Download organisers are to honour the recent passing of Jim Marshall by dedicating this year’s main stage to ‘the Father of Loud’ and the man responsible for ‘the Sound of Rock’.

In its biggest year to date, Download Festival has announced a further 13 acts to this year’s stellar line up including Refused, Kids in Glass Houses, Lower Than Atlantis, Four Year Strong and many more.

DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL has revealed another ‘dirty dozen’ acts for this year’s festival, which takes place 8-10 June at Donington Park! This year’s Download celebrates 10 years of rockin’, and is headlined by The Prodigy, Metallica and Black Sabbath.

Seminal American rock legends SOUNDGARDEN have been confirmed to perform at this year’s DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL in Donington Park, it was announced today. This will be their first UK performance since 1996 and the first time that Soundgarden have played Download (or Donington!).

THE PRODIGY are confirmed as the third headliner for the mighty Download Festival on Friday 8 June 2012, setting the tone to one of the biggest line ups in Download history and celebrating the festival’s 10th anniversary.

The original line-up of BLACK SABBATH - Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, Bill Ward - have confirmed they will return to their roots to headline the Download Festival next summer on Sunday 10 June 2012, it was announced today at a press conference in LA.

METALLICA have today announced that they will headline the 10th Download Festival at Donington Park on Saturday 9 June 2012, with an exclusive UK performance oftheir best selling, No. 1 album Metallica, more commonly known simply as ‘The Black Album’.
