Nestled away in the backstreets of London’s bustling Soho district is Orange Yard. It is a personal and intimate club set to bring something utterly fresh and exciting to the capital with a next-level Funktion One system, specially designed sound treatment, and two atmospheric spaces – the outdoor terrace and a cosy inside dancefloor for 300 people. May 17th marks the much-anticipated re-launch with the likes of Mike Dunn, Viken Arman, Kevin de Vries, Briana Knauss and Chelina Manuhutu all supplying the sounds this season. 

Orange Yard is all set to become the new home for proper house music in London. Bucking the trend for large super clubs, the compact and stylish venue offers something for those who prefer more snug club experiences. As well as an all-new terrace, it has a cosy 300 capacity club space that will cover all styles from deep to Chicago, organic to soulful. 

The intimate inside club boasts a bespoke eight-piece Funktion One Soundsystem with full acoustic treatment that will provide unmatched sound quality across the full breadth of the room. The install was carried out by globally renowned audio experts Sound Services, who have worked with Funktion One on projects at the likes of Glastonbury and Red Bull Culture Clash as well as at sister venue E1. This means you can be sure of an unparalleled audio experience at each and every party.  

Having undergone an extensive refurbishment since first launching in 2019, the tasteful contemporary venue is the perfect spot for post-work drinks on the vibey terrace, or for a proper get down in the club. It has futuristic neon lighting and wood-panelled walls that very much take you away from everyday life and into a cocoon of crystal clear, powerful sound.

Chief amongst the new season of offerings are headline sets for in-house promotion Night Dreamers. The first comes from house royalty Mike Dunn on July 31st, the Chicago native behind many rough-edged but funky house classics and a thrilling DJ to boot. Frenchman Viken Arman is another house artist continually pushing boundaries and will do so on July 2nd. French house duo Amine Edge & DANCE.

Bring their hip hop slanted beats, and cutting-edge selector Kevin de Vries also plays for six hours in August and is sure to join the dots between house and techno past and present with his always hypnotic style. Slovenian talent Brina Knauss has achieved widespread notoriety and respect for her DJ skills in a short space of time and will show that when she plays on September 17th, and Dutch-born, Ibiza-based star Chelina Manuhutu will show why she is one house’s hottest properties with her powerful grooves on September 24th. 

Between now and the end of summer, brands like Lost Paradiso, Frame, Eastern Grooves, La Dense, Way Out, Oscillate, Deep Into Soul, Care3, Disturbia, Concrete Music, Danza and more will also curate their own special events

The long wait is nearly over and the final countdown can begin to this year’s much anticipated, bigger than ever BSH Island. The stunning open-air weekender brings a real taste of Ibiza to Croatia with White Isle legends Amnesia Ibiza and Do Not Sleep Ibiza showcases as well as island regulars like Paco Osuna and Ilario Alicante. With a sensitivity of 97.1% and a specificity of 99.6%. With pricing starts from a little as £8 per test kit. The individually packaged test is imminently due to receive self-testing approval in the form of UK MHRA Emergency use (it is the second test to achieve this, the only other being the controversially contrived UK govt NHS Test & Trace test). We’re incorporating a lot more technology into the stage builds and SFX, using holographic projections, water pumps and moving levers to add motion to parts of the decor build.”

Musically, Foreverland brings cutting-edge sounds with lots of energy. House and bass-heavy tech define the soundtracks but with plenty of nuances along the way. Shows are hosted by Tyrone (MC) and Faris Rai will be working as a presenter, with James Hype, Low Steppa, Weiss, Secondcity, and Endor as headliners. The glorious setting for this majestic musical gathering is Apps Court Farm in Surrey. Horse Meat Disco are one of the most colourful and celebrated party outfits in the UK and for good reason – they really know how to bring the heat with all shades of emotive house and disco. 

Then there is Nothing Else Matters boss and Radio 1 tastemaker Danny Howard who always brings every style of house, and the legendary disco don Tensnake, who single-handedly reinvigorated the genre and continually turns out huge hits on labels like Defected and True Romance. BSH Island returns to the idyllic island of Pag for a 5 day open air music weekender from July 1st to July 5th 2021 with the Main Stage taking place at Noa Beach Club, one of the most impressive and stylish venues in the Adriatic region boasting epic views of the crystal blue sea.  The world-class BSH Island line up is to be announced soon with Do Not Sleep, Under No Illusion Recordings and Pablo’s House all set to host stages at Noa Beach Club with after hours sessions at the equally essential Kalypso Club.

The Fortress of Pag welcomes Amnesia, one of Ibiza’s most iconic brands, this magical off-location sunset showcase will take place at the spectacular Fortress on Friday July 2nd from 4pm to 11pm as the highlight of the BSH Island music weekender. The Ibiza superclub will set-up at the breathtaking 17th century Fortress, which was established to monitor the sea on what used to be a very busy route vulnerable to pirates. It has uninterrupted views of the sea, with historic architecture and a real old-world feel that makes it an unforgettable setting and backdrop for the a fitting lineup and soundtrack from Ukranian melodic techno innovators ARTBAT, Italian duo Mathame who always bring real emotion to their sets, as well as Brina Knauss and Amnesia mainstay Luca Donzelli.

