CLAPTONE, DJ PIERRE AND MR.C HEADLINE THE SET FOR LOVE XMAS APPEAL, LAUNCHING ON WORLD CHILDREN’S DAY, 20TH NOVEMBER, IN ASSOCIATION WITH PIONEER DJ

Claptone, Mr.C, DJ Pierre, Krafty Kuts and Barbrara Tucker are just some of the artists confirmed to play a Set For Love to help the Last Night A DJ Saved My Life charity (LNADJ) launch their Xmas Appeal.  The campaign kicks off with a series of livestreams and live events centred around World Children’s Day on the 20th November and will run until the end of the year.  

The charity is encouraging promoters and DJs of all levels, around the world, to get involved by either streaming a set or hosting an event to raise funds for their campaigns that create a sustainable future for children in developing countries.  Anyone wanting to participate can register at setforlove.org and will receive everything they need to promote their event and raise funds as part of the campaign.  

Mr.C’s Superfreq brand is one of the key events already on the Set For Love calendar. He’s hosting a loft party in Los Angeles headlined by none other than Acid House pioneer DJ Pierre. All profits from the party will be donated to the Set For Love Xmas Appeal. The event takes place on Friday 19th November, with Superfreq residents David Scuba, Xo Chic and DJ Ideal completing the line up.

The sets from the Superfreq party will also be a highlight in the Set For Love headliners livestream showcase taking place across the launch weekend. The livestream showcase starts on Saturday 20th November, World Children’s Day itself, from 7pm 12am BST with Claptone headlining and the Superfreq show will kick off on Sunday 21st November from 7pm BST.

Set For Love made headlines around the globe last year when it grew to become the world’s largest simultaneous DJ livestream during lockdown. Influential artists including Carl Cox, Sasha, Eats Everything, Miss Monique, Louie Vega, Nightmares On Wax, Anfisa Letyago, Huxley and many more have been involved in the charitable project. During 2020 the event raised over £165K across several events, with DJs participating from 80 countries. The funds raised continue to make a difference to hundreds of children affected by abuse and sexual exploitation, extreme poverty, child labour, lack of access to water and lack of access to education.

In celebration of the Xmas Appeal, event partner Mixmasters have launched the Set For Love EP on their Mixmasters Red label, in support of Midi Minds Kenya. A project that explores the sounds of Samburu culture through electronic music, all proceeds from the EP will go to build a classroom in a primary school where the Sounds of Sasaab sample pack was recorded. The release was developed as part of the Mixmasters programme where worldwide established artist Huxley remixed the samples of The Samburu tribe and then chose 2 winners from the Mixmasters worldwide community to join him on this release. After almost 10 years as a leading light in London’s House and Techno scene, super club Studio 338 finally takes the leap over to the White Isle next Summer as Ibiza returns to action. South American dance music visionary Renato Ratier has finally unveiled his long-awaited next step after leaving Warung after more than a decade. Surreal is his brand new venture on the coast of Santa Catarina and it promises to be a multi-purpose artistic complex from the driving force behind the world renowned D-Edge clubs in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paolo. This new artistic complex will be located in the city of Camboriú and will bring an unprecedented cultural experience to Santa Catarina. It boasts 92,000 square meters of space that can be set up to suit a variety of events, with a focus on contemporary music and electronic soundtracks. Fully modular, it can host everything from its own parties to large concerts and festivals, as well as social and corporate events with world class light, sound and production that will make each event unique and unforgettable. 

The opening will be held on December 26, 2021 and the venue will boast different areas. These include the Nomad Stage for slow and deep melodic house, the Bells Stage which is a barn with a more industrial edge for heavier techno and tech house, and the Raw Room Stage which is an open area. As well as the music there will be a food court that houses a thousand people with food trucks and a kitchen.

Says Renato, “I spent 10 years working hard and intensely, contributing to Warung Beach Club’s growth in order to deliver the best possible experience. I now believe that my mission along with the entire team was fulfilled. But music has been running through my veins since I was a child so I am committed to continuing to grow electronic music in Brazil. This new project will do that and very soon everyone will be able to experience the surreal sensations that the new complex will offer.”

Surreal is set to be a game-changing new addition to the Brazilian scene.

Brazilian techno superstar ANNA unveils two remixes of Orbital’s seminal ‘Belfast’ on November 10th, 30 years after the original’s emotive energy began to captivate clubbers.

ANNA may have been only six years old when ‘Belfast’ was first released, but she certainly understands Orbital in their purest form. Her powerful ‘Techno Remix’ injects earthy heft with rattling, tribal drums underpinning the iconic melodies of the original, giving off a fittingly strident update on ‘90s techno aesthetics. ANNA’s ‘Ambient Remix’ strips things back and hones in on the production’s captivating leads and enigmatic vocals, offering a laid back but enthralling take.

The 2021 DJ Mag’s #1 DJ launches his residency in Saudi with a series of much anticipated public and exclusive concerts 

Excitement levels are about to hit fever pitch as MDLBEAST PRESENTS announced today the upcoming unprecedented residency of global DJ sensation David Guetta in Riyadh. The series of exclusive and public events will kick off next week to mark the launch of ‘MDLBEAST PRESENTS’, the company’s arm which aims to amplify the regional music scene through concerts, events and experiences.

The international DJ, who retained his #1 ranking by DJ Mag in 2021, will kick off his residency with exclusive events to be held in various locations around Riyadh on the 12th, 19th and 26th of November, with a very limited number of tickets. The French superstar DJ will then conclude his stay in the Kingdom with performances at Formula 1 and SOUNDSTORM in December.
