of DJ Tennis, The Martinez Brothers, Sven Väth, Guy Gerber, Dixon, Perel, and more.
Time Warp’s return to New York will follow its prodigal return to Mannheim on October 30 2021 before heading south to its Brazil HQ of São Paulo. Head to their website for more information on their international events and to sign up for tickets.

At that event, Amnesia hosted a special off-location showcase at the 17th-century Fortress of Pag with Jamie Jones and more with Do Not Sleep hosting the Main Stage at NOA. Now Amnesia, Noa Beach Club and BSH events have partnered up for this brand new seven-day takeover for a season closing Fiesta.
World-renowned super club and Ibiza authority Amnesia will preside on Zrce Festival Beach with its many decade’s of Ibiza authenticity and experience and considerable party know-how, as well as taking world-class DJs in tow with them. Zcre Festival Beach‘s globally renowned open-air Noa Beach Club with its punchy sound systems, alfresco dance floors and uninterrupted views of the Adriatic Sea will be transformed with next-level production into genuinely hedonistic and immersive Ibiza outposts. As well as the wealth of music, there is a huge selection of activities to keep you entertained around the clock.

New technologies, the crypto industry and DAO are set to revolutionise events
Circus Maximus 2021 is more than just a festival. It is the first step on a revolutionary road to putting partying back in the hands of the people and becoming the world’s first-ever DAO music festival. This year’s event runs 8th – 13th August at the world-renowned Noa Beach Club in Croatia, with full Covid-19 measures in place to keep everyone safe. Headliners include Da Tweekaz, Regard, Brennan Heart, Imanbek, Harris & Ford. All purchases with cryptocurrency via the web app at https://tickets.circusmaximusfestival.com/welcome come as a digital NFT ticket, while purchases on the web at https://www.noa-zrce.com/en/events/circus-maximus also come as an NFT ticket that is mined on your behalf and presented as a physical ticket.
DAO or Distributed Autonomous Organisation is an organisation that is run through rules encoded in smart contracts. DAO’s can be organised around common goals or interests. Although most DAOs are focused on finances, Circus Maximus is exploring how a music festival can be organised in a DAO way that allows the whole world to have their say.
The accomplished team behind the well-established Circus Maximus wants to transform the festival industry by making attendees an integral part of the story. The first step on this path is to put the festival in the hands of the community, who will then determine its continued existence with the help of new technologies, the crypto industry and DAO.