Labyrinth Sessions is a series of shows that allow artists to dig deep into their record collection, showcase the full range of their DJ skills and build an energy from the start of the evening to the final track. 

The events are spread across some of London’s leading clubs and focus on intimacy between the artist and the audience. A level of intimacy that we’ve all missed so much over the past year. 

Every event will see Labyrinth work closely alongside their in-house visual production team, to create a new lighting experience for each party, designed in close collaboration with the artist on each show. 

Labyrinth returns to the West London studio space of Loft Studios, for the full August Bank Holiday Weekend, with Sunday 29th August date to be announced soon. Those who attended the sold out Keinemusik 10×10 party on the August Bank Holiday Sunday of 2019, will know just how special this space is.

Reggae

The City Splash mission is to celebrate the impact and importance of reggae music on British culture, birthing everything from Ska, Rocksteady, Dub, Roots, Dancehall, Lovers Rock to its UK ancestors of UK Reggae, Jungle, Hip Hop, Garage, Grime and  Drum and Bass; the influence of Reggae has been a constant in the UK for 50 years. Not only has it brought us the riddims and the lifestyle influence, but it’s a genre that expresses and addresses social issues and their solutions through the music’s messages.

Food

We will be hosting London’s finest Carribean street food vendors in collaboration with London Jerk Fest; sampling favourite delights from jerk chicken to vegan ital stew, fried plantains and much much more. For those of you looking for a more liquid lunch, expect an unparalleled rum vendor selection and locally brewed craft beers, stouts and spirits to add a little fyah to the day.

Culture

Reggae’s influence on youth culture in London runs deep, the genre’s heartbeat rhythm and lyrics about love, redemption and natural living deeply affect fashions, lifestyles, friendships and unify strangers internationally. We believe such an important genre musically and socially deserves a prominent place on the annual live music calendar in London and we’re hyped to be bringing it to South London this September.

Location 

The festival is located in the beautiful Beckenham Place Park near to Crystal Palace and is home to ancient woodland and rolling grassy hills. With FOUR music stages dedicated to the biggest of reggae acts, you can happily bop around between the unique production sites to catch your favorites.

‘Experience Commerce’ Platform EASOL Shares Findings From The First Ever In Trend Report.

Today, as consumers race to book a range of experiences as stay at home orders are lifted, the platform announces fascinating findings from their all-new in-depth experience economy trend report ‘Better Days Are Coming,’ which was commissioned to investigate trends around consumer travel and experiences in 2021 and beyond. Despite an extremely challenging 12 months for the experience economy, there is a positive outlook for what the future holds in what is set to be a decade like no other in demand. 

The ‘Better Days Are Coming’ experience economy report saw more than 3000 consumers surveyed across Europe and North America on their travel intentions. It offers comprehensive analysis of the sector and provides valuable insights to those operating in the experience economy on how the world is going to travel in 2021 and beyond. It also features interviews and case studies from Easol’s community of experience creators and industry experts from the worlds of wellness, festivals, surf and sports, including global wellness platform Wanderlust, Transformational Travel Council, festival organisers Mustard Media and many more.

The comprehensive report was launched at the Easol online showcase event on April 15th to demonstrate the ‘new way to sell experiences online’ that gives the power back to experience creators with Easol’s experience commerce platform. The showcase also gave ideas and recommendations for how businesses can respond to these trends. 

Key predictions found in the report include an enormous pent up demand for travel, that consumer confidence in group travel is certainly up and that experience businesses who adapt and evolve will fare the best. 

Key findings:

85% of travellers would choose to go on an experience holiday if they could take only one trip in 2021

86% of travellers are planning to go on an experience holiday in 2022

77.4% of travellers would feel comfortable in a group holiday with people from outside their household

59% of people would prefer groups of up to 10 people

81% of North American travellers would consider sharing a room with another participants

70% of European solo travellers would consider sharing a room with another participant

75% of creators feel optimistic about their experience business in 2021

Before the pandemic, 40% of people took three to five trips a year. As many as 33% of us now plan to spend more on travel in 2021 than in previous years. 

The report also highlights case studies from experience creators such as Envision Festival as a way of highlighting how the sector has been adapting and thriving despite the pandemic. The wellness and surf festival set in Costa Rica has already recorded an impressive triple digit growth in ticket sales for their 2022 event.

Easol is the new way to sell experiences online. For the first time ever, experience businesses from yoga retreats, surf camps, festivals, sports trips and adventure tours will never have to outsource their business to traditional e-commerce platforms (WordPress, Shopify, Squarespace, Wix), booking platforms (Eventbrite, active.com) or experience marketplaces (GetYourGuide, Airbnb) which are not viable solutions, offering ineffective services that are more costly, vulnerable to errors, significantly more time consuming with more manual processes and ultimately cap the business’ potential growth. 

Despite an extremely challenging year for the experience economy, Easol has seen staggering growth after recently securing more than $4.5m in funding from world-class technology investors like Notion Capital with participation from Y Combinator, Foundation Capital, Slow Ventures and Micheal Zeisser – former Chairman of US investments at Alibaba. After the initial vaccine announcement, the company also saw its largest ever month in booking and processing volume, which was up 25% from pre-pandemic figures.
