Phoebe Bridgers’ has been forced to postpone her upcoming album launch shows just days after the release of ‘Lost Weekend’ following a diagnosis of appendicitis.
It probably wasn’t how the Grammy winning artist expected to spend her 32nd birthday, posting on Instagram from a hospital bed, Phoebe said:
“I got appendicitis for my birthday everything in the UK this week will have to move but I’ll make it up to you!!!!”
The illness comes just days after Bridgers returned to the UK stage for two intimate performances at London’s Union Chapel on August 17 and had appeared on BBC Radio One’s Live Lounge where she performed a cover of Nirvana’s ‘Lithium’.
Shows were due to take place at Circuit in Kingston on Wednesday 19 August, Chalk in Brighton on Thursday 20 August and Electric Bristol on Friday 21 August with fans now waiting to hear when the rescheduled UK dates will take place.
Bridgers is still scheduled to play her ‘Lost Tour’ of the UK and Europe later this year.
The boygenius star’s new album is her first since 2020’s Grammy-nominated ‘Punisher’ and was preceeded by the single ‘Lost Boys’.
