First-Ever South Asian Electronic Music Collective Closes the Gobi Stage on Friday, April 11, and Friday, April 18, with Explosive Live Performances at Renowned Music and Arts Festival
Indo Warehouse made its highly anticipated and historic debut as the first-ever South Asian electronic music collectiveto perform at the world-renowned Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival on Friday, April 11, with an upcoming appearance on Friday, April 18, at 10:40pm PST on the Gobi stage. The groundbreaking appearance showcased their genre-defining sound and spotlighted a global diasporic movement that is reshaping existing dance culture. The Gobi stage became the site of a cultural awakening with Indo Warehouse blending identity, heritage, and innovation alongside a meteoric dancefloor takeover that redefined what representation looks and sounds like.
Co-founded in 2022 by visionary label heads Armaan (âKahaniâ) Gupta and Kunal Merchant, Indo Warehouse has pioneered a distinctive subgenre of electronic music they have dubbed “Indo House,â which combines elements from their South Asian heritage with contemporary house and techno. In just three years, the collective has rapidly grown from intimate New York city clubs to sold-out international venues throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, demonstrating a surge in worldwide demand expanding beyond their cultural diaspora.
For their Coachella appearance, Indo Warehouse partnered with creative teams High Scream (Bad Bunny, Black Coffee, David Guetta) and Frameworx (Lisa, Rosie, Childish Gambino) for a large-scale, captivating, on-stage production in prime time. The original music, innovative stage design, immersive storytelling visuals, and world-class dance choreography included more than 25 performers spanning two sets of dance teams (featuring two regional South Asian folk dance styles: Bhangra and Raas), drummers, and multiple vocalists: Anvaya, comprised of singer and songwriter Sonia, and producer and multi-instrumentalist Kaushal; dance teams Raas Ruckus and Baaghi Bhangra; singers HYDR and PDNY; and drummer Nihal Singh and his dhol drumline.
The label’s commitment to showcasing South Asian talent and influences has filled a gap in the dance music market.âPlaying Coachella was a cultural milestone for South Asian representation in global music,â says Kunal Merchant. âThis opportunity shows the world that South Asian stories, sounds, and creativity belong on the biggest stages â not just as guests, but as headliners. Weâre grateful for the chance to do it again, and promise the second weekend will be just as powerful.â Added Armaan Gupta, âEvery Indo Warehouse show is an immersive celebration of culture and community, and we are so proud to have brought all of that to one of the worldâs most important music festivals.â
Emerging artists are rarely given the honor of closing out one of Coachellaâs signature stages with fewer still, breaking from tradition by bringing dance music outside of the Yuma tent. In doing so, Indo Warehouse shattered expectations and set a new benchmark for South Asian artists. Subsequently, the collectiveâs appearance has been dubbed “Indochella” by global fans across social media as the performances were a bold celebration of South Asian culture and artistry rippling throughout the diaspora.
In true Coachella fashion, the visual storytelling extended beyond the stage. For this performance, Indo Warehouse paid tribute to the late Rohit Bal, one of Indiaâs most celebrated fashion designers. Custom attire was created in his honor that weaved together traditional South Asian craftsmanship with contemporary flair, resulting in a visually stunning and symbolic reminder of legacy, roots, and artistic lineage.
Catch them closing out the Gobi Stage once again this Friday, April 18, at 10:40pm PST by tuning into the live stream via YouTubeLive (click âNotify Meâ now to get a reminder when it goes live): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROT0X0BNy6s

Club Culture x Pop Up Culture: The legendary nightclub and anti-club party specialists unite, championing the evolution of club culture.
On March 19th, Londonâs legendary Ministry of Sound joined forces with pop-up specialists Lab54 to host a first-of-its-kind secret partyâin the womenâs toilets. Now, revealing the secret collaboration, Ministry of Sound and Lab54 are announcing the start of an on-going partnership with more pop-ups to come. Kicking off on May 4th, Lab54 will return to the site of the âbreak-inâ, minus the bolt cutters, to host the first in a series of Toilet Takeovers.
Late on a mid-week evening, Lab54 and 100 accompanying ravers âbrokeâ into the venue, armed with balaclavas, sound systems, and a trolley load of alcohol, with footage from the event spreading virally across social media and reaching 15 million views so far. Experts in the unconventional, Lab54âs âanywhere but a clubâ ethos has led founder, Joe Gordon, and the lab-community, to party all around the world, from castles to arcades to bagel shops, hotel rooms to yachts and beyond.
Inspired by the enduring spirit of club culture, the inaugural party witnessed the unlikely marriage between the âAnywhere but a clubâ specialists with one of the UKâs most iconic venues to spark conversations around the ever-evolving nightlife landscape. United in their combined reverence for community, the event paid homage to where Ministry, and rave culture itself, started some 35 years ago.
Says Lab54 founder Joe Gordon, âI think the paradigm shift weâre seeing in nightlife at the moment makes it important for clubs like Ministry to work with communities like ours to help reflect this in their offerings to ravers and what better way to do that than going back to their roots and pranking the online rave community!â
Since its inception in a disused bus garage in Elephant & Castle, Ministry of Sound has continued to evolve and shape the capitalâs nightlife industry, maintaining its revolutionary attitude. Today, the iconic venue continues to pave the way for superclubs to support the modern raver, with accessible ÂŁ5 tickets, sober raves, and 3 brand-new in-house club nights launched: Smoove, URGE, and Disco Daddy.
Says Ministry Group’s Managing Director Caitlin McAllister, “Club culture has always been about pushing boundaries, and the intersection of pop-up culture with establishments like Ministry of Sound is a reflection of how the industry is evolving. Thereâs an irony in a pop-up âbreaking inâ to a club but thatâs exactly the point – we need to bring new ideas to our spaces.”
Landing on the bank holiday weekend, the first official Ministry x Lab54 Toilet Takeover party will see the clubâs loos transformed once more on Sunday 4 May. More details, dates and events to be announced – keep your eyes peeled at; @ministryofsound@lab54_uk
